The property is in a truly historic town in its own right and a short drive into Galway town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, good menu and restaurant bar. Ample guest parking.

Absolutely loved this place. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Off street parking and a short walk to shops bars and restaurants. Free breakfast was great. This is everything we imagined an Irish guest house to be.

This was our favorite stay!! Everyone was kind, room was PERFECT. The bed was so comfortable, got the best sleep. The shower too was spacious and hot with changeable pressure! It had a downstairs bar/diner that had live music but could hear nothing in your room! Breakfast was also a banger! Lol Great find. The place was decorated in beautiful antiques and was full of charm.

Location was great. Bed in room 3 was an old mattress with a topper on top of it to hide the fact. Sank into the bed, very uncomfortable all night. Rolled into the middle. Overall all the hotel is dated and carpets wearing thin in places. Food, can’t fault it. Even meal was amazing and very reasonable prices. Breakfast was brilliant. Overall, I’d love to have not commented about the bed, sadly let the hotel down.

Generally a nice place on the ground floor, breakfast was fine. Once when you go up the old carpeted stairs and squeeze into room 8, table lamps don’t work neither would they with the old type pins. No way can you put 3 adults in this room. Then you see the en-suite, I have wardrobes bigger than this! The basin has no plug so you can’t wash in it. In fairness there is a large bathroom but no indication that room 8 can use it! No milk in room either I could go on but no point.

Definitely not a 4 Star Hotel, old and dated and some of the squeakiest floorboards I have walked on in room 5, although room 4 wasn’t far behind. A wet towel was left in amongst the clean towels, water left in the kettle, 1 sachet of coffee in room, no milk, tho the was rectified after a visit to reception. Good selection of cereals and juice at breakfast but no menu to select a cooked breakfast from.

Una bettola, il peggior albergo in cui siamo mai stati. Una TRUFFA dal momento che abbiamo pagato per dormire e non abbiamo dormito! La struttura è talmente vecchia che se i vicini camminano nella loro stanza scricchiolano e si muovono le assi nella tua; se si accende la tv in una stanza è come averla nella propria; se c'è una festa al pub al pianterreno è come averla nella propria stanza. In tre notti abbiamo sperimentato tutto questo e quando, al culmine dell'esasperazione, volevamo parlare con la proprietaria, si è negata fino alla nostra partenza. Il personale della reception, nel momento in cui abbiamo fatto notare quanto sopra, ha avuto il coraggio di dire che non era a conoscenza della rumorosità delle stanze, ma basta veramente fare un passo in una e si muovono le assi nell'altra, impossibile che non lo sappiano! Se questo non bastasse, aggiungo che la stanza era anche in pendenza, la tavoletta del wc non lo copriva per intero, la tovaglia sul tavolino con il bollitore e le tazze era sporca di caffé/té dei precedenti ospiti e non è mai stata cambiata, gli asciugamani ci sono stati cambiati solo una volta, il secchio del bagno non aveva neanche una busta, le prese elettriche erano solo dietro i comodini, a colazione hanno bruciato il mio toast e invece di rifarmelo me lo hanno nascosto sotto le uova strapazzate, il wifi in stanza non funzionava. Potrei andare avanti ma ho finito lo spazio. Uno schifo.

Small hotel with only 11 rooms. Friendly staff. Quick check-in/check-out. Typical Irish breakfast where you can make extra requests like scrambled eggs, fried eggs, toast. The 3 bed-room is directly above the kitchen and unfortunately they had left the windows open so the whole room smelled extremely of fat from the deep fryer. As the hotel was fully booked we couldn't get another room. All our clothes in the suitcases stank of fat.

Staff really friendly and room was fine although the ensuite was tiny. Nothing major on the wrong side, but very dated and cluttered. The breakfast was the worst thing, .no fruit, limted cerials and the full irish was the worst I have ever had, one overcooked egg, cocktail sausages, and 2 breaded meaty things that oozed fat. No beans, tomatoes, mushrooms or anything vaguely vegetable. The bacon and black pudding was fine.

Lovely old fashioned downstairs with bar and where they serve a full Irish breakfast. It’s a very old building and the floorboards in the bedrooms creak and you can hear the people in the next room. Interesting old town in someways and not at all touristy.

Lovely staff! So personable. We loved the “emergency” waitress who came in to help serve in the bar/restaurant on Culture Day evening. What a gift to both customers & the hotel staff! Kind & helpful young woman at morning breakfast. We highly recommend this small hotel if you value friendly service & caring staff & owner.

A definite recommendation! Friendly courteous staff. Clean rooms. Tasty breakfast. We checked in a little earlier than was expected and completely forgot when we were due to check out but we were met with a smile and told no problem. Gave us some good recommendations for places nearby to eat and how to get the train to Galway. You won’t regret it when you stay at New Park!! Two thumbs up… way up!

We stayed here for five nights - the staff at New Park were exceptional - always happy and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They made our stay very enjoyable. The Hotel has a family atmosphere.

When I booked the hotel I advised them that it would be a late arrival and submitted two phone numbers in case they needed to make contact. On arrival the gate was closed and entry was not possible to park my vehicle. On attempting to contact by phone there was no answer. I had no choice but to continue to Galway to find alternative accommodation as I had an 08.00 appointment the following morning. When a refund was requested as entry was not possible it was refused. This stay was on a commute from Dublin to Galway for work purposes. Extremely disappointing, I do not recommend staying at New Park Hotel Athenry.

Really appreciated the early check in, had requested if possible and the room was ready. Decent sized room with TV, tea, coffe and kettle. WE had stated breakfast aat 10om, the latest time. We came down and 09:50 and the cereals were being cleared away, two other tooms came down after. A menue for breakfast would be good also just to see what items are available. They told us of a full Irish, a vegetarian breakast but we didn't know what was in these when we ordered. Great location and handy to have a free car park

Had booked 3 rooms for weekend stay with family. Location is superb and in the heart of town. Check-in was straightforward and quick. Rooms are comfortable and clean, albeit possibly a little dated. Food was excellent for breakfast and dinner with a great range of choices to please everyone. The staff were extremely helpful and caring, especially when my elderly father took a bit of a fall. Would happily stay again & recommend for anybody visiting the area.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We were not able to get breakfast the first day as we had to be out of the hotel before 8 so that was disappointing. But the second morning we were able to take advantage of the wonderful breakfast. The location was great for getting into Galway. Highly recommend.

The property is in a truly historic town in its own right and a short drive into Galway town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, good menu and restaurant bar. Ample guest parking.

Staffs are really good. Except for that nothing is appealing about this place. If you don't have a place to stay and want to crash in for one night then this is okay to stay. There is no lock for the toilet, if you squeeze in a little you could fit yourself in the shower:( The Place itself is located in a prime locality where you have Aldi in a min walk and a good few restaurants and Tesco within 3-5 mins drive.

Location was great. Bed in room 3 was an old mattress with a topper on top of it to hide the fact. Sank into the bed, very uncomfortable all night. Rolled into the middle. Overall all the hotel is dated and carpets wearing thin in places. Food, can’t fault it. Even meal was amazing and very reasonable prices. Breakfast was brilliant. Overall, I’d love to have not commented about the bed, sadly let the hotel down.

Definitely not a 4 Star Hotel, old and dated and some of the squeakiest floorboards I have walked on in room 5, although room 4 wasn’t far behind. A wet towel was left in amongst the clean towels, water left in the kettle, 1 sachet of coffee in room, no milk, tho the was rectified after a visit to reception. Good selection of cereals and juice at breakfast but no menu to select a cooked breakfast from.

Staff really friendly and room was fine although the ensuite was tiny. Nothing major on the wrong side, but very dated and cluttered. The breakfast was the worst thing, .no fruit, limted cerials and the full irish was the worst I have ever had, one overcooked egg, cocktail sausages, and 2 breaded meaty things that oozed fat. No beans, tomatoes, mushrooms or anything vaguely vegetable. The bacon and black pudding was fine.

Nice stay on our way back from the cliffs of Moher to Dublin. The New Park Hotel has the best brown soda bread....breafast overall was great. Nice rooms and nice for kids too. Thanks to the staff we had a great stay and a good rest! Parking right in the back/side. Assuming i am able to get that wsy again, i would stay again and also try to visit the old church ruins. God bless the staff!

This was our favorite stay!! Everyone was kind, room was PERFECT. The bed was so comfortable, got the best sleep. The shower too was spacious and hot with changeable pressure! It had a downstairs bar/diner that had live music but could hear nothing in your room! Breakfast was also a banger! Lol Great find. The place was decorated in beautiful antiques and was full of charm.

By far the most disappointing hotel stay of our Ireland trip. Room was visibly worn and poorly maintained. Multiple visible stains on bedding, bed area and upholstered furniture (see photos). Contrast-enhanced versions of some photos uploaded because several stains were less visible on camera than in person. After we complained, replacement bedding was placed on the carpet before being used on the bed, while a staff member was walking on it with outdoor shoes. As a family travelling with a child, we lost confidence in the hotel's hygiene standards and checked out the next morning despite having booked 3 nights. We accepted payment for the first night and only requested a refund for the 2 unused nights. Hotel later confirmed by email that the third night would be refunded. We replied requesting reconsideration of the second unused night. No response to that request. A further follow-up asking about the promised refund also received no response. At the time of writing, 11 days later, the promised refund has still not been received. Relevant photos and email correspondence have been uploaded. Everyone can make mistakes. What matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, both the room condition and the handling of our complaint were deeply disappointing. No help from Expedia, only repeated cancellation policy.
