It’s hard to review this hotel as there were a few issues out of their control (the road to hotel was effectively washed away because of heavy rain). On the positive the room and view were stunning, the shower was more style over function but it was very stylish. On the negative, it’s badly signposted from the road and it’s quite a climb up a lot of steps (not for those with heavy suitcases or not fit and able), realistically if you want to be eating or going out in Mazunte it’s a bit of hike back from the town.

La alberca está increíble! , el atardecer en octubre es impresionante desde la alberca, muy limpia, aesthetic, la cama súper cómoda, el espacio lindo ,un lugar ideal para aventureros / mochileros no para princesas, el personal atento , aceptan tarjeta , internet starlink, el acceso en vehículo está difícil en tiempos de lluvia, la playa mermejita a increíble !

Las instalaciones son muy bonitas si buscas algo ecológico y estar en contacto con la naturaleza, tiene una hermosa vista a playa Mermejita, es un lugar para descansar y desconectarte del mundo, no alcanza a llegar la señal para navegar en internet o realizar algunas llamadas. Hay que tener cuidado con los insectos que entran a la habitación ya que no está completamente cerrada, y el acceso al hotel es un poco difícil ya que el camino es de terracería.

El acceso a la casa es peligrosa ya que la calle es terracería de subida, cuando llueve se hace lodo y es aún más peligrosa. Al llegar no se presentó ningún empleado por lo tanto tuvimos que subir las maletas, la entrada son unas escaleras que van hacia la parte más alta de las habitaciones y recepción y las habitaciones están en montaña, poca iluminación en las escaleras al subir, en la alberca y toda el área externa en general, el minisplit no estaba funcionando y nunca solucionaron el problema, nuestra estancia fue con dos abanicos solamente. La recepción y cocina están cerradas de tarde noche, si necesitas alguna bebida o cualquier otra cosa que requieras tienes que bajar e ir a una tienda que está a unos metros al salir de la casa mermejita y es subir nuevamente en terracería. Comida rica, poca variedad, wifi intermitente.

Great views but you have to hike up 180 rock winding steps to get to the main area. Horrible on hot days. Also they need to install ceiling fans. Rooms have nothing except a bed and a bath. Could use a common area fridge to store food and drinks otherwise you have to get ice daily.

La vista que tiene es magnífica. La alberca tiene una vista espectacular para ver el atardecer, está muy cerca de Punta Cometa. La atención del personal es buena, pero nos tocó la limpieza de la alberca y la limpieza de la habitación no la hicieron correctamente. El acceso es un poco complicado pero lo vale

Me gusta mucho el hotel, es la tercera ves que me hospedo. Más limpieza por favor, las instalaciones se ves descuidadas, no barren y hay tubos tiras dos por ahí, en general se ve descuidado! Saludos

El lugar es muy bonito y si te gustan los eco hoteles, es perfecto, considero que el tema de las hormigas en exceso en las habitaciones es un problema que deben solucionar, el personal de preocupo de la situación y proporcionó insecticida pero deberían cerrar bien las ventanas y mosquiteros pues resulta bastante incómodo. Los alimentos son de buena calidad y el precio es justo. La limpieza de la habitación es buena y su compromiso con el medio ambiente hace que no te cambien las toallas diario. Hay que considerar que no hay aire acondicionado, no tiene tele ni nevera, al terminar de subir los bastantes escalones sería bueno que dieran una bebida de cortesia.

La vista es increíble desde los balcones de la habitación o desde su alberca. Algunas cosas ya están un poco viejas ó en mal estado, como los ventiladores y los colchones. Llevar botellas de agua al ingresar, ya que no dan botella de agua o café de cortesía. Vicente es parte del personal que nos atendió, muy amable y atento con lo que se le pregunta.

Definitely, a beautiful property up high in the trees. This makes for very beautiful pictures! For convenience, there is a restaurant on site. They also provided a very large bottle of fresh water. The only two major issues, are that the apartment is uphill from the main beach street on a dirt road and when you reach your location there are 148 steps to our apartment. This wasn’t mentioned, and being 50 in the heat of the day, this was definitely a constant work-out. In fact, we extended our trip, but chose a hotel that was on the main road, as we were done with the constant uphill climb. Someone with limitations would not be able to handle it. It should be specified. Also, the bug issue is REAL. They do leave a bottle of Scorpion RAID in your apartment to spray, but if you do not want that smell or chemical in your room you will be dealing with literally hundreds of ants and bugs of all sorts all around you when you sleep, since it is not properly sealed around the perimeter of the building. Otherwise, a very beautiful tropical, natural and wild destination.

We stayed in the circular cabin and found it to be a little gem! Exactly what we were looking for; quiet, simple and beautiful. The property is full of interesting art and has an incredible view of the ocean. You should know there are about 150 steps up to get to the cabins and about a 10 minute walk to the main streets of Mazunte for shops and restaurants, but it’s well worth it. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is full of interesting art and has an incredible view of the ocean. You should know there are about 150 steps up to get to the cabins and about a 10 minute walk to the main streets of Mazunte for shops and restaurants, but it’s well worth it. El lugar está increíble. Con vista y arquitectura hermosas. El acceso es muy complicado para personas con dificultades de movilidad ya que hay que subir alrededor de 170 escalones para llegar al lobby. No hay opciones para personas en sillas de ruedas. El personal es muy atento. Hay que ir preparados ya que al estar ubicado en medio de la selva, es imposible mantener hormigas y otros insectos fuera de los cuartos. De menos en el nuestro siempre los hubieron.

Great views but you have to hike up 180 rock winding steps to get to the main area. Horrible on hot days. Also they need to install ceiling fans. Rooms have nothing except a bed and a bath. Could use a common area fridge to store food and drinks otherwise you have to get ice daily.

This property was smack in the middle of the jungle with the most amazing views and passive environmental architecture. If you want a place that feels nice, comfortable, surrounded by the local community, and enjoy a hippie beach vibe, this hotel is for you. There’s lots of walking, but they can easily call cabs for you. The roads surrounding the property into town feel almost like a permanent Shakedown Street market at a Gratefu Dead show, but with the best tamales, mezcal, and ceviche of your life. Also, be aware there can be lots of little visitors in and around the rooms, but the staff came immediately and was happy to help. The view from the infinity pool is one of the must stunning things I’ve ever seen!

No me hospedé, no es como aparece en la plataforma de aquí expedia, para 2 mujeres está muy inseguro y es por esto que nos fuimos. Está retirado y en la mera naturaleza, es como para alguien que quiere estar solo ya que está retirado de la playa. El baño estaba en la parte de atrás, afuera de la recámara en los arbustos, no lo recomiendo. No me quisieron devolver las 2 noches que pagué.

The caretaker told us we could stay one more night. But when we returned after sunset in our wet swim suits, all our possessions had been crammed into our suitcases, removed from our room and the caretaker was barring our entry. He said someone else had rented the room! So we were out on the street, looking for a room, and the town was completely full! It was a nightmare! AVOID this hotel at all costs.

El acceso a la casa es peligrosa ya que la calle es terracería de subida, cuando llueve se hace lodo y es aún más peligrosa. Al llegar no se presentó ningún empleado por lo tanto tuvimos que subir las maletas, la entrada son unas escaleras que van hacia la parte más alta de las habitaciones y recepción y las habitaciones están en montaña, poca iluminación en las escaleras al subir, en la alberca y toda el área externa en general, el minisplit no estaba funcionando y nunca solucionaron el problema, nuestra estancia fue con dos abanicos solamente. La recepción y cocina están cerradas de tarde noche, si necesitas alguna bebida o cualquier otra cosa que requieras tienes que bajar e ir a una tienda que está a unos metros al salir de la casa mermejita y es subir nuevamente en terracería. Comida rica, poca variedad, wifi intermitente.

The view was great But there's 179 steps to get up to the room. They said there was a restaurant but there wasn't. Eventually someone came to make breakfast. I fell down some steps the first night and tried to call the emergency number but after saying our concerns they hung up on us. No one came. We left early

Mi pareja y yo la pasamos muy agusto, es un lugar muy tranquilo donde se puede disfrutar de los sonidos de la montaña y del mar, el personal muy atento, si conocen a Magdalena se encariñarán de ella, muy atenta y siempre con una sonrisa y eso volvió muy grata la estancia, sin duda regresaría al mismo lugar.

It’s hard to review this hotel as there were a few issues out of their control (the road to hotel was effectively washed away because of heavy rain). On the positive the room and view were stunning, the shower was more style over function but it was very stylish. On the negative, it’s badly signposted from the road and it’s quite a climb up a lot of steps (not for those with heavy suitcases or not fit and able), realistically if you want to be eating or going out in Mazunte it’s a bit of hike back from the town.

We stayed in the circular cabin and found it to be a little gem! Exactly what we were looking for; quiet, simple and beautiful. The property is full of interesting art and has an incredible view of the ocean. You should know there are about 150 steps up to get to the cabins and about a 10 minute walk to the main streets of Mazunte for shops and restaurants, but it’s well worth it. We would definitely stay here again.

La alberca está increíble! , el atardecer en octubre es impresionante desde la alberca, muy limpia, aesthetic, la cama súper cómoda, el espacio lindo ,un lugar ideal para aventureros / mochileros no para princesas, el personal atento , aceptan tarjeta , internet starlink, el acceso en vehículo está difícil en tiempos de lluvia, la playa mermejita a increíble !

Las instalaciones son muy bonitas si buscas algo ecológico y estar en contacto con la naturaleza, tiene una hermosa vista a playa Mermejita, es un lugar para descansar y desconectarte del mundo, no alcanza a llegar la señal para navegar en internet o realizar algunas llamadas. Hay que tener cuidado con los insectos que entran a la habitación ya que no está completamente cerrada, y el acceso al hotel es un poco difícil ya que el camino es de terracería.

At the top of the 160-step winding stairway thru sub-tropical rain forest lies an amazing habitation with magnificent whitewater views. The beautiful complex of 6 separate cabanas was artfully designed and constructed by the architect-owner. Enjoy the birdsongs from your private patio overlooking the forest/ocean, or cool off in the infinity pool overlooking the waves. Staff was attentive and served us the best huevos a la Mexicana and espresso cafes of our entire Oaxaca trip.

En general la experiencia fue muy buena, excepto por algunos detalles que podrían hacer que la experiencia fuera perfecta. No hubo agua caliente dos días, se lo comentamos a la encargada y nos respondía que sí salía pero había que esperar, ya al 3er día de comentarle ya dijo que es porque se le había acabado el gas. Pero eso lo podría haber verificado desde el 1er día. No tiene servicio de restaurante como tal, sí de desayunos pero pocas opciones. No tenían café y al 3er día se le terminaron los insumos para hacer chilaquiles. Y las comidas hay que avisar por la mañana. El lugar es muy tranquilo y es para irse a relajar de preferencia en pareja. No es apto para gente mayor, gente con problemas de movilidad, y cero apto para niños.

Definitely, a beautiful property up high in the trees. This makes for very beautiful pictures! For convenience, there is a restaurant on site. They also provided a very large bottle of fresh water. The only two major issues, are that the apartment is uphill from the main beach street on a dirt road and when you reach your location there are 148 steps to our apartment. This wasn’t mentioned, and being 50 in the heat of the day, this was definitely a constant work-out. In fact, we extended our trip, but chose a hotel that was on the main road, as we were done with the constant uphill climb. Someone with limitations would not be able to handle it. It should be specified. Also, the bug issue is REAL. They do leave a bottle of Scorpion RAID in your apartment to spray, but if you do not want that smell or chemical in your room you will be dealing with literally hundreds of ants and bugs of all sorts all around you when you sleep, since it is not properly sealed around the perimeter of the building. Otherwise, a very beautiful tropical, natural and wild destination.

El lugar es muy bonito y si te gustan los eco hoteles, es perfecto, considero que el tema de las hormigas en exceso en las habitaciones es un problema que deben solucionar, el personal de preocupo de la situación y proporcionó insecticida pero deberían cerrar bien las ventanas y mosquiteros pues resulta bastante incómodo. Los alimentos son de buena calidad y el precio es justo. La limpieza de la habitación es buena y su compromiso con el medio ambiente hace que no te cambien las toallas diario. Hay que considerar que no hay aire acondicionado, no tiene tele ni nevera, al terminar de subir los bastantes escalones sería bueno que dieran una bebida de cortesia.

La vista es increíble desde los balcones de la habitación o desde su alberca. Algunas cosas ya están un poco viejas ó en mal estado, como los ventiladores y los colchones. Llevar botellas de agua al ingresar, ya que no dan botella de agua o café de cortesía. Vicente es parte del personal que nos atendió, muy amable y atento con lo que se le pregunta.

The view was great But there's 179 steps to get up to the room. They said there was a restaurant but there wasn't. Eventually someone came to make breakfast. I fell down some steps the first night and tried to call the emergency number but after saying our concerns they hung up on us. No one came. We left early

At the top of the 160-step winding stairway thru sub-tropical rain forest lies an amazing habitation with magnificent whitewater views. The beautiful complex of 6 separate cabanas was artfully designed and constructed by the architect-owner. Enjoy the birdsongs from your private patio overlooking the forest/ocean, or cool off in the infinity pool overlooking the waves. Staff was attentive and served us the best huevos a la Mexicana and espresso cafes of our entire Oaxaca trip.

Great views but you have to hike up 180 rock winding steps to get to the main area. Horrible on hot days. Also they need to install ceiling fans. Rooms have nothing except a bed and a bath. Could use a common area fridge to store food and drinks otherwise you have to get ice daily.

La cabaña y Mazunte son para ir a desconectar y descansar. Está delicioso, sin embargo si tienes que subir bastantes escaleras para llegar y las vistas son hermosas!

La habitación es tipo rústico pero bonita. La vista al mar habría sido espectacular de no ser que fuimos en época de lluvia y la maleza está un poco crecida y tapaba parcialmente la vista. El personal, Nairobi (la chica que nos recibió) es muy amable y atenta a las necesidades de los huéspedes. La piscina es tema a parte muy bonita con vista al mar. En general la estancia estuvo muy bien. Siempre hace falta tiempo para disfrutar.

This hotel definitely comes with a bit of a workout — there are quite a few stairs to climb to get around the property. That said, it’s one of those rare cases where the effort genuinely pays off. The views from up top are absolutely stunning and make every step worth it. The room itself was fantastic. It was spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight, though, was the balcony — overlooking the ocean with a clear view of the sunset. It was the kind of view you don’t get tired of, no matter how many times you see it. Service was fairly simple and no-frills, but the staff were attentive when needed and made sure things ran smoothly throughout my stay. Another big plus is the location. It’s close enough to downtown to be easily walkable, which made exploring the area convenient without needing transportation. Overall, if you don’t mind a bit of climbing, this place delivers where it counts — views, comfort, and a solid location.
