Such a great place to stay when checking out Waitomo. Highly recommend staying in a private room as a couple. But when we passed by the hostel type rooms, they were quite charming too. We’d love to visit again with friends and family. Great cooking facilities and even a washer/dryer.

I had a great 3 night stay, the owners David and Pamela plus their staff are really friendly and info on the surroundings. Close to eaterys and where the Intercity bus stops. My room was lovely even if it did have a creaking area so sorry for the people downstairs. The shower leaked at little on one corner but that was what a bath mat was for. Plus I loved the use for the kitchen even if I could stay that after checkout waiting for the bus.

I stayed in a private room with a private bathroom and it was great - large room, hot water, clean! Kitchen was well equipped and very clean and tidy. Fairly basic property, rooms and amenities, but definitely contained everything that was described in the details! All staff were friendly and welcoming and I really enjoyed my stay!

Staff were lovely and welcoming. We were able to park immediately outside our room’s terrace where we enjoyed a peaceful dinner sat outside. Room was fairly basic. Great location though for an early morning trip to the waitomo caves.

The room was comfortable. However, we arrived late and had challenges finding a parking spot near the rooms. Also, the hotel is very close to farmland. I was woken up very early to cows wanting breakfast.

Location was good. Staff was fine. Cleanliness could be improved. Room did not have any toilet paper when we arrived, no staff upon arrival, this is a bare minimum item, took almost 3 hours to get a response. They understood but not acceptable. Has to be fixed for all guests.

We loved our stay here! The location was perfect for visiting the caves and eating a great meal after! The kitchen was perfect for us to make a quick breakfast before leaving for our next adventure! The only issue was the heater made banging noises all night.

Very basic but comfortable rooms, 15 minute walk from Waitomo Caves and Walkway and adjacent to eateries and small grocery in Waitomo Village. Short hill climb and flight of stairs to reach our second floor accommodation; not a problem for us but might be challenging for those with mobility issues. No AC.

Very basic room, with lots of No’s No hand town No aircon Ko extra pillow No toiletries- hand soap in a dispenser like at a public toilet- same spray type- shower same public toilet looking device- not sure if it was shampoo or shower waster or both. No toaster Plus- nice view. Very basic but the price is also reflected in what you get.

The room was very small and the carpet was threadbare. There was one towel each to shower with, but only one hand towel for both of us. There was no luggage rack, so had to put luggage on the floor. The room is showed it with a kitchenette when I booked it, but there was nothing but a small refrigerator and a hot pot. Because there was no air conditioning we had to leave the windows open, which allowed the bugs to come in. For those traveling to see the glowworms stay in Hamilton. It’s only an hour away.

Fabulous location for visiting the caves. Good clean and spacious room. It would have been nice to have more than one chair in a room with 5 beds but fortunately there were plenty of beds to sit on. Great views!

Eric at the desk was incredibly sweet and hospitable. Offered us towels to borrow for black water rafting and let us store luggage after check out while we did our activities before leaving. Wonderful spot. Hope they get a chance to reopen the cafe and continue doing well after covid.

Walking distance to Waitomo caves. Barely any other guests because I came during the off season. They said checkout was at 10am but my bus to leave Waitomo didn’t come until 4 so the host let me stay in the room for an extra half day without any extra fees. Breakfast was good, good variety of stuff for the price. Great for solo travelers or families with kids. There’s a restaurant nearby that I went to for dinner, it was also great.

We went to the cave and this was close place. Rooms were nice. We arrived late and had to go to town for food that was about 12 min away. While we were there we found this great handmade baggage store.. Awesome work and nice guy. Don't remember the name but it was next to the only gas station.

Simple but clean accommodation. Stayed in an upstairs room with a bathroom, lighting on the outdoor steps up to the room was poor at night but otherwise the room was fine for a one night stay. Friendly service at reception on arrival and departure. Had a very good fish burger at the pub next door and hubby had a very good seafood chowder.

Very close to the Waitomo caves. The room had everything needed for a short stay. The restaurant below the property was a great relief after a long day. The owner/ managers were extremely pleasant.

Neat and tidy property. Clean. Owners were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Would be great to get the cafe up and running again, but the Tomo pub and eatery next door had good food!

Stayed for one night while visiting the caves. Great location to walk into the village, very quiet at night. Quick and friendly check in, chalet cozy for a short stay and hot shower worked well. Good option for a road trip!

This was a cheap room, very bare bones and basic but exactly what we needed for one night close to all the cool attractions in the area. It was just my 13-year-old son and I. The receptionist was extremely nice and explained everything really well. She even turned the heat on for us and explain the space heater which we definitely needed as it was pretty chilly that night.I was a little bummed out that the beds were slightly squeaky, the doors to the rooms were really loud, and the walls seem to be very thin. But even with all that I still slept well. Overall happy about it, but perhaps I would try the more chalet style rooms next time and find an even better experience.
