Sliema Hotel by ST Hotels

Die Lage mitten an der Promenade von Sliema, direkt gegenüber von Fähranleger nach Valetta und diversen Bushaltestellen war super als Ausgangspunkt. Der in der Hotelbeschreibung angegebene Hotelpool war allerdings eine öffentliche, kostenpflichtige Poolanlage direkt an der Promenade etwa 400 m entfernt, für die man sich als Hotelgast quasi Gutscheine holen und dann Liegen reservieren konnte. Dort gab es keine Duschen und die Plätze waren sehr begrenzt, das war sehr enttäuschend.

False advertising at its best! Closer to a cheap hostel than a hotel Firstly it states there is a swimming pool as an amenity, but in fact you receive a voucher to visit the local public pool 10 minutes away. Which is massively overcrowded as general public and surrounding hotels guests use it. The whole hotel is in need of a lot of attention, from the broken lift to the broken fittings and furniture in the room, bare wall fittings and lamps hanging out of the wall. No protectors or under sheets on the matress/bedding which are covered in stains. When I asked to change my blood stained bedding I was refused as the “room service department” was closed and gone home. The only good thing about it is the location, and there are actual hotels in the area for a better price

Vi boede på 2. sal med balkon og havudsigt. Frygteligt støjniveau også selv om døren var lukket. Vi opholdte os minimalt på værelset. Troede der var pool på hotellet. Det var et krav fra vores side. Det var der ikke. Vi fik billetter til en poolbar, hvor der var proppet med mennesker. Havde vi vidst det, havde vi valgt et andet hotel. Personalet i receptionen var flinke. Fin morgenmad.

Elevator didnt always work properly. Often glad we were on 4th floor not the 8th! Everything else was fine, staff were lovely.

Personnel très sympathique. L'hôtel a besoin d'un sérieux rafraichissement (porte de salle de bain abimée , porte savon et carrelage baignoire abimé, ...) mais c'est propre. Mobilier de mauvais qualité. La literie n'est pas confortable. Les meubles sont très légers mais en bon état. La situation est top. Cependant il faut se rendre compte que si vous demandez une chambre vue mer , celle-ci donnera sur la rue et donc assez bruyant. Il y a un très chouette bar/restaurant dans l'hotel mais du coup c'est également très bruyant (notre chambre était juste au-dessus). La piscine n'est pas dans l'hotel. C'est un complexe indépendant à 2 minutes. L'hotel vous remet un pass pour y accéder gratuitement. Le cadre y est top.

It is an OK place, conveniently positioned with amazing views of the bay, however requires updating. Breakfast was good, staff friendly. The pool available for guests is spectacular, just a little walk from the hotel.

The internet quality was awful and the elevator needed several adjustments

Centrally located just 5 minutes walking distance from the ferry to Valetta or the bus to the airport Sliema Hotel by ST Hotels is a good choice when on Malta. Breakfast is good and much more than basic. The hotel supplies a voucher free of charge with a full day access to a nearby beach club (value Sept. 24 is 30 EUR). The hotel needs a major renovation, though. This has to taken into consideration. Wifi is for basic surfing. Mobile 5G data is much faster. TV streaming on the Android TV is an option that wasn't viable in reality.

Positiv hervorzuheben ist das nette und freundliche Personal. Man wird von jedem dort sehr nett begrüßt und man bekommt von jedem Hilfe. Das Zimmer ist groß und bietet unter Umständen noch Platz für 2 weitere Personen, also insgesamt 4. Es verfügt über eine Klimaanlage, Kühlschrank, TV und WLAN. Die Lage ist für Personen gut, die die Insel aif eigene Faust erkunden möchten. Man hat eine Fähre fußläufig (5 Minuten) erreichbar und ist dort auch mit dem Auto (Achtung linlsverkehr) sehr mobil. Das Hotel liegt an einer belebten Gegend und Promenade, dort gibt es sehr viele Möglichkeiten an Pubs und Restaurants. Weniger positiv ist der Zustand der Zimmer. Das Hotel wirkt schon etwas älter und das sieht man ihm an. Das Badezimmer wurde schon an mehreren stellen repariert, Fugen waren nicht mehr vollständig. Alles in Allem hat es einen heruntergekommenen Eindruck gemacht. Da das Zimmer sehr groß ist hätte man dort den Platz mehr nutzen können, in Form von z.B. Loungemöbel oder so ähnlich. Zum Frühstück: Es ist ein Standardfrühstück mit gängigen Sachen. Es gibt frisches Gemüse, Joghurt und warme Speisen. Zur Lage: Aufgrund der Lage an der Promenade wird es abend schon etwas lauter, was einen gemütlichen Aufenthalt auf dem Balkon etwas einschränken kann. Immerhin halten die Balkontüren den meisten Lärm ab. Die Parkplatzsuche gestaltet sich herausfordernd, da es zwar viele kostenlose Parkplätze um das Hotel gibt, diese jedoch oft belegt sind. Place was great however that pool isn’t part of their property, but instead an Aqualounge down the road where u have free access. Parking is also only on the street and like a mission to find.

The cleanliness of this hotel is non existent. Dirty towels were constantly brought and when we were mentioning to the receptionist, our towels were swapped with dirty towels again. At some point they even brought us wet towels. How can you do that to paying customers, honestly. Because of the hotel’s lack of cleanliness, me and mum both got scabies from the room, mites that you can catch from fabric basically so we both got that from the room. They appeared the last night that we were there and they are insanely itchy and we are doing treatment still. The pool is not located at the hotel, it’s located at a different venue 5min walk from the hotel. They have nice views, though it’s overcrowded and a bit on the expensive side if you want to eat/drink something. The hotel’s location is good, as on the left are majority of the shops and restaurants, plus ferry and bus stops literally across the street. The breakfast hotel staff and one of the receptionist Niko were very polite and helpful. The rest of the staff were kind of rude, along with an older receptionist lady that was speaking rudely to her colleague in front of customers. There is a Macedonian restaurant attached to the hotel that I highly recommend, they have very tasty food and decent prices, plus the staff are very helpful and polite. Overall, that hotel is not worth the money, crazy expensive for what it has to offer and catching scabies was the worst thing I’ve experienced at a hotel.

I can’t stress enough not to book this place. I never write reviews, but my experience here was so poor I have to. Two words. Bed bugs my partner got bedbugs literally the first night we were there, I, however did not get bed bugs as for some reason our room they gave us had two different beds (which I was not happy with either). After a couple days of unknown bites, we went to the front desk, and they moved us to a different room but didn’t escalate the issue further despite our request. When we moved to a different room, it was the exact same type of room, however, it was significantly cleaner and nicer. We continued to stay in the room for over a week, and my partner was waking up with no new bites. We seeker medical attention, and it was confirmed that he did have bedbugs indeed. We then went to the front desk again, and insisted that we need to speak to a manager. The manager for the last few nights moved us to a very luxurious condo. She also gave us a free lunch on a set menu. I told the manager I was absolutely expecting some sort of compensation in the form of money. I was informed that our compensation was the three days we had in this condo and a free lunch. She had informed me that she couldn’t do anything further as we booked through a third party (Expedia). I then contacted Expedia, and Expedia told me that the manager had sent a email to them that I was already compensated. I can’t express enough how angry I am with this hotel. Thousand of dollars for bed bug…

Malte est une destination pas top à faire sauf si vous aimez faire la mala. Tous ce qu’on a gagné ce sont des punaises de lit à notre domicile!!!!! Je suis très en colère!!! Hôtel sale!

Chambre au dernier étage avec vue magnifique sur le port et sur Valletta. Literie et serviettes propres. Lit confortable. La propreté de la chambre laisse a désirer. Petits déjeuners corrects.

Most of the staff were good, helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, we did have a problem with bed bugs in our room, (we photographed one of these creatures, bloated with blood!) My wife had been bitten multiple times during the night, requiring her to attend one of the local emergency medical centres. The doctor confirmed it was bed bugs and prescribed medication. Subsequently, we raised the issue at reception, whereupon getting direct communication with a manager proved difficult. The manager did move us quickly to an upgraded room without carpets at no extra charge. He left his business card, showing email, mobile number, even WhatsApp, should we require any further assistance. However, when we sent messages there was no acknowledgement that he’d received them and there was never any reply. He did call at our room on two occasions after the initial problem and lastly with a pest control expert who stated he hadn’t found any evidence of bed bugs, but had treated the room in any case. There was considerable reluctance to accept it was bed bugs and to offer any compensation. In fact, he asked if we had come from Paris and suggested we had brought them into the hotel. As a result of the medication, going out in the sun would not be possible for my wife and obviously seriously impacted our holiday plans. On discussing this further with the manager, he reluctantly gave us vouchers for two dinners. Hotel does not merit 3 stars and it’s appearance and facilities showing neglect.

Dirty room (#706), cursorily cleaned only. All fixtures and fittings old and very worn, room maintenance and redecoration way overdue. Bathroom particularly poor eg shower tray marked and discoloured from age. Grouting marked. Even bathroom bin old, marked, rusted? Smelly. Dirty faded curtains, rust on fridge door, filthy balcony furniture, skirting boards away from walls and looked like never cleaned. AC didn’t work at first (needed to get replacement batteries for controller from reception), initially given key to another room (another return to reception to have rectified, no telephone in room), no channels provided on TV, no water provided in room. Lift old, unsafe, dirty, doesn't function properly (call it to floor 7, it stops at floor 6, no-one tells you this so you keep waiting and pressing until you realise!). No wonder no-one shows you to your room! Wi-fi in room poor, no wi-fi in breakfast room. Another guest approached me to share having similar issues with their room on floor 7, so there appears to be a general under investment. Booked and paid in advance for three nights or would not have stayed. Noisy as over busy street with bar on street immediately in front of hotel. Doors slamming loudly at all hours. We curtailed our time in the actual room, for which we also overpaid. Reported initial concerns to Expedia via 'check-in' email, not even acknowledged. Breakfast room is like a canteen, not a great setting, but breakfast itself was fine.

Property was pretty average and needs updating.. The Receptionist staff were helpful and pleasant and assisted us when needed. However the cleaners cleaned the room satisfactorily but tended to leave us without face towels on several occassions and we had to do without. Otherwise all was well for us.

El hotel por fuera se ve muy bien pero al momento de ella entrar en la habitación uno se da cuenta de que es un hotel viejo las habitaciones son viejas, el elevador en ocasiones falla. Lo peor de todo es lo que me pasó a mí, después de la primera noche amanecí con piquetes de pulgas en varias partes de mi cuerpo, a lo que pedí en recepción que por favor limpiaran e hicieran cambio de sábanas y cobijas. Más tarde cuando regresé a la habitación no estoy completamente seguro pero creo que no hicieron cambio de sábanas ni de cobijas únicamente acomodaron la habitación. La segunda noche tuve que bajar a recepción para que por favor ahora sí nos cambiarán de habitación puesto que en el lapso que estuve de la tarde noche en la habitación volvía a tener piquetes de pulgas al momento de estar en la cama. Hasta eso apoyaron en darme una habitación nueva para esa noche pero al final el daño ya estaba hecho.

Room was clean and tidy. Tv didn't work, safe didn't work. Breakfast was nice, staff helpful. Cheap and cheerful stay.

The Hotel is well located , it's very close to the ferry and bus stops . It is close to decent shops . The first room I was given was the worse for noise, the lift motor was next to the room.the mini double doors were right next to the room and they snapped shut with a crash . The service from the Cleaner was A1 . The people doing the breakfast were good. The reception desk were not great, the guy who was working on reception was not great, he was serving me. Then just stopped serving me and started serving two women ...I asked to be moved and it was no. And maybe they could do it if I went down stairs the next day at 8.00AM . I had to call hotels .com to firm that up . The WiFi was hit and miss which was a shame as the TV wouldn't work without it . It also had a power cut but only on the floor I was on, the communication about this was poor .

The elevator was bad. The ”doublebed” was two beds not attached to each other resulting in that they easily splited, not very romantic. No furniture in the room, not even a chair. However, almost everything was managed to the best due to the fantastic receptionist, Niko

Personalet var flinke og gode til at hjælpe. Sengene var 2 enkeltsenge som var sat sammen, de gled fra hinanden flere gange. Desværre var sengen utroligt hård og på ingen måde komfortable at ligge på. Værelset bar præg af ringe vedligeholdelse, manglende holder til bruserhoved. Faciliteterne var ikke i top, men resten hev oplevelsen op

Loved the sea view over to valetta from balcony, lovely staff, room & breakfast options were perfectly adequate, lots of shops, restaurants close by, ferry service to valetta & other tour boats close by. Smart tv in room so you can log in to netflix etc. Disliked the thumping bass of music until well-gone midnight & noisy street traffic, so as a result, we did not sleep well. Pillows were lumpy, we asked for extras but none were forthcoming. Had a couple of powercuts and loss of wifi. Lift is a bit bumpy and stairs were very narrow. Corridor doors were slim and heavy and slammed shut whenever used, which also woke us up several times. The pool is shared with 2 other hotels and is a 10 min walk away on the sea front. You will need to get a receipt for each person for free use of the pool, from hotel reception before you go. Pool opens at 10am and pool towels are provided free.

This hotel seriously needs to sort all doors in the vicinity of the lift to the rooms as the noise is unreal when a resident uses as everything echoes due to the solid flooring with no carpet to mask the noise. Apart from that a great place to lay your head for a couple of nights.

Valde ett rum med balkong och fick en fantastisk utsikt över bukten. Mycket liv ute på gatan med bilar och restauranger, men inte mycket större skillnad mot att bo i vilken stadskärna som helst. Frukosten var precis lagom; allt du förväntar dig och lite till. Bra pris för ett briljant läge och mer än OK hotell (visst, något slitet med långsam hiss, men det går att ha överseende med det).

Amazing views but a very tired hotel, needs a lot of tlc and update. Excellent location for Valletta, ferry’s and buses. A lot of noise from lifts and doors all night long. All that being said, the views from the room were worth while.

Very helpful front desk personnel. Great location! Neva tried very hard to get us over to Gozo but the winds were just too strong for boats to go. She went out of her way to help us.

We had an amazing stay. This location was so convenient to the shops, ferries and dining! The staff were very nice and helpful.

Fifth time in the same hotel, it is "our" hotel in Malta. We love the view over Sliema waterfront and Valetta on the other side of the bay. The staff is friendly and helpful, a special Thank You to Sebastian who fixed breakfast for us when we had to leave early for the airport.

Great stay!! Nevda (front desk lady) WAS AWESOME!!! So helpful with EVERTHING!!! Breakfast was good. Let us store our bags before and after checking in and out which was so helpful. Room view was beautiful. Thank You and hope to see you guys again!!! :)

I am the most satisfied with my hotel stay! They were so hospitable, so warm and inviting. Sebastian, Neda, and all staff were so accommodating and beyond informative. Housekeeping kept everything so polished, and kitchen was always fresh and delicious. This was better than 5 star service and you felt how important the guest is to them.

The hotel is conveniently located near shopping/dining areas and across the Ferry to the other islands and Valletta. The staff was all the time professional and friendly (special mention to Neda at the Front Desk, Sebastian at the restaurant and our Housekeeper Daniela). All made our stay at the hotel pleasant and memorable.

The hotel is old in comparison with the others in the area, and shows it's age in some things. The lift was unreliable, sometimes not working at all, other times not stopping at the correct floor, However, the staff in all departments are excellent; attentive, friendly and very helpful. The room was kept clean on request and the breakfast options were extensive, well cooked and plentiful. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and I would happily go there again,

1. I did not stay at this hotel - was told booking had been changed to ST Bayview when I tried to check-in 2. Poor quality rooms with AC not working properly but no-one actually doing anything about it 3. Badly equipped bathrooms - there was nowhere to even put your tooth brush! 4. Reception staff, in particular, were poor in responding to issues 5. The manager I spoke to seemed shocked by my complaints and really was not very receptive

Workers were wet friendly and helpful with all information. Dining room staff couldn’t have been any better… very friendly and clean!

Läget är perfekt för utflykter på Malta, middagar och kvällsdrinkar på restauranger och barer längs strandpromenaden.

Nous avions choisi une chambre vue mer (belle vue face a la valette) mais tres difficile de dormir avec une terrasse devant l'hôtel avec une musique assourdissante jusque tard dans la nuit. Sans parler d'une route hyper passante. Pas de tout repos. L'échange de la chambre n'a pas regler le l'ensemble des désagréments. Les chambres sont bien et refaite. L'échange du vitrage permettrait de faire un gain phonique. C'est dommage car l'emplacement de l'hôtel est bien.

Hotel in posizione strategica per spostarsi nelle varie parti dell'isola. Ottima colazione. Stanza ben dimensionata. Personale sempre disponibile

Ottima struttura, siamo rimasti 11 giorni, posizione eccellente per muoversi, i traghetti per l’escursione erano proprio davanti l’hotel

The hotel staff was courteous, the location is perfect, next to the ferry that takes us to Valetta in 5 minutes, buses to and from everyone one block away. Room didn’t face the street, so it was quiet. Breakfast was also good, overall a stay I recommend!

Overall the hotel was good value and a good location. The room was okay and I had no issues. The included breakfast was very good. It had bacon, sausage, fried eggs, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs. There was also fruit, pastry and plenty of beverage choices.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel per due notti durante la nostra vacanza a Malta e le uniche due note positive sono state l’utilizzo della piscina (si trova a 5 minuti dall’hotel) e la cortesia della receptionist al nostro arrivo. Per il resto non consiglio questa struttura. Un unico rumoroso ascensore collega gli 8 piani della struttura con lunghe attese per salire al piano. Porte pesanti che sbattono anche se le si accompagna gentilmente, rumori continui durante la notte. Le foto non corrispondono alla realtà (il rooftop/solarium non esiste e la zona colazione è totalmente differente). Non sono presenti copri materassi e le lenzuola non coprono il materasso quindi immaginate il livello di igiene che possono avere quei letti. Al rientro una sera in hotel abbiamo trovato la porta della nostra stanza aperta con un ragazzo che stava controllando i nostri rubinetti del bagno in seguito a una segnalazione che noi non abbiamo mai fatto. Sicuramente un errore ma non è stato piacevole trovarsi estranei nella propria stanza alle 22.30. Quindi se cercate un posto dove soggiornare, non andate in questo hotel.

L'hotel ha diverse strutture, tutte con vista sul mare, gli alloggi sono nuovi e moderni con vista mozzafiato sulla Valletta. Il personale è molto disponibile e professionale. La colazione a buffet è internazionale, soddisfa ogni tipo di esigenza, anche prodotti vegan, molto buona. Nella struttura principale c è una piscina all'ultimo piano all'aperto con vista eccezionale, inoltre al coperto vi è una iacuzzi, palestra. Non potevamo scegliere una struttura migliore. Da ritornarci senza dubbio.

The hotel is old in comparison with the others in the area, and shows it's age in some things. The lift was unreliable, sometimes not working at all, other times not stopping at the correct floor, However, the staff in all departments are excellent; attentive, friendly and very helpful. The room was kept clean on request and the breakfast options were extensive, well cooked and plentiful. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and I would happily go there again,

The staff is wonderful. The breakfast plentiful. The location excellent. BUT, during my three night stay, two of the nights I woke up at 4:00 am because there was no electricity. That means no A/C and no light in the bathroom with no windows. My electronic devices couldn’t charge and most importantly, I couldn’t get back to sleep because of the heat and non-circulating air. I understood a problem the first night, but when the same thing happens two times in a row, it is unacceptable.
