I recently stayed at Le Méridien Chicago – Oakbrook Center on October 9–10, 2026, after booking through Hotels.com. Unfortunately, my experience was not what I expected from a hotel of this caliber. Although the room was clean, several things left me disappointed. I booked this stay to relax, unwind, and enjoy a peaceful evening away from my everyday responsibilities. However, the television was outdated and was not a smart TV, which prevented me from enjoying my favorite streaming services. The lighting in the room was also too dim, and the refrigerator was not working. I understand that I could have reported these issues during my stay, but I chose to address them at checkout. Unfortunately, the only response I received was, “Sorry about that.” I expected a little more concern and professionalism when sharing my experience. Regardless of whether a guest books directly with the hotel or through Hotels.com, the level of comfort and customer service should be the same. When I spend my hard-earned money on an upscale hotel, I expect more than just a clean room. I expect working amenities, comfort, and attentive customer service. I wasn’t asking for anything extravagant, just a relaxing experience worth what I paid. Overall, I would rate my stay 5 out of 10. The cleanliness was appreciated, but the outdated amenities, nonworking refrigerator, and lack of concern at checkout left me disappointed.
