The hotel is clean, beautiful, and well-located. I gave 4 stars because the bar service was disappointing—my food took too long and the bartender lacked energy. However, the receptionist and valet were great.

The hotel has a great location, is clean, and the staff were helpful. However, booking through Expedia caused some issues. The hotel didn’t have the information about our included breakfast, and we had to explain it every morning, though the staff eventually waived the fees after some back and forth. This seems to be more of an Expedia issue than the hotel’s fault, as the staff did cooperate. The pool wasn’t very clean, so we decided not to use it. The gym was decent for a short stay, and breakfast was good. Our room, a deluxe corner, was spacious, very clean, and had a fantastic view. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Incredible team (Erica and CJ!) always looking to help out. Awesome benefit of being able to use the Lifetime gym right next store. This will be my go-to in Houston right now.

Valet is $57 for overnight, garage is $22 for overnight, street parking is $6 but 3h max.

The pool was nice

The valet parking was ridiculously high!! Never again! We were in a hurry and didn’t see what the charge was going to be.

I was literally blown away, this hotel has checked all my boxes. The only thing that was not optimal was that the pool has no heating. Other than that, I had an amazing stay.

It was in a great part of downtown. Everything at the hotel was very nice, especially the pool and the views.

The pool has a great view. It's right on the train line and right across from a Starbucks, so the location is terrific. The valet was surprisingly expensive at like $80 overnight but the valets were very nice.

Great place for a long weekend getaway. Great location downtown and very convenient if you’re going to the baseball game. Pool was a good place to be during our downtime. Will come back!

Covers and pillows were dirty had to ask for clean ones

The room was beautiful and spacious, and room service staff was incredibly nice - but that’s about all the “good” I can say for this hotel. Room cleaning was sporadic - multiple days we were gone for hours and the room wasn’t cleaned in the time we were gone. One day we decided to just get new towels and wait for the cleaning the next day. Called down for towels - were told “of course!” - but they never came. When the room WAS cleaned, trash wasn’t removed, and it didn’t seem to be vacuumed. Shortly after checking out, I realized I left a number of things in a drawer in the bathroom. I reached out via Marriott Bonvoy app chat, and was told they’d look into it “after helping this guest” multiple times, but eventually the stay ended and the chat was lost. I called the hotel the next business day and left a message with the “lost and found” group, but never heard back. Overall I expect more for the price/brand.

Clean, comfortable with fresh design. Staff were friendly and valet were accommodating.

This place has gone down hill since it was the Alessandro. Dirty wash clothes left in shower, bathroom counters not cleaned, some sort of hair and fuzz in the sheets. Sheets were not fresh. Will not stay here again.

Great location in downtown. Friendly staff. Only issue I had was with the room carpet which was obviously stained and dirty despite the dark color. Carpets should not be that dirty for a room charging $300 and over.

My room wasn’t the cleanest there was stains on sheets pillows and towels. It also look as if someone threw up at a previous stay, and it wasn’t cleaned up properly. I ended up staying in my friend’s other double bedroom. Waste of my money. I also was in double bed room there was only one set of towels. I would have preferred staying at the JW.

The white cloth covers of pool lounge chairs were dirty. I was surprised.

I wanted to take a moment to share feedback regarding my recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations, especially given that this was meant to be a special occasion—our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, there was an unpleasant smell throughout the property, reminiscent of mothballs. It was very off-putting and made it difficult to feel comfortable. Additionally, our room was not clean upon arrival. The pillows had visible stains, and I had to request new sheets and pillows, which was disappointing. This is not the level of cleanliness or care I would expect from your establishment. Overall, our stay was far from what we hoped for, and it left us quite disappointed during what should have been a celebratory time. I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and make improvements for future guests.

Very nice and clean. Friendly staff

The room was beautiful, loved the bathroom with the walk in shower and separate toilet area. The view was nice, the room was quiet, and the area was convenient to where we needed to be. On our last day checking out, the staff wasn’t helpful at all, she was more interested on what was on her phone than the customers in front of her (which was myself and my friend) but overall the stay was wonderful.

Great Experience! Loved the room , amazing bathtub!

Room layout was strange. Very old with awkward remodeling. But, it was comfortable and pretty quiet. Bar was slow even when not busy. No ice machines. You have to walk to the kitchen of the restaurant to get a bucket of ice. Won’t be on our rotation of hotels in downtown Houston.

We stayed for three nights good location and lovely rooms

The hotel is very modern and the swimming pool views are amazing! The room is spacious and in a very central location.

Lots to love about this hotel. The lobby on the 2nd floor is spacious with plenty of seating. We grabbed cocktails at the hotel bar while waiting for our room to be ready. Staff was all very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Our corner king room was fantastic. Super comfortable bed, cool view of the tram line and buildings of Downtown Houston, and excellent modern bathroom with rain shower. Very large room for a downtown hotel in a major city. We didn't get to use the rooftop pool (rained all weekend), but it looked nice and fun, plus a beverage stand to purchase drinks. We came to Houston to see The Weeknd in concert, and the tram goes directly to NRG Stadium. We spent $6 total on round-trip door-to-door transportation. Would definitely stay at The Laura Hotel again!

Walls thin, I could hear the upstairs guests. Elevator cover was broken. Room booked was a king deluxe, got a double bed deluxe.

We enjoyed our stay, room was clean and bed was very comfortable, few things, the shower it was great but a crazy high water flow rate. Maybe if y’all turned down the flow rate from 12 gallons a minute to like 6 gallons a minute you could afford toilet paper that wasn’t so thin you could see through it. The room was quiet with an exception. You didn’t hear anyone in the halls you could hear anyone in the others rooms but you could hear every car that drove by and we were on the 6th floor. Not horrible as we sleep with a tv on so we could drown the noise out a bit. Last thing the flip down mirror on the coffee stand was hilarious, this seemed to be the only older item in the room and we found it quite funny. It’s definitely from a time in the past.

We had a great stay, the only negative was that even on the 16th floor the traffic noise was bad.

Propert is fine. Staff was super unhelpful. We have stayed here before and were met with complete dismissal when we arrived. Valet did not want to park our Toyota Tacoma because it was a “no truck after dark policy” despite us valeting with the same vehicle at the same hotel not even a month ago, so we had to park our own vehicle in a parking garage that was not available because the streets were blockaded by police prompting us to just return to the hotel and check in so we could figure the parking situation out.Then when checking in, the manager was prompt to tell us that our room was “not available” despite having it booked almost 3 days in advance. When asked why they didn’t have our room they just said, “we gave it away.” I was so confused and upset and when I asked what we could do he replied with “take it up with the third party.” And dismissed us. We originally enjoyed staying at this hotel and wanted to stay there again but I doubt we will ever return.

No one ever answered the front desk and found then chatting away as I needed items and had questions. Considering an event here that will not happen primarily bc of service and responsiveness.

Booked a room and prepaid through Expedia only to find the hotel charged me the full room rate on top on my credit card which they told me was for incidentals. Had to contact them to fix it or else they’d have let me double pay for this stay. Beware of fraudulent charges here.

The staff were friendly when they were available. However, they rarely answered guest services from the hotel's room phone. I was there for 3 nights and out of my 10 calls to guest services, someone answered only 3 times. I had to call from my cell phone to get anyone. My room was only cleaned once and I had to ask for it to be done. Check out day i asked for a trolly for my luggage and waited 20 minutes then called again and after 40 minutes i just took my bags (2 large sir cases, one carry on and a duffle bag and dragged them to the lobby where a guest service attendent watched me struggle out of the elevator on to ask how my stay was?!?!?!

Clean, safe and quite pretty. Staff was excellent. Took care of some confusion immediately because I booked two rooms. Kaitlyn, Mitch and CJ were especially helpful

Super excited about our trip for the Astros vs. Dodgers (check-in July 27th-out 28th). Arrived 20 mins before check-in (3pm) and rooms were not ready. Ok cool and made our way to the bar area, since the lobby was getting full. As the bar opened, we moved to the patio, since we had our own drinks. An hour passed so we checked back with the front desk and still no rooms (3 rooms with king beds). One friend gave his number and asked they call us when they were ready, so we moved back to the patio. We started getting nervous because the game was starting at 6pm, so we proceeded to use one of the restrooms near the bar to get ready. Still no call, but the friend who gave his number went back to the desk and they said 1 room was ready. We gave them our phone numbers and names AGAIN for the other 2 rooms and asked they call us, because we were leaving our luggage in the 1 room and heading to the game. Still no call and when one friend tried calling during the game, they showed that were checked in. It wasn't until we got back after 9 pm that my fiancé and I received our room key, but the one remaining room, our friends had to wait for them to activate their key. We asked what happened and why the rooms were not ready and all we received was a “sorry for the inconvenience”. Forgot to mention, these rooms were paid IN FULL 3 MONTHS ago (April 27th), so what was the issue? I understand things happen, but at very least we should have received a call with an update. Terrible service.

Beautiful decor, central location. We walked to the Toyota center for a show. Plenty of food options in walking distance or short drive 5/10 min

I came here to attend a concert at the House of Blues, which is 2 blocks from the hotel, so this was perfect. Very nice hotel as well

Things that took away from the experience: Evening check-in staff just asked for ID and CC and sent us on the way (not even a hello welcome to the hotel lol), didn’t share anything about the hotel (gym? Restaurant? Parking?), no mention of breakfast (I paid for it but forgot), I went back down to ask if bfast is included and he said no; I asked to check and turns out, it was included, gave us the wrong time for when breakfast ended (stated 10am, but it ended 11am?), valet is expensive, the only water in the room is $8 fiji. The room was clean so kudos to the cleaning crew, and breakfast was nice (though took 35 mins to get food after ordering, granted it was an almost full house, but jfyi). Would I stay here again? No: a lot of competition in the in the area for the same price point.

Very straightforward check-in, parking, and access to our room. The room was clean and had a great view from the 17th floor. The shower was spacious and had fantastic hot water pressure. It was an overall great experience for the cost. The breakfast menu and food were another highlight.

Early morning staff was less than engaging and helpful. The included breakfast was not worth it. Got a $35 credit for two people against a menu with avg breakfast entrees in the $20 range, so didn’t cover the full breakfast. On top of that, it was extremely slow. First people in the restaurant and in a hurry. Eggs and sausage took 30 minutes to prepare. Room was very nice although the foldable mirror wall to open up to the bathroom was odd.

Food at hotel restaurant was good.

Love the unique style of this hotel and the room. The location was great, walkable to restaurants and events at Discovery Green. Staff was excellent and the food was a great and unique experience too. Room service was an additional $20, not including the tip so… careful there. Overall great experience!

We had no robes or drinking glasses. Asked for ice and ended up having to go get our own. Room service food was fast but chicken dish was overcooked and peach cobbler not very good either
