Our recent stay at The Elephant Passage in Munnar was truly memorable and exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a refreshing drink that set the tone for a relaxing getaway. We stayed in a mountain view cottage, and it was beautiful. Spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully stocked with refreshments. The large, comfortable bed ensured a great night’s sleep, while the balcony offered stunning views of the surrounding hills. The bathroom was equally impressive, very spacious and well maintained, and we thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary cashews in the room. One of the highlights was the temperature-controlled infinity pool, where swimming while overlooking the hills of Munnar was unforgettable. The resort is spread across a vast, beautiful property with plenty of peaceful spaces to relax and enjoy nature. We also tried a full body massage at the Vedic Spa. it was exceptional, and we left feeling completely refreshed. The resort also offered nice communal touches, like a bonfire and chit-chat sessions, which added a warm and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast had a good selection of dishes, served with lovely views from both indoor and outdoor seating. And while a bit more variety would have been welcome, it was still enjoyable and the team kept everything tidy. Overall The Elephant Passage is a fantastic resort that combines natural beauty, warm hospitality, and quality comfort. Perfect for a peaceful retreat or romantic getaway.

The culinary experience at Elephant Passage was a highlight - both the breakfast and the a la carte menu were excellent, and the restaurant staff were much friendlier than those at the front desk. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was a major disappointment. The road leading to the resort is horrific and desperately needs resurfacing. Upon entering my room, I was met with a pungent smell of stale sweat and stagnant water. When I reported this, I was told housekeeping would spray air freshener "immediately." After 30 minutes and a follow-up call, I was told "2-3 minutes." When I tried to explain the smell was making me feel unwell, the female receptionist was extremely rude, said "sorry sir," and hung up on me. When they finally did spray the room 10 minutes later, it did nothing to mask the underlying odor. Hygiene standards were also lacking: there were no hand towels, and the conditioner and moisturizer bottles were half-used by a previous guest. No proactive cleaning was done; instead, I received a call asking if I "wanted" the room cleaned. I will not be staying here again.
