Nice, clean, well maintained rooms with lots of space. Very relaxing space with a big yard on the water. You can term that a good effort was made building this place. The continental breakfast has a good selection of store bought items. Never met anyone from the property (even check in was just a note with keys), despite seeing owners management (?) around from time to time sorting out 4 night stay. They seemed to be avoiding contact which felt a little odd. The outdoor hot tub was empty.

A beautiful quiet property on the beach with lots of outdoor chairs and a lovely deck area, with adequate rooms, but lacking any windows aside from the glass door, lacking watchable TV with no news or sport channels, and no ice.

The ceiling fan in the main room was a touch noisy and the bathroom fan operates in tandem with the light switch which I only mention because I found the cabin to be a touch toasty which may not be the case for all guests.All in all the cabin was perfectly adequate The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast room was well stocked and the staff were pleasant. Would consider returning in the future.

Not a great place to stay. No extra blankets or pillows. 4 of us had towels for two. Our dead bolt wouldn’t lock, shower tap was really loose and hard to set temp because of it. The few towels we got were so worn. It said breakfast provided. It was actually a very limited continental breakfast. I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay

Lovely motel right on the water. Good continental breakfast. Room clean, with a bed and one table and two chairs. Good tub and shower in bathroom. I think some of the rooms were a bit upgraded, but ours had an older, somewhat saggy bed. We did have a tv and small refrigerator. Good value for the location. There actually was no laundry on the premises.

We really enjoyed our stay here - the room was clean and quite comfortable, check in was quick and easy, and the view from our side of the building was very nice. On a clear morning we could just see out to Labrador. We had to leave too early to enjoy breakfast, but if we're back in the area we will certainly consider staying here again.

Nice views, but room was not clean, ripped screen, no windows, full of mosquitoes, black flies and spiderwebs. There during hot spell, but given no windows hard to cool the room with small window and old fan, plus mosquitoes came in from ripped screen. Not that close to town (it’s more than 15 minutes going the speed limit). Pictures of breakfast on Hotels.com are misleading. Breakfast is wonder bread and packaged jam, nothing special and all served with single use plates and styrofoam bowls. Not eco friendly.

A bit off the beaten track (dirt road with potholes) but enjoyable and remote. Rooms do not have windows. The door has windows but they do not open. No ventilation in bathroom. It was cool for us (late August) but not sure what they do in hot weather. No rain gutters so we had to dash through the ‘waterfall’ to get into the room during a rain storm. Clean rooms and great staff. Oh and bring earplugs … could hear our neighbours talking and later snoring.

While the hotel was clean and had a nice view and a decent continental breakfast, the room was crowded, not air-conditioned and had only a small window and a ceiling fan. We were lucky that we were not there in the worst of the heat wave. The location was out of the way as well and we had to drive some distance to find dinner

It was a nice place beautiful beach, small play area for kids. Very clean. The continental breakfast was nice. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was air conditioning. It was 28 degrees and no windows or air conditioning.

We stayed here for two nights while in the L'anse Meadows area. It is in a quiet secluded area and a bit out of the way from L'anse Meadows and St. Anthony. It was about a 20-25 minute drive to St. Anthony where most area restaurants are located. The rooms are very large and a bit rustic (in a good way). We had a large jacuzzi tub which was a very nice touch. The check in and check out process was very good. The continental breakfast was great. The owners were very friendly. Unfortunately it was very cold during our stay so we could not enjoy the wonderful view by the sea that the location offers.

We drove through some potholes on the highway and blew a tire. It was getting dark and I got really scared and worried so I phoned the motel and told him where we were. Ted drove 25 minutes and helped us and drove another 25 minutes back. He also provided lots of helpful advice so that we got to get the tire checked up and changed by a garage the next day. Also, the view and breakfast there were wonderful. We saw an iceberg right in front of our room! It’s also our pleasure to get to meet the granddog Finny! Thank you so much for the hospitality and kindness! It was a wonderful experience staying with you. We will visit again if we ever go to Pistolet Bay! Shannon and Colin

This was an interesting sort of “self-serve” lodging as we never met a manager. Notes and directions. But it was excellent, room very nice and clean, breakfast similar to many (carbos, no protein, no gf), but nicely presented in a v pleasant room and setting. Loved the location and ability to take a walk, and get to other sites locally. Mosquitos fierce and seemed to get into the room no matter what. Had to hunt them down before going to bed! But that is par for the course in that area. Highly recommended still!

We enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful spot once you get there, The road is rough. Breakfast was standard muffins toast cereals a good selection to choose for though coffee decent :)

We enjoyed the view of the water. Breakfast room was well stocked with raw fruit, a variety of juices, regular and decaf coffee, milk, creamer and almond milk. There were several cold and hot cereals, of muffins, tea biscuits and bread for toast. It is a reasonable drive to restaurants, groceries, whale and iceberg viewing as well as L’Anse aux Meadows and Norstead.

Initial impression and the sense of arrival was a bit concerning but the property was very clean, well maintained and very convenient to L'Anse Meadows and other attractions. The innkeeper, while very casual has done a very good job with his business

The rooms and furnishings, while nothing fancy, was very suitable and very clean. The motel is located on a large waterfront property. Continental breakfast gave just enough options to start your day (bread, muffins, yogurt, cereal, fruit). Owner was very nice and engaged in conversation with guests at breakfast. Can't go wrong here for a motel experience.

It was a nice place beautiful beach, small play area for kids. Very clean. The continental breakfast was nice. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was air conditioning. It was 28 degrees and no windows or air conditioning.

Not a great place to stay. No extra blankets or pillows. 4 of us had towels for two. Our dead bolt wouldn’t lock, shower tap was really loose and hard to set temp because of it. The few towels we got were so worn. It said breakfast provided. It was actually a very limited continental breakfast. I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay

We stayed here for two nights while in the L'anse Meadows area. It is in a quiet secluded area and a bit out of the way from L'anse Meadows and St. Anthony. It was about a 20-25 minute drive to St. Anthony where most area restaurants are located. The rooms are very large and a bit rustic (in a good way). We had a large jacuzzi tub which was a very nice touch. The check in and check out process was very good. The continental breakfast was great. The owners were very friendly. Unfortunately it was very cold during our stay so we could not enjoy the wonderful view by the sea that the location offers.

Nice views, but room was not clean, ripped screen, no windows, full of mosquitoes, black flies and spiderwebs. There during hot spell, but given no windows hard to cool the room with small window and old fan, plus mosquitoes came in from ripped screen. Not that close to town (it’s more than 15 minutes going the speed limit). Pictures of breakfast on Hotels.com are misleading. Breakfast is wonder bread and packaged jam, nothing special and all served with single use plates and styrofoam bowls. Not eco friendly.

This place was amazing. The view was spectacular after we were there for a few short hours we decided to spend an extra night there. The rooms were clean. The hosts were amazing. It is a beautiful place to stay at. We loved it!!!!
