The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

Due to a shortage of housekeeping staff we couldn’t get into our room until 6pm! The floor in our room was gritty due to sand being brought into the room. The room obviously hadn’t been swept for some time and the shower tray wasn’t particularly clean. Location of hotel was very good, right on the beach. The beach was great, white powdery sand. We sat on the beach and didn’t use the pool as there was loud music blearing out there. There were lots of kids running around. Hotels.com website says that beach sun loungers and umbrellas are complimentary, but in fact this is incorrect as you had to pay $55 per day!

We really enjoyed our stay

Loved it! The room was nice and steps from the pool. My daughter had the steak tacos and she loved them too.

Room had sand all over the floor, hair in the shower, the toilet seat was broken, and water leaked in from the rain by the door. When I mentioned it calmly to the front desk all they said was "oh thanks for letting us know"

Was a bit cloudy and rainy. We had a pool view but didn't get a chance to enjoy it. Was quieter than I expected. Had a great time with our group at Escape to the Island.
