Budget Inn

Needed a place close to the airport that didn't break the bank. Horrible choice and could not cancel. I choose it last minute, my mistake. The floors were so dirty our feet were black. Dirty yellow couch. Felt to creepy to sit on. The bedspread and sheets are black. Probably because it doesn't show grime. Only 2 pillows. The toilet and shower were clean but the base of the toilet was disgusting Lots of construction going on. Felt unsafe. My skin is still crawling!

In town for the hibiscus festival. Stay was fine just couldnt not get the hot water to work very disappointing at 6 am. Front desk clerk grouchy not social at all. Maybe next stay will be a better experience.

Great place! Older hotel, but recently remodeled. Room was immaculate and very comfortable. Only thing was the toilet was loose. Staff was very courteous and friendly. We will definitely be staying there again!

We've stayed here before & understand that it's an older and inexpensive motel. But this time was disappointing. We arrived to check in around 12:30am because we had just finished loading out from a concert we lit up earlier in the evening. When we went to out room the door was wide open. I don't mean unlocked, WIDE OPEN. After checking the room to make sure it was safe from potential intruders we wanted to take a shower but there was no hot water. Even after running the water for several minutes it was still cold. Whoever cleaned the room missed the Blue Moon beer bottle cap that was in the toiletry basket on the vanity. At least the bed was comfortable. When we woke up we tried to get hot water again with no luck. As we were leaving I stopped at the office and told the person at the front desk who seem very unconcerned about it. When we get rooms reserved, for after we provide lighting production, we're not there for a vacation. Just a good night sleep in a safe room and the ability to get cleaned up after a very long day of work. Last time we stayed here was good. This time may make us reconsider the next time.

Building is old needs updating. Lock on room didn't work had to ne replaced. Owner very accommodating. Tropical setting and decor. Wish Microwave was in room not shared i. Laundry room. Would stay again despite train noise.

A lot was under construction, my room toilet had to be fixed before I could use it.

Unexpected 5 day stay with my 9 year old son. Somewhat dated but clean and convenient. Pool was nice. Clean towels daily brought to the room. Not a lot of amenities on site but several within walking distance.

Room was infested with bed bugs and other bugs in the room. Pubic hairs all over the bathroom. Towels were not clean. Overall filthy and disgusting.

My room is not clean. I had no cups for water no clock. There was no lightbulb in the lamp next to the bed. The shower was not clean and did not take a shower. The floor was sticky and I got bedbugs. I would not recommend anyone to stay at the budget Inn in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Could use a lot of updating and cleaning. My white socks was black after walking from the bed to bathroom. Cleaning is a must. Not happy about that !!!

We checked in and our assigned room was supposed to be no smoking. We had changed our room. The one we were assigned next was better but it still stunk like smoke. I walked barefoot in the room and my feet were filthy. The bed was comfortable. I would not go back.

This place should be condemned. Division of Hotels and Restaurants should and probably will be called on this place. Front door had a 3/4 inch gap from the floor. The bed had only a fitted sheet and stained,cigarette burned cover. The floor needed a scrubbing. The towel bar in the bathroom was replaced with a piece of wire. The bathroom door looked like ithad multiple holes that were patched over with spackle. Most of theelectrical outlets were missing face plates. I could go on, but I will finish by saying I felt so unsafe that I semi-slept with my gun next to me. I chevked out the next day. I could go on but why bother?

Front desk guy was professional, but the room was absolutely the worst ever (see pictures). The room had bugs and MAJOR issues, from sink detaching from counter to large cracks/holes in he wall. It also smelled like smoke, had many people smoking outside their rooms, and people’s personal items outside of rooms.

We booked two hotel rooms and they were both disgusting. One smelled heavily of smoke even though there was a no smoking sign on the door. The sheets had burn holes in them and a dead cockroach was on the floor. Second room had trash in the shower and the white sheets were extremely stainedand also had lots of hair and dead bugs in it

Room was dirty. Numerous worn out items and unprofessional fixes on tile, plumbing, painting and moulding. I killed 4 bugs crawling on the floor/walls during my stay. On the good side, bed was comfortable, sheets and beadspread were worn but clean. The lady at check in was very nice and helpful.

The hotel was so dirty, I left less than an hour after I arrived. When I opened the door entering the room for the first time the cigarette smell was so strong that i immediately turned around and took my clothes back to the car so they wouldn’t stink. I did not feel safe. There’s no way I would have gotten any sleep in the filth and smell. When I turned in my keys to the front desk less than an hour after checking in, the front desk didn’t even question me about leaving. I’m guessing because this happens often. Hotel.com should not sell this property.

Noisy neighbors upstairs moving chairs around at midnight and I just didn’t feel safe.

The door didnt lock properly, the air-conditioning didn't work in my room. And stains on the sheets and pillows. Sadly this was the 2nd room. The gentleman at the desk said it was an upgrade. Didn't feel safe, so i left.

Another perfect stay at Budget Inn Punta Gorda! The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location is super convenient. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

We checked in late to the property, the room had a leak, straight into the bed, so it was wet, it was so humid the floors were also wet, the room smelled like cigarettes smoke, and the A/C didn’t function properly; there was also noise of people all night outside our room. Do not recommend.

The rooms were large and clean. Reasonable price. Friendly staff. Andrea greeted us in the lobby upon arrival. Check-in was smooth. Andrea really went Above and beyond to make us feel comfortable answer any questions we had durring our stay. Whenever we say her on the properly, she always has a smile on her face. We made our day to see someone joy helping the guest pride in her job. She’s really an asset to the establishment enter a positive attitude made this the hotel that we will stay at from now on when we are visiting Punta Gorda.

The room had a foul odor, a/c was not turned on prior to my arrival and took literally hours to cool down. The rooms are outdated and seem to have furniture from the original build. The bathroom sink was cracked although not leaking, the room door had daylight streaming through the opening (ie, no weather stripping or other sealant); not even a lawn chair provided to sit outside on balcony to escape the old, musty smell of the room. Ashes visible upon arrival on the chest which tv was sitting, smell of someone smoking pot in another room but you can’t smoke in the rooms! No instruction upon arrival for anything other than location of room. Only positive is I had a heavy bag and an employee carried it to the second floor for me. Would not recommend—I’m not a person who needs much luxury—but this place needs a complete overhaul! Will never book again. Pictures are not accurate!

We pulled in and the clerk said he gave our rooms away and was very smug about it. Said he wasn’t going to refund us - because we booked on Expedia. It felt very much like a scam. We asked where we should go (it’s 10pm) he said “good luck” and continued to smoke

They gave our room away before we got there - had to find another hotel.

We didn't stay. It's was unclean, unsafe, unkept. Check in took about 20 minutes - clerk didn't know what kind of room we booked because their system doesn't show that - gave us keys from our room (yes, keys not cards), door was not closed, bathroom was unsanitary, non-smoking room smelled of smoke & bed appeared to have been recently slept in/not freshly made. Booked elsewhere - dropped keys in the drop box. Called hotels.com to discuss & attempt a refund - since we didn't checkout in person with the desk clerk - the property refused a refund. Watching expenses is OK - but this place is NOT worth ANY amount of savings. JUST DON'T
