Mostly nice. Concerns: 1. Floor sometimes makes noise like stepping on and off a flat piece of metal like a cookie sheet. In the middle of the night, that was quite startling. Perhaps the flooring was installed over an unusual, metallic surface. 2. Shower curtain had an unsightly stain. Nice features: desk clerk is friendly. There is a patio area with a big screen TV. It looks like a good gathering place for guests.

Clean and comfortable place to stay when you are on the road. A bonus was the nice courtyard with trees and chairs and tables that we used, especially since our room had no view and the window opened to the hallway, which I didn’t like.

If you're in the room next to the street, it's not quiet; otherwise it is. Price was better than other places in town. Right across from the police department; safe part of town. Internet was a bit iffy with their Video-On-Demand (which was awesome - Netflix, Hulu, etc), and closed captions were a pain. Their tv-tuning mechanism was also a bit painful. They had a microwave, small fridge, but no ice-maker. Big walk-in shower. Beds were comfortable. Trim-work a bit sub-par, but that's just cosmetic. Clean. comfortable, great value. My wife is already making plans to re-visit again; I just heard her on the phone inviting her sister, "We should go again and y'all should come with us; the rooms are cheap and cute...", and then she changed topics, so I don't know where exactly she was going with her story. They have a neat semi-enclosed porch area that's nice to sit in in nice weather; the manager, who was good-spirited and helpful, offered to tune in the Dallas Cowboys game on the TV in that porch, but it was cool enough that our group retired to our rooms instead to watch the game. The road next to the motel is a main road through town, a 1-minute drive to United Supermarkets and Sonic and McD's and Subway, etc. If you're rolling in money, you're going to want the big-bucks hotels; but if you're simple middle-class folks and don't expect big-bucks amenities, I think you'll be content with this choice. I'm confident we'll revisit.

The TV did nt work at first. Then when it did, it ws too hard to maipulate. I'm not a dummy but it was not easy. When I called about it after I was out, the person answering the phone seemed to chastise me for not being there when she came to check on the TV. She finally got it to work. No ice machine.

very nice old motel renovated to modern standards. only negatives, parking is a little tight but doable and both time we stayed there recently the ice machine was not working. Some of the furniture is old but serviceable. Will stay there again if we go to Canyon.

Amazing price for a clean room! I felt safe here with my kids. The owners are working diligently on making repairs and upgrades! The little patio in the middle is adorable and perfect for morning coffee or gathering with adults at night. Their little boy is an added burst of joy to see everyday!

The room was just okay and for the price, it was as a good value. That said, the sofa and upholstered bench seat in the room were pretty dirty and stained, giving a dirty look to the room. Most of the other rooms in that area were over $100 which I did not want to spend so overall it was OK. The bed was comfortable. It’s just that the furniture was so dirty.

The floors in the room and bathroom had not been swept or mopped from previous stays. The bath tub was dirty; wouldn't set foot in it. I stayed 3 nights unfortunately, I would have left if I could have gotten a refund. The TV set up was difficult to operate and no instructions were in the room on how to use the system.

The room was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the TV would not turn on with the remote. We had to turn it on with the buttons on the back of the TV. (not enough of an issue to lower the score)

No food was available, no ice was available. Room was clean but tv didn’t work properly. Had to get manager to come & explain how tv worked, no explanation was in the room internet was extremely slow. Hot & cold water taps were mixed up in bathroom.

Room was tucked back in a storage hallway with items leaning up against the wall. Shower controls were installed backwards. Room needed a lot of maintenance. TV worked one day not the next, electrical outlets were loose and wouldn’t hold a cord. The owner was nice but service was on a request basis. Bathroom door had a hole in it. Plastic was still on the box springs. Location is convenient but needs a lot of maintenance inside and out.

We attempted check-in 1 hour, 24 minutes early--in town for a funeral. We were told we would be charged $15 extra. I commented there were only 2 vehicles in the entire lot, 1 of which was the managers, that nobody was present, they were not busy. We were told the $15 would still apply. We left & checked in much later. Previous reviews stated this was a locally owned business, & that it was good to support them. I agree--however, this is NOT a locally owned business, the motel employees confirmed. Rooms are VERY BASIC, NO frills, with a TV system VERY difficult to navigate. We were afraid to walk around in the room without slippers, refused to use the shower. This place is NOT worth the seemingly discounted price. WHY it has the high ranking we do NOT understand. Opt for a place you feel SAFE and cared for in. If you're looking for a CHEAP place to stay--and want CHEAP accommodations--this place is perfect. But seriously, a $15 extra fee for checking in 1 hr, 24 min early for a funeral?!?! Recommendation to travelers: Stay elsewhere.

The TV did nt work at first. Then when it did, it ws too hard to maipulate. I'm not a dummy but it was not easy. When I called about it after I was out, the person answering the phone seemed to chastise me for not being there when she came to check on the TV. She finally got it to work. No ice machine.

Taking off 1 star only because we found a couple of unrecognizable bugs immediately after we checked in. However the owners were great and switched us immediately to another room without a problem. That room was perfect and had great water pressure in the shower. We only stayed 1 night but the beds were comfortable and the room nice and cold. Was nicely updated. Loved that the fridge had a freezer section. Would stay again. Very nice owners who manage the property. One thing to be aware of is that they are not always on property. They use a Ring doorbell. So press the button. You may have to wait 10 minutes to check in.

The hotel was quiet but we requested a specific room and was told by Richard that he had taken care of it. Then we left my husband stayed and the lady f the front desk open the door to the room while knocking and my husband was taking a shower he went to the office and they laughed in his face.

Ok for the price. It could use a better tv and beds. The bed was too firm for us and the bedding was very thin. It was clean. The tv was difficult to operate. The bathroom was clean and soaps were nice enough. Very close to the canyon. The town is interesting.

Perfect if you’re not looking for something fancy. It’s right in the middle of Canyon, TX. A bit noisy but close to everything. The staff were great. I would happily stay here again.

If you are looking for a no frills clean room with a bed and bathroom this place is perfect. The whole purpose of my trip there was to do some mountain bike riding at Palo Duro Canyon which was like maybe 15 minutes away. This place had everything I needed for what I wanted to do. I was able to park right in front of my room and walk right in. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Motel room and bathroom were clean. Bed quality was good. We enjoyed staying there for two nights. However, toilet was clogged, but staff helped quickly. Social area to sit outside. Small city centre with dining facilities and nice little shops in walkable distance.

Right off the main highway and across from the Police Station! Old but quaint. Bring your own Kleenex's. No room issues at all. Needed the AC and Heat both during this trip and they worked perfectly. Shower had some discoloration on some of the tiles in one corner. Shower pressure was great. I'll stay here again.

Terrible! The floor went uphill to the second bed. The furniture slanted and was so old. Lamp shade was broken, the coffee pot leaked, and there was a bug on the sheets. And it was only two sheets to cover with on bed. For over a $100 for one night, I expected so much more. Also no breakfast.

No food was available, no ice was available. Room was clean but tv didn’t work properly. Had to get manager to come & explain how tv worked, no explanation was in the room internet was extremely slow. Hot & cold water taps were mixed up in bathroom.

The room was clean but could use some maintenance - caulking in the shower. Ice dispenser was a bin system on the outside of the building with lots of potential for contamination. Other than that every thing was good.

staff was very helpful. i was having trouble getting my park pass and the desk clerk said he could help me with that and booked my trip through the park. printed up my pass and a map for me .this made my day! room was clean and very comfortable. we just did a 5000 mile road trip and this room was way above any of the other rooms we stayed at in this price range.

The room was clean. There was a microwave, coffee maker & small refrigerator. The gentleman who checked me in was courteous. The reviews I’d read were correct … motel across the street from WTA&M Campus; bed sheets had stains, thin bed cover, TV didn’t work during cloudy rainstorm; one could access online choices but not cable; parking in front of room; no pool, exercise room or breakfast. But the room was clean, towels clean. Shower worked well. The price was affordable. I’d stay here again.

There was only one bath towel and the towels were thin and dingy. After returning to our room around midnight the sewer smell filled the room. You con not even watch local news on the television. On a positive note the beds were clean and comfortable. The shower was good and the lighting was great.
