The Jung Hotel and Residences

The hotel and staff were very nice. Staff was extremely helpful. Only major complaints were the restaurant (service was incredibly slow, the menu wasn’t great and they were out of several things). We only had one breakfast there and decided to go elsewhere after. With so many stellar restaurants in NoLa they could do a lot better. The other thing was the pool. It had a green, murky tinge to it and there could be more umbrellas to provide shade as it’s so hot on the roof. Generally I would do for the price overall the hotel was a bargain.

The stay was nice but there is no rooftop bar, the main reason we booked. They haven’t had one in 5 years since Covid but it’s on their website. Other than that the stay was nice and it was close to the main attractions.

Very nice hotel. It needs to be known that there is no parking at the hotel and that you have to pay for valet. Besides the Valet daily rates, this was a nice stay.

Valet is expensive ($50) and didn’t help with the luggage, nor did they retrieve the car ahead of time as promised. The pool water was murky. We struggled with the air keeping the room cool. However the hotel is beautiful and the beds were comfortable. It was very conveniently located so we never had to drive anywhere and chose to walk. Despite the negatives, I would stay here again.

The rooftop pool was awesome, however it would've been nice if the bar was actually staffed. Also, the pool is a bit of walk from the rooms. For example, Rooms --> Elevator to lobby --> walk to other side of hotel --> Elevator to pool.

The hotel was very convenient to Tulane School of Medicine which is what brought me to New Orleans. The desk was rarely manned by more than one employee. The front desk phone was only answered once out of the three times that I had to call for towels or other questions. The pool had to be drained due to an over abundance of green algae. This hotel has so much potential and it is sad that the pool area bar hasn’t been open since 2020. The room was spacious. Comfortable beds. The bathroom was very nice. Plenty of room to spread out in my two queen room.

This was an interesting stay. The hotel looks recently renovated and was offering a great summer rate! The pool was nice, but hard to navigate to in the building. The lobby bar never opened despite posting signs with hours up throughout the hotel. The coffee shop was open most days and it was amazing! Otherwise, the room was super spacious, great amenities, and quiet given its proximity to Canal street. Give this hotel a try!

The room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. Only draw back just a coffee shop that was open 8-2. No other amenities. Roof top pool would have been awesome if it was not green and of need of water, open the bar we would have spent money. Our stay was Sunday-Wednesday off season I get it, price was right would stay again.

The one and only issue we had was the pool bar. It shows it on the website but it hasn't been open for 5 years from what we were told at the hotel. But, we were still able to hang out at fhe pool and catch some sun.

The hotel was in a good location, but this hotel isn't a 4-star. The room was dirty around the bed and in the corners. Also, the shower had mold growing in it.

The staff was very friendly, but cleanliness could have been better; our floor was never mopped the whole time we were there. The bottoms of my socks were black. We used the pool a lot, it was fairly dirty; no one seemed to attend to it. We cleaned the pool every time we got in it. Everything from cocktail napkins to bugs to wood chips in the pool. The front desk was extremely helpful. The fridge did not work in our room. When they fixed it, it was noisy all the time. Your TV selection is beyond boring, not that you come there to watch TV, but having YouTube or some other pay options would be nice. The building itself could use some repairs too. Overall it was a good stay, the staff made it.

The staff was very nice and helpful when needed. There was only one elevator that worked. The shower had black mold along the basin. Some towels had stains on them. We also had to ask for our VIP perk twice.

Area outside wasn’t great at night and there were bugs in the room

Room 242. The rug was gross full of stains and there were 2 roaches. 1 in the shower and 1 on the table with the ice bowl and things. Air conditioning seem not to cool at temp. Room thermostat said 69 but felt like 72+. Never had breakfast.

Bed had hundreds of ants. They gave us another room, an old plastic toothpick was under the phone which means they don’t clean.

First, major problem, there was period blood and feces on the blanket I got out of the closet. There was black curly pubic hair on the floor near the shower. Mold in the corners of the shower. Fridge didn’t work at all. No towels at the pool. Valet had no place to pull off the road. You and to just park in the street until someone got your car.

The room was overall clean but we found a roach in the bathroom.

Room never got cool despite setting thermostat to 65. Not a true king size bed but an RV size king, not able to get a rollaway bed when we realized it was a smaller king bed. Room had no mini fridge as advertised and took hours to get one brought to our room. There were no tissues in the box and they were never replaced despite being requested. Was convenient to event location but otherwise would not have stayed there and will not return.

I recently stayed 3/20-3/22 with my partner and upon arriving the building was very nice, clean, and welcoming. From Valet to the people at the front desk. Everyone was nice. It is about an 8-minute walk to Bourbon St which was VERY convenient. The neighborhood was pretty safe too. We returned to our hotel from Bourbon St both nights at 11pm and still felt safe. Mainly because it was not a long walk and there were still many people out walking along Canal St. THE ROOMS: The room was very spacious for two people and clean. The bathroom was beautiful with two sinks and LED mirror lighting. MY ONLY COMPLAIN was the shower had half a door but very spacious so you didn't throw water out and my main issue was there was no hot water. From 1-10, the time I was there the water stayed at level 5/6 of hotness. I had to shower in under 2 minutes because it was not enjoyable especially being already breezy outside. Other than that the stay, staff, location, and rooms were 10/10!

The chair in our room had so many stains on it. No one would sit in it. We grabbed the extra pillow and blanket from the closet. There was blood on the pillow. They gave us the room right off the elevator we stayed for three days. We listened to the elevator, go up and down and every conversation when people came off. The fridge in the room is very small and there was no microwave, which was inconvenient if you wanted to have a quick snack saved at the hotel due to the lack of restaurants or markets surrounding it. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was nice. It had two sinks.

Our room was ready even before 3pm, so we were able to check in early. The room they gave us was huge! The room was clean & the price was truly affordable. Negatives: our room had no ice bucket, & though I requested 1 from the front desk our first day, never got it in the 3 days we were there; the safe didn’t work—couldn’t reset it, so never used it.

My room was excellent overall, but it did not seem to have been vacuumed before my arrival or during my stay, and the rug was stained. The air conditioning really struggled to keep up with the daytime heat, and it was only May, so I can't imagine what it will be like in the peak of summer. I also received an intrusive visit from maintenance while I was in the room getting ready, which I did not appreciate. The rooftop pool and deck were lovely, but I had to request that the towels be restocked, and they only restocked about 5 towels, despite there being 20 people at the pool. Those were gone immediately and did not get restocked again that day. I wish there had been food and drinks available throughout the day, but the options were very limited after breakfast, and the bar was not open every evening. There were mechanical problems with one of the two elevators that I found extremely frustrating. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. I reported this to the front desk, but there did not appear to be any maintenance work on the elevator during my stay. Instead, they closed it off for two days, which made it impossible to get off my floor, because every time the elevator stopped on the way down, it was already full. All the staircases were marked as emergency only, so I was frequently delayed and felt trapped. The bed in my room was comfortable, and the TV and bathroom were HUGE. The staff was very nice, but they were clearly understaffed.

The biggest and coziest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in.

The room was great and spacious. It was very loud . You could hear all the outside noise and ambulances and freeway noise. I was woken up all night. Either by fwy noise or guests hanging in the hallway at 3am . We were there for a basketball tournament.

Our stay was amazing! Ms. Monique at the front desk was AMAZING!!! Customer Service A1! We will be returning! 10/10 I highly recommend!

The Jung Hotel and Residence is great for the price. We stayed in the executive king room which had a modern washer/dryer in the closet. We found this to be helpful and definitely used it. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes glassware pots. Fridge kept food cold. Good microwave. This was great when reheating our leftovers. There was an electric stove top but we didnt use it. The bathroom is spacious and clean. Front desk was nice. Valet guys were also nice. The lobby is clean and also spacious. I took away one star in all categories for the following reasons. When I needed to contact the front desk for extra towels, amenities or questions, no one answered. I had made several attempts and it kept ringing or would send me back to the previous menu. I had to go downstairs to the frontdesk for requests. After a long day, I really didnt want to have to run back down. Next, the beds were slightly uncomfortable (way too soft) and the pillows were flat and also too soft. Soft as in these pillows and beds have been around for along time. The sheets had black spots or stains and some holes. Overall the linens pillows and beds could use an overhaul. The walls are thin and you can hear everything that is happening in the hallway. Location-wise, it is in a great area close to everything. All in all I would probably come back again for a short stay.

All staff was great. The front desk clerk that checked me in helped me a lot. I will definitely be booking again.

Hotel Said They Don’t Offer Free Bottle of Wine Anymore and They Dont Offer Room Upgrade anymore. Plus There Was Hair In The Bathroom Sink. Valet Wasn’t Available. Hotel Desk Wasn’t Helpful At All.

We had an amazing time at The Jung Hotel, the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The room was very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

While we did encounter a nice guy upon our arrival, some of the staff is very unprofessional. I asked a simple question and was berated, laughed at, and treated all around terribly. & while the situation was handled in the end, it should have never happened. People should be treated with respect; not because I’m a customer, but simply because I am a person and I was not disrespectful. Based on the extremely rude staff members, the stains in the bathroom, and the hair in the shower that we, thankfully, didn’t use (bc the room was used to get ready for an event) I would not recommend this property.

Staff just seemed like they didn't care of you there or not, I never could get the Internet to work the the front desk to get the "Passcode" and I still couldn't get it working.

First and foremost, this is the 2nd time I have stayed at the JUNG and the hotel is beautiful. the room and staff are amazing. SAM!!! YOU ARE DOPE. you made me and my sisters feel like VIP the way you went above and beyond for us. if you go to THE JUNG, ask for Sam. now the area surrounding this hotel is a bit sketchy some unwanted people would come through which is annoying and, in the future, would change the vibe of this hotel. I feel like they need to add SECURITY SECURITY to prevent unwanted visitors from coming and staying at the hotel. I hope when I visit NOLA again, I can stay here.

It was very convenient and within walking distance to my venue and shops.

The Jung is conveniently located along Canal Street. It is an easy walk or Uber to the French Quarter and most of downtown. The coffee shop downstairs is great -- highly recommend the lattes.

We were able to easily walk to the Superdome from this location. We were also close to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. The hotel was very well kept inside and located in an historic building. It was just what we wanted and we would stay here again.

The rooms were nice and the staff was friendly. The hotel is in a great location. Away from the noise. Only a 10 min walk from Bourbon St. And approx 25 min walk from Jackson Square. We enjoyed everything about this hotel.

Very happy with our stay at The Jung. I liked that it was close to the Quarter but far enough away that we didn't have to deal with the noise at night. We walked back to the hotel 5 nights in a row from the Quarter relatively late and never felt unsafe. I recommend walking along the side of Canal that CVS and other businesses are as it is better lit on that side for the duration of the walk.The hotel itself is much nicer than I anticipated. I LOVE that there is no carpet anywhere! Our room (executive king) with a recliner and kitchenette was perfect. I was also impressed with the valet service. They were always pleasant and attentive and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes. I will absolutely stay here again.

Poor location at the wrong end of Canal Street - felt very uncomfortable walking back at night.

Hotel and staff were great. Swimming pool area was good, lots of places to sit and a few sun beds. Pool was the correct temperature to cool down when the sun was hot. Hotel about a 15 mins walk to Bourbon street but if this is to loud for you go to Frenchman street for jazz / blues type evening. Hotel parking is expensive at $50 per night

The jung is my go to Nola hotel. Clean, friendly and convenient. Out of the busy Burbon street area but still walking distance

Was ok... but there was no dining to go eat at ....coffee shop closed at 2pm everyday and the bar do not open until 4pm or 5 pm in the evening

Can't beat the location! Check in was easy, staff very helpful and friendly! The only disappointment was the coffee shop hours, they need to be open earlier than 7 and open at least til 3
