Hotel is cute, well located and tastefully decorated ( 2nd floor queen room). Mgr/ owner is attentive, and helpful. However, there is no access to the lake or dock, and nothing within walking distance. Breakfast is limited to cereal, juice and pastries, without having the mgr/ owner cook the pancakes, waffles or eggs (no meat available). Room has a "no eating or drinking sign", toilet ran continuously, and made a "groaning" sound when it was flushed. The owner/ manager called us about the groaning noise coming from the toilet (he could hear it downstairs), and sent a text around 1030pm asking us to turn the water off to the toilet if it continued). We both found the bed to be extremely hard and the room was cold (no individual room ac control). I wish the owners the best, but at close to $200 a night, our expectations were higher. We will not be returning.

We had a wonderful stay! The property is beautiful, nestled in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful lake across from the entrance. The property is beautiful and full of southern charm. The room we stayed in was the Captain’s Room which is nautical themed and featured a jacuzzi tub (I unfortunately didn’t get to test out the jacuzzi function though). It was adorably decorated and very cozy. Breakfast service in the morning takes place in the common area of the office. Everything was delicious and fresh and we got to take treats for the road too. You can’t eat in the room but there’s a cute space to dine in the screened in porch, which was a super fun experience to have dinner with my husband at night! There’s also a property cat. He is sweet as can be. I recommend head pats. 10/10 experience.

Older, but very cute and well appointed BNB with a beautiful view of Lake Helen, and a great screened in porch for hanging out. Interior and exterior were immaculate and everything was in working condition. The owners were readily available and very pleasant. Breakfast was a simple, but very adequate continental style with waffles and eggs made to order. We would definitely return back to this BNB without hesitation. In all, we rented 3 of the 4 rooms available and everyone in our party was pleased with the choice.

Our weekend stay was excellent host were very friendly and the room was super clean. Our blueberry pancakes were fabulous could have asked for a better stay. No people running around very private and beautiful location very peaceful overlooking the lake with ducks swimming.

Everything was very clean, and breakfast was delicious. The hosts were super helpful and communicative. She had great recommendations for where to go and eat. Hugo was a wonderful host. He suggested various places to visit. He made great pancakes. It was fun watching him feed the ducks. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The house was quiet and peaceful. It's worth a return trip.

The house is lovely and clean, and situated in a very quiet area. The hosts were friendly. We liked our room and slept comfortably. We had to download the Roku app to change the volume on the TV, because it was too quiet to hear. The bathroom fixtures, esp the shower, could be updated. Continental breakfast options were nice, although the waffles and pancakes we saw in photos were not visible or shown on a menu; when we asked, they graciously offered to make them, but we felt funny about it. I wouldn't really consider this a "bed and breakfast" in the classic sense, because it's not about the hosts cooking breakfast for guests. And I can see why - with only three rooms, the inn is too small for that to be practical. Just be aware of that fact when you book. The small size of the inn is asset because it is peaceful and quiet. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Very nice B & B in Lake Helen. It could not have been more peaceful. The Island room was clean and comfortable.The breakfast was fine, but not elaborate. Hugo the host, was very pleasant and had a lot of info about the area. A great place to get away if visiting the areas springs or the mystic village of Cassadaga.

Hugo was a wonderful host. He suggested various places to visit. He made great pancakes. It was fun watching him feed the ducks. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The house was quiet and peaceful. It's worth a return trip.

Very nice B & B in Lake Helen. It could not have been more peaceful. The Island room was clean and comfortable.The breakfast was fine, but not elaborate. Hugo the host, was very pleasant and had a lot of info about the area. A great place to get away if visiting the areas springs or the mystic village of Cassadaga.

Hotel is cute, well located and tastefully decorated ( 2nd floor queen room). Mgr/ owner is attentive, and helpful. However, there is no access to the lake or dock, and nothing within walking distance. Breakfast is limited to cereal, juice and pastries, without having the mgr/ owner cook the pancakes, waffles or eggs (no meat available). Room has a "no eating or drinking sign", toilet ran continuously, and made a "groaning" sound when it was flushed. The owner/ manager called us about the groaning noise coming from the toilet (he could hear it downstairs), and sent a text around 1030pm asking us to turn the water off to the toilet if it continued). We both found the bed to be extremely hard and the room was cold (no individual room ac control). I wish the owners the best, but at close to $200 a night, our expectations were higher. We will not be returning.

We had a wonderful stay! The property is beautiful, nestled in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful lake across from the entrance. The property is beautiful and full of southern charm. The room we stayed in was the Captain’s Room which is nautical themed and featured a jacuzzi tub (I unfortunately didn’t get to test out the jacuzzi function though). It was adorably decorated and very cozy. Breakfast service in the morning takes place in the common area of the office. Everything was delicious and fresh and we got to take treats for the road too. You can’t eat in the room but there’s a cute space to dine in the screened in porch, which was a super fun experience to have dinner with my husband at night! There’s also a property cat. He is sweet as can be. I recommend head pats. 10/10 experience.

We really enjoyed our experience staying at the Cabin on the Lake. It was cozy, welcoming, and truly a special place. We loved the lake and grounds. Everything was very clean, and breakfast was delicious. The hosts were super helpful and communicative. She had great recommendations for where to go and eat. We enjoyed downtown DeLand which was having a cute community event the night we went. It was just what we needed for a night away together as a couple. Thank you! We will be back!

Older, but very cute and well appointed BNB with a beautiful view of Lake Helen, and a great screened in porch for hanging out. Interior and exterior were immaculate and everything was in working condition. The owners were readily available and very pleasant. Breakfast was a simple, but very adequate continental style with waffles and eggs made to order. We would definitely return back to this BNB without hesitation. In all, we rented 3 of the 4 rooms available and everyone in our party was pleased with the choice.

The house is lovely and clean, and situated in a very quiet area. The hosts were friendly. We liked our room and slept comfortably. We had to download the Roku app to change the volume on the TV, because it was too quiet to hear. The bathroom fixtures, esp the shower, could be updated. Continental breakfast options were nice, although the waffles and pancakes we saw in photos were not visible or shown on a menu; when we asked, they graciously offered to make them, but we felt funny about it. I wouldn't really consider this a "bed and breakfast" in the classic sense, because it's not about the hosts cooking breakfast for guests. And I can see why - with only three rooms, the inn is too small for that to be practical. Just be aware of that fact when you book. The small size of the inn is asset because it is peaceful and quiet. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

When we arrived we noticed immediately that the grounds were in poor shape. The screens on the outer portion of the structure all appeared as if they had been poorly repaired and were in need of some attention. We had requested an early check in as we had a 4:00 pm wedding to attend in New Smyrna. When we made our reservation we were advised that we could have a 2:00 pm check in. When we arrived at 1:50 pm (Normal check-in is at 3:00 pm) I was advised that there was an additional $30 charge for the early check-in and our room was not ready. In addition, we were reminded in a manner that lacked a welcoming and friendly attitude that our early check-in was at 2:00. We were invited to sit in the lobby and partake of tea and coffee but would have to wait until 2:00 pm to check-in. In all my years of traveling, I have never paid an early check-in fee until my check-in at the Cabin on the Lake. The accommodations were adequate and tidy. Prior to arriving on property we were considering returning for a quiet weekend in September, but have definitely changed our mind.

Clean room, charming staff, great location, close to about everything we were interested in. Hugo takes care of everything so you don’t have to! What a diamond in the rough! Totally worth it if you looking to chill for a few days!
