Staff helpful and friendly, disappointing that the sauna and steam room were out of action. For some time too judging by the sauna having been ripped out. Shame as this was a key point for booking the hotel for our stay

Stayed the night before travelling to Birmingham airport. Was clean and quiet, and handy to get a Starbucks downstairs for breakfast.

The hotel is just off the motorway so very convenient for business travel and there were a lot of people having business meetings the bar and dining area. The fitness area was good, lots of equipment but busy. It appeared to be full of local people rather than hotel guests. Food was ok but expensive, the only place to eat with walking distance seemed to be a KFC.

The hotel had comfy beds and a decent breakfast. The staff were very helpful. The one down side was the rave music that was blasting out from what I assume was the gym downstairs at about 9am.

Typical village hotel. Room good but very warm (on check out I commented on this and was told I could have asked for a fan). Gym excellent but very busy with local people. Staff were really helpful and friendly

I stayed at this hotel for five nighs. The staff were very friendly & helpful & my room was clean & adequate. However, I was not happy about having to pay £5 per day to park in the hotel car park when I was a paying guest at the hotel. Further, I had to upgrade my room to be able to use the hotel gym & pool, which in my view if you are a paying guest at a hotel, you shouldn’t have to pay to park in a hotel car park or use a gym & pool.
I stayed at this hotel for five nighs. The staff were very friendly & helpful & my room was clean & adequate. Bathroom is outdated, and really not clean enough. The toilet was disgusting. Is it ever been cleaned or the guest has to? That is put me off to return. Tiles on the floor loose and missing the grout as well

I’m really disappointed as I usually have a lovely stay at Village hotels but I arrived just before my night shift and went to put my stuff in the room and change but it was clear that the previous person had been sick as the room absolutely stunk of vomit, the room was meant to be cleaned but when I went back at 6am from my shift the room still smelt horrendous and therefore I ended up checking out without sleeping which isn’t really safe after being awake for a whole night shift. I spoke to the hotel and was offered a free breakfast but I just wanted to get home to my own bed which was 2.5hrs away!!!

We didn’t realise it was going to be so loud, clearly a party destination. Probably would have got a better nights sleep at Holiday Inn across the road. Very loud, struggled to sleep, pillows were awful, very flimsy & felt cheap. Not enough storage, no sockets at bedside table. Mould around bathroom tiles, especially on the floor. Lots of cracks, marks in the bathroom & bedroom. Room window covered in mould and dust. Even the ‘what’s on’ leaflet was sticky, food stuck to it. Grubby hotel rooms Staff were all lovely however, just run down establishment. Breakfast options very limited, watery scrambled egg, undercooked bacon, sausages were small but nice. Potato bits were dry and pretty grim. If you’re a vegetarian you have the option of cereal, croissants, pain au chocolat, toast. Wasn’t a lot of choice like. Felt like hunger games haha! Didn’t bother getting food at the hotel either evening as was expensive and didn’t fancy being disappointed.

Staff were great, cleanliness of hotel was below average. Rooms cleaned ok corridors and lift areas hadn’t seen a hoover for some time. There was a piece of chocolate on the floor by the lift for 3 days. Cleaners walking past it and ignoring. More attention to detail of non room areas

Poor check in service, wrong room allocated from request, had to wait 2 hours for a room to become available. Lack of communication. Room tired and in need of some decoration. Despite room being made for us & just being serviced by housekeeping, the room was not particularly clearly, the TV remote absolutely filthy. Every attempt to use services of the hotel such as pool, bar, restaurant were met with inept service and staff, at time it resembled an episode from fawlty towers. Would I stay again, unfortunately not, despite all the hotel has to offer, this was let down by the staff for me. I’d like to say it was just a bad day, but witnessed other patrons also have similar experiences to myself. Staff training particularly in the services they offer & customer service would not go a miss. I travel regularly & staff in a multitude of hotels, this in my opinion has been one of the most challenging stays in a long time.

This is our second visit to this hotel, las being a year ago. Facilities are still great, but the cleanliness has dropped a bit. Room was as expected, but there was a thick layer of dust along the top of the boards through the hallways. We had an issue with breakfast- repurchased in advance using a special code, but a staff member tried to charge for the balance. Manager was able to sort out and gave us free mains and a bottle of wine at dinner as compensation. Still don’t like the smoking literally outside the main door, but overall well situated for the M6 and great facilities.

Nice room, good gym and pool. Comfortable bed, hot shower everything nice. What is not nice is drunk people laughing and screaming outside the entrance when you try to sleep. They need to be moved on / culled by the hotel. Or fit triple glaze windows. Food in the bar is average and way overpriced. There’s a walkable pub called the Parkbrook and food is fantastic and well priced.

We stayed in a club room, the room needs a bit of attention, especially the bathroom, the shower was awful. small things that we noticed, but would make a difference for us, there were only 2 towels and one hand towel, no glasses for a drink and only two very small cups for tea, all attention seems to be on a funky designed room rather than practical and comfort, the fact there wasn’t any a/c the room was very uncomfortable after showering, the windows didn’t open enough to let any air in, we definitely would not like to stay here in summer. And probably wouldn’t stay in a village hotel again as it’s not our style

Good facilities on site including gym and pool. Room good we may have got unlucky with noisy neighbours as not sure if walls are really thin or they were really loud shame as that’s the only thing that affected my stay/ sleep

Generally good and i have stayed before and probably will again however this stay did provide a few issues and a niggle shower - tray kept filling up and i had to turn off and on for it to drain as water went all over the floor (rainfall shower and nice but not great the drain is slow / blocked) Internet - wasn't great - i stayed before and no issues so maybe a blip Charge points - by the bed no charge points and only plug is round pin socket so all phones / watches are charged on table on other side of the room. maybe a socket or a USB please (Room 237) standard double. The Gym - attracts a lot of non residents and there was a large group on the balcony at front of the hotel and whilst I am a loud bloke from Essex I felt uncomfortable in the bar area. The language was awful and on the terrace the behaviour and peacocking (I could use other words) was unacceptable and groups of 20+ men power drinking was not what I needed after a 12 hour day.

The room was clean and tidy but the plug sockets by the bed were unusable as they had the round pins so any normal plug could not be used. The only place to charge any devices was on the opposite side of the room. Then the shower in the morning has a constantly fluctuating temperature which the staff member on reception said was to do with the number of people using the showers. Funny how this is the case in most hotels but they don’t have problems… Also the self check in process is clunky and I was double charged for my parking. They also can not provide a VAT receipt if you book through a third party site.

Booked on Hotels.com said rooms were available. Paid in Advance. Arrived to be told they are fully booked and deliberately over book rooms by 10%. This was at 23:30 at night..... I had not heads up from the hotel that they were fully booked

Disgusting treatment! This hotel overbooks their rooms. Having driven two hours, we arrived at the hotel to check in and were told that no rooms were available despite having booking confirmations from hotels.com. Staff told me this happens every weekend. Had to drive 20minutes to get to a different hotel where I had to pay on arrival.

Disaster from start to finish. Informed the hotel in advance at the time of booking that we would be arriving quite late. We also attempted to call on 3 occasions to advise that we would be arriving late, however no staff bothered to answer the phone. Turned up after a 2 hour drive, only to be told that they had no rooms available and that their management policy is to overbook by 5 rooms, therefore, guests who arrive on the later side are likely to not be allocated a room. Eventually, a room was located for us, however upon attempting to gain entry, it soon became clear that there were already other hotel guests in this room! Another room was eventually found, however it was a cheaper room than what we had booked and because we booked via Expedia, we were informed that we would need to contact Expedia to resolve. We are still waiting for a refund, which Expedia have advised that the hotel are unwilling to give, despite two members of staff advising whilst we were there that we were entitled to this. The staff working there are extremely unhappy and regularly have to deal with unhappy customers due to the ridiculous management policies. I will never stay at a Village hotel ever again. AVOID!!!

I've stayed here before and it's always been decent. After a very long drive, the guy at reception (with the blacked out sleeve tattoo) made for a fantastic stay. Lovely chat when I arrived, and sorted me out with a pint immediately. Cannot fault his customer service.

Poor check in service, wrong room allocated from request, had to wait 2 hours for a room to become available. Lack of communication. Room tired and in need of some decoration. Nice room, good gym and pool. Comfortable bed, hot shower everything nice. What is not nice is drunk people laughing and screaming outside the entrance when you try to sleep. They need to be moved on / culled by the hotel. Or fit triple glaze windows. Food in the bar is average and way overpriced. There’s a walkable pub called the Parkbrook and food is fantastic and well priced.

The hotel is just off the motorway so very convenient for business travel and there were a lot of people having business meetings the bar and dining area. The fitness area was good, lots of equipment but busy. It appeared to be full of local people rather than hotel guests. Food was ok but expensive, the only place to eat with walking distance seemed to be a KFC.

We didn’t realise it was going to be so loud, clearly a party destination. Probably would have got a better nights sleep at Holiday Inn across the road. Very loud, struggled to sleep, pillows were awful, very flimsy & felt cheap. Not enough storage, no sockets at bedside table. Mould around bathroom tiles, especially on the floor. Lots of cracks, marks in the bathroom & bedroom. Room window covered in mould and dust. Even the ‘what’s on’ leaflet was sticky, food stuck to it. Grubby hotel rooms Staff were all lovely however, just run down establishment. Breakfast options very limited, watery scrambled egg, undercooked bacon, sausages were small but nice. Potato bits were dry and pretty grim. If you’re a vegetarian you have the option of cereal, croissants, pain au chocolat, toast. Wasn’t a lot of choice like. Felt like hunger games haha! Didn’t bother getting food at the hotel either evening as was expensive and didn’t fancy being disappointed.

Horrendous location, not what it looks like in the photos. Staff try to be very helpful but with a poor product, what chance do they have? Food awful, ambience football and sport based, which is, great if you like booming football whilst you eat your meal and, unable to heat yourself think! Bedroom ok, bed very comfortable. Swimming pool lovely. Will I return, never!

Check in was quick and efficient. Room was nice, modern and compact. Big TV, good shower. Bed very comfortable. Gym and spa facilities were very good. Bar was noisy as expected and my particular service was poor. I waited half an hour for food before being told my order hadn't gone through to the kitchen. Although I got an apology ("sorry mate, systems glitched, want a free drink?") I was a bit peeved when I was asked if I still wanted the food and still had to pay the full price, didn't even chuck in a dessert or anything. That being said food was pretty good, but overpriced. Inconsiderate people slamming their doors at 5am woke me up, but that is not a reflection on the hotel.

Nothing wrong with the hotel itself, clean and tidy enough, room ok. Service a complete mixed bag - met at the 'modern' self check type service that is not an enjoyable experience. The lady grunting and pointing her figure, obviously completely bored with her lot, is really in need of some customer service training. The exact opposite at check out, lovely lady, friendly charming and helpful. Restaurant/grill - poor and expensive - go out to somewhere else, even KFC is an upgrade an 2mins walk across the car park. Unlikely to return

Great stay at The Village, in the area visiting relatives and the hotel was perfect. Traveled from U.S and we were very tired after a long trip. Check in was super easy and friendly, shout out to Kieran who made it quick and simple. Breakfast was good, staff helpful and bed comfortable. Will be back when in the area again

My room was not ready when I arrived which was late evening so I had to go to reception to get another room. There were no plug sockets close to the bed and it looked like they had been there but blank plates replaced (probably to reduce power usage by customers. The bar and restaurant were dirty plates still on many tables, I had to clean my table myself. The food was not great and the breakfast was limited no pastries etc.

Great for Gym swim as always. Rooms well maintained. Good breakfast. Easy parking. Evening restaurant has been dirty on all my visits over the past few weeks - tables full of old plates and debris, not being cleared away for hours - very poor. Otherwise an easy stay.

Had nothing but screaming kids and people revving cars screaming tyres during the evening. Anyone would have thought it was a car cruise. If I wanted to have that I’d have book silverstone. Staff stood by and allowed this even though they were standing at the front of the hotel.
