The owner was very courteous and quick to answer our questions. The room was very clean and comfortable. It had a fridge and there was a microwave to use just down the hall. The hotel is located in a quiet and lovely rural area.The only negative was that the bathroom is noisy, the fan was very loud and the light fixture buzzed. I just kept it off as much as possible. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would stay here again if in the area.

Check in was easy , very accommodating they had me booked on the second floor but due to mobility issues I cant do stairs, so they found a room on the first floor for us. The inn was clean. Our room was small, but it served its purpose , it had a decent bed, a fridge, tv and a bathroom. Coffee and cookies were available 24/7 ,with use of a microwave if needed.

This hotel/motel is run down, and has definitely seen better days. The owner or manager (I'm not sure which) was very polite, but the moment you walk into the lobby it has a very strong smell. Nothing has been updated in a long time, so things are getting quite shabby. Upon arriving at our room, the door was open and the tv was on. We weren't sure if someone else had the room, but were told it was ours. Some things were clean, but others were obviously not (carpet not vacuumed, hairs on bathroom floor, mould in the grout around the bathtub, etc). I went to the front desk to ask something around 11:00pm but it was all locked up for the night and no one was there. The photos show a "restaurant", but there is no restaurant at this hotel. We stayed here after going to a play in Stratford. Another time I would just drive further to find a better place to stay, probably for the same price.

It’s a nice quiet and clean motel, about ten minutes drive from the Festival Theatre. They have coffee and cookies available in the morning. If you want a full breakfast either bring your own or go to the nearby Tim Hortons. The room was clean, the AC worked quietly, and similar accommodations in town are sketchy. As a bonus, it’s an easy drive to the St Jacob’s area for shopping, brunch, and you can be back in Stratford for a matinee.

A sweet inn & very quiet hotel just minutes outside Stratford! Owners/Operators a lovely family! Very accommodating for all our needs. There is no food service on-site, but our room had a fridge so we could store purchased food/leftovers from meals eaten out. Hotel is also a short walk to a local variety store, and a shop called the British Touch which also sells a variety of shelf stable foods. Not to far a drive is also a local ice cream shop selling over 25 flavours of ice cream.

this motel is in the quaint town of Shakespeare which is a short distance from Stratford which was our true destination for theatre going. It had ample parking and a clean room. We had no need to interact with any staff except for checking in. Room had heat and air which we never needed to use. Free morning coffee was available.

Rooms are pretty basic but clean and has a fridge with a tiny freezer. It was very quiet! They offer coffee and cookies in the cafe from 7-9 am. Friendly staff that double check that the room is clean before you go in. Very reasonable and only 10 min from Stratford

The property is dated but the room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Nothing fancy with this hotel but would recommend as the price is right! Staff are friendly and accommodating. It was about a 15 minute drive into Stratford.

*****AVOID***** mold in bathroom shower, I did not see one staff member , we checked in at 6pm on Saturday, no one at the front desk , our keys in a basket, no one there when we checked out either … if you need a room in this area stay in Stratford or Kitchener . I thought I was booking locally owned charming hotel / motel , locally owned maybe ? Charming and clean … NO

I had such a terrible allergic reaction to the room I had to leave after half an hour. I did not buy cancellation insurance, so I learned my lesson and will never book a hotel this way again. I am allergic to cats, dust and mold. There were all three allergens in this hotel. The bedding hasn't been updated since the 1960's. Although the carpet had been removed and replaced with laminate, there is still carpet as baseboards that has been there since the 1950's. It was worse than the Bates motel. Bad energy. Old food was left in the fridge in our room. Awful, horrible, terrible worst ever hitel experience.

I stayed here because this was the most “reasonable” price ($169) I could find close to Stratford. I don’t care that the inn/rooms are dated but they could at least upgrade the mattress, bedding and pillows (I got two lumpy pillows). It was very uncomfortable.

We liked that it was quiet for our one night stay, we didnt hear any noise or partying behaviour. I have a feeling that we were given a double bed instead of queen.. seemed tighter than our queen bed at home. I feel like they would benefit if they updated their mattresses... seemed hard and I could feel the springs in the mattress when I was lying down. Overall it wasnt a bad place, it was clean and quiet and good enough for a quick over night stay.

PROS: Staff was quite friendly and allowed us check in early which was much appreciated. Our room was quiet from anything outside. Fridge and A/C units worked well and were quiet. CONS: There was only ONE electrical outlet available to charge phones and it was on the opposite wall of the beds. The TV is mounted quite high and is in one corner which makes it difficult to view. The mattresses seemed old and you could hear the springs move. The toilet seat was not attached to the toilet. The outside doors to enter the building are kept UNlocked so anyone can enter and roam. The keys are returned to an open basket where anyone can pick up a key, make a quick copy, and enter a room later.

Property was clean, but dated. Bed was terrible. Definitely need to upgrade. They were there cheapest one could possibly buy. This is a really inexpensive hotel. Wouldn't stay there again. Easy to get to on a main drag. Easy access to Stratford very few dining options close.

Our BR ceiling leaked water. Also, while in the BR, the metal vent fell on my head. We had to change rooms late at night. We were given a better room. We were told they would take away 1 nights room fee. Never did. Probably won’t return.

This is my second time staying at The Shakespeare Inn and each time has been excellent. The owners are very friendly and competent. The rooms are immaculate and I love that they serve fresh coffee in the morning. I had to request a room on the main floor last minute and they were most gracious and accommodating. Thank you Shakespeare Inn! I will be back!

On check in we were greeted by a voice at the top of the stairs (no person to be seen) saying “can you go away and come back” this was 45minutes after check in time, as we had a wedding to attend the answer was “no we can’t” I called the desk, they answered from somewhere saying they’d be right down, after 15 minutes I called again and finally someone checked us in, terrible impression and absolutely would not go back

We had a wonderful stay. It was an easy 10 min drive to the theatre we went to in Stratford. The room was very clean, well maintained, and the AC worked perfectly. We also appreciated the coffee in the morning. What really stood out was the hospitality... The management went above and beyond by surprising us with balloons and a thoughtful setup in the room for my mom’s 70th birthday. It really made our trip special.

Check in was easy. Arrived at 1pm . Roome was basic but clean. All we needed it for was a place to sleep for the night as we were visiting family having an anniversaey celebration. Rooms were clean. Bed was firm but comfortable. Can't beat the price point for this area. Only 7-10 minutes from Stratford.

this motel is in the quaint town of Shakespeare which is a short distance from Stratford which was our true destination for theatre going. It had ample parking and a clean room. We had no need to interact with any staff except for checking in. Room had heat and air which we never needed to use. Free morning coffee was available.

Rooms are pretty basic but clean and has a fridge with a tiny freezer. It was very quiet! They offer coffee and cookies in the cafe from 7-9 am. Friendly staff that double check that the room is clean before you go in. Very reasonable and only 10 min from Stratford

Property was clean, but dated. Bed was terrible. Definitely need to upgrade. They were there cheapest one could possibly buy. This is a really inexpensive hotel. Wouldn't stay there again. Easy to get to on a main drag. Easy access to Stratford very few dining options close.

Check in was easy , very accommodating they had me booked on the second floor but due to mobility issues I cant do stairs, so they found a room on the first floor for us. The inn was clean. Our room was small, but it served its purpose , it had a decent bed, a fridge, tv and a bathroom. Coffee and cookies were available 24/7 ,with use of a microwave if needed.

This hotel/motel is run down, and has definitely seen better days. The owner or manager (I'm not sure which) was very polite, but the moment you walk into the lobby it has a very strong smell. Nothing has been updated in a long time, so things are getting quite shabby. Upon arriving at our room, the door was open and the tv was on. We weren't sure if someone else had the room, but were told it was ours. Some things were clean, but others were obviously not (carpet not vacuumed, hairs on bathroom floor, mould in the grout around the bathtub, etc). I went to the front desk to ask something around 11:00pm but it was all locked up for the night and no one was there. The photos show a "restaurant", but there is no restaurant at this hotel. We stayed here after going to a play in Stratford. Another time I would just drive further to find a better place to stay, probably for the same price.

It’s a nice quiet and clean motel, about ten minutes drive from the Festival Theatre. They have coffee and cookies available in the morning. If you want a full breakfast either bring your own or go to the nearby Tim Hortons. The room was clean, the AC worked quietly, and similar accommodations in town are sketchy. As a bonus, it’s an easy drive to the St Jacob’s area for shopping, brunch, and you can be back in Stratford for a matinee.

There is no food service on-site, but our room had a fridge so we could store purchased food/leftovers from meals eaten out. Hotel is also a short walk to a local variety store, and a shop called the British Touch which also sells a variety of shelf stable foods. Not to far a drive is also a local ice cream shop selling over 25 flavours of ice cream.
