We had a great stay at the Wychwood inn. Great welcome and customer service through out our visit. The inn is in a great location just 2 miles from Diddly Squat Farm and scenic quaint Cotswold villages and towns. The inn has lots of lovely cosy corners to sit both inside and outside in the lovely garden. The food was good and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning . We will definately visit again.

Great location, evening food ok, breakfast slow and average. Room was tired and hot. Bathroom has no ventilation, dirty towel, broken tile in shower, dripping tap, floor felt as though there had been a leak so was rotting, and smelt of mold. Other rooms may of been better so can’t comment on them, but this was allegedly the luxury room!! Stains on curtains and duvet cover, plastic mugs with no handles for the tea/coffee tray and they were dirty and grubby. No toiletries in the bathroom apart from one half used shower gel . I could go on but you get the drift. The downstairs pub restaurant was nice. In summary , location was really good but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Lovely hotel & stay on the way to Southampton from the north. All very clean- looked to have recently been refurbished. Enjoyed the food- evening meal & breakfast. All tasty & well cooked. Felt the pie of the day was a bit expensive for pie, but it did taste good, lots of filling. Room cosy, lovely bathroom & comfy bed. No room for luggage- only there one night so didn't really matter. Yes would go again, quaint town & near Cotswolds.

This was a good central location in The Cotswolds to explore from if you have an automobile. Nice, comfortable room. Really good restaurant on site and nice grounds to enjoy (although the weather did not allow that experience).

Great location for us staying at Diddley Squat Farm. Parking was easy and the gardens were very pretty. The check out desk isn't open until 8 am, however, if you are aiming for an early departure.

Traditional pub & inn with above average pub food with some of the best fish & chips we had during our trip. Could use a bit of a spruce-up on the room windows and outside tables, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rate the staff and chef as excellent

We very much enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Inn with our two dogs. Our room was large, comfortable, quiet, restful and ideally situated near the garden for our dogs. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The breakfasts, service and evening meals were excellent and good value. The garden was peaceful and available to residents and non/residents. This was popular and clearly enjoyed for socialising by non-residents, even though our stay was early in the season and garden facilities not fully in use. Safe car parking spaces were provided though could be in demand during the daytime if Inn was busy with visiting non-residents. On the whole, a very enjoyable stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend to friends and family alike.

Noises in the garden but we were disturbed by noise from other rooms. Very thin walls we could hear he people above us walking about & speaking loudly. Second night the noisy squeaky bed. Small attention to detail like cleaner leaving the used cups in our room & not replenishing the towel nor bath mat in our room.

Excellent stay, very clean ,staff very friendly, food very nice, only one thing is they advertise check in is from 3pm but when we got there it was all locked up and the opening times on the door was 4pm

Quiet location and easy to get to. Having a restaurant for an evening meal was helpful. Friendly staff. Good shower room. However, the room is very small and over priced for the size. There is nowhere to put a suitcase except on the bed. The only place to hang clothes were 2 coat hooks screwed to the wall and high up. The bedside tables were much higher than the bed which made it difficult to use when lying in bed. The matress was ok but had a lean to the outside edge. The only seat is a small stall under the dressing table. This is the cheapest of the 5 rooms. No bath mat was provided so we had to ask for one the second night. Although the room was clean , the skirting boards and windowsills needed a clean. The cooked breakfast was ok but we've had better. The small table wasn't cleared after having cereal before bringing our cooked breakfast. We were the only guests having breakfast the second morning so it wasn't as if they were rushed off their feet!! Overall, a very disappointing stay. I know prices have gone up but I expected a lot more for a 4 star rating.

Weekend away in the Cotswolds. Lovely pub restaurant and hotel. Lovely welcome. Room was great and huge bathroom. My pillow was a bit lumpy. Would have been nice to have the option of decaff tea and coffee in the room and at breakfast. Breakfast was lovely.

Lovely place and surroundings are beautiful. It could do with a little updating, and if you’re looking for Wi-Fi, you could be sorely disappointed. The breakfast menu is very limited and Service slightly lacking in this area.

We had two rooms booked - one double and one king. We had not issues with the king room however our friends in the double room had issues with the smell of sewage during their stay, which made it difficul to sleep at night. We were attending the Wilderness festival so luckily only needed the rooms for rest at night. Our friends did complain and asked to be moved, but the place was booked up, so had to live with the problem the whole four days. The B&B confirmed they are aware of the problem however not able to fix it as must be done by the water company, who has tried a few times, however guests are still able to book this room where the smell can pop up at any time. Not a great experience and hence will not book here again when in the area.

Excellent stay, very clean ,staff very friendly, food very nice, only one thing is they advertise check in is from 3pm but when we got there it was all locked up and the opening times on the door was 4pm

Lovely place and surroundings are beautiful. It could do with a little updating, and if you’re looking for Wi-Fi, you could be sorely disappointed. The breakfast menu is very limited and Service slightly lacking in this area.

Visited 12/09/2025 for a one night stay. We cannot faulg this lovely hotel. Hattie and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Staff were so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had breakfast early as we have an early start one day. I can not fault anything with this stay, our room was stunning.

Quiet location and easy to get to. Having a restaurant for an evening meal was helpful. Friendly staff. Good shower room. However, the room is very small and over priced for the size. There is nowhere to put a suitcase except on the bed. The only place to hang clothes were 2 coat hooks screwed to the wall and high up. The bedside tables were much higher than the bed which made it difficult to use when lying in bed. The matress was ok but had a lean to the outside edge. The only seat is a small stall under the dressing table. This is the cheapest of the 5 rooms. No bath mat was provided so we had to ask for one the second night. Although the room was clean , the skirting boards and windowsills needed a clean. The cooked breakfast was ok but we've had better. The small table wasn't cleared after having cereal before bringing our cooked breakfast. We were the only guests having breakfast the second morning so it wasn't as if they were rushed off their feet!! Overall, a very disappointing stay. I know prices have gone up but I expected a lot more for a 4 star rating.

We had a great stay at the Wychwood inn. Great welcome and customer service through out our visit. The inn is in a great location just 2 miles from Diddly Squat Farm and scenic quaint Cotswold villages and towns. The inn has lots of lovely cosy corners to sit both inside and outside in the lovely garden. The food was good and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning . We will definately visit again.

Lovely hotel & stay on the way to Southampton from the north. All very clean- looked to have recently been refurbished. Enjoyed the food- evening meal & breakfast. All tasty & well cooked. Felt the pie of the day was a bit expensive for pie, but it did taste good, lots of filling. Room cosy, lovely bathroom & comfy bed. No room for luggage- only there one night so didn't really matter. Yes would go again, quaint town & near Cotswolds.

Great location for us staying at Diddley Squat Farm. Parking was easy and the gardens were very pretty. The check out desk isn't open until 8 am, however, if you are aiming for an early departure.

Great location, evening food ok, breakfast slow and average. Room was tired and hot. Bathroom has no ventilation, dirty towel, broken tile in shower, dripping tap, floor felt as though there had been a leak so was rotting, and smelt of mold. Other rooms may of been better so can’t comment on them, but this was allegedly the luxury room!! Stains on curtains and duvet cover, plastic mugs with no handles for the tea/coffee tray and they were dirty and grubby. No toiletries in the bathroom apart from one half used shower gel . I could go on but you get the drift. The downstairs pub restaurant was nice. In summary , location was really good but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Traditional pub & inn with above average pub food with some of the best fish & chips we had during our trip. Could use a bit of a spruce-up on the room windows and outside tables, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rate the staff and chef as excellent

Very nice hotel, with nice rooms and a nice friendly bar/restaurant. Top notch breakfast included. Easy free parking Only downside is the bar closes mid week at 9pm, so not ideal if you are arriving late and want a drink

Room was spacious and clean . Large bed and bathroom. One of the best stopped in. No fault of hotel but there is fairly high step down into the bathroom from the bedroom so an older person with slight mobility issues like ourselves found it a bit of a difficulty, especially if you need a toilet during the night. A small grab bar on the wall would have been so helpful. Excellent shower but again, a grab bar would be useful as quite slippery. Staff were nice and bar also nice. Breakfast..hmm..mixed feelings..The service was friendly enough but server was embarrased having to keep apologising for items not available. No baked beans on 2 mornings, nor white or brown bread 2 mornings, only sourdough available. Yoghurts on first morning but none on the next 3 mornings. Some breakfast requests from other guests were also not available including no brown sauce! Not the end of the world i know but felt for the serving staff having to apologise all the time. The food was cooked ok but served on cold plates which meant it went cold halfway through eating. The same on the one evening we eat..food served on cold plates. Why cant plates be warmed a little? My fish and chips quite nice but my wifes Linguine pasta was watery and far too spicy which she was NOT warned about. Not all bad though as the chef made me custard instead of the ice cream for my excellent Apple Crumble! Again though, no Burgers available on the night! Overall, a bit mixed but staff were very nice!

Great place to stay. The pub from downstairs wasnt too noisy and the room i was staying in was directly at the stop of the stairs. Rooms are a good size and bathroom was huge. Bath was massive. Staff were really help. A genuinely really nice place to stay.

The property was well positioned. The Cotswolds are BUSY, so it was great to have somewhere to stay out of the busyness. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was a great size (room 2). No aircon which was an issue in the latest heatwave. The staff did try to help by putting a fan in the room. We used the restaurant for dinner and there was a wide selection of choices. This can also be said about breakfast.
