The Camron House is a great hotel complex. The location and facilities are stunning, and overall we had a good stay. We dined at the Boat House restaurant, which is just a short walk from the main hotel, and it was good. We used the pool, steam room, and sauna and those facilities are excellent. It's the type of place that you don't feel you need to leave! There were only a couple of small issues: 1. When got into our room we noticed that a couple of the glasses were dirty. They'd been used and put back on the shelf and were not checked by housekeeping. We called reception and they sorted it swiftly. 2. We were on the ground floor, and in the early hours of the morning, the people in the room above could be heard walking around and speaking. I thought the soundproofing was good based on previous stays, so not sure if this is a regular issue or we were just unlucky.

Great place, scenic lake views old castle with modern twists amazing pool and water slide for kids, excellent gym, wonderful staff at hotel. Lovely breakfast. Had decent plant based options. Concierge, front desk staff and restaurant waitstaff all excellent and respectful and genuine. High Tea with scones etc was a great experience

This is a wonderful resort...not only is it a beautiful part of Scotland...but the history of the property... the loch...(and their boat ride on it!)...and the golf course...and...of course their incredible staff...make this a truly remarkable place to stay. We will return!

We enjoyed using the facilities! The gym had excellent equipment, the pool area was relaxing and fun. The service was a bit slow sometimes especially in the upstairs bar. The cinema is a great idea but the popcorn wasn’t very edible. It was a very nice time of year to stay, there were reindeers and elves at the front.

Beautiful location Stunning hotel… decor, views, service! We throughly enjoyed our stay in Cameron House. Our room was luxurious with everything we needed for our a relaxing break. We enjoyed to use of the swimming pool and there were many beautiful walks in the grounds.

Overall a great stay at Cameron House. Unfortunately the pool was closed when we went down to use it. It would have been nice if it had been mentioned at checkin and an alternate offered (use of the spa)

Cameron House was a dream! The hotel itself was so beautiful inside and out. The hotel offered so many amenities- a huge gym, nice indoor Pool and hot-tub and a movie theater. There was also an amazing whisky bar on site with knowledgable staff. The tavern onsite was great for food and drink as well. The breakfast buffet was superb. All the staff were so kind and helpful. We 100% recommend this hotel. Its by far one of the best hotels weve stayed at overseas.

This is a very comfortable hotel in a lovely setting. As a 5* we were slightly surprised on arrival that noone came to help with our cases until wed started lugging them up the front steps ourselves. Looked like wed arrived in the middle of some Porsche corporate event with several cars parked right at the main entrance, which may have got the staff's attention. This 1st impression gave me a sinking feeling that this was going to be one very pretentious hotel - its a bit odd to get such a corporate vibe when youre arriving for a leisure break (although granted the hotel obviously has to balance how it generates income). Couldnt be further from the truth. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming, the hotel is spotless and very nicely decorated, and a nice range of rooms for having dinner, a drink or a good read. The food at Cameron Grill was terrific. Louise at the spa (2 miles away, oddly) gave me the most relaxing massage Ive ever had. Top notch breakfast. Bedrooms were really comfortable with lovely furnishings. Great Scots Bar is a very nice spot (more relaxed background music would suit the atmosphere better). Our 2 night stay was for a specific special-to-us reason, and we really enjoyed it here. Yes its expensive and not somewhere Id stay all the time, but as a special family treat it was fantastic. Every single member of staff we encountered chatted with us and looked after us. Cant fault it. Will definitely be back.

The property is excellent and is well looked after clean , well maintained both inside and out Staff were all very friendly. I did feel the onsite restaurants were catering more towards the wealthy set or golfers, but the italian restaurant by the marina was a happy medium. Bar staff in Scots bar were young and lacked supervision, but nonetheless did a good job. Overall I'd recommend staying here for a relaxing break.

This property is not what I expected—the old house part of the building is beautiful and the view from the hotel is beautiful too! But the property has added wings that are architectural mismatched and it gives a strange ambiance. There are conditional issues such as stained carpeting in hallways, but rooms are nice and comfortable. Service is a mixed bag—-valet and baggage guys were great…retail shop clerk was super nice….front desk was adequate but not friendly and didn’t try to make you feel like they were glad you were there. It was fine but nothing special. Boat excursion was very nice-highly recommend! Breakfast was nice. Dinner is main restaurant has outstanding food. Service was a mixed bag there too. Manager was great trying to help and super friendly. Staff wasn’t up to the standard of serving in a higher end restaurant. Overall, we liked the property.

Good points are the d enic location, the rooms, swimming pool and facilities. On a negative side, though the hotel has grwat staff, they are severely short staffed, meaning you have extended waits for checkin/checkout, drinks, meals etc. They also overcharge in many of the restaurants and have hidden charges. For example, if you want fries with a burger, they charge an extra 6 pounds on the already expensive 16 pounds. The Italian restaurant is the best value for money but it is crowded, cramped and noisy. Furthermore, we had to wait 1.5 hours for a table. The staff were working like slaves so it was inevitable that they forgot some of our order and we had to remind them several times. The hotelnis severely understaffed and it is a big problem.

While Cameron House is beautiful and iconic it left quite a bit to be desired from a luxury travel perspective. A few issues we encountered on our stay: Terrible pillows (actually opted to sleep without) Inadequate wine list in certain areas (each bar / restaurant carries different wines so if you find one you like you can’t necessarily get it anywhere). Poor room cleaning during stay (felt very rushed, surfaces still had crumbs etc from breakfast / dirty plates sat outside the room for over 14 hours). Toilet was in the shower, wet room style, which resulted in wet socks whenever using the facilities or the need to put on shoes or slippers (not sure if all rooms are laid out the same). Lengthy room service / housekeeping request time (up to 5 hrs to get new towels because we had to dry the floor). Good things: Beautiful property. Yummy food. Nice staff. Would go again if it was 1/3 of the price for reasons noted above.

Simply stunning location when you turn up at front it’s wow. Beautiful reception, lovely modern room, comfortable bed would loved to have stayed longer. Loma restaurant food was incredible and service as well highly recommend. If you want a treat!

We ate at the tavern which was full of bugs and had terrible service. We had to swat wasps away from our indoor table and there were gnats flying in our drinks. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy. For example, they brought a drink ordered when dinner was delivered after they cleared our dinner plates. We had to go up to the bar to fill our water glasses because the wait staff came by infrequently. We stayed in a suite, but there were no sheets available for the pull-out bed in the room. The front desk was slow to respond (>45 min) after 2 phone calls. After walking there in person, we were informed there is no housekeeping on site after 7 pm. A kind valet helped us put sheets on the bed for our child. Finally, the bathroom is poorly designed. There is a rain shower head with no shower door, very close to the toilet with poor drainage which means your feet will be in a puddle when you sit on the toilet. The views of Loch Lomond are excellent and the mansion house is stately. The highlight of the stay was our falconry session with Graham.

The bed was terrible. The rest of the property was amazing and for the most part, the staff was extremely helpful. We had a small issue with getting our additional bathroom stuff other than that a fantastic place to vacation.

While Cameron House is beautiful and iconic it left quite a bit to be desired from a luxury travel perspective. A few issues we encountered on our stay: Terrible pillows (actually opted to sleep without) Inadequate wine list in certain areas (each bar / restaurant carries different wines so if you find one you like you can’t necessarily get it anywhere). Poor room cleaning during stay (felt very rushed, surfaces still had crumbs etc from breakfast / dirty plates sat outside the room for over 14 hours). Toilet was in the shower, wet room style, which resulted in wet socks whenever using the facilities or the need to put on shoes or slippers (not sure if all rooms are laid out the same). Lengthy room service / housekeeping request time (up to 5 hrs to get new towels because we had to dry the floor). Good things: Beautiful property. Yummy food. Nice staff. Would go again if it was 1/3 of the price for reasons noted above.

I am sorry I booked here. Corporate throughput; promise but don’t deliver; upsell. I would rather have stayed at a Holiday Inn. This didn’t hold a candle to the charming small inns with personal service that we spent our other three weeks of holiday visiting. The picture on the website doesn’t show the other hundred or more rooms. It doesn’t mention that the spa is three miles down the road. Nor does it say that the Grill seats a couple hundred people and is all about turning tables to maximize covers. The food wasn’t even prepared well. How they let it out of the kitchen I will never understand. My spouse’s sauce was actually charred. It had black bubbles and char on it - and it wasn’t supposed to be a blackened dish. My carrots were coal black and cooked beyond mushy. Dreadfully done. I actually wanted to see the manager but my spouse asked me not to make a scene. I wish I had. It was a very dissatisfying experience. Our thermostat didn’t work. We asked the bellman who simply shrugged his shoulders. We asked for an extra blanket but none arrived. We called a second time and were told there weren't any. The motorized blinds didn’t close. No response to that complaint either. Thankfully our stay was only one night. If our reservation had been for more than one night I would have tried to leave and go elsewhere. It wasn’t the most expensive property we booked (three or four were a good deal more) but it was CLEARLY the worst. Frankly dumfounding.

Stunningly beautiful resort like accommodations! The rooms are extremely comfortable, warmly decorated and generous size. They have so much to offer for couples or families to do. The food was amazing and they have very friendly and warming staff! We will be back!

This is a good hotel, but certainly not cheap. Situated on Loch Lomond, makes it ideal for the views alone. This is a large hotel, and while the staff were polite and helpful, it felt a little rushed and frantic at times and the intimacy a 5* hotel should provide was a little lost. It feels like a US interpretation of how a 5* hotel should be and those don’t necessarily resonate with a British tourist. I won’t lie, I was expecting a lot from this hotel, and I left feeling a little disappointed.

Had an absolutely beautiful 4 days stay here over the bank holiday made even more special by the friendliness and standard of service provided by the staff and in particular by the doormen/valets. Good points are the d enic location, the rooms, swimming pool and facilities. On a negative side, though the hotel has grwat staff, they are severely short staffed, meaning you have extended waits for checkin/checkout, drinks, meals etc. They also overcharge in many of the restaurants and have hidden charges. For example, if you want fries with a burger, they charge an extra 6 pounds on the already expensive 16 pounds. The Italian restaurant is the best value for money but it is crowded, cramped and noisy. Furthermore, we had to wait 1.5 hours for a table. The staff were working like slaves so it was inevitable that they forgot some of our order and we had to remind them several times. The hotelnis severely understaffed and it is a big problem.

The front door and desk staff were exceptional. Our service for tea was also wonderful. But our experience in the restaurants was poor. In one restaurant we sat fown and though we were 2 of only 8 people there with 5 staff, no one acknowledged us or attended to us. We waited for 15 minutes and left, walking right passed staff who didnt even seem to see us. We went back for drinks the next night and no one came to serve us. We went up to staff to ask for drinks and then they never came. The Tavern also had poor service, forgetting to bring us drinks. The food was mediocre. Our room keys were deactivated twice because of the hotels computer system and no one apologized. We waited over an hour in the Boathouse for our food and were told the server forgot to put our order in. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the front desk staff were overall very nice. The pool is also nice. We were a bit disappointed with the restaurant service given this is a 5 star hotel. I expected better service. This was 3-4 star service at best

Rooms are excellent and very luxurious. Reception staff cant do enough for you and are very friendly. We had dinner in the Cameron Grill and the food was excellent although the service was very slow and we did have to ask 3 times for something before it arrived. Breakfast is superb. Overall, a great hotel and we cant wait to visit again.

Had the most excellent service friendly and professional staff. Rooms facilities excellent Meet and greet team beyond compare. Staff always asked you how you were as you walked around the hotel.

This is a wonderful resort...not only is it a beautiful part of Scotland...but the history of the property... the loch...(and their boat ride on it!)...and the golf course...and...of course their incredible staff...make this a truly remarkable place to stay. We will return!

Superb luxury hotel .. right on the Loch yet 20 miles or so from Glasgow . Very top end spot yet totally unpretentious . Lots of restaurants and bars , great well appointed room and a common theme of professional staff in all areas of the hotel . Our room was very nice, well appointed with good storage and en-suite and we had a nice Loch view . We can recommend the Cameron grill too , that’s a great steak restaurant.. and sitting with a cocktail in the lobby or Great Scot’s bar looking out on the Loch definitely is a highlight of this place .. Highly recommended

Beautiful and well managed special place overlooking Loch Lamond. We had very nice spacious rooms overlooking the Loch. We waited too late to make a dinner reservation so we went next door to Duck Bay Marina for dinner which was also excellent. I highly recommend the Cameron house.

We ate at the tavern which was full of bugs and had terrible service. We had to swat wasps away from our indoor table and there were gnats flying in our drinks. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy. For example, they brought a drink ordered when dinner was delivered after they cleared our dinner plates. We had to go up to the bar to fill our water glasses because the wait staff came by infrequently. We stayed in a suite, but there were no sheets available for the pull-out bed in the room. The front desk was slow to respond (>45 min) after 2 phone calls. After walking there in person, we were informed there is no housekeeping on site after 7 pm. A kind valet helped us put sheets on the bed for our child. Finally, the bathroom is poorly designed. There is a rain shower head with no shower door, very close to the toilet with poor drainage which means your feet will be in a puddle when you sit on the toilet. The views of Loch Lomond are excellent and the mansion house is stately. The highlight of the stay was our falconry session with Graham.

We came here a few years back only days after they reopened due to the fire. Then it was chaotic in the restaurants service struggled and it was an expensive mare of a weekend. This weekend we returned. The boathouse restaurant changed to La Vista. Superbly decorated and the food superb. Service on point. No noise reverberation and such a superb evening thank you to all the staff there that made it so good. 10/10 score. The Cameron grill at breakfast is a joy. Pleasant staff, buffet style and top quality food. Evening thanks to Caitlin serving us was fabulous. Thanks goes to the staff especially Caitlin for such a great evening, polar opposite to the experience two years ago Afternoon tea in the lounge is stomach stuffing. More-ish cakes and sandwiches and excellent tea. The stay was just what our money deserved. Thank you to the staff who have sorted out the calamity from earlier years. Stay here whilst expensive it’s worthy.

Great hotel but the layout of the property is very confusing. Could really have benefited from an internal map of where everything was. Very strange layout. Food was lovely in The Grill, Tavern and The Vista. All the staff in the restaurants were fine although we ordered drinks and they were totally forgotten. The bar staff were a little slow. We had an issue with no hot water in our room from 5.30pm until the next morning. Would recommend with some small tweaks to enhance the experience

I am sorry I booked here. Corporate throughput; promise but don’t deliver; upsell. I would rather have stayed at a Holiday Inn. This didn’t hold a candle to the charming small inns with personal service that we spent our other three weeks of holiday visiting. The picture on the website doesn’t show the other hundred or more rooms. It doesn’t mention that the spa is three miles down the road. Nor does it say that the Grill seats a couple hundred people and is all about turning tables to maximize covers. The food wasn’t even prepared well. How they let it out of the kitchen I will never understand. My spouse’s sauce was actually charred. It had black bubbles and char on it - and it wasn’t supposed to be a blackened dish. My carrots were coal black and cooked beyond mushy. Dreadfully done. I actually wanted to see the manager but my spouse asked me not to make a scene. I wish I had. It was a very dissatisfying experience. Our thermostat didn’t work. We asked the bellman who simply shrugged his shoulders. We asked for an extra blanket but none arrived. We called a second time and were told there weren't any. The motorized blinds didn’t close. No response to that complaint either. Thankfully our stay was only one night. If our reservation had been for more than one night I would have tried to leave and go elsewhere. It wasn’t the most expensive property we booked (three or four were a good deal more) but it was CLEARLY the worst. Frankly dumfounding.

Rooms are excellent and very luxurious. Reception staff cant do enough for you and are very friendly. We had dinner in the Cameron Grill and the food was excellent although the service was very slow and we did have to ask 3 times for something before it arrived. Breakfast is superb. Overall, a great hotel and we cant wait to visit again.

Stayed at the stunning Cameron House on Loch Lomond for a Birthday weekend, but quite disappointed given the price you pay. Very inadequate dinning facilities which don't seat very many people. We couldn't get in for any dinners during our stay as all fully booked. Not great when you go to a remote hotel and not many eating options. Also related to this not a lot of seating at breakfast and waited a while for a free table to come up each morning. Nice bar but wine list very disappointing. In fact for someone who likes wine don't go here. The main bar has a red wine list of 2 neither any good.

Wir waren vor ein paar Jahren bereits zweimal hier und waren begeistert. Darum wollten wir wieder kommen und haben den sehr hohen Zimmerpreis in der Hochsaison bezahlt. Jetzt waren wir jedoch extrem enttäuscht. Es wurde ein Neubau angebaut. Viele Leute (ca. 200 Zimmer). Viele Kinder und Familien, die auf der Wiese spielten und sich tummelten. Ungepflegtes Familien-Restaurant auf Terrasse mit Selbstbestellung, usw.. Auch das Restaurant am See. Wie Massenhotels in den US. Es hat den alten exklusiven Charakter stark verloren. Es geht um Masse. Sehr schön sind die Zimmer und die Whiskey-Bar ist immer noch fantastisch. Das Personal ist sehr nett und kompetent. Sehr schade und absolut nicht mehr wert. Wir kommen nicht mehr und suchen andere exklusive Resorts.

Stayed here with friends doing a sportscar road tour around Scotland last week. From the valet parking when we arrived the service was impeccable. We had a lovely room in the original main house which was really spacious and included a free minibar. The beds were so comfy. We ate in the Cameron Grill, which was a touch pricey but the food was delicious and again the service was superb. Finished off in Scott’s bar for a nightcap, nicely designed and a cool atmosphere. Had a quick dip in the swimming pool with steam & sauna rooms before a delicious breakfast and heading off on our tour. Will definitely return again.

Not the standard I expect from a 5 star hotel with a matching price. WiFi should be a basic service and not having this working and staff on reception who rarely answer the phone / don’t try to help when they do answer is unacceptable. The good: - Wonderful porters helping with bags and cars upon arrival. Fabulous - Location is beautiful The very bad: - Reception staff / calling ‘0’ is almost pointless. People answer the phone about 1 in 10 times and when they do they are not helpful. - No wifi in room (room 192). Called reception when we first realised (approx 5pm) and it was after 10pm when someone eventually came to try to help (I was in bed!) This staff member admitted he wasn’t very techy/had no idea how to help. Said we could change rooms but we were in bed! Between 5pm-10pm on the rare times someone answered the phone we were told someone would come to look or call us back (neither happened) or we were told the wifi did work, when we were sitting in the room with it clearly not working. - Check-in staff: arrived about 2:30pm and check-in is 4pm. Staff offered to call when our room was ready so we went for a walk. No-one bothered to call - Tavern staff: very slow service, have to chase everything. Tables next to us getting frustrated too and it wasn’t even busy - Bar staff: Took so long for the 4 staff that we could see to bring us 2 simple drinks despite being the only people sat in the bar - Food in The Tavern is average and expensive for the quality
