Madison LES Hotel

The service is very rude, the gym has like only 2 thread mills and that is locked as well. They didn't even share me the details sheet, nor the lady at the reception told me any details about how to access the building, when the breakfast is served or how to navigate (if they had any facilities). Very terrible and rude customer service, I never understand, why would anyone want to work in customer service sector if they are so rude, better find some individual contributor roles, where they will have min ppl interaction.

The room smelled horrible and one side of the blanket did not have duvet covers. We had to ask for some duvet covers and put it on ourselves. We were concerned about the cleanliness of the whole room and we were disappointed in the gym which only had 3 machines. The room was super small. Breakfast was very simple.

I went on a 2-night trip with my 2 cousins. Location is amazing! Located at the beginning of Chinatown but not far from Downtown, Canal St., Times Square, etc. My cousins and I used Uber for transportation and walked around to closer places. When we first got there we were waiting in the lobby for about 10 minutes before someone came and serviced us. I do wish the workers were more available and you didnt have to hunt them down. They have some drinks and snacks at the front lobby, pretty basic. They have a rooftop terrace with AMAZING views of the Manhattan Bridge and the city. The rooms are a bit small but we all brought 1 small carry-on luggage and there was enough room for our stuff. Our room did not have a closet or drawers which would have helped with storage, so we just kept our stuff in our bags. Bathroom is a bit small but clean. The breakfast is…..continental so theres not a wide variety of options and pretty basic. You’re better off going to Golden Diner down the street but they are pretty popular and always packed. There are some good delis and food spots nearby. Overall this is a pretty good spot for a short stay, and convenient location! 7/10 would stay again!

Excellent location and fine accommodations for the price. Self-service breakfast included. Clean and nicely decorated. The rooftop area is a nice place to see the lights of the Manhattan Bridge. We've stayed there twice and will definitely return.

The room was reasonably priced and quite clean.Very small with two mattresses on a platform (no bed springs) and a small desk. No closet, night stands or mini-fridge. Breakfast was as basic as I’ve seen- coffee, juice, yogurt, cold cereal, bagels (not the NY kind)), fruit, and English muffins. Location was near Chinatown and close to F line of subway. We asked them to hold our bags for us after checkout and were told it would be $6 per bag if we didn’t get them by 5pm. (never had this happen at a hotel) Some staff friendly, some not (particularly front desk).

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Madison LES. It was easily accessible to a subway stop (a short, one block walk away) and it was a fairly quiet area. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was great (our two musts!) The room is small, and for a family of four we were stepping all over each other. But we did appreciate the small fridge. The free breakfast each morning was a great offering, if a little chintzy. (Eggo waffles, meh….) but hey, it was free. The rooftop terrace was a fun surprise and has a great view! Our only real complaint / annoyance is that they nickel and dime you for kind of ridiculous things. We arrived quite early, on a red eye flight, and while we certainly didn’t expect our room to be ready, we were surprised that they said we could check in then and there (about 10:00 am) for $90. Whoa!!! So you had a room ready?? Or we could check in at noon for $75. No thanks. They kept our bags in their “bell stand” (behind the front desk—they did not think this through when planning their layout!!) We checked in at 3:00 to avoid these lame charges. When we left, we asked for our bags to be stored so we could walk the nearby Brooklyn Bridge, and suddenly there was a fee to hold our backpacks (we each had one, along with our suitcases). Which is so stupid, because they can clip on to our suitcases. The girl at the front desk said it would be $5 per backpack, which seemed totally made up since they said nothing about that when we checked in. Stupid!!

The best thing about this hotel is its location, very convenient to anywhere you want to go on the Lower East Side. This is not a good spot if you need parking; there is no parking on-site and they were not able to help me locate parking for my vehicle. But parking is always a little tricky in Manhattan.

They had baggage keeping option even after checking out to aid sight seeing, which was great!

Spotless and fair price. Front desk staff not friendly at all. But I wasn’t there to make friends. Extremely comfortable beds. Weird block but that’s Chinatown. Close to everything Would recommend.

There were roaches in my room.

The hotel was in a good location, the staff was super nice, and the room was good quality. However, the shower had black mold in the corners and obviously was not being cleaned regularly or properly. The hotel itself was nice but I don’t think the rooms are being cleaned very well.

Very nice hotel in Chinatown. There was a strong odor of mold in the bathroom, and the bathroom floor felt spongy from being wet for so long. The front desk personnel were efficient and pleasant

This was our second time staying at Madison LES. The room was clean and the staff nice. We would come back!

The hotel is clean and comfortable, if a bit spartan. Location is great for exploring the lower half of Manhattan. Very convenient to the subway. I look forward to returning.

I stayed here with my 2 kids, 12, 15. The best part about the hotel was that it was a quick walk to the subway. The room had a lot to be desired, there is no place to put your clothes so plan on living out of your suitcase, no closet, no end table, only a desk without drawers and a little square wardrobe (no door) with 3 hangers. The bathroom is pretty small with mold on the tiles and stains on the ceiling. Breakfast was ok, all sugar cereal but they did have toast, bagels, coffee, and eggo waffles. We had an issue with the tv and they came to fix it right away so that was good. Other than that, we couldn't wait to get home.

My room was cleaned everyday. Rooms are a bit small for two persons

Very clean, okay breakfast but a lot of noise frem Manhattan Bridge.

It's a place where you can only sleep, and the bed is small. If you have claustrophobia, it might be too small and shocking. And even after midnight, you can still hear people talking in the next room.

Couldn't figure out how to work the TV. Remote wouldn't work, staff could not figure it out either. "Maintenance" leaves after a certain time. When you check in, make sure your TV works

Close to subway station, room is very small 2 double beds both against walls barely enough room to move. Bath small only one mirror in bathroom no additional mirrors or full length mirror so difficult to have multiple people get ready at the same time. No peep hole on door.

Tiny room, hotel located under train bridge so crazy noisy rooms on that side, which they don't warn you about. Charged a large surplus to switch to a room that didn't keep us up all night. Should be more open and helpful

Tiny room, no place for luggage, only 2 hangers and one chair so you have to sit on the bed. Uncomfortable to be there for any length of time. We liked the view from the roof terrace but very noisy.

Air conditioning unit did not cool room. We were hot all night.

The property was close to the subway and I felt safe in the area at night. The room was clean but extremely small. We barely fit 3 people. I wish there was more furniture to store your items just one night stand so everything went on the floor, no closet. It’s a very small room but another table would have really helped. I did enjoy the free breakfast which was the basics. The front desk was fine. Would recommend for budget travelers.

Queen beds were not queen they were full at most. Bedskirt sheet was filthy. Remote did not work.

Service provided by receptionist Ting was excellent and very polite .

Great staff

The recepcionist responsible for the check in was very, very, very rude. The recepcionist in the evening was polite and sympathic, however the one responsible for the morning was so unpolite that our overall perception was terrible, despite the good conditions of the hotel. And when we were checking out and asked to storage our luggage for few hours, the same attendant was also very rude and unpolite.

The staff is friendly, and communicating via the app is super easy. They upgraded us without us asking, and they were always responsive to our requests.

The area of the hotel is fine, however, the rooms are very small. We booked a four person room and even opening a single luggage was tight. We had the hang our jackets on the corner of the TV and our luggage handle because there was NO SPACE. The beds are very small and it was hard to move around in that room. The customer service is not great. The lady at the reception usually working mornings is rude and not at all welcoming. You're basically invisible to her. Also, be prepared to pay for luggage hold if you leave your luggage before 9:00am or after 6:00pm even if you booked a stay (which was a first). The lady at the reception did not bother to let us know of the charge and just began tagging our luggage. It was only after I questioned she let us know. I would not recommend this hotel, there are cheaper hotels with better customer service and a better room overall.

We needed a place to stay near the Brooklyn Bridge and LES was a great solution. The room was clean and staff were friendly and the breakfast was a nice touch.

Staff was not very friendly. Not helpful for places to eat or transportation. Suggested we use their private driver to the airport, which was cash only. Have a sign in the bathroom that states we will do housekeeping, but we do not guarantee that your stuff will not be stolen.

Location is good, if you like LES and being close to Brooklyn. It's nice to grab a quick breakfast in the basement before leaving for the day. I gave this rating because when we checked out the lady at the front desk told us we would be charged for another full night if we were even 1 minute late checking out. That is absurd and poor customer service. Would not stay at Madison LES again.

Small but clean room, very friendly staff. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, ok for day walking but I’d be indoors by dark. Location is within walking distance to attractions like the Brooklyn Bridge and 9/11 Memorial.

Excellent location to Chinatown & Little Italy

If your looking for a clean and tidy quick place to sleep this is it. Not fancy, but nice and just what we wanted. After 10pm not so pleasant outdoors and train is close but still we would go back for the quality, price and convenience.

Lower Manhattan location. Easy to get to upper Manhattan and entertainment. Chinatown is also fun to walk around and view the open markets and restaurants. The train is near the hotel but it never interrupted my sleep.

It was a good place to stay not a bad area was close to the train station to go to Time square it was close to Little Italy very nice area Chinese food was good. I loved it.

Situated in a quiet neighborhood, food options near Chinatown, walkable to subway, view of the bridge

Just a short walk from the East Broadway station on the F line. There’s no elevators or escalators going downstairs at that station (there are escalators for part of the way up), so be aware of that if you have luggage. The room was clean and small, as advertised. They let us store our stuff when we got there before checkin and they sell inexpensive bottled water in the lobby, so that was nice. If you need a stay downtown, this is a good one.

Close to subway and to restaurants in Chinatown.

Location, room, staff very good. Breakfast very mediocre and so I had to make others plans to eat every morning.

Breakfast was very basic. Room and bathroom were tiny but it's New York. The hotel itself wasn't really close to anything we wanted to do (poor planning on my part) The hotel was affordable which was a plus.

Clean small 2 double room, hotel was modern, not dated, convenient to the sub, so so neighborhood, close to busy streets & subway so not too quiet at night, might trouble really light sleepers but with the a.c.on didn’t mind. Continental breakfast- 3 cereals, oatmeal, 1 type of packaged muffin,toast, bagel, generic premade waffle, apples, or oranges, weak coffee but it was included in the price so no complaint there. A good deal for the price on a short 3 day notice

Everything in the hotel was really good, nice staff, clean places and daily room service. Breakfast was too simple, just waffle/bread, some fruit and coffee.

Be prepared to pay extra when you check in. There was a $68 rate acceptance fee that no one mentioned. I won't be using Expedia anymore for booking hotels. Also room has outlets with no plates, dirty windows, really bad breakfast.

Good bed, good aircon, quiet location. Only minus was a very, very basic breakfast served in a noisy room from the din of the icemaschie.. if you are not much into breakfast - this one is highly recommended
