This is probably one of the best coastal hotels in Washington, even though it doesn't have an oceanview. The historical look alone gives you some of an ambience and despite being next to the road, I remember it being quiet. Once you're settled in your room, you easily forget that you're near the road, because the historical serenity will pick you right up. It also has gardens outside to make it look welcoming. It is within walking distance from the ocean and you get access to the saltwater pool at their sister property, Adrift. I've stayed in two properties with this association, including Shelburne in Seaview and Bowline in Astoria. There are a few small improvements that could be made. It would be nice if they served breakfast. There is a restaurant downstairs and it's a very nice setting, but to my knowledge, they only do lunch and dinner.

Love this hotel! We had an excellent meal at the restaurant and enjoyed the pool, sauna and spa at the Adrift. Also close to Astoria, OR! This made for a relaxing rainy weekend baby moon that was perfect.

Just beautiful, this Hotel was built in 1896! Unique and charming and full of history. You can feel how special this place is. Plus you get to enjoy all the modern amenities of the Adrift hotel just down the road.

This place had a very old feel to it. We upgraded to a balcony room on the second floor. Lots of staircases around the rooms. Very cool. Our balcony door kept opening in the night from the heavy winds so we thought. We read more about the hotel. There are many ghosts that haunt the space. We think maybe George was responsible for pushing our door open. We walked the halls and may have disrupted him. He doesn’t like to be bothered. Overall it was a great evening. You also have access to the partnering hotel down the road, Adrift. We used their pool and sauna. Wonderful. Got swimsuits from Dennis Ace Hardware. They keep them in stock year round. I recommend this place. We will be back. Thank you.

The garden is a treasure, having indoor and outdoor recreational games is such a great touch! Dining at the bar was an outstanding way to reward the high level of care this establishment takes to campaign and charm.

Beautiful historic property with tons of thoughtful decorative details in the rooms. The entire place is made of cozy wood and shiplap. The onsite pub has delicious food and there's plenty of space to tuck away with a book or a game or in a garden. You can access the sister properties pool and bicycles for free, there's an onsite sauna and fireplace. I just can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was.

This was an absolutely wonderful place. I like staying in newer hotels, but I like staying in traditional historic style places even more. This location is modelled from the early 20th century, has stain glass windows, and has a lot of charm and personality if you are into that sort of thing. The staff were fantastic and lot of things to do within the hotel itself. They also had an EV charging station which was great. I would give the staff there a 6/5 if I could!

The best of our stay was that it was a very charming historic building, staff were very welcoming, and the garden was well-kept. We chose this property above others nearby because previous reviews specified how clean it was. And while the main bedroom showed a significant amount of wear & tear, that didn't bother us. However, when we went to use the shower, we realized how absolutely filthy and smelly it was. It was no better than a public campground shower, and had very obviously not been cleaned in a long time. A very strong stench of mold & mildew stuck with me after the shower and we had to sleep with the bathroom door shut and its vent fan on, so we wouldn't smell it. The dust, grime, and cobwebs on fixtures didn't help. The bed was similar to sleeping on a futon: very hard. Also was supposed to receive a VIP upgrade but instead was situated right next to the noisy pub - our room door sandwiched closely between two public restrooms, with no privacy as diners gaze in at us on our patio. Really disappointing because we wanted very much to like the place. Sadly, we won't be back.

This hotel was a mixed bag. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good - The staff was great; very friendly and helpful. We got free champagne upon arrival. The place has a lot of character. While we didn't eat there, the bar/restaurant looked nice. The complimentary coffee was really good. There is a little supermarket across the street. The Bad - We had a hard time finding parking, and the hotel is right on 101 and has a fair amount of traffic. The Ugly- Our room (Room 11 - Avoid!) was awful. It was small, and I mean really small. There was a bed, and that was it. No chairs, no dresser, and no room for either. There was a deck that was almost the same size as the room itself. The mattress was very soft and lumpy. The room was very hot and had no circulation, even with wide open windows. There was a fan provided but was too loud to run all night. The worst was that the room was extremely smelly, like it had a huge mold/mildew problem. All of this combined meant that we barely slept the whole night. As much as I want to like the hotel and its great staff, it's hard to give it a good review given our experience. Maybe other rooms there are better....

What a lovely and charming hotel, lovingly restored and modernized. From the ultra comfortable beds, televisions that allow you to stream from your favorite apps, heavenly clawfoot tubs, and mouthwatering food at the onsite pub. Leah at the front desk was particularly warm and welcoming, adding to our already perfect stay. Highly recommend this for a friends getaway or romantic weekend!

Incredibly cozy and enchanting. The front desk clerk was friendly and inviting. When you enter the building, you are surrounded by warm rich woods, stained glass, and Edison bulbs that cast a low amber light. The Historic Queen room I stayed in was delightfully minimal, but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room opens up to a private balcony with a little bistro table. I recommend sleeping with the window open to feel the beach air and listen to the ocean.

This is the oldest continuous working hotel in Washington. It’s beautiful inside and out and has all of the rustic charm you would expect from an 1896 hotel. The room was very small and for someone who is over 6 feet tall I had to duck through some of the doorways. The staff is great and the amenities are good.

Quaint old hotel with a lot of character. Great if you value charm over even floors. No air conditioning so in hot weather be prepared to open windows (never gets that hot in this area though). Lovely bar and restaurant too.

Our stay was excellent. The room was very nice with comfy bed and pillows. Our room was quiet and overlooked the garden. We had dinner in the pub twice and were very satisfied. The only thing I might say is that there was no room in the bathroom for anything but we made it work. And no coffee until 8:15 :(

My husband and I booked a two night weekend getaway to Seaview and were ecstatic to get a room at this hotel. From the get-go, the service was impeccable and Dede at the front desk was incredibly knowledgeable about the hotel history and the local events. We were greeted with a glass of champagne upon checking in and a run-down of the amenities, as well as things to do year round. The interior is beautiful and the stained glass is breathtaking. During our stay, they also decorated for Pride month, which made our stay even more comfortable. Our room was quaint, to say the least. It was not only spacious, but it had a private balcony, a claw foot bath tub, and wonderful, local shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The pub has impeccable food and we found ourselves eating in any chance we got. My husband is a professional chef and was blown away with every meal. We will definitely be returning, as this is our new home-away-from-home.

Leah at the front desk was particularly warm and welcoming, adding to our already perfect stay. Highly recommend this for a friends getaway or romantic weekend!

I was a fan of what was then called the Shelburne Inn -- granted, that was back in the '80s. So I was looking forward to spending two nights at the 'new' Shelburne Hotel while enjoying a 50-year college reunion with longtime friends. Sorry, Adrift (the locally owned chain of hotels/restaurants), but you have some major work to do, from some much needed hospitality training for the staff to ensuring that guests are aware of the narrow stairs to access the top floors. And no sign of any staff to help with carrying bags, etc. Also, why only breakfast on the weekends? And although I appreciate the fan in my 'attic room,' there were no windows that could be opened -- very uncomfortable in the 90F degree weather. This is a wonderful, historical building in Seaview, and deserves to have wonderful service and amenities.

This was an absolutely wonderful place. I like staying in newer hotels, but I like staying in traditional historic style places even more. This location is modelled from the early 20th century, has stain glass windows, and has a lot of charm and personality if you are into that sort of thing. The staff were fantastic and lot of things to do within the hotel itself. They also had an EV charging station which was great. I would give the staff there a 6/5 if I could!

The historical look alone gives you some of an ambience and despite being next to the road, I remember it being quiet. Once you're settled in your room, you easily forget that you're near the road, because the historical serenity will pick you right up. It also has gardens outside to make it look welcoming. It is within walking distance from the ocean and you get access to the saltwater pool at their sister property, Adrift. I've stayed in two properties with this association, including Shelburne in Seaview and Bowline in Astoria. There are a few small improvements that could be made. It would be nice if they served breakfast. There is a restaurant downstairs and it's a very nice setting, but to my knowledge, they only do lunch and dinner.

This hotel was a mixed bag. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good - The staff was great; very friendly and helpful. We got free champagne upon arrival. The place has a lot of character. While we didn't eat there, the bar/restaurant looked nice. The complimentary coffee was really good. There is a little supermarket across the street. The Bad - We had a hard time finding parking, and the hotel is right on 101 and has a fair amount of traffic. The Ugly- Our room (Room 11 - Avoid!) was awful. It was small, and I mean really small. There was a bed, and that was it. No chairs, no dresser, and no room for either. There was a deck that was almost the same size as the room itself. The mattress was very soft and lumpy. The room was very hot and had no circulation, even with wide open windows. There was a fan provided but was too loud to run all night. The worst was that the room was extremely smelly, like it had a huge mold/mildew problem. All of this combined meant that we barely slept the whole night. As much as I want to like the hotel and its great staff, it's hard to give it a good review given our experience. Maybe other rooms there are better....

Quaint charm. Nice staff. Food was fabulous! Stay away from bar. Drinks were way over priced! Well drinks were $10. An extra $4 more if you wanted it with some form of mixer. AKA coke, orange juice, etc.....$14 for a well drink in a short glass is Ridiculous!! Shower temperature fluctuated from hot to cold constantly.

We picked this hotel because it had a breakfast, dinner, and a bar. There is no longer breakfast. Dinner is actually just pub, food snacks, etc. The room does not have a coffee maker in it. The door to the outside deck broke, and we couldn’t open it.

Beautiful historic property with tons of thoughtful decorative details in the rooms. The entire place is made of cozy wood and shiplap. The onsite pub has delicious food and there's plenty of space to tuck away with a book or a game or in a garden. You can access the sister properties pool and bicycles for free, there's an onsite sauna and fireplace. I just can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was.

Such a cool historic inn! They did an amazing job restoring and decorating it, obviously put a lot of thought, creativity and work into it and it really shows. And they respected and honored the history of the place. Bathrooms are done out with cool fixtures and even claw foot bathtubs. Restaurant on-site is fantastic. Awesome spot!

Luckily we weren't there on a particularly hot weekend but it was warm and the provided vintage fans were so cute! The hotel was clean. If you're looking for a cute vintage stay with a lot of character but not DUSTY or dingy this is definitely the place to stay!

The advertisement was false regarding the ocean view. There was none! The noise level was horrific, the balcony was dirty and on the highway, the shower was not fun, the bed was uncomfortable, there was no AC, and the linings were nice yet impossible to regulate, as we were either cold of sweating!
