This was a last minute booking as i need some where to stay for 1 night at the Royal Cornwall show @ £95.00 B&B they were not ripping people off like other hotels in the area. Very pleasant double room with a good shower. Had a great evening meal & the locals were interesting to listen to. Breakfast was very good. I will be staying there again, very friendly people.

We loved everything about Porth Lodge - The hosts were friendly and welcoming, the room was lovely, and very clean, the food was great. A brilliant vegetarian cooked breakfast for us. Excellent facilities, including a wonderful pub with a great pint! We can’t wait to stay here again.

A hidden gem. Great food. Excellent service. Professional bowling alleys and 3 pool tables made a rainy day into a fun experience for my family. Good value for money.

Solid place to stay. Easy walk to the ocean, a little bit more to walk to town. Also, has a: restaurant, bar, & bowling. Stayed in room #15 & then #19. 3 nights in late-March 2025. Negatives: Wi-Fi issues: kept having to reconnect as the signal was weak. Also, speed was not adequate. Room #19 did not have USB power (#15 did). Both rooms had weird mis-matched lighting, some were cool white bright, others warm white & way too dim (like that scene in the film Amerlie). Towels were too big. Too much furniture & extra pillows just takes up space. Bed in #19 had excessive soft spot on one side of bed at chest area, other side was fine. Positives: Check-in was easy. Lot's of free parking just across the way. Both rooms were very clean & quiet. Water was hot. Extras like biscuits in addition to the standard coffee/Tea & kettle was a nice touch. Silverware/ceramics were clean & spotless. Room #15 had USB power. The included English Breakfast was top notch, restaurant area was clean and service was great. Adjustable hand held shower head is always better than a fixed head.

Excellent all round, did bowling, played pool, had a good night's sleep and a delicious breakfast. Everyone from staff to customers very welcoming. Will definitely come again!!

Property is located close to the beach, a 5 minute walk. My family was booked in for four nights, we stayed one night and left due to the conditions. The property smelled damp and was noisy as it is also the home to a skittle alley. Our room had a large patch of mold under the main window, plug sockets were loose on the wall, one bed side lamp didn’t work. The main lamp shade was broken with beads hanging loose. There were four in ceiling lights in the bathroom, two didn’t work, one worked intermittently, leaving only one light working. The floor standing bathroom caddy was covered in rust and the heated towel rail had dust on each rung. We were unable to open windows as the smoking area appeared to be directly under our room window.

Absolutely couldn’t recommend this beautiful lodge more if I tried! What a lovely place with the kindest people! Me and my 2 year old had the best stay, in a wonderfully spacious room that had everything I could have possibly needed…including a kitchen!

Short walk to a lovely beach. Kitchen air-con fan outside room 12 meant you couldn’t have the window open and sleep when kitchen was in use, otherwise we had a great time!

We stayed for one night as we had an early flight, we were out before breakfast so they provided a snack in a bag for us without being asked. The room was fine and did what we needed. We ate in the bar and the food was very nice and a good portion. We would use this place again.

Stayed here a number of times now. Always my 1st choice when in the Newquay area. Friendly staff, great food and the bed is sooo comfortable. Locals engage with you, it's like home away from home. Even made me a packed lunch to take to work because I have to leave before breakfast starts.

We had a small issue with the original room assigned to us but this was resolved very quickly and was moved to another room with an upgrade , also only 2 mins walk to the large beach.

Carol and Dave took excellent care of us. Dave is a great cook so food was excellent- breakfast - anything you wanted plus pastries, fresh fruit salad etc every morning. Often took evening meals there too - super. Great fun bowling and playing pool and just a few minutes walk to a wonderful beach with cafes and Loos. Brilliant value for money.

My stay would have been excellent if the check in was good. Unfortunately when I arrived there was no one to check me in. I did venture into the ten pin bowling bar area to ask for help and the guy was very rude and extremely unhelpful. He was more interested in his phone than helping me. He has to remember he works in a customer service industry. Luckily, everyone else I came into contact with were very welcoming.

Solid place to stay. Easy walk to the ocean, a little bit more to walk to town. Also, has a: restaurant, bar, & bowling. Stayed in room #15 & then #19. 3 nights in late-March 2025. Negatives: Wi-Fi issues: kept having to reconnect as the signal was weak. Also, speed was not adequate. Room #19 did not have USB power (#15 did). Both rooms had weird mis-matched lighting, some were cool white bright, others warm white & way too dim (like that scene in the film Amerlie). Towels were too big. Too much furniture & extra pillows just takes up space. Bed in #19 had excessive soft spot on one side of bed at chest area, other side was fine. Positives: Check-in was easy. Lot's of free parking just across the way. Both rooms were very clean & quiet. Water was hot. Extras like biscuits in addition to the standard coffee/Tea & kettle was a nice touch. Silverware/ceramics were clean & spotless. Room #15 had USB power. The included English Breakfast was top notch, restaurant area was clean and service was great. Adjustable hand held shower head is always better than a fixed head.

Short walk to a lovely beach. Kitchen air-con fan outside room 12 meant you couldn’t have the window open and sleep when kitchen was in use, otherwise we had a great time!

A bit of an odd fish, this place. I booked it because I had been in Falmouth and had an early flight from Newquay. The hotel was a long walk from Newquay - maybe I should have researched this a bit more and is really not suitable for visitors without transport. The check in was very functional ' go upstairs and turn back on yourself' and I wasn't asked if I wanted to book in for dinner. The dining room looked empty, so maybe that wasn't an option.It seems to be a place where locals come to play ten pin and then sit chatting in the bar which has got rooms attached. However, the room was very clean and perfectly adequate for the cost , I can't fault the accommodation. I would recommend it to people with a car.

Really good price, quaint hotel down a narrow road. Rooms well equipped and comfortable. 5 min walk to Porth Beach and coastal walks. Good breakfast. Enjoyable stay

We stayed for one night as we had an early flight, we were out before breakfast so they provided a snack in a bag for us without being asked. The room was fine and did what we needed. We ate in the bar and the food was very nice and a good portion. We would use this place again.

We loved everything about Porth Lodge - The hosts were friendly and welcoming, the room was lovely, and very clean, the food was great. A brilliant vegetarian cooked breakfast for us. Excellent facilities, including a wonderful pub with a great pint! We can’t wait to stay here again.

Carol and Dave took excellent care of us. Dave is a great cook so food was excellent- breakfast - anything you wanted plus pastries, fresh fruit salad etc every morning. Often took evening meals there too - super. Great fun bowling and playing pool and just a few minutes walk to a wonderful beach with cafes and Loos. Brilliant value for money.

I had a great stay for two nights. I enjoyed the breafasts each day very nice and freshley cooked and tbought staff were lovely. Location is noce and close to the beach for a nice eveing walk . Dinner there was also very nice . Overall i m plaesed and look forward staying again

The lady who seemingly did all the front of house jobs aside chef was so so lovely. Car park useful and included (always nice in Newquay, I stay occasionally for work and it annoys having to put another tenner every time), room was clean and tidy with comfy bed, sound of birds in the morning from quiet location still close to walk to beach, bowling alley strange addition but I’m sure fun if you had kids, I got dinner which was OK nothing world changing but a solid pub fish and chips and a friendly atmosphere with a pint, breakfast had options and a lovely fruit salad alongside fried bits. Really great stay at this hotel. Very spacious mesmerising room. Lovely staffs and wonderful service. The night sleep was peacefull. In morning, I had delicious full english breakfast. I would recommend stay here to others. Also they have extra parking area, if there are no space in front of the entrance.
