We were so impressed. Spacious, lots of natural light, stove, fridge, washer, dryer, all conveniences. Easy access with codes. The apartment was so close to Montreal sites. 650 to the Basilica de Notre Dame. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Honestly great experience !! The kitchen, living space and bedroom option was great for our bigger group. We were able to cook and not est out during our entire stay and had plenty of room. The in and out was easy, location was perfect. We are definitely staying here again in the future.

The pros: Being right at the base of Chinatown, and top of the Old Port, and literally steps away from the Palais De Congrès, made the location excellent. Parking at the Palais was extremely easy to access, secure, and reasonably priced for downtown parking ($25/day). Upon entering the unit, it appeared nice and quite modern. The two bedroom unit was extremely spacious, and well furnished, with comfortable beds and a good amount of space in both bedrooms. There was no laundry detergent, and we ran out of coffee pods, but a quick email had both delivered to our unit within the hour. Service was excellent. The cons: My partner and I both questioned what exactly happened in this unit. Every wall was marked and scuffed going from the baseboards to about 4ft up. I was tempted to try and wash the walls myself. A magic eraser and a coat of paint would go a long way. This left me questioning the cleanliness of the unit, and definitely made me look a bit harder than I normally would. The kitchen (specifically the lower cupboard doors and drawers) were absolutely not thoroughly cleaned. The washing machine has not been properly cleaned and gave off a strong mold/mildew scent, and the dryer itself did not work, resulting in having to hang laundry to dry overnight. Overall I would stay here again. It's a wonderful building and super convenient, however I would probably bring some cleaning supplies with me, if only for my own sanity.

Great location as we just parked the car and walked everywhere. Apartment was large & easily accommodated a family of 5. Was very clean & when we needed more coffee pods we asked & were given some. Area has homeless people near, but they did not bother us. All in all, a fantastic location & we’d stay there again!

The unit was made up well. Access to a full kitchen was great. The bathroom was lovely.

Beautiful space for an affordable rate. We had a wonderful time at Bakan. It was a spacious and stylish place to stay with historical charm. Affordable parking is a bit of a walk however the benefits outweighed this for us. We hope to return!

All communication was conducted solely through the dedicated booking platform. Guests should be aware of several operational requirements, including a mandatory self-cleaning policy upon departure and strict rules concerning guests and property damage, which involves a substantial fee for breakages. The unit itself was clean and generally satisfactory, though it possessed some minor signs of wear (e.g., a frayed carpet), consistent with a short-term rental style. A technical issue was noted with the television; the lack of a unique network name made it challenging to establish a private connection, leading to intermittent connections from external parties.

The property was close to downtown, however, there were a lot of people without homes in the neighbourhood often yelling. The entranceway and the elevator were not clean. There was mould in the tile in the bathroom. The fitted sheet did not fit on the bed and kept coming off, the Wi-Fi password we were given was incorrect, we paid an exorbitant amount of money to stay in that property on busy and popular weekend in Montreal. It was ridiculous.

L'environnement est limite catastrophique, de nombreux sans-abri squattent toute la journee et la nuit à 2 mètres de l'entrée... Personnel totalement absent. Une simple presence le soir vers 19h mais... qui ne peut rien faire pour vous... ils envoient juste un message à la plateforme et n'ont pas de retour. Messages persos envoyés à la plateforme.... aucune reponse.... malgre les relances.... Notre appartement "405" n'avait pas de wifi.... on nous dit de nous connecter à ceux des voisins... la connexion est evidement quasi impossble du fait des murs...obligé de se connecter avec ma 5g. Demande de réduction sans réponse ... Propreté de l'appartement a revoir... chips, pop-corn, papier du locataire precedent sous le canapé-lit. Cafetiere Nespresso non nettoyée également Bref, je ne conseille pas, vous aurez mieux ailleurs

Room was very dirty, had dirt stains all over the walls, holes in some parts of the walls. Would not recommend for the price they are charging you

The place is excellent! huge space and very clean, excellent location. Highly recommended especially for families and small groups.

What we loved most was the location of the apartment. Central to many great areas, shops, restaurants, and the metro. The building is directly across from a mission that serves unhoused people. There were often some near the entrance to the apartment, but we had no problems and never felt uncomfortable. Other positives were that the apartment itself was good for the price. It is updated, with a nice (although small) kitchen. Kitchen was stocked with a few basic kitchen essentials, but would not work well if you plan to cook all meals. It was very clean. The apartment is small, so more than two guests would be tight. (Only two chairs at the table. Very small bathroom. etc.) The hotel staff was around during the day, and they were helpful when we needed something. A few things we didn't love were that the sofa bed is VERY uncomfortable, and we don't recommend using unless very short term. The door from the bedroom to the bathroom was broken, so privacy was an issue. There is one small towel bar in the bathroom, and no counter or cabinet space or hooks for towels. Also, the wifi in the unit wasn't working. We were given access to the unit's next door, but it was weak. Our last morning, electricity was out. Not the faulty of the property. However, we had to use the stairs to exit the building. The stairway had no emergency lighting and was dirty, and smelly. Challenging with 2 big suitcases from the 5th floor. Over all a pleasant stay.

The Air Conditioning is very noisy and you have to keep the bedroom doors open to get fresh air

Very good, though the air conditioning unit was making a bleep noise every 30 seconds, even when switched off, which made sleeping difficult. Probably needs maintenance.

Big space for the money. Handy as between the station and the old town. Loved the record player and selection of Canadian artists discs (although all pretty scratched, and where was Rush and Neil Young if were doing Canadian artists?!) All in all, very happy and would recommend to anyone

I booked the apartment because on the website it said SOUNDPROOF but it wasn’t at all. I heard everything from the next room and the hallway. I communicated to find a somubut no one answered and security said “for us it’s soundproof” but very good location in China town

The unit I stayed was spacious and close to many downtown tourist attractions. However, there is some false advertising here. First there is no 24 hour front desk (I think the receptionist is only there until 5 during the week and nobody is there for the weekend) so you can't store your luggage after the checkout if the receptionist is not working. Also the room is not soundproof as advertised, and we could hear noise through the windows from the streets (I was woken up by people playing music outside). Lastly it seems that the property management doesn't check their message inbox in the Expedia app?

I was using sleeping here for business. I needed internet to send files to a clients . The provided Wifi code was not working. There is no way to communicate with anyone. When you are there you are ON YOUR OWN. There is nobody to contact if you need assistance qith something in the unit.

Only side part was the response from the property, I asked for additional glass wine but they never responded. No one presented at the reception at no time. Rather than that, will definitely choose them to stay next time!

The unit is very large and comfortable. However, the host are unresponsive and did not deliver of customer service, cleanliness, and the entertainment and TV unit did not function.

The contact phone number on the confirmation did not reach anyone. I did not receive any check-in instructions or entry codes by email as was promised. I had to have a friend walk to the hotel to locate a functioning phone number which was posted on the door.

The apartment itself was fairly clean and well maintained, though there were three major issues we experienced during our stay. The AC unit leaks water and has been for a while as there’s water damage to the floor boards beneath. We used the garbage can in the washroom to collect the water but it was quite annoying hearing the constant dripping throughout the night when you’re trying to sleep. There should also be a disclaimer prior to booking that there is an extensive booking/confirming process. Once you’ve booked your stay through Expedia here, you have to send them photo ID and explain the reason for your stay. We didn’t know this as we hadn’t received the email until arrival. We were very confused where it was, and how to get in because the door was locked with a passcode. After an hour or so of walking around we finally found the number to call in order to get more information. This process is super unorganized and inefficient. Please put this information in the description of the property before booking to make it easier!!

well the bakan only sent me the check in instruction one day after my arrival.. the phone number doesnt exist and even hotels.com couldnt reach them.. they sent automatic messages but no way to each them

Very hard to find. Gave wrong internet login. Area felt unsafe. Many homeless right outside entrance. A few got into building and were running around screaming for 2-3 hours. No staffing in building after 5.

Location location location. Space and amenities were good though on low end in terms of quality of finishes, furnishings and supplies; and hvac system can be loud. But nonetheless, a good property. However pne thing that should be considered if traveling with kids, and/or a single woman, the propertu is located on the heart of homeless central.

This place met our needs. Rooms are big and comfortable enough. Small beds though. Location is convenient. There are a lot of homeless people that stay in the square outside the Guy-Favreau complex which is immediately adjacent to the hotel entrance. The room we were in was a bit run down… Scuffs all over the walls, one chair missing a screw so the arm falls off, a hinge is off the door to the washer/dryer so the door scrapes along the floor and has dented it, the tiles in the bathroom aren’t stable, and I think there may be a water leak from the shower that shows up with moisture in between the bedroom floorboards. One window is sealed with paper towel which is weird. The check-in process was easy and the location is very walkable to Old Montreal and the port. There is very easy transit or bike share access close by and a supermarket too which was nice.

If you have any event at the Palais des congrès de Montréal this is the place to stay. You are one block from the Metro two blocks from Chinatown and a block from the convention center.

Good location in China town. There is a shelter for unhoused people nearby that if you aren't used to a big city could be off putting. The location is great though and perfectly safe.

Have not seen a person, all communication through text. No options for breakfast, have to walk to coffee shops for that. Otherwise good, quiet, clean, convenient location.

Local was central to sight seeing. What would have been good is having a basic starter pack e.g milk sugar etc. there was no information on public transportation or places to visit or restaurants, this would have been very beneficial. Kettle require descaling as not pleasant inside. No instructions on how to use electric goods. Accomodation was good value for money and there was plenty of toiletries. We would use accommodation again if visiting Montréal.

Great location. Obviously extremely convenient for convention centre access. Communication lacked a little. We were short on coffee pods (enough for 2 days, what about the rest of the week?), had to purchase our own. We very much enjoyed the stay and will come back when next time in Montreal !
