Clean and tidy hotel on the outskirts of Oxford. It is an easy walk to the centre and we preferred the location. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a nice bar area with an outside terrace. Would definitely recommend.

The parking spaces were a bit difficult to get into and the rear wall of the property and antique door/gate needed some tlc or they will be lost. There were also some maintenance rooms with stuff showing in the windows, didnt look very premium. But these are minor issues. If I was having my wedding there it might bother me though.

Single person traveler. Very clean, spacious and updated. The property has a lift which was always prompt. I spent only one night in a double and wish I could have stayed longer. Bed was comfortable and the shower was delightful with a rain shower and a hand held. Easy to control room temperature for my liking. Bathroom lighting was fantastic with a magnified makeup mirror. The hairdryer actually had a cord long enough to reach from the outlet to a mirror which was a first on my trip. Breakfast was very good, plentiful with both hot and cold options including a full English breakfast or cooked to order. Fantastic for the value. Unfortunately, I got in much later than I planned and was unable to explore the area so I cannot comment on location other than to say it was quiet and with lovely grounds. The Oxford clothing theme of the hotel is done in a classy and clever way. I will definitely stay here on my next visit. Highly recommend.

Only stayed for 1 night as visiting Oxford. Walked by the river into Oxford (25 mins), £9 taxi back. Very clean modern hotel, very nice rooms. Good bar and separate restaurant, tho you can eat in the bar (lots of tables). Great staff. Drinks and food were very good. Lots of parking, easy to find.

Stayed in Elm house at the end of the drive away from the main hotel. The building smelt of dogs and the room was fine. Aircon was noisy. On arrival I was put in a standard double despite booking a king but this was rectified then I contacted reception

We arrived in the late PM and I went to have a bath. The plug wouldn't press closed because there was a human turd stuck in it. I was nearly sick at the discovery, Reception changed out room but it was MUCh smaller and we had no compensation discount offered or anything. I will be emailing your complaints department to help us hold them to account.

Lovely clean room. Coffee and tea facilities plus cold water provided. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Hotel was a 5 min walk to bus stop and a 10 min ride to get to city centre. Cant fault anything.

Staff were exceptional, especially Malcolm on the front desk. We were a little underwhelmed by our premium price room (in the annex) however, especially as this was booked to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. It didn’t look like the room in the photos and was a little strangely laid out - all nice and clean however. We ate in the on-site restaurant which was fab, breakfast was a buffet which was just OK and rather over-priced

This hotel is nicely situated in the pretty village of Iffley, a couple of miles south of Oxford City centre. The river Thames runs close by and the lock at Iffley is worth a visit. There are also a couple of pubs in the village. It is possible to cross the river at the lock and walk into the city centre along the towpath (about 40 minutes). The hotel is clean, fresh looking and the rooms are comfortable. The staff are all professional and provide a warm, friendly experience.

This seems like an older hotel, however my room was updated and very clean. The staff is super friendly and sweet. They are courteous and do their best to make your stay pleasant from checking in to checking out. I recommend this hotel if you are ever in Oxford! Their breakfast is great but most of all is the cheerful, warm welcome you’ll receive from Wendy as you enter the dining room. What a gem she is! I’ll definitely stay here again.

over all a good hotel to stay in , we got of to a bumpy start, as the room we were givin on arrival did not match up to the type we had booked on line, also the room was not cleaned to a high standard, after speaking with hotel staff were moved to a different room, this was a better room and in a quiet part of the hotel, the rest of our stay at the hotel was a good experience, just to add this was our second stay at this hotel, and we booked the hotel again because of our first experience. the breakfast is very good and you can have as much as you want, the staff are fantastic, if you plan on going in to oxford city centre , it is a good 20 minutes to walk , but could pop on the bus or drive in good car parking around the city, it's a good location for visting surrounding area's, Stratford and M.K. are only about one hour away. if you plan on having an evening meal in the hotel restaurant we felt that choice was limited and prices are high.

I had a lovely stay. Rooms were nice, although my shower area as a bit of a squeeze, especially when you consider I'm not a tall person at all, but that was OK. Comfy beds, quiet area. Friendly staff. Nice walks to the river.

We enjoyed our one night stay here. The location is great, a nice quiet picturesque area with central oxford walking distance down the river. We checked in quite late so were given a basement room, which was fine except there were only 2 bedside lights so we found it quite dark, but for one night this wasnt a big problem. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable so for one night that was all we needed! I would definitely stay here again if I were visiting Oxford.

Excellent location with car parking. We booked a bigger room which had amole space. Overall is good but an area such as the bathroom is looking a little tired. It’s well suited for a short stay in Oxford, will consider staying here again.

The rooms are in excellent condition. Felt modern, comfortable and clean. On-site free parking was a bonus. Great to have a restaurant in the hotel as well. Location was peaceful and not far from shops and restaurants.

Perfect weekend hotel stay, scenic well maintained grounds and buildings, fast efficient check in and clean modern decor and furnishings within. Large room with super king bed clean and modern furnishings and on suite, fridge and large flat screen TV, ironing and hairdryer equipment, extremely comfortable bed and ample pillows with continental quilt. The quietest hotel room I have ever slept in and my stay was on a Saturday night. As much as you could eat self service breakfast with English and Continental options available. With a midday check out time and breakfast available until 11am ideal for a relaxing weekend break. Fantastic quality evening dinner in the restaurant, compliments to the chef and restaurant staff. All hotel staff were friendly and attentive to guests needs, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a quality no nonsense hotel.

Previously have loved the hotel and it's still great location and lovely staff. Brilliant breakfast too. Downside was our room 115 I think was basically a windowless box, the only natural light was near the door down a corridor, if we had been staying for a special occasion it would have ruined it, we were just passing through so was fine. Room was comfortable and clean. Check out was ok, we were asked for extra money despite having already paid, after explaining I'd paid they cancelled the extra charges. Previously have loved the hotel and it's still great location and lovely staff. Brilliant breakfast too. Downside was our room 115 I think was basically a windowless box, the only natural light was near the door down a corridor, if we had been staying for a special occasion it would have ruined it, we were just passing through so was fine. Room was comfortable and clean. Check out was ok, we were asked for extra money despite having already paid, after explaining I'd paid they cancelled the extra charges. No receptionist on arrival. No storage space to speak of in large bedroom. Was informed this was a feature of it being a ‘boutique’ hotel! What’s that about? View of outside staircase and wall from room. Limited menu for dinner which was served in lounge area and not dining room, which was only used for breakfast! Continental hotels manage to cope with the ‘breakfast bar’ set up for dinners, I don’t understand why this wasn’t possible here! This led to fish aroma in the lounge in the evening. They also seem to have uncovered a new Oxford college amongst their decorations! Staff were very pleasant.

Staff were exceptional, especially Malcolm on the front desk. We were a little underwhelmed by our premium price room (in the annex) however, especially as this was booked to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. It didn’t look like the room in the photos and was a little strangely laid out - all nice and clean however. We ate in the on-site restaurant which was fab, breakfast was a buffet which was just OK and rather over-priced

The hotel staff were professional and courteous. Our room was awesome--quiet, convenient to a direct bus into town (Rte 3 or 3A), good walking distance to pub (Prince of Wales). Food was also good.

we stayed here for a couple of nights whilst seeing a show in Oxford. The hotel is in a quiet location approx 1.8 miles from Oxford City centre. There is a very pleasant walk along the Thames into the city (takes approx 30 mins)or the hotel is well served with several buses. The staff were very friendly, the room was nice and breakfasts were also very good. If returning to Oxford, i would more than happily use the hotel again

This seems like an older hotel, however my room was updated and very clean. The staff is super friendly and sweet. They are courteous and do their best to make your stay pleasant from checking in to checking out. I recommend this hotel if you are ever in Oxford! Their breakfast is great but most of all is the cheerful, warm welcome you’ll receive from Wendy as you enter the dining room. What a gem she is! I’ll definitely stay here again.

The service was good, but again I felt there should have been extra support. It's a 50 minute walk to the centre of Oxford (definitely worth it as its mainly by the Thames) or a 6-10 minute bus ride.

Our two day stay for our daughter’s wedding has been as close to perfection as we could possibly get… the staff at this lovely hotel are beyond excellent, two members of staff in particular shone… John on reception as well as many other duties and JASMINE who truly helped to make our weekend so memorable, Jasmine is a star, in my humble opinion, the heart of this hotel. I would be proud to have her as my daughter. The food was of Michelin standard presented by high quality staff with dignity and professionalism of the highest order. Our wedding experience was amazing and we would recommend this hotel to anyone who may be looking for a venue for their own wedding. Thank you for looking after my daughter and new son in law. Grandpa Chris.

Check in is at 1500 but we areived early as i had a business meeting i thiight id areange at the hotel. The plan was to.have lunch. We waited at the bar for about 10 minutes and there was no one at check out or to service. There was a number of guests waiting to be served. We gave up on drinks and thought we would get started without. Once this was concluded i joined my wife. Again i attempted to get a drink as there was a person behind the bar. I was told that its table service and she would come.across. Over 10 minutes went by and i had to go back over to the bar to then get served. We were the joined by freinds again we waitied at the bar. Which after a period of time the lady told me she had already said its table service so i should wait at my table. Then in the evening the night porter looked like he had ironed his shirt with a toaster was serving drinks which looked an entirly new concept to him which i can fully understand. The night sleep was poor because im not a fan of soft beds but i can only put that doen to my preference. Overall i believe this is a lovely hotel with poor quality of staffing levels. More training needed on how to look after customers.

Clean and tidy hotel on the outskirts of Oxford. It is an easy walk to the centre and we preferred the location. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a nice bar area with an outside terrace. Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely hotel! It is located on the outskirts of Oxford but is really well connected by bus, so this is not an issue. We walked into town and it was a really nice 20 min walk. Very green and very peaceful. The hotel is super clean and really well maintained..The thing that makes this hotel so good is however the staff! What an amazing team! Really kind and professional. Really happy to help! We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Only stayed for 1 night as visiting Oxford. Walked by the river into Oxford (25 mins), £9 taxi back. Very clean modern hotel, very nice rooms. Good bar and separate restaurant, tho you can eat in the bar (lots of tables). Great staff. Drinks and food were very good. Lots of parking, easy to find.

This is a really lovely hotel in a good location. The restaurant food food was delicious. However this was the first time in my three week visit to the UK that a service charge was added to the restaurant bill. Not sure why this occurs - please include your costs in your meal prices, rather than adding extra after the meal.

over all a good hotel to stay in , we got of to a bumpy start, as the room we were givin on arrival did not match up to the type we had booked on line, also the room was not cleaned to a high standard, after speaking with hotel staff were moved to a different room, this was a better room and in a quiet part of the hotel, the rest of our stay at the hotel was a good experience, just to add this was our second stay at this hotel, and we booked the hotel again because of our first experience. the breakfast is very good and you can have as much as you want, the staff are fantastic, if you plan on going in to oxford city centre , it is a good 20 minutes to walk , but could pop on the bus or drive in good car parking around the city, it's a good location for visting surrounding area's, Stratford and M.K. are only about one hour away. if you plan on having an evening meal in the hotel restaurant we felt that choice was limited and prices are high.

The hotel is beautiful with a real Oxford theming. We stayed in a privilege room in the Elm building (separate from the main hotel building) which was spacious and well designed. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was lovely. Good portion sizes and everything was hot and tasty. Breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold food and the server was friendly and helpful.
The hotel is beautiful with a real Oxford theming. We stayed in a privilege room in the Elm building (separate from the main hotel building) which was spacious and well designed. Great location, clean and comfy room. We paid extra for a larger room, which was well worth it for us. We loved the quieter room slightly separated from the main block of the hotel. The dogs were given a warm welcome and staff were super friendly and helpful. Free parking was a bonus, particularly given the location. 1/2 hour walk into Oxford bit we chose to take the bus which was really easy and convenient as takes you straight into the city centre (great given the traffic restrictions in oxford). Shame to hear that you are changing the dog policy though Mercure, this will make a future stay ridiculously pricey if travelling with our two dogs.

On nous presse pour finir nos repas rapidement. Incompréhension de la demi-pension prise sur Hôtels.com et non acceptée pour les enfants à l’hôtel. On a été obligé de passer par Hôtels.com pour que notre demi-pension réglée soit prise en compte.

Be aware it is out of the city center so there are no other options close for dinner or breakfast. The breakfast was fine but the service in the restaurant for dinner was not always the best. A lovely spot and a quick bus ride into the heart of Oxford.
