What a fantastic hotel. The staff were brilliant—super friendly and helpful, whether it was the day or night reception. The location is perfect, with pretty much everything just a short walk away. What we loved: The entire hotel was immaculate. Our room was lovely and really spacious. Genuinely great staff all round. The minor downsides: Parking was £15 a night. While that's actually a decent price for the city centre, it would have been nice if it was just included. That steep hill on the way back! The views are great, but the walk is a bit of a workout. (Though there is a bus that stops right outside, which is a great option). Overall, it's honestly one of the best hotels we've stayed in. We'd 100% recommend it

Room 503 is right at the very top of the hotel - see the photo. Stairs only from the 3rd floor and steep steps from 4th to 5th. Issue for those with large/heavy suitcases. Reception did not offer support for luggage. Lift worked on the first day but out of order the next. However the view from the window over Bath is awesome.

The hotel was very good. Large rooms, well equipped and very clean. Very warm (-2 outside). Staff were friendly and helpful. Cannot be faulted. Only problem was parking which is very limited and was also causing problems for other people. We were lucky enough to park about 200m up the road, but it meant we left the car there and walked into the city (steep hills but easy 20min walk). For us the parking limits on the road weekend, but if we were the during the day it would have been harder. It worked, but something to be aware of. For us the location closer to the city was worth it.

We had a nice three night stay in Bath. Our room was very comfortable and we had a nice patio. It was not completely private, but we were able to keep the patio door open and let in some fresh air. The rooms are very spread out and we were far from the front desk. There are many short staircases, which were a slight problem with heavy luggage. We ate a good dinner in the restaurant one night. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill (for walking or driving) and about .75 miles from the main part of Bath. This could be a real challenge for those who have limited mobility, are elderly, or have small children. Overall, it was a nice, older hotel.

The property was very unique. Lovely views. Great service. The only caution is if you have trouble with stairs this may not be the place to stay. There are stairs everywhere. That said, the stairs and different levels added charm. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.

Nice old building conveniently located for walking to Bath city center and around Bath in general. The hotel is old and quaint. Definitely not very accessible. Be prepared to carry your suitcases up and down multiple sets of stairs. The staff were very helpful. The parking is limited but if you get there early, you should be able to get a spot.

We complained to management that having paid for premium rooms with a city view, there was in fact no view as our windows were obscured by scaffolding and the workers outside were looking into the rooms. I logged a complaint and asked for a refund and were told that I needed to contact you as you are the payment agent. Please confirm that you will deal with this as a matter of urgency.

We booked a city view room that was one of the 6 with 3 full windows. It was well worth it! Bed and room comfy and well appointed. The breakfast package was great value! Although there is a lift, some stairs to rooms as well. It is a grand old building. Onsite parking at 15 GDP per night was also well worth it. Get there early enough to grab a spot. The Hotel is up a steep hill to the city, but bus outside to Bath centre if required. Local places to eat nearby down the hill including the great Pig and Fiddle pub. We did not eat dinner at the Hotel, but it was available.

We only stayed for 1 night while visiting our son at university. We did not use any of the hotel facilities, we checked in late, slept for the night and left fairly early in the morning. It felt an old but nice building, room was nice and clean. The only criticism was the noise. The road by the hotel was fairly busy, late at night and early in the morning, therefore there was a lot of noise coming from outside. Also the floor boards were very old and noisy, every time someone walked pass our room in the hall, we heard them walk and talk very clearly, same from the room above us.

Lovely hotel, staff friendly & very helpful. Food was great. Room was clean & had everything we needed. The fans were much appreciated as it was very warm when we stayed.

Stay was OK at best. Staff were friendly on reception. Didn't eat or drink at the hotel so not able to comment on service there. The room however was disappointing. There was urine left in the toilet bowl when we checked in so we weren't sure if the toilet hadn't been cleaned or if a member of staff had used it and not cleaned it after. The shower also made a horrific noise when being used meaning that we had to have really quick showers to avoid irritating the neighbouring rooms too much although I wouldn't be surprised if they complained about the noise too. Garden view room was away from the main road so no road noise but as it's a lovely old building there are creaking floorboards throughout and you can hear everyone walking past your room. Something to keep in mind if you were hoping for peace and quiet.

Love this hotel, staff friendly and always helpful. Food great. Room clean and a good shower with plenty of hot water and good pressure. This is the 2nd time we stayed here and no complaints. Only 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of town

The staff were probably the best asset for this hotel. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. It is in desperate need for a makeover and looked quite run down. My room was not clean. The carpet had stains, the bathroom floor was not clean either. The bedside lamp did not work either. I am amazed that this is classed as a four star hotel. I would have classed it a 2 star. The saving grace was the staff who were all lovely. Also it is situated at the top of a very steep hill. I dreaded having to walk up the steep hill after spending the day sight seeing.

The room we had beautiful high ceilings and was very spacious! It was a well presented beautiful room with excellent facilities and views. The hotel property overall was beautiful with great character on the inside and the breakfast room mesmerised me each time I sat to treat myself to the sumptuous meal.

The stay was better than I expected! We usually book a smaller hotel so I was worried this would be a large, aged hotel. but it had a nice cosy feel and staff were very friendly/welcoming. Room was refurbished nicely and we had nice city view from our bay window. Bed comfy, room spacious ( yes floorboards creak). The shower was ok but had a lot of noise from pipes if we had it turned on full. Safe wasn’t working when we arrived and though we were told it would be fixed straight away it wasn’t ( we were offered use of main hotel safe)

We were able to park our car at the hotel & walk into city centre in 20mins so it was ideal to explore the city as we were only in Bath overnight before setting off early the next morning. We stayed in a 3rd floor city view room which was amazing. Very roomy and with a large comfy bed, great facilities in room such as a Tassimo coffee machine. Sitting at the comfortable table and chairs looking out through the bay windows over the city centre as the sun went down and the lights started to come on all over the city was a particular highlight of our wider trip. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again as my first choice next time I visit Bath as it has plenty of character, friendly & helpful staff on reception and at a good value price

Paid extra for a garden view which from the 3rd floor room we were given turned out to be the top of a tree. Pretty disappointing. When I complained I was offered a £10 discount off my £20 parking bill. When I suggested it should be more I was told by the manager he would have to contact head office for authorisation, could I wait a further 30 mins. Really! Hotel is sold as 'quirky', for that you can read pretty 'dated', due a refurbishment. Staff were pleasant and attentive. The hotel is 10 min downhill walk from the city centre, but what you don't find out till you arrive is that the bus service stops at 8:30. So it's a climb back up or a taxi if you choose to eat in the city. I'd personally recommend paying a bit more for a hotel in the centre.
Paid extra for a garden view which from the 3rd floor room we were given turned out to be the top of a tree. Pretty disappointing. When I complained I was offered a £10 discount off my £20 parking bill. When I suggested it should be more I was told by the manager he would have to contact head office for authorisation, could I wait a further 30 mins. Really! Hotel is sold as 'quirky', for that you can read pretty 'dated', due a refurbishment. Staff were pleasant and attentive. The hotel is 10 min downhill walk from the city centre, but what you don't find out till you arrive is that the bus service stops at 8:30. So it's a climb back up or a taxi if you choose to eat in the city. I'd personally recommend paying a bit more for a hotel in the centre.

We booked a city view room that was one of the 6 with 3 full windows. It was well worth it! Bed and room comfy and well appointed. The breakfast package was great value! Although there is a lift, some stairs to rooms as well. It is a grand old building. Onsite parking at 15 GDP per night was also well worth it. Get there early enough to grab a spot. The Hotel is up a steep hill to the city, but bus outside to Bath centre if required. Local places to eat nearby down the hill including the great Pig and Fiddle pub. We did not eat dinner at the Hotel, but it was available.

First night was awful! It was very hot, so we had to have the windows open. That meant lots of noise from cars going by & very little sleep. Management upgraded us to a room the 2nd night - A/C and very quiet! Thank you so much - what a difference! Staff was very polite. Hotel is far from center of town, but Bath is a beautiful location! Lots to see and do!

The staff were really helpful and made you feel welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Rohit was very friendly and delivered great service. At the end of my stay, I accidentally left my charger in the room. I phoned the hotel and they arranged to post it back to me. For me that goes the extra mile. I will return if I go back to Bath - despite the hill walk!

What a fantastic hotel. The staff were brilliant—super friendly and helpful, whether it was the day or night reception. The location is perfect, with pretty much everything just a short walk away. What we loved: The entire hotel was immaculate. Our room was lovely and really spacious. Genuinely great staff all round. The minor downsides: Parking was £15 a night. While that's actually a decent price for the city centre, it would have been nice if it was just included. That steep hill on the way back! The views are great, but the walk is a bit of a workout. (Though there is a bus that stops right outside, which is a great option). Overall, it's honestly one of the best hotels we've stayed in. We'd 100% recommend it

What an absolutely lovely hotel. Was staying here for business for three nights. The hotel might be an old building, but it was clean, well looked after and the service was superb. The restaurant was wonderful, so much so that we ate here every night. The menu is small, but that really doesn't matter as the food was wonderful. The staff are very helpful, welcoming and were bending over backwards for us.

The hotel has huge potential but the service didn’t live up to it. There was only one member of staff checking in running the bar etc…..I wanted a drink and waited 10 mins for him to appear at one point and then he said he would check the customers in behind me…..not great!!!

A 1-night stay while our daughter moved into her university accommodation. We have stayed here before. Only a 10 minute walk into the centre. We knew from a previous visit that you have to get a parking space early, so we did, and then checked in later. Very helpful, friendly staff.

The hotel was very good, and gave me information about parking and accessibility to the town Because of their info, I was able to park on site as I came before 11am, and for 3 days. Buses stopped outside and so avoid the very steep hill to the hotel. Meals were very good if a little pricey. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Enjoyable stay!!

Ideal location for visiting Bath if you are fit and mobile. The short walk into Bath City centre is pleasant and down hill. Brace yourself for the uphill return or take the bus/taxi. Easy to travel to from M4 - no requirement to drive into Bath. All staff helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. This is our go to hotel when visiting Bath.

Nice old building conveniently located for walking to Bath city center and around Bath in general. The hotel is old and quaint. Definitely not very accessible. Be prepared to carry your suitcases up and down multiple sets of stairs. The staff were very helpful. The parking is limited but if you get there early, you should be able to get a spot.

Lovely location, walking into city is 15 mins, really central with parking. Walk back is uphill but walked off all the food! We had lovely quiet room, really comfortable bed and breakfast was definitely worth including.

Loved our stay here. It’s a hotel with a bit of character and personality which is a nice change from some of the bland chain hotels. V comfortable and quiet rooms, friendly staff and a really delicious and well priced breakfast.

We had a wonderful weekend staying at this hotel. It was a very interesting building with a lovely, inviting bar and dining room. The rooms were nicely decorated and made you feel as if you were treating yourself a little. The bed was very comfortable, and I could lie and gaze out over a fantastic view of Bath. The food was excellent. We usually eat out when we go away, but we ate at the hotel both nights - the curries on the menu were so good! It was such a lovely hotel; we are already planning a return later in the year.

Would highly recommend this establisment to anyone. Very helpful staff, very clean and good parking, although as with most hotels it did cost extra. If you do walk to the hotel, be aware that Bath is more hilly than you think. If you are less mobile, there is a bus service that drops you at the door but everything was close enough for us to walk. Dinner snd breakfast were outstanding both in the quality and service.

We really enjoyed our stay at Landsdown Grove. We traveled as a couple for work in Bath and really liked the beautiful mansion. The hotel is both beautiful and charming, located on one of the hills with a beautiful view. It is within walking distance of the city center and close to regular public transportation by bus. The staff was really helpful and did their utmost to assist in any matter. The ala carte breakfast made to order, which was included in our stay, is highly recommendable. We would not hesitate to revisit the hotel, should we return to Bath in the future.

Hotel situation ideal just out of centre but an easy walk or short bus ride with bus stops right outside hotel to Milsom Street. Hotel very comfortable, very clean and beds super comfy. Parts of hotel looking tired especially from the outside. Staff polite and friendly. Breakfast was a huge letdown sadly. No croissants or pastries just cheap sliced bread, limited cereals and you have to ask for them. Juice not a high quality and the pancakes were not cooked.

Paid for a particular room for 3 nights but the 1st night I was in a substandard room. I asked to be moved to the type of room I paid for & was moved the next day. Garden area was not very inviting and bar/lounge was unmanned so unable to get drink. Woken at 8am on Sunday morning by noisy pipes that lasted a good hour. Maintenance man said nothing he could do. Booked for a special birthday but stay was ruined by all the unnecessary problems that didn't expect in a 4* hotel. Reception just apologised but didn't offer anything for all the inconveniences. Should have booked a premier inn at half the price.

Fint hotel i Bath, men praktisk placering i gåafstand fra de romerske bade. Der er parkering på stedet (først til mølle), men det koster så også 15 pund. Haven der fremstår meget idyllisk på billederne er delvist fyldt af stilladser. Sengene gode og der var en blæser på værelset pga varmen. Morgenmad med ok udvalg.

Room was very clean, staff very attentive, breakfast was very good although a tad expensive, parking £15.00 per night based on a first come first serve basis, but once parked up no need to use the car again as the bus stop is on the main road past the hotel, city is 0.7 miles from the hotel, easy walk down cardio workout to get back, we would definitely stay there again.
