Hotel Videseter

Ser att många klagat på standarden på Videseter. Jag tycker att det framgår av bilderna vad man kan förvänta sig så vi blev inte besvikna. Snarare tyckte vi att det var fräschare än vad vi trott. Rummet hade otrolig utsikt och var faktiskt riktigt svalt trots att solen låg på och verkligen gassade - men med ett betonghus blir det inte olidligt varmt. Vi gillade sängkläderna och kuddarna och sov gott alla fyra. Frukosten var ok, inte mer. Men ändå. Vi är jättenöjda med vår natt. Inget att klaga på! (Möjligtvis att det inte fanns sand så att inte inte kunde köra shuffleboard.)

We stayed in this hotel to be in the Gerainger fjord area (35 minute drive away). The hotel is dated and actually has an alpine lodge retro feel (lots of wood, pine and stuffed animal heads). But that’s ok unless you want a 21st century 4/5 star modern hotel. We had a family room that was under the dining room and were woken at 7am every morning by chairs being dragged across the floor above! Horrendous noise. Breakfast was ok but basic. You either eat in Gerainger or Stryn for dinner/late lunch or you have to eat at the hotel evening buffet. We didn’t eat there but I’m sure it would be basic enough. The shuffleboard in the games room didn’t have the required granules on it and the pool cues were broken so that was a pointless room. Our stay was made even worse by having some of my wife’s jewellery stolen from our room. To be fair, the manager was very apologetic and facilitated the police report. But even if that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you wake at 7 every morning and intend to hike all day and don’t care for a comfortable modern hotel. It was not worth the money. Great fjord, great scenery - not a great hotel. It trades on its location.

Grundsätzlich war das Hotel für eine Nacht in Ordnung. Das Zimmer war jedoch sehr in die Jahre gekommen - insbesondere das Badezimmer würde eine Renovierung vertragen. Das Frühstücksbuffet bot viel Auswahl, jedoch war die Qualität verbesserungswürdig. Speisesaal mit Kantinenflair. Die Lage ist toll und der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer sehr schön. Parkplatz direkt vorm Haus.

The windows opens up completely for a spectacular view of the valley below. The Videfossen waterfall is right next to the hotel. The complementary breakfast has a good variety of items and good. The common areas and lounges are spacious and with large windows facing the valley. The staff was helpful with directing us to attractions and hikes.

Äldre hotell men rummen var okej . Bra service underbar utsikt ingen tv på rummet och utsikt mot baksidan från hotellet rummet var mot en bergvägg men man får nog betala mer om man ska ha utsikt mot dalen

The view was incredible and the staff were great. The rooms are old but comfortable. The breakfast foods were all cold even the normally hot ones. The games were fun for the family. The waterfall was fantastic!

Flott beliggenhent, rent hotell, bærer litt preg av alder, skuffet over frokosten

Eine traumhafte Lage mit einem sehr abgewohnten Hotel mit durchgelegenen Betten und einem sehr einfachen Frühstück. Das Personal war sehr nett!

Elendig buffer, nedslitt hotell og forferdelig renhold. Fullt av avklippede tånegler/negler på hele badegulvet, gammelt søppel i søppelspann og skittent gulv. Totalt sett en dårlig opplevelse som ikke frister til gjentagelse. Nydelig utsikt

Enkelt men vackert beläget hotell med fantastisk utsikt. Sköna sängar ett plus.

Fantastisk utsikt! Saknade möbel/krokar att lägga/hänga väska och kläder på. Trevligt allrum.

Hotel af ældre dato. Trænger til en opfriskning. Kolde værelser. Men fantastisk udsigt og morgen buffet.

We stayed two nights during in late June. The views were just breathtaking!! Staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a hotel with lots of history. Highly recommended.

It was a magical experience, truly a hidden gem! We have explored a ton of Norway on this trip but our short time at Hotel Videseter was a highlight. Great food, friendly staff and breathtaking views. Highly recommended.

I booked 2 extra nights because I liked the place so much, and if I could I would have stayed even longer. It is pretty close to some amazing places like: Geiranger, Jostedals Glacier, Reinheimer National park, scenic route 258, scenic route 55, and so much more. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was really good. The owners are super nice.

My stay at this hotel couldn't have gone better. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The location was out of this world. The views out our hotel window were world class. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Hello, Thank you for a lovely stay at Hotel Videseter. The location is absolutely magical, with stunning views and breathtaking nature all around. While the standard of the hotel is quite simple, the charm of the place and its unique setting made our stay very special. We would definitely like to return in the future.

Wunderschön mit Blick ins Tal gelegen Abendessen vom Büffet bei toller Aussicht Zu empfehlen ist die Weiterfahrt über den gamle strynefjellsvegen

Fin beliggenhet og rom .Innsjekk gikk fint. Kun 1 alternativ av middag da vi kom som var en buffé med tynt utvalg til over 500 kr pr pers. Kokk ville ikke lage noe annet. Fikk kranglet oss til 6 stk smørbrød med diameter på 6cm. Så det ble middagen den kvelden. Frokost med helt greit utvalg. Bacon og eggerøre gikk tomt i over 20 min så var nok noen gjester som var frustrerte. Inntrykk av uerfarne på kjøkken som ikke fulgte opp i matsalen.

Lokasjon nydelig i fjellet. Enkelt og greit, ser tiltak gjort for fornying. Hovedsakelig midt på treet - usikker på om verdt prisen. Største er at middagsbuffeten koster 520 kroner per pers og inkluderer ikke et glass brus engang. Maten tilsvarer heller ikke prisen, halvkokt pasta og kald ris. Det er 40 min til Stryn hvis man vil ha noe annet restaurant-mat så spis før man kommer og spar mange kroner.
