Hotel was nice but does not have a front reception which makes it challenging if you arrive early, and especially when you do not see any soul in the town. There was a heat wave and the room did not have any fans (no portable fans either), it was impossible to sleep in that heat. Also, the manager told me that he does not like anyone taking food in the room, which seems strange.

The hotel is good, accommodation prices are low, room was comfortable. The food was excellent and very keenly priced. The wine list was extensive and also had great prices. Even if you don't stay here, you really should try the food.

The owner met us with a big smile and handed us our room key. The room was perfect. His dining room offered up the best dinner in town Breakfast was included with our room and he provided everyone with extra fresh buns meat and cheese along with paperbags to enjoy during our long day of hiking. He also gave us tips on the Rheinsteig.
