We stayed here with a large family group and the place served our purposes very well. The house is just across the road from a beautiful beach which was not crowded at all. You get a lot of bang for your buck--this place was several thousand dollars less than other large houses and/or places with beach access like this. The house is not high end, it is a little worn (carpets were stained, couch has seen better days) but given the price and location that was ok with us. Also note that the house had only starter supplies of basics such as toilet paper, soap, detergent etc. Again, the amount you spend on these items pales in comparison to the good deal you get on the house. Also, the house does not come with beach towels or chairs. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and pots and pans, well set up for cooking. Glenn was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The house was exactly as advertised and I would definitely recommend.

The house was a good size for our family of 6 adults and 4 kids. The third floor sleeping area worked especially well for the kids. 2 girls on one side and 2 boys on the other. Plenty of room! Each family unit had their own bathroom (except the third floor), plus the lavatory off the kitchen. Most bathrooms had hand soap provided but no other toiletries for showering. The kitchen was well equipped. Could have used more than 2 kitchen towels. The dishwasher had some issues but Glenn was quick to respond. It may need some work as it still leaks. We made good use of both porches and the grill during our stay as well as the washer and dryer.Fortunately our daughter drove to the beach house and was able to bring beach chairs, towels, and sand toys. None are provided.It was a lovely, roomy house in which to stay. It was very conveniently located with easy access to the beach.

We love Folly Beach and make it an annual family trip in October. This was our first time in this particular property. The house is big and close to the beach. There were a few glitches - cleaners didn't show up until our check-in time so we had to wait. One of the main bedrooms had a broken bed which necessitated one family to move into a room with a double bed. Glen was responsive to these issues and a new bed was delivered later in the week. My older son was thrilled to have a car charging station at the house. Overall, it's a nice property, but it really needs some routine maintenance and sprucing up.

The house is as pictured and location is fantastic, it does need to be refreshed, the couch is not great to sit on as some of the cushions go mostly to the floor and make it hard to get up. The run in the main area has many pulled strands, the back porch has a fantastic table and couch but the sliding door glass has all lost its seals and does not look great. It is reasonably priced compared to others in the area.

The property is a very short walk to the public beach access and there was plenty of room for our group of 10--not only in terms of driveway space, but also the many bedrooms, large living room, front and back porches, etc. We had lots of space to hang around, cook for the group, and toss a football around. The walk to the main street in Folly was probably about 15 minutes and very straightforward. Very quiet neighborhood and as the title of this review suggests VERY close to the beach!

Super convenient to the beach. Lots of parking. Private lot, quiet area. The home has a lot of elbow room with the very top floor perfect for kids. Beds are very comfy. Bedrooms and bathrooms are roomy. Top floor needs TLC with the odor. Wooden stairs to the front entrance needs replacing. Lots of places to eat and shop. The pier is brand new. Beach near the home is absolutely beautiful and spacious. Take your beach chairs and beach towels from home as there are none available at the house. We had a great time. Thank you for sharing your home.

We stayed at fantasy island for a family vacation. Really enjoyed the front and back porches and convenient beach access. Host was prompt with communication and we had no issues during our stay. House was big enough for everyone to have their own space when needed and livingroom and back porch were able to accommodate everyone at once.

We enjoyed staying at this house and having our Thanksgiving meal here. They had really nice pots and glass jars for our use. there were a few key areas that could have been cleaner, such as mold on the water spout on the refridgerator. The top floor was advertised as two bedrooms but there was no privacy or seperation of the space. The kitchen was open to the living room which really worked for us and the kids really enjoyed the play kitchen on the back porch. The beach chairs and the sand toys were definitely used. While some things could have been better, overall, we were happy with our stay

We had a great time at the beach and surrounding area. We weren’t as impressed by the cleanliness of the property and lack of cleaning supplies. (We had a spill and were told to buy our own mop) The property also lacked any kind of exercise/fitness equipment, jacuzzi tub was very old and not clean.. All of the kitchen cabinets were filled so there was no where for our groceries. Trash had not been picked up from the last visitors so it was terribly smelly and overfill. Just expected better for the price and based on other reviews

I came to Folly for my son's wedding in Charleston and to enjoy the beach. The home was clean and just a quick walk to the beach. I will stay there again when back in the area. Highly recommended.

House was clean and spacious. Right across from a public beach! It is walkable to downtown, although it’s about a mile. We did have a bit of trouble finding Ubers to downtown Charleston, which we did not expect. But overall the house was comfortable and clean. Only complaint is there was no salt or pepper for cooking, which is not typically something I bring or buy on a trip. Overall, very pleased!

There were 8 of us, friends for decades. It was a great space for us; however, the 3rd floor is best for kids, as the 5th and 6th bedrooms aren’t walked off from each other. Beach access directly across the street. A nice private home. My group said we would definitely stay here again.

We loved the location and the house. It was spacious and perfect for a large group. We loved the front porch and being just minutes from the beach. The description of the kitchen and the third floor annex were a little misleading. The kitchen was missing a couple basic items that would have been nice to have such as a large cookie sheet, pepper, and cooking oil. There are 3 single beds on one side of the 3rd floor and two queen beds on the other side. This wasn't a problem, but the description mentioned 2 bedrooms on the third floor and I would have classified the space as one bedroom since there were no doors dividing these two spaces. Neither of these factors impacted our stay, and we would come back in a heartbeat!

The biggest selling point here is the location itself. You are right across from the beach. This section of the beach is far enough away from the pier that you aren’t dealing with the large crowds. Could not have been happier taking the family here.

Glenn was a fantastic host and we had a great weekend at Fantasy Island in Folly Beach! The house has plenty of beds and rooms for a large group of people and it is located right across the road from public beach access. My friends and I had the best time and I highly recommend booking this listing for your Folly Beach vacation!

The kitchen was open to the living room which really worked for us and the kids really enjoyed the play kitchen on the back porch. The beach chairs and the sand toys were definitely used. While some things could have been better, overall, we were happy with our stay

We had a great time at Fantasy Island Folly! The location was perfect, in a cul de sac directly across the street from the beach! It was a 4-5 min walk and we basking in the sun and sand. There were more than enough rooms to accomodate our group. However, I do wish there was a little more fridge space for all of the food we had and a couple of my guests was hoping for a television in every room(their room did not have one). Overall, I recommend Fantasy Island Folly and would stay there again. Thank you Glenn for being a great host and for always responding so quickly. We really appreciate your hospitality.

We stayed here with a large family group and the place served our purposes very well. The house is just across the road from a beautiful beach which was not crowded at all. You get a lot of bang for your buck--this place was several thousand dollars less than other large houses and/or places with beach access like this. The house is not high end, it is a little worn (carpets were stained, couch has seen better days) but given the price and location that was ok with us. Also note that the house had only starter supplies of basics such as toilet paper, soap, detergent etc. Again, the amount you spend on these items pales in comparison to the good deal you get on the house. Also, the house does not come with beach towels or chairs. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and pots and pans, well set up for cooking. Glenn was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The house was exactly as advertised and I would definitely recommend.

The house was a good size for our family of 6 adults and 4 kids. The third floor sleeping area worked especially well for the kids. 2 girls on one side and 2 boys on the other. Plenty of room! Each family unit had their own bathroom (except the third floor), plus the lavatory off the kitchen. Most bathrooms had hand soap provided but no other toiletries for showering. The kitchen was well equipped. Could have used more than 2 kitchen towels. The dishwasher had some issues but Glenn was quick to respond. It may need some work as it still leaks. We made good use of both porches and the grill during our stay as well as the washer and dryer.Fortunately our daughter drove to the beach house and was able to bring beach chairs, towels, and sand toys. None are provided.It was a lovely, roomy house in which to stay. It was very conveniently located with easy access to the beach.

We love Folly Beach and make it an annual family trip in October. This was our first time in this particular property. The house is big and close to the beach. There were a few glitches - cleaners didn't show up until our check-in time so we had to wait. One of the main bedrooms had a broken bed which necessitated one family to move into a room with a double bed. Glen was responsive to these issues and a new bed was delivered later in the week. My older son was thrilled to have a car charging station at the house. Overall, it's a nice property, but it really needs some routine maintenance and sprucing up.

We stayed at fantasy island for a family vacation. Really enjoyed the front and back porches and convenient beach access. Host was prompt with communication and we had no issues during our stay. House was big enough for everyone to have their own space when needed and livingroom and back porch were able to accommodate everyone at once.

We had a great time for our golf trip staying on Folly Beach. The house is a 10-15 minute walk to the main Folly strip so you have activities nearby, but also have seclusion once you get back to the house. The house is set up well and welcoming for a wonderful beach getaway. Would stay here again if I ever find myself in Folly Beach, SC.

The property is a very short walk to the public beach access and there was plenty of room for our group of 10--not only in terms of driveway space, but also the many bedrooms, large living room, front and back porches, etc. We had lots of space to hang around, cook for the group, and toss a football around. The walk to the main street in Folly was probably about 15 minutes and very straightforward. Very quiet neighborhood and as the title of this review suggests VERY close to the beach!

Perfect place for our family to stay while in town for our Folly beach wedding! Very close walk to the beach and convienen to downtown Folly. Sleeps a lot of people, great for large groups. No frills beach house, but perfect for what we needed!

Beautiful house with the best location. Cross the street and you’re at the beach! House fit is perfectly and comfortably. The sun room was lovely to let the kids thrive and catch a breezy snooze in the afternoon. The porch allowed us to relax and feel the sea breeze. Had the best time!

We did have a bit of trouble finding Ubers to downtown Charleston, which we did not expect. But overall the house was comfortable and clean. Only complaint is there was no salt or pepper for cooking, which is not typically something I bring or buy on a trip. Overall, very pleased!

We had a large group of family and friends for my daughters wedding this weekend in Charleston. Easy and quick trip to the Port of Charleston, beach access across the street, close enough to the establisments downtown to walk but secluded enough your not bothered by noise, clean, kitchen stocked to prepare meals for 16+ people. Very accommodating for a large party.

We loved the location and the house. It was spacious and perfect for a large group. We loved the front porch and being just minutes from the beach. The description of the kitchen and the third floor annex were a little misleading. The kitchen was missing a couple basic items that would have been nice to have such as a large cookie sheet, pepper, and cooking oil. There are 3 single beds on one side of the 3rd floor and two queen beds on the other side. This wasn't a problem, but the description mentioned 2 bedrooms on the third floor and I would have classified the space as one bedroom since there were no doors dividing these two spaces. Neither of these factors impacted our stay, and we would come back in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed staying at this house and having our Thanksgiving meal here. They had really nice pots and glass jars for our use. there were a few key areas that could have been cleaner, such as mold on the water spout on the refridgerator. The top floor was advertised as two bedrooms but there was no privacy or seperation of the space. The kitchen was open to the living room which really worked for us and the kids really enjoyed the play kitchen on the back porch. The beach chairs and the sand toys were definitely used. Very kind and responsive host! Only thing I would note is that the floors downstairs were quite dirty. We discovered this after walking around barefoot/with socks only. Otherwise our stay was great and Glen was very helpful/responsive and great at mediating any issues promptly. Thanks!

Hi We loved the proximity of the house to the beach and to the nightlife! We were there for our Daughter's wedding and we had a lot of different clothes to bring. There was no iron provided in the house and the closet off of the main master suite was full of house-related items so there was hardly any room to hang your clothes. The sleigh bed mattress probably needs an upgrade. Other than that it was the perfect location and the perfect size for our family. We had an issue with the garbage disposal that was fixed within an hour after we contacted Glenn!You cannot beat the proximity to the beach!
