Budget Inn - Saint Augustine

Newly remodeled rooms and bathrooms. Staff was very courteous and friendly. The conversion of the old pool to a sitting area works amazingly with the hotel. Will definitely stay again

Well placed motel just a short walk over bridge to Old Town. Free parking. Easy access to eateries and things to see and do. Check in staff very pleasant and helpful

We stayed here October 2025 price was $88 for a Thursday night. One night stay. Small room with small bathroom but enough for one night. Refrigerator and coffee maker. The air conditioner was small but kept the room very cold. Nice TV. Nice floor. Lots of parking. You can walk over the bridge of Lions to the shopping area The walk is about 15 minutes. Perfect for what we needed

Park at your door. Owners on site. Very reasonably priced. Comfortable bed, clean, plenty of hot water, safe area and convenient to get into St Augustine. Will stay again.

The location is fantastic. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. All of the touristy stuff is also a short walk across the Bridge of Lions. The proprietors are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is obviously managed and maintained with love. Our room was updated and very clean. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds and pillows were great. There is also a cute courtyard area in the middle with tables, chairs, swings, a grill, and ashtrays available if you are a smoker.

This is such a gem of a hotel in walking distance to downtown. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Parking is convenient- just across from room. Very clean. Walkable to historic downtown. It's better not to drive your car to historic downtown. Walk from the hotel and stay in historic downtown the entire day and walk back. Con- The restaurants near the hotel are too pricey.

Property was decent but parking was tight. If you are traveling with a trailer or truck the parking is not to accommodating.

No frills...just good accompdation,10 min walk to town center. No breakfast.

The rooms were nice and up-to-date. What you saw in the pictures was what you got. The lighted seating area outside was a great place to sit at night and just enjoy the evening.

All I’m gonna say about the room is that we had to pull the two twin beds together and when we did, we had approximately six dead cockroaches under the bed. We checked in early and they already charged my credit card although we were going to split the cost with family members. The manager refused to reverse the charges. By the time we noticed the cockroaches it was already too late to have any type of discussion We just cleaned up the floor on our own and got out as soon as we could.

Not as clean as advertised. Shower soap and shampoo empty. Switched rooms due to shower with mold.

Dirty, hair in the shower from the previous person. Unnecessary table, poor quality bedding. Disgusting

Bed was good, pillows not so good. A few dining options in area - BlackFly Restaurant was excellent & Hornski’s was great. Room 124 air conditioner was horrible; it ran all night & extremely noisy with an on and off humming noise - made it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Shower curtain rod was very rusty, caulk around bottom of toilet was moldy and no blind on bathroom window allowing light to shine in room all night - had to close bathroom door. Not a bad place to stay for the price we paid, but wouldn’t stay again.

the cleanest hotel room I’ve been to in this town & less than $100!

We spent a week driving up and down the Florida coast, staying at various hotels and motels along the way. Some were higher priced than this one, and some were lower priced. I really hoped this place would live up to its mostly positive reviews, despite what you might normally expect from a place called the "Budget Inn". I wasn't expecting anything fancy, obviously, but I draw the line at cleanliness. The beds were full of hairs, leading me to believe that the sheets may not have been washed. But even worse was that after walking around the room a bit with his shoes off, the soles of my 18-year-old son's white socks were black. To make sure that the dirt and grime wasn't from something else, I grabbed a white washcloth from the bathroom, stood on it with one foot and "skated" around the room for about 30 seconds. Sure enough, when I stopped, it was filthy. Clearly, they hadn't cleaned the hard flooring in a very long time. It's too bad, as the location is very convenient to downtown. You just have to cross the Lions Bridge and you're in the heart of St. Augustine. But I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel is very conveniently located to walk to the historic district. Loved the clean rooms and A/C. Great for showering and sleeping and then out to explore. Thanks!

What a find! We decided last minute to spend the night in St. Augustine to see the lights so we had limited lodging choices in the historic downtown area. This spot was affordable, walkable, and CLEAN! Everything in the room was spotless, they use the shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower and hand soap dispense in the bathroom so there is no additional waste from tiny plastic bottles. The place has obviously been renovated and the staff was really friendly and visible around the property cleaning in the morning when we checked out. It is clear the owners take a lot of pride in this establishment and we will absolutely stay here again for future trips. The walk over the bridge into town is gorgeous and there are several restaurants right in the area. You can easily park and walk anywhere from this location. Excellent choice!

The room smelled humidity, the bed were not the best

The bed was comfortable & the room was clean. Easily walkable to St Augustine’s historic district. The noise from the road could get loud, but once I was asleep I didn’t hear it

The faculty is updated and clean. It's an easy, beautiful walk across the bridge of lions to the heart of downtown St. Augustine. Room was updated and very clean except the windows which were quite dirty. The setting sun shining through them amplified just how dirty they were. Fan on AC/ heating unit had only one speed, not three as indicated on the controls. Bed was comfy. Bathroom is tight but has a very large shower. Some bath linens were dingy and worn but clean. Overall a nice place for a reasonable price in a great location. We would stay there again.

The staff was wonderful and took great care of us. They let us check in very early. We got a soda and a water - $2.00 each at the on-site vending machine. The only downside was that the walls are very thin and we could hear our drunk neighbors at 3am partying. We could also hear major traffic noise from the busy road. Easy 10 minute walk across the bridge to see the holiday lights.

On driving up, my first impression was that my GPS took me to the wrong place. What I saw was a 1950's style row motel. I pulled over checked, and yes, we were where we were supposed to be. Checking in the manager was very helpful, very friendly and explained things. For the most part. The room had been updated, clean, tiled floor (carpet is usually dirty, I prefer tile). The bed was sort of lopsided, linens clean. Turning on the heat was a challenge to get it working. A window heat cooling unit with the loudest fan I've ever heard even on the lowest speed. Just under the DBs of my lawn mower. Running the hot water for 4-5 minutes got actual hot water. In order to sleep, we tried warming up the room, this is in Florida, and shutting the heat off because of the racket when it kicks on and off. It's not possible to sleep. The building must have no insulation, we were cold in 15 minutes. I can sleep cold, my wife can't. She put the bathroom towels on top of the covers and slept in her clothes. It was 50 degrees outside, maybe 5 degrees warmer inside. Paper thin walls, woke up cold and listening to the (German?) couple in the next room in some discussion- he had a bad cough. The staff is pleasant, the property very clean. If you stay when it's 68-72 at night you may be fine. Oh, and no one in the next room. I wish I could recommend this property, but I can't. The main issues are their AC/heat system, thin and/or uninsulated walls and hot water taking long to get to you.

Check in was simple and the sweet lady working the desk was lovely. Parking is easy and getting to downtown is a short beautiful walk. It’s a budget hotel so it is an average hotel but convenient and the shower was large and the bed was too. Overall a perfect place to stay to go to the amphitheater.

Not a bad room but beds have soft edges making it hard to sit on and bathroom is extremely small. Other than that the location and price are good for visiting the old town area.

Basic, clean, friendly, remodeled old motel clise to historic city. Only compkaint was the loud wall unit for heat A/C. Could not sleep when it was running. Have stayed here twice - first time was better as quieter unit in wall

Location is great. Parking downtown St. Augustine can be a challenge and expensive. However, its an easy walk over the bridge of lions to the old city, from this property. Room is not overly large, but clean, comfortable, and large enough for a table and two chairs. The shower is very large and works great. Air conditioner is a bit noisy, but works well. I will certainly stay at this motel again.

The staff was very professional & welcoming. Rooms clean and comfortable.

We were there in the off season, but the owners were amazing. House keeping came every day (seems like everyone stopped doing that after Covid). Fast, easy check in, reasonable prices, clean, comfortable…. What else could you ask for?

The owners are truly amazing. I had issues with my last stay, and they found a way to accommodate me at 5 AM. Not many folks would do that. On top of that, they are super friendly. They work hard at their property and keep it very clean. They give all the amenities a larger hotel would, while also having a fantastic location. I had a gap in my stay and I returned to this property over a "nicer" hotel. I have no regrets about that; great people and a great property.

Close to historic downtown St. Agustin. No need to use car.

This cute property is in a great location for our needs. We were attending a concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheater. It is walking distance to the historic are and just a mile or so from the concert venue.

Our room was clean and updated! Perfect for what we needed for a weekend trip. Good customer service too, friendly! The Budget Inn is in the perfect location! A quick 13 minute walk across the bridge and you are in downtown St.Augustine!!

It’s a great value for the price. Very clean, renovated, and just across the bridge from the Historic downtown area. Very safe to walk even late at night.
