Front desk attendant was rude at checkout. I challenged the $28 parking fee per night when the garage was only $20 and free on weekends. She did not remove the charges and was very rude.

Beautiful property with savvy charm. We felt like it was a swanky hotel and loved the proximity to the KC Plaza shops and dining establishments. The upstairs bar was so cool too! My only beef was with Expedia for not revealing that the pool was closed for the season. (end of September was our stay). Apparently it was closed after Labor Day. Will stay again and look forward to using the pool next time!

Pretty hotel. Nice check in staff. Pool is pretty but small. Fire alarm went off at 2am due to being attached to a neighboring parking garage system. No comps offered for the inconvenience. Self pay parking is $26 so be expected for that add on expense because limited neighborhood parking available. Shower and bed were nice but cleanliness around the bathroom was b grade. Overall 4.2

Was only in KC for 2 days, but absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was extra friendly and helpful, the hotel pool / lounge area was beautiful, and my room had a cute balcony overlooking a nice view as well. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in KC again.

Disappointing. The advertised shuttle service was not running while we were there. The room did not have a bathtub despite them being pictured on the website for the king rooms, and the service at the restaurant was poor.

Honestly front desk and valet were great. Location was great. Rooms were fine. Gym was small. Pool was small but nice. Room was ok but while we were out the first day it wasn’t cleaned. Then when we asked they said staff was gone. No one could make up the room. My mid review is based on value. If it were priced lower my rating would be better.

The restaurant breakfast was the best that I have ever eaten. Tender biscuits. Gravy better than home. Fluffy scrambled eggs. Keep that cook! Warm enough to swim in the roof top pool.

Check-in went smoothly. Did have to inquire about drink coupon we were issued, but they offered that up quickly, however just for one person not two. Garage parking available which was nice. Did have to have the parking tickets validated we obtained which didn’t take long to do upon check out. Room was clean and quiet. We did have to call maintenance as there was no hot water in our room. It was hit or miss after they checked our room but by the morning it was lukewarm. Location was great for what we were doing in KC.

Tasha at the front desk was awesome! So friendly and helpful! We had some hair left from previous guest that was kind of nasty in the shower and the pool had some glasses under the tables and couches that hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Room could have been a little cooler but I think it was due to the major heat at the time. Overall, it was great and classy! We enjoyed our stay!

4th floor was dirty and there were used sheets, towels, and trash bags migrating around the floor for over 24 hours. Mentioned to staff and nothing was done until Sunday evening. You tell chips /food were spilled outside the elevators and down hallways and the crumbs were there upon arrival and not cleaned up until Sunday evening.

All staff extremely friendly, helpful, and made you feel valuable. Cleanliness was top tier. Modern. Comfortable bed, amazingly large shower, great food and drinks on top with the rooftop pool. Will always stay here when in town.

This is a beautiful property located in the perfect spot to check out the town. We asked if we could check in early and the hotel accommodated us. The parking was not an issue even though it’s in a parking garage. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The staff was helpful and kind. We had to ask for extra towels and they were up to our room in minutes. We ordered room service for breakfast and that also came quickly. Would 12/10 recommend.

Bathroom had a foul smell to it and the blow dryer was covered in hair. One of the bed pillows had what looked like blood stains on the pillow that showed through the pillowcase… not what I expected from a lovely hotel

I’ve stayed at this property several times but will not anymore. There was no toiletries and had to ask several times. The coffee both in the room and cafe stinks. The cafe is useless serving a small cold buffet. The room was not very clean with grime on baseboards and walls and the bed was uncomfortable

I paid $28 a day to park, forgot my ticket to validate was assured by the front desk that as long as I brought my tickets before check out, no additional parking would be added to my room. Not the case I paid the hotel $28 for 2 days, they could only validate one and then had to pay $20 as well. Beds are horribly uncomfortable, pillows sucks and for the cost of the room and the “luxury” of the hotel, it was extremely disappointing. Shout out to Peaches the bartender in the lounge, best part of our visit. Wouldn’t recommend The Fontaine or stay here again!!

The condition and location of the property are excellent. Convenient parking garage and easy access to great restaurants and shopping. My only complaint this stay was the in room Wi-Fi was basically unusable. I ran a speed test and the signal was less than 1 mbps.

Location is good. Rooms are big. Shower is fantastic and the products too. Blackout curtains very good. However for the number of stars the hotel have it’s a bit of a disappointment. Pillows were lumpy, other guests were rowdy at 2am 2 nights, feels like a party hotel. No stairs to reach your floor, you could only exit. Elevator often busy due to bar and resturant being on the top floor. AC not quiet. Doors slams when closing.

Beds are too soft ... our backs hurt in the mornings. Pro tip, there is a completely separate elevator from the garage up directly to the hotel. The sign in the other well, with two elevators is not clear, but it means turn around, go back out into the garage, walk a couple dozen feet to the left, go in a completely different door where there's a single elevator shaft with the hotel logo on the door.

1 star. Hotel “looked” amazing but they sold our room before we got to check in. We even called to tell the hotel were arriving late. And by late I mean 11pm not 3am.

Had a mix up with our room and it was taken care of quickly and with ease. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and very nice. Had a wonderful experience at the bar. Great drinks and even better bartenders! Joey at the bar is amazing!

The front desk staff was very friendly at check-in. The room was nice, but guests next door were very loud... up past midnight having very loud conversations, coming and going from the room frequently, and slamming the door each time. Someone seemed to locked out and was pounding don't and was pounding on the door and shouting to get in at 3 am... weird since you need a room key to access the guest floors via the elevator. Had breakfast in the restaurant on morning of our departure and the waitress was cranky when we didn't greet her and ask her how she doing when she first arrived at our table. Upon check out, we asked for the folio to be emailed to us. An hour later, after departing the property, we reviewed the email and found our breakfast charge was nearly triple the receipt we signed. We immediately called the hotel and got the run around. The front desk couldn't fix it and sent the call to the restaurant. The restaurant confirmed the amount sent to the folio matched the receipt and couldn't explain why it showed up at a higher amount. Back and forth, and no one could fix it. We called again the following day and were told a new folio would be sent, but it never was. The charge went through for the full amount, and no further update was provided from the hotel, so I decided to dispute the charge and let the cc company chase them for a while.

Disappointing. The advertised shuttle service was not running while we were there. The room did not have a bathtub despite them being pictured on the website for the king rooms, and the service at the restaurant was poor.

Honestly front desk and valet were great. Location was great. Rooms were fine. Gym was small. Pool was small but nice. Room was ok but while we were out the first day it wasn’t cleaned. Then when we asked they said staff was gone. No one could make up the room. My mid review is based on value. If it were priced lower my rating would be better.

We always stay at The Fontaine when in Kansas City because we love it. This time the front desk and housekeeping fell far short of expectations. We checked in to Room 307 Friday and noticed less than half a roll of toilet paper and an almost empty Kleenex box. On our way to dinner, I stopped at the front desk and ask that both be delivered to our room. They never were. The next morning, housekeeping refilled the Kleenex but still not the toilet paper. We had to track down a housekeeping cart to get one. Why aren’t there extra toilet paper rolls in every room, all the time? No one likes toilet paper anxiety.

This property had a fun young vibe. I enjoyed the pool and the happy hour. The breakfast was very good at the restaurant upstairs. I did not understand the point of the cafe downstairs. It was completely overpriced for what they had. I liked our room. We had a double with a huge shower. My only thought was that it would be better if they had more drawers available and a microwave We did not notice that there was a microwave in the cafe until the day we left. The other thing was finding the ice was kind of weird. There was limited signage to really indicate where it was. It was in a hidden door on our floor. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and the staff was amazing.

I'm very disappointed with the 901 restaurant. I ordered a omelet and french toast and a orange they charged me 161.00 . I called to get an itemized copy of my bill no response from them. I called the front desk they keep transferring to 901 restaurant and no one answers. I will not recommend them at all. This was such a bad experience for a first time visitor to the state and hotel.

The facility itself was amazing beautiful check-in was a breeze. We had a free welcome drink when we checked in along with a free drink at the bar on the seventh floor. The only complaint I have is we went for a full breakfast the morning before we left and the service was beyond bad. There was no one to sit us. I had to walk around to find somebody to be sat. I finally found a bartender back behind the bar that was bent over stocking and she said there should be a host which we never didn't see her so we just sat ourselves. The hostess took probably 20 minutes to come over to our table, mind you there was not a single person in the restaurant. We only stayed one night but if I am ever back in the area I will definitely stay here again! The staff was awesome! Sure friendly and helpful. The complementary contain needs to be on the menu. Absolutely delicious! Very clean and great location. The pool area was great! Didn’t eat at the restaurant but look good. We did order room service for some crème brule and it was yummy and they were very fast getting to us!

A great long weekend stay for a family wedding. The on- site bar and cafe are wonderfully charming, and the staff really attentive and helpful overall. Room only had a rainfall shower - and no shower caps! So taking a shower without getting hair wet was not a thing. Also no other amenities in room, e.g., shower cap, lotion, etc! The accessible room (that had a hand held shower) was in terrible shape - bathroom had very old tile, cracked paint and rusting fixtures.

The hotel looks better online than in person, it is a nice hotel, and it was clean for the most part until you walk from the elevator to your room and there were piles of towels sitting by the door of many of the rooms and they remained there for hours. We booked one of the most expensive rooms with a balcony, if you want to call it that. The balcony was very small and barely fit the two chairs and tiny table that was on the balcony. The room was quite small as well. Don't get me wrong the hotel was nice enough but hardly worth the nearly $300 a night it cost.

We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary and from the time we checked in until the time we left we were treated like royalty. The entire staff throughout the entire hotel celebrated with us. They even sent chocolate covered strawberries and had a bottle of chilled champagne upon our return from dinner. We will definitely be a frequent guest here for all our celebrations
