Extremely friendly staff and beautiful location. Everything is well appointed. There's a cafe and the little cul-de-sac if you want to go have a meal. A nice lounge area and bar. The pool works beautiful. We just were there at the wrong time of year. Would definitely stay again.

Small boutique hotel right next the VA campus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They valet you car for free and have a neat little bar downstairs. No elevator but staff offers to help with your bags. The old wood floors are creaky but it was very quiet after 10pm. Nice beds and bathroom. We really enjoyed the stay.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights for a little getaway weekend in Charlottesville. There is a lot of potential for this place, but it will take a little more effort from management. For example, both air conditioners leaked in our room, likely as a result of dirty filters. The first unit was fixed after we reported the issue, the second one started to leak during our second night. Fortunately, our belongings were fine so it wasn’t a big deal. The situation could have been worse though. The cafe is pretty good. Nice selection of creative foods. Easy walk to the attractions in Charlottesville. The pool was nice, but the sauna didn’t work. Just another small example of the missed potential here. There were no fridges in the rooms, although I knew this going in. This would seem to be another simple upgrade that would really improve the experience. Overall, though, the place was nice and I would stay there again.

We appreciated our stay at Oakhurst Inn. The property is in a good location to the University and not far from downtown. Our room/bathroom was clean and the staff was very helpful. There is not much parking but they provide valet and on-street parking for you.

First stay at this inn and enjoyed our brief time there. Nice and quiet with good space by the pool. Only disappointing thing was bar was not open due to lack of staffing. We were looking forward to enjoying cocktail outside by the pool. Still enjoyed sitting by pool. Will definitely return next time in area.

If youre on a relaxed timetable, its ok, but would have preferred just to park on the steet to have easy access to our car. They also park it under sap trees, so that leaves your car a mess.

Lobby bar is not open, cafe is down two flights of dangerous outdoor stairs. Rooms are small, very easy to hear other guests, AC not working. In short, I will not stay here again.

A quaint inn that exudes a traditional warmth and charm. Our room was large and the bathroom was spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff was kind and helpful and the inn's cosy cafe had food so good I'd return just to eat there again. The bathroom was not as clean as I would like but my husband didn't notice so some of us are more particular than others. Don't let that negative keep you from staying at Oakhurst Inn as it really is lovely. Oh, and maybe bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

We stayed her 2 separate nights. It was so wonderful the first night, that we canceled our additional reservation in another city to come back for the last night of our trip. The first room was bright and clean! The second room was dirty, in a basement, smelled like cigars, overlooked the heat pumps for the building, and the toilet didn’t flush properly. We were so bummed out. Would probably stay again, but the property is inconsistent, so just be aware.

We stayed overnight for a concert and were plenty happy with the Inn! The property and gardens surrounding the 3 buildings were beautifully curated and well maintained. Check-in, check-out and valet parking were easy and quick. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and the blackout curtains were vital after a late night. I typically bring my own toiletries like shampoo/conditioner/body wash because not all hotels provide ones that are up to par, but I loved the ones provided at Oakhurst- everything smelled wonderful. We didn’t visit the cafe, but had local beers in the bar area before we ventured out for the concert at JPJ. With pre-event traffic, we decided to Uber to the arena (which was a short distance) but walked back to the Inn in an easy 20 minute walk. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

We were very disappointed by this facility. Online the pictures showed a charming, quaint, cozy place. In reality it was not super comfortable. There were no chairs in the room at all. The only place to sit (other than the bed), was in common areas. I was expecting (based on online images) a large freestanding tub. Instead, we got step in shower with a too short curtain that sprayed water all over the floor.

Oakhurst is a nice little inn with a very old-style feel. Positives: The staff was lovely and very helpful! The bed was VERY comfortable with a lot of nice pillows to choose from. I definitely enjoyed being close enough to their cafe to walk to it in the morning. The parking is very close to the hotel so it’s not difficult at all to move your belongings inside. Negatives: There are some very large windows which, while nice to see outside and have some natural lighting, made the room feel very exposed especially as my room was on the ground floor and right next to the main road. I don’t think there’s much insulation in the older building because it was absolutely freezing at night, especially in the bathroom. (I had to close the door at night to avoid it sucking all the heat from the bedroom) While the bathroom was gorgeous, the water temperature wildly fluctuated between boiling hot and freezing cold with no happy middle. The fitted sheet on my bed was dirty, but I didn’t go to bed until quite late, so I didn’t notice until it felt like too late to ask for them to change it. Lastly (and this was on me for not checking ahead of time) the parking for one night was $16 which felt a bit excessive to me. I think it was an ok experience for the price I paid with gold membership Expedia discount, but think there definitely needs to be some changes before I would consider staying again.

I was visiting a friend at the university and this property was very convenient! A 5 minute walk. I could not adjust/turn on the heat in my room which was not great. Does not include breakfast. The room felt almost antique while the bathroom was super modern.

Overall, a decent property. It's in a very old building that was refurbished a little over ten years ago. It's starting to show need for repairs. For example, a portion of the shutters was broken in the bathroom window. The metal support at the base of the bathroom sink was off center. Our room was located behind the front desk, and there was a lot of noise in the early morning hours. Not sure if it was the front desk staff or the person in the room above us who we could here walking around on the wood floors. Not sure if it was the front desk staff or the person in the room above us who we could here walking around on the wood floors. The hotel doesn’t look like on pictures. It is very cute, but the rooms are outdated. The walls are very thin. I stayed on the first floor and was up at 630 am, because people on the second floor decided to get up early and it felt like they were jumping there and moving the furniture. I’ve heard when they were using bathroom each time they flushed the toilet. The parking situation is not so good on the side, however they do have a parking garage where you can park. I came to the hotel very late, and after couple of unsuccessful attempts to park near the lobby, I was sent to the parking garage. Unfortunately, it was hard to find for me because of the constructions near by and because there are no lights on the street. In general, it is a very cute hotel, but it is definitely overpriced

The property was old, had key entry. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. You could see light down the side of the door and underneath. Just needs updating on the doors and a mini fridge. My car was covered in tree sap and we only stayed one night. The employees were super nice and very helpful.

Off season, this stay was nice. The room was large, with two sitting areas and 3 AC units. Quaint, with a historic feel and cute pool area and bar. Staff friendly and accommodating for dogs. Lots of green space for the pup. Their nearby cafe was a highlight for breakfast. Small boutique hotel right next the VA campus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They valet you car for free and have a neat little bar downstairs. No elevator but staff offers to help with your bags. The old wood floors are creaky but it was very quiet after 10pm. Nice beds and bathroom. We really enjoyed the stay.

We were very excited to arrive in Charlottesville with my daughter for a university tour. Unfortunately the lady at the front desk was rude and non service minded. It seemed she was inconvenienced by our questions which did not make us feel very welcome. The hotel hardly had anything on offer, only three sharing platter options that the bartender plated in front of me by the bar. He however was very friendly. There was nothing offered in terms of a coffee or tea in the morning and we found one apple on offer before we left. All other stays we have had during our road trip has offered at least coffee/tea and some fruit. We also had to pay for parking on the property and the cost was $16.99 plus tax. Once again why charge for parking on the parking lot on the premises? This is really cheap by the hotel. Although a cute set up and surroundings beautiful we would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The price was too expensive for what it offered.

We stayed overnight for a concert and were plenty happy with the Inn! The property and gardens surrounding the 3 buildings were beautifully curated and well maintained. Check-in, check-out and valet parking were easy and quick. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and the blackout curtains were vital after a late night. I typically bring my own toiletries like shampoo/conditioner/body wash because not all hotels provide ones that are up to par, but I loved the ones provided at Oakhurst- everything smelled wonderful. We didn’t visit the cafe, but had local beers in the bar area before we ventured out for the concert at JPJ. With pre-event traffic, we decided to Uber to the arena (which was a short distance) but walked back to the Inn in an easy 20 minute walk. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Extremely friendly staff and beautiful location. Everything is well appointed. There's a cafe and the little cul-de-sac if you want to go have a meal. A nice lounge area and bar. The pool works beautiful. We just were there at the wrong time of year. Would definitely stay again.

First stay at this inn and enjoyed our brief time there. Nice and quiet with good space by the pool. Only disappointing thing was bar was not open due to lack of staffing. We enjoyed our stay and its location is in walking distance from the UVA medical center we had an appointment at. We are in our 70s and 80s and were not aware we would be in a building across the street from the main building and up a steep flight of stairs. We did not notice when we booked that this Inn is on a campus of more than one building and has no elevators. That being said, it was wonderful to have a living area with comfortable chairs and a desk right down the hall from us. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The staff were very fabulous and helpful and there was a jazz trio in the main building one evening we were there. It looks like the main building had some rooms on the first floor so if that is needed remember to ask when you reserve your room!

This place is a gem! Monday was jazz & gin, so fun! People of all ages. Great bar, recommended a great restaurant in town. Staff was so accommodating, room was perfect with a patio. Actually this is a group of houses made into an Inn. Beautifully dove, breakfast cafe/lunch cafe is awesome, trendy, so much to choose! Bloody Mary was delish, avocado toast 😋Don’t pass this up for your standard hotel! These people cannot do enough for you!
