Hotel is quiet, clean and safe. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are few mod cons and shared bathrooms etc and no dining facilities. As long as you know what you're getting in advance its fine.

I believe in you get what you pay for. For the price we paid, we were very happy with the room. 24/7 reception service was also excellent. A bit further out from main Quayside- a 25 minute walk.

I paid over the odds for a single room with shared bathroom (£145). The first room i was put in has part of the window frame missing so the window wouldn’t seal. It had old furniture that seemed to be falling apart. When i complained about the window the receptionists response was “but nobody can get in that”. That wasn’t the point. I asked for money back to which they responded “no, because its the great north run weekend”. They’ve spiked their prices to rip off runners who’d raised thousands for charity. Eventually they moved me to the room next door. Again, the window didnt shut properly but at least there was no hole in it. That room was also outdated with nailed coming out of the wardrobe. The shared bathrooms were grotty, one of the showers didn’t have a door, and the light switch was outside the bathroom in the corridor which anyone could play with as they walked past. I wouldn’t recommend staying here

The hotel was very basic but met our needs, no restaurant for evening meal and breakfast was not to our liking

We had 2 rooms- Room 1: On arrival shown to room and this room extremely dated sink coming away from the wall. Broken mirror on door, marks/holes in the walls, window ledge full of water and there was a smell. We requested to change and were moved to room this room was absolutely fine with some modern touches but could use a lick of paint. 2nd Room - We requested a travel cot for the baby and had to remind them on arrival and when it came in it was dirty and not stable so we didn’t end up using it. The room was spacious but again extremely dated with marks on the walls and carpet. Staff were really friendly but had we been able to get another hotel I wouldn’t have stayed with my family.

Bike was securely locked to the smoking shelter wall using 3!! Bike locks. Around 3am the bike was stolen. Someone came with bolt cutters and walked out with the bike. Even though thr hotel clearly states "secure parking" and the numerous CCTV cameras werent able to get a single shot of the theif!!. Police are going to deal with the issue. Hotel didnt help in any way, not even a sorry. Even though responsibility of my belongings falls down to them!

Shared bathroom had broken toilet seat, blocked shower drain and mouldy wall. Bedroom tv missing, overheated even with rad off. Paper thin walls. Noisy pipes. Sleepless night. Staff were polite.

All good comfy sleep only thing is when having breakfast served up as ur eating cereal and toast on breakfast plate otherwise nice breakfast

Had a dirty mattress leaned up against the wall in the room I was staying in, radiator hanging off the wall, cupboard door not on the cupboard, cracked sink in room, the list goes on, £81 to stay in that dump for one night, never again

The hotel was old and not very clean also a lot of damp.

Came over to stay the night for GNR in the family room, as we were 5 people. * Bathroom stank, we even bought our own air freshener. * the bathroom didn't have a lock * At least one of the blankets was not clean with marks * nit pick: the bathroom did need some modernisation * to top it of there were loads of bed bugs, which resulted us in leaving the hotel and drop my family back home in a 2 hr drive, and ended not staying We're not fussy people but the bed bugs was the key issue that made us leave. But I listed all the issues we faced, so that if can help others. It was suggested that the manager would call, but nothing Nevertheless the staff were very good, and cooperative

They are decorating and we were kept awake throughout the night because they were working in the room behind us all night. Our room had water damaged ceiling with a hole. The bathroom had toilet seat that didn't fit, damp issues, peeling paint. The listing says bathrobes, sound proof rooms and other things that are not true.

Even an Asylum Seeker would not stop here Pros: NONE Cons: 1. no toilet paper in toilet 2.Shelf above towel rail hanging off the wall 3.Electric wires protruding from wall above sink 4. Very noisy from traffic on road outside. 5. Single glazed window that wouldn't shut properly 6. Bed extremely uncomfortable due to mattress being an old sprung type. 7.Only one pillow each provided. 8.One dirty bath towel each. 9.Occupants of room above moving furniture or something about all night on creaky floorboards 10. Black mould present on en-suite skirting boards and shower tray 11. Shower either scalding hot or freezing, no happy medium 12. Corridor outside room unlit, difficult to locate key slot in door 13. Other guests seemingly unaware of how loud they are in the corridors 14. NO FIRE ESCAPE PLAN OR INSTRUCTIONS To sum up this place in one word.................TERRIBLE My advice is to spend a bit more and stay elsewhere, Just wish I had now..................

So, I needed this hotel as I went to NERG 2024 - I stayed for a single day since it was the closest hotel to the stadium at what is a "reasonable" price. The reviews are mixed with some people giving it 5* and some giving it 4*. I cannot in all honesty say that these are real people and I will explain why. On the outside the hotel is fine, going into the foyer what waited for us was an emotionless and dead room with almost no light and no people. An Inidan gentleman came to the reception and sounded like he was sick of the day already, give us something to sign and showed us to the room. Here lies the first thing - The place is a damn maze and we needed showing. The door needed us to shoulder barge it to open and what awaited us was a polarising room. At first glance it looked nice, a little small but it was nice - After we had sat for a moment and began looking around did we find all the issues, since I have limited space I'll be brief. Bathroom door was hanging off 1 hinge, the bathroom mirror was broken, the shower was broken, the shower had no temp controls, the hand dryer isn't grounded properly In the room there is no TV remote, there is no spoons for tea, the carpet is vile, there are almost 0 dusting, the beds are stained with blood, the ceiling is broken with holes in it, headboards slap you in the head if anyone in the room moves - Weirdly the vibe is unsettling, it just feels wrong to be sleeping in there and I hated every moment of it, i just wanted out asap.

Stayed for 2 nights (unable to change hotel due to the city been busy). Hotel dirty from front door to rooms carpets poor interior. The room was dirty and unkempt. Bathroom damp and smelly, mould everywhere. Shower hanging off the wall, poor water pressure and too hot as unable to control the heat. No where to hang clothes, cupboard space which was also dirty. No water provided, cups in room for tea also dirty. It’s a shame as it’s a great location. Would NOT recommend this hotel.

Dust on furniture and cabinets, shower rooms were in poor maintenance and had pools of standing water. Property needs some attention.

Wasn’t worth the money paid, service was okay but slow and now very customer based. The room was very small and not very organised and the bedsheet had marks(blood stains) on it and the bathroom absolutely stank and had a separate door taped shut, a bad draft coming from the window although it was shut and the door didn’t do up properly unless locked, the smell of cannabis was horrendous when we walked out of the room and the walls looked liked they had been done by a cowboy decorator.

Lacked towels, no bath mat for leaking shower tray but the water was hot! Plenty of toiletries etc. Could make a tea or coffee but no water, nothing in vending machine and nowhere around to buy anything so go prepared! You are in the middle of a heavy traffic area and no facilities. Beds / pillows are not comfortable unless you like it beyond firm and with the surrounding noise / from the roads etc. just forget getting any sleep. It’s fine for a pit stop but nothing more.

The room and en-suite were clean. The bed was firm and comfortable and the sheets were clean. The staff are first class and happy to help. Only one personal complaint, the area outside the window is the smoking area and with it being hot, I had to keep the window open which meant the smell of tobacco and weed would fill the room and the loud conversations were annoying. I am although happy to recommend the hotel.

The hotel is fair value for money, the sheets were clean and the room was clean but it’s dated.

Had to ask reception to switch heating in room off as heating wasn,t adjustable in room. Otherwise, pleasant stay as usual. Thank you.

Overall it was an average experience because hotel rooms are bit old and washrooms are small.

First of all, this is a budget hotel with shared bathroom facilities, so please read my critique with that in mind. I did not expect 3* conditions. The room itself was very generously proportioned. The staff were really freindly and were available whenever I called on them. There was ample tea and coffee making facilities and the towel and bedding was clean and soft. However... Some of the furniture was broken; The single glazed window did not shut properly; The bed swayed from side to side alarmingly each time i turned over; The room smelled of mildrew because the trap to the sink was not connected properly so the floor was soaking wet; There was no sound insulation between rooms - I could hear EVERYTHING in the adjoining rooms. Save yourself some money and upgrade to a YHA

Budget level hotel. Bit disappointed that Google rate at 3*, but would be surprised with 2 stars. Friendly staff and it's clean but all looks tired and worn & in desperate need of major make over. Painted over damp around window, bottom of bathroom door frame rotting, rust on shower pipe work. Also our room was right alongside main road so quite a bit of noise.

To avoid abuse on a late night bus I stayed here and didn’t sleep a wink all night . Homeless people were given temporary accommodation and the room I was given was dated and had a funny smell . This hotel is like a can of cheap beans it does what it says on the tin .

Very nice friendly staff on Reception, Sahil and Mir. The hotel served its3purpose for5 hours to sleep

Yes the staff were very helpful from when we arrived would stay again in same room just need to put curtains on other window and sort the radiator

Ok……Where do i start….This isn’t a dig at the people that worked there but when we turned up it was obvious the painters had been in because of the smell. When we looked at our rooms they were uninhabitable & there was a crazy man wandering the corridor in just hes pants !! I had two of my daughter with me & both myself & Ruby have asthma ! We immediately booked somewhere else & I’ve been trying to get my money back on the two nights but nobody has got back to me other than this site to say everything was above board……Well it wasn’t !!! I wont be using this site or obviously the hotel again.

Great location to travel around local areas. Staff were so friendly and accomodating to your stay. You just had to ask and they were more than helpful. Its a converted care home with signs of wear and tear. Some rooms would challenge people. But to be fair staff relocated us on this visit. The breakfast is excellent value if booked in advance and is plentiful. For the price its offered at a reasonable rate. Well worth a visit.

Receptionist was rude, kept trying to get money out of us, kept our ids overnight, as well as photocopying them without telling us what for, or asking consent. Took friend's ID too, he was not staying with us, and refused to give him it back until we had returned from our room to put our bags down. Room was a state. Sink close to bed (despite bathrooms being communal) so movement around the bed was next to impossible, half a wire plugged into a wall, wet stains on the ceiling, uneven flooring. Room was also tiny, three people couldnt move around comfortably. Took £50 deposit (room was £59 including travel protection) because one of us has no form of ID but is 18. Seriously would not recommend this place, ruined our moods for the rest of the trip.

Water pressure a bit low in the shower but it was clean and close enough to city centre. You get what you pay for and to put our heads down at night and get showered it was a perfect room for us.

Walkable in about 25 minutes and most welcoming after a late night train from London to Newcastle Central Station Very helpful and accepting receptionist of my disabled and non binary LGBTQI plus status. A taxi to my rented house would have cost much more as I live over 25 miles away

Cheap Hotel great location to city centre

It was a good experience and worth the money! The staff are great and the location is convenient due to local transport.

When we booked a few weeks ago, we paid a surcharge to pay at the hotel. They took the payment before we arrived and then couldn’t find or reservation when we arrived. Then they told us that we had already checked in! How? The room was not great but then it was only a bed for 6 hrs before we needed to get up at 3am for an early flight. Convenient for Newcastle airport

Didn’t have breakfast

Poor showers / bathrooms, place smelt like mould, Rooms too hot, breakfast was cold and of very poor quality. Various substances all over the walls and curtains. felt like a bit of a biohazard. On the upside, cheap, accessible and friendly staff. reasonably comfortable clean bed, and not too close to a main road so wasn't too load. Would suggest hiring a more competent cleaner, bring the showers and bathrooms up to modern standards, and hire a decent chef, and this place could be decent.

Check in as previous said was ok. Receptionist left us and went and checked room, then offered help with bag, corridor like a maze but rectionist came and checked on us. Room dinge lots holes in walls beds springy uncomfortable. Liht hshes dirty and low. Like a dungon no wifi. Old curtains, net curtains very dirty. Main door very difficult to lock Missing a towl ( replaced an hour after asking). Bathroom no floor matt. Industrial toilet paper, holes in walls. Ellectrical wire out off wall ( possible light?) Towl racks hanging offf wall. Shower cubical holes in wall. Water burning hot very poor tempature controle. Overhead shower and watersplashing onto bathroom floor so big puddle during stay. Breakfast area unapealing. No contentential food available. Microwaved breafast ( eggs fresh). Kettle for tra and pot of coffee. Notice saying only one crossant and cup allowed. Walkable to arena

Well, to be fair, I’m extremely disappointed as I was promised bed and breakfast and that was not provided, Basically looked like a hostel and Nothing about my stay was enjoyable at all, Half the stuff in the room just didn’t even work, Terrible customer service, and in all honesty, I would not recommend this to anyone
