Mullions 51 B&B

I was on a Lands End to John O'Groat cycle trip, and this hotel was an excellent stopover point. It was not too far off the National Cycle route. Friendly and helpful staff, a fine breakfast and comfortable bed. Hotel provided safe and secure storage for my bike.

Steep stairs leading to rooms, not suitable for people with limited mobility. Room was extremely warm, window had been shut all day on one of the hottest days of the year. Pillows were so thin they may as well not bothered putting them on the bed. Breakfast choices were plentiful and varied, good service however the table was extremely sticky and felt unclean. Limited parking in on site car park. Convenient for visiting Street/Glastonbury and surrounding areas.

Amazing period featured property, staff excellent, checking, breakfast and bar staff all great. Breakfast choice great and cooked to perfection. Property has parking and literally 2 minutes walk to Clark’s village. Only downside for us was bed/pillows not overly comfortable, I guess could be personal choice. Would recommend staying at the property.

Nice comfortable hotel with easy parking. Fairly central with other bars and restaurants nearby. (The restaurant here isn't open every night) Excellent breakfast.

Very welcoming and comfortable stay, delicious food, great staff, great location. Will definitely return. And dog friendly which is why we chose this hotel first.

On arrival found car park a bit uneven, but plenty of spaces. The initial observation was not as good as the photos on the website. Check in was quick and easy but stairs to rooms looked a bit tatty. Room was big and very clean and so was bathroom. The only comment is the TV was very small by normal hotel standards. The breakfast was excellent and exceeded expectations. Great value for money and would go back again.

Really quirky old building, rooms were good, clean and bed very comfortable, it is on the Main Street but that did not bother us and is excellent for Clark’s Village and shops with added bonus of car parking at rear. Would definitely come back.

Very charming B & B having restaurant and pub with friendly staff. Room was also comfortable and Breakfast superb. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately not a pleasant stay. The location is ideal to visit Clarks Village and town centre however overall Mullions lacks basic standards and management. On arrival in the car park guests are greeted with overflowing bins, run down outbuilding and a untidy entrance which hasn’t been tidied in weeks probably longer. The unmanned reception is behind the bar and whilst the bar man was friendly he obviously hasn’t any formal training in greeting guests! A warning that the internet has problems “that day” is frankly unbelievable as in the room and in the public areas there is no signal whatsoever, and if a freak connection occurs it disappears instantly. The room was large but totally stark with bare walls and not a picture or plant to decorate. The ceiling lights were ridiculously bright despite two lights being out in the room, another out in the bathroom and one bedside light not working at all despite a change of bulb. Number 11 also has a damp smell, (previous guest review confirms) caused by mold on the outside wall which is clearly visible. The bed was large and fairly comfortable and bed linen clean. The public areas, ie the pub itself, are in need of redecoration and repair in places and give an impression of lack of care. The breakfast room was fine, all table service and was acceptable but overall very basic by today’s hospitality standards. We were only making a quick overnight stop so no point wasting time making a big issue but it could be so much better!

The rooms were very clean, and the staff polite and friendly. The food was lovely and home cooked. Lots of safe parking. I would stay again.

Location was great. The decor is very dated and reminded me of a 1950s guest house. A trip to IKEA would suffice to modernise the furniture. I know it's an old building but the furniture doesn't have to be the same The carpets are threadbare and definitely need replacing We didn't have hot water for the 2 mornings we stayed . On the positive side the bed linen was lovely and clean and fresh and overall the room was very clean. The staff were great. The inclusive breakfast was really good quality and well cooked. It was a bit noisy our fault for not taking this into account when booking a pub.

The room was very clean and had excellent lighting (not often the case nowadays). Staff very polite and efficient. Excellent breakfast as well. Would certainly use again.

On a positive side. Staff were really lovely. Very helpful and professional. Fantastic food. Great breakfasts here. Have Stayed numerous times over the years. Sometimes alone, sometimes with husband. Stayed in a horrid room this time unfortunately. (Room 20)It had Clean bedding but filthy inner stained pillow. Didn't dare investigate the duvet inner, or mattress. Shabby bathroom, with not up to scratch decor. Broken toilet roll holder. Broken mirror. Cracked windows. Dirty windows. Brocken locks & catches. No chains on the bath sink plugs, I had to dig these out with the end of a spoon to drain the water out. Kettle was so full of crunchy limescale. Filthy TV remote control. This room was a cheap standard single room. Through Expedia. Thoroughly disappointed. Didn't want to complain as it was cheap. You get what you pay for. I have stayed at much nicer decorated rooms at this property. Hopefully a little money can be spent on refreshing the basics.

Spotlessly clean very friendly brilliant location excellent value for money!

Avoid room 11. The room smelt and felt damp. Bathroom smelt of cigarette smoke. Didn't know which was worse. Carpet felt damp to walk on. No bathmat provided. Basic room. The food was good and the staff were very nice. The smells in the room were just horrible. No staff on reception at check out, so just left.

Room 17. Lots of banging from either cellar door or bar area toilet doors from downstairs. Very disappointed. Also, one curtain is not wide enough to close across one window. We had to use a throw from the bed to block out the light.

We had a very nice twin room with ensuite shower room, all looked newly refurbished. The fan in the room was very much appreciated as it was a very hot day. The staff were all very helpful and efficient. The dining room was pleasant and the breakfast was very good. The other areas were in need of some refurbishment.

Room was basic but good for the price with a comfortable bed and nice shower. There was a noisy compressor or such like that ran for a couple of minutes frequently through the night. Luckily I got enough sleep.

Car park has potholes so deep we caught out skirts even driving slowly. The carpet on the stairs to the first floor is threadbare to the point it will door be dangerous. The room was large and clean but very cold. Located right above the bar and with no sound insulation you could hear every conversation below. The sounds of barrels was the last draw and we left around 2am.

Interior downstairs and carpets are rather worn and tired but the room was clean, lovely large comfortable single bed and big, clean ensuite with plenty of hot water. Breakfast service was friendly and food generous. As it was a lovely warm evening the terrace was quite noisy but room was very quiet after closing time.

Room was ok…finishes were ok…some things looked great, others needed a lot of work. TV was pointless….way too small for the size of the room couldn’t see the screen when sat on the bed. Bed was comfy but not a king size as advertised when I booked. Iron had seen better days and ironing board was missing a proper cover so lust left marks. Breakfast was amazing! Couldn't fault the food. Location was also great and staff were friendly.

Fabulous breakfast, friendly team and so convenient for outlet shops and local attractions. Floors creaky, room was ok for the price but very soft beds compared to what we are used to. Nice touch to have shampoo and shower gel and lovely bright white new looking towels . Shower was lovely once we worked out how to get hot water. A bit of noise from the bar outside as people left and arrived but to be expected when you stay in a pub popular with the locals. Convenient parking at the back of the pub.

I liked my stay at this quaint B&B. The breakfasts were excellent & it had a nice pub-restaurant attached here locals (& their dogs hang) with good beers & ciders on tap. My room was very small but perfect for just me. Americans need to be mindful that it’s European standard in a quant older building. The bathroom had been updated, which was nice. My only complaint is the pillows were paper thin and even with one on top of another it barely equals a regular size pillow. This is something I would recommend management rectify. But all in all I enjoyed my stay!

The room was nice, number 8, a single. Bed comfortable and a good size, room a decent size, a very good shower and en suit in general very good. It could all do with a thorough cleaning but it wasn't too bad. Breakfast was excellent. But it could be very noisy. With very very thin walls so noise from rooms next door or below came straight through. My first night there was awful - late arrivals, door banging, voices, loud TV. Then loud snoring for hours in the night. Then more door banging and voices at 6.30am. Not much sleep that first night. Second night started badly with someone in the next room arriving late and making weird noises, loud voices, banging etc. Thankfully this did stop after I repeatedly banged on the wall (which felt very flimsy as I banged on it!). Third night was mostly peaceful. Overall a nice place if you get lucky with the noise. But if you are unlucky, take ear plugs if you can use them (unfortunately I can't use them).

We had a very pleasant stay. The young man at reception when we checked in was amazingly helpful and friendly and even though we quite late arriving, still provided us with a meal. He is a very excellent addition to your staff. We highly recommend a stay at Mullions!!

Initially booked for a 3 night stay but extended for extra night. Staff extremely helpful, building warm and rooms very comfortable. Overall an excellent find and we will definitely return.

Helpful and friendly staff who carried my bag up to the 2nd floor for me

I was grateful that my gluten intolerance was accommodated and I had a very nice breakfast. All staff friendly and helpful. It was very useful that the rooms are ready to check in at 2pm because I have ME and need to rest in the afternoons.

Everything was absolutely outstanding and so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing and delicious. We definitely recommend and shall be returning without a doubt.

Very pleasant place. Good parking, clean, tidy. Simple but that’s a good thing. Slow on the check in with emphasis on serving punters at the bar rather than giving me my keys, but otherwise, very good. Would return.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in the last nine months, and it is excellent. The staff, rooms and especially the food they serve is excellent. Make sure you are hungry as the portions are large. I would recommend Mullions 51 to anytime, to stay or have a meal. I hope to stay there again in October.

An older building; interesting; good off road parking and friendly staff. Walkable to Glastonbury Abbey: reasonable transit and Clark Village outlet - Thursday market.

Good position on main street, food excellent but other options available on main street if you don't want to eat in every evening.

Really enjoyable stay. Nice spacious room with everything you need for a short break. Comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly made to order. My husband had the mushroon and cheese omelette which was lovely. I had the full English which was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms and fried bread that came with it were the best i have ever tasted. Location excellent for the high street and Clarks Village. We managed to park in the car park each day, but it was quite full every day. Clarks village has parking though which is quite reasonably priced.

We have stayed at Mullions about five times now. It’s ideal for Clark’s village and the town. A typical English house pub, with lovely accommodation and the staff are so welcoming. Plus the food is great. Thanks for another great visit.

Friendly welcome, good sized room, great shower/bath and a good sized bathroom. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff and all very friendly. Decoration could do with freshening up, Now to the food WOW! The food was excellent both the evening meals and breakfast. Great portion sizes for a very healthy appetite. We had planned to venture out the 2nd night and eat elsewhere but after the 1st nights meal was so good we ate here the 2nd night and it didn't disappoint. A great place to stay and great value for money, will defiantly return. Great location for Clarks village.

The best breakfast menu at a B&B we've had as vegans. There were so many options and the portions were generous, cooked well. Our dog was also able to join us in the breakfast room. I couldn't ask for more! The building is very old (which is lovely), making it difficult to get our disabled dog and her mobility device up and down 3 flights of narrow stairs, but we were thankful to have a room to share with our dog. A ground-floor accommodation for people with dogs would be helpful in such situations. My partner threw out his back on the 2nd day. Would be nice to have oat milk in the tea/coffee station. The staff were unusually pleasant, and the B&B is local to city center as well as the bus stop to Glastonbury. There is a park right next door to the B&B, so easy to get my dog to potty.

This B&B was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast were generous portions. I recommend the eveing menu, especially the Pork Belly, the piece of pork belly was huge. Only downside was that there was no towel rail in bathroom or bath mat. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Street area.
