Spark by Hilton Kansas City Plaza Streetcar

The staff was nice and the area the hotel was in was solid. But the room felt dirty, the TV didn’t work and the bathroom had a soaked towel that was clearly from the previous guest and hadn’t been changed. The “exercise room” barely had any dumbbells or exercise equipment in what seemed like used to be a closet. The staff is clearly doing the best they can in poor conditions. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The elevator was out had to use stairs with dogs

The place was amazing. Staff was super helpful. Good location if you want to visit the plaza. Only downside was the construction due to the new transits stops. Not the hotels fault but it did affect water pressure and parking.

Lots of riff raff, awful parking, but the rooms were decent. I feel like $165 was insanely high for the lack of parking and quality of the hotel. Also, the manager chose to text rather than book me in, while we had a game to get to. Parking was a nightmare

Great location. Older building with character. We had to ask for a room change due to an issue with the smoke alarm and were quickly accommodated. Friendly staff. Elevator was not working so we had to walk up:down

The night receptionist was absolutely beyond rude and could not be bothered. No elevator access at all. Completely handicapped inaccessible from the sketchy back parking lot to inside, as well as all of inside. When asking about the out of order elevator, I was told that the online purchase should have said that there was no elevator access…which did not whatsoever. Would never stay here again.

Very old property - nothing is working there. The elevator was broken and we had to drag our luggage to the 3 floor using stairs!!! The toilets barely flushed! The AC barely blew any air and was as noisy as hell. They are due for a full renovation- but they should shut down right now. They can’t even stretch a few months out of it. I’d never book this place if I knew how poor the condition it was!

The staff was amazingly sweet. I can’t say that enough. However, due to the construction going on for the KC metro, it affected the experience like the water pressure in the showers, the A.C. units in the hallways. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault. But I wish there’d been some kind of notice before booking. It wasn’t very ADA compliant. My friend, who came with me, has a disability. If there was a feature to filter out ADA accommodations to make her stay a bit easier, I didn’t see it. I loved the architecture, the location is perfectly close to everything without it being smack dab in the center of all that traffic, the staff is very friendly and lovely to talk to. I would definitely want to stay there again for a future trip. Just maybe not during construction.

Parking is limited in front and back for larger vehicles to get in and out when lot is full. Elevator certificate says it was last inspected in 2019.

The room I had. Tub wasn’t clean went to cvs that morning to clean the tub let the front desk know and she told me that they wasn’t able to get to it. I wouldn’t book again.

The bathroom was incredibly dirty. The tub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Toilet did not flush. There were stains on the bed and pillows. There was leftover food in the fridge. Bed was uncomfortable. The only positive was the TV working.

There were renovations going on apparently they were painting the building so we had to park in the back parking lot, which was not handicap accessible. Our room was disgusting. There were what looked like blood stains all over the side of the mattress, and I broke out in hives.

The shower head was broken, bathroom was filthy. Urin dripping down the toilet seat upon arrival. Bed side lamp and headboard have drips that I can only assume are semen. The neighborhood is not safe and I travel often. Either Wyndham is now trashy or they should not of put their name on this place.

We had a stain on the bed. Shower leaked to floor. And room was not cleaned for our second day.

Since The hotel and Orbitz really refused to do anything about this, I’m going to urge you on here PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We were concerned about the cleanliness immediately but understood they were going to do a renovation. In the middle of the night I was woken up by something crawling on me. I turned on the light to discover BEDBUGS in the sheets. BEDBUGS!!!! We were horrified and packed up as soon as we could and booked another hotel. The hotel refused to do anything about it, even after sending them pictures of the bugs in our bed, nor did they respond or refund any of our stay, including the days after we checked out and Orbitz only gave us a $70 voucher after spending thousands on a vacation package. I urge you DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! BEDBUGS!!!!! And do not book through Orbitz.

Room had mold on the lamp at the desk. Very old hotel that is in badly need of a update and deep clean! My wife wanted to change hotels after she saw the condition the eoom was in after we checked in but nothing nice was available in the area. Would not stay again unless the update this place. Staff was friendly but that the only positive thing i can say!

The property was rated 4 stars on Expedia. It was the worst room I’ve slept in. The toilet flushed once every three tries and was in disgusting condition. The bathroom was dirty mostly due to it being so outdated. Dirty walls and tile. When I told the desk the toilet didn’t flush she said they were sorry by they plan to renovate so are not replacing anything. Maybe they could send a plumber the next day. I told her it was dirty—brown inside and disgusting. She said it was the paint wearing off. I paid $186–which is a lot less than many properties in this area—but in its current condition they should not be renting rooms such as the one we stayed in. They “hadn’t done laundry” when I asked for towels our second night. I made her find me two because we were leaving early the next morning (she wanted me to wait until morning to get towels—this would have been our third day). They would not give us a discount when we asked. When I tried to get help from Expedia they initially cancelled the rest of my reservation without a refund. I spent an hour on the phone taking care of that. We had to stay the full three days because it was graduation weekend and would not have been able to get another room.

Steve was nice, but the hotel was in a general state of disrepair. The cockroaches in my room and management offered to no compensation.

We stayed here before the KC marathon because it was close enough to walk to the marathon finish. Our room smelled like cigarettes and was very musty - so bad that our three year-old kept asking over and over what smelled so bad. The breakfast was a handful of bagels and nothing else. The comforter on the bed was as thin as a sheet. We are pretty low maintenance travelers, but I would not stay here again. The staff was very nice and helpful.

My room was spacious and clean looking. I was pleased overall. The TV worked fine. A desk clock worked good after I plugged it in. I was disappointed there were no USB sockets for charging devices, as these are becoming pretty common in hotel rooms. When I inquired about shower soap via text, the hotel responded promptly, and they were very gracious, asking me to let them know if there was anything else at all that I needed. They were always pleasant and polite, which is refreshing. The hotel is older, so the rooms might show that, esp the bathrooms - but this is more than made up for in the price and the graciousness of the staff. A pleasant stay in midtown KC!

This property was fine but not great. The rooms are dated but clean. The staff was awesome and very nice. The walls are very thin and our room was by the ice maker and soda machine which was very loud. Our toilet kept running after we flushed it which was annoying. Parking there was easy at least. We never tried the bagel breakfast

Rooms looked nothing like what is pictured online. AC barley kept the room at a decent tempture. Was put in a room right outside the ice machine, all we heard all night was it dropping ice. Staff was great at check in.

The staff were good. The rooms need updating, but you are planning that. The staff were helpful. The location for our needs was perfect.

No hot water for showers. Breakfast bar was bleak. Had to repeatedly flush toilet to get the contents to completely flush. Definitely dated

The Seville Plaza Hotel is in desperate need of repairs and updates. We had issues with the toilet flushing and when we called the front desk, were offered a downgraded room. All the fixtures in the room are old and worn, there was a lack of caulking in the shower/tub combo and it looked like it was moldy, the carpet had stains. They are planning to complete a renovation soon, but we will not be staying this hotel again.

Staff at hotel was great. Made checkin and out easy and friendly. Room was clean and neat however the beds were lumpy, could not get shower to work, water was not hot for bath. Didnt have the "hotel disenfectant" smell which was great. All in all will not stay here again

Old outdate only 1 breakfast choice, no microwave in room.

Jacuzzi wasn't cleaned and shower was broken, only dispensed hot water.

The walls were very thin and could hear everything in the next room. The elevator was broken and our room was on the 4 th floor. The hotel room was not clean. The hotel reeked of smoke.

The Gentleman that checked us in (he was there most nights as well) was so kind and friendly. He truly made my entire experience. He made sure to acknowledge us every time he saw us and always checked to see if we or our puppy needed anything. He is truly a Gem!

Was a little scary, front desk gave another person a key to our room. This person tried getting in the room while we were in there, but we had the extra door bolt locked. I am sure it was an honest mistake, but still scary.

Whoever the front desk person was when we checked in was the most rude, insulting person I have ever dealt with at any hotel. Her behavior was unacceptable. Other than that, the hotel was decent and other employees were friendly.

The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help with anything I needed!

I would not recommend this hotel. The elevator did not work the hallway smell like sewer. The staff was impatient and unprofessional. I think I should receive compensation for having to stay here please if anyone reads this review do not I repeat do not stay at the Sevey Plaza hotel in Kansas City, Missouri.

I was quite disappointed with my experience, which failed to meet the basic standards one expects from a reputable hotel. Firstly, the front desk staff seemed poorly trained in customer service. During my stay, there was a noticeable lack of communication regarding hotel amenities, specifically housekeeping. I was not informed at check-in that I needed to request this service explicitly. When I did request housekeeping on my third night, my request was completely overlooked, leaving me in an unattended room for the duration of my stay. Additionally, the breakfast was underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. The offerings were extremely basic, consisting only of sliced bread, yogurt cups, juice, and coffee. This limited selection did not provide the variety or the quality one would hope for to start the day. The condition of the rooms was also disappointing. Both the bathrooms and the room furniture were noticeably worn and seemed poorly maintained, which significantly detracted from the comfort and aesthetic appeal of the stay. Overall, my experience at the Seville Plaza Hotel was far from satisfactory. The lack of proper service, poor breakfast quality, and the worn state of the rooms made it clear that much improvement is needed. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that significant changes are made to enhance the guest experience in the future.

I was greeted by Jordan, who was very friendly and professional. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is due for a renovation, however, I find old hotels have a unique charm and beauty all their own. I did have to ask for soap for the bathroom, other than that my needs were met. The foyer is beautiful and comfortable, great to relax and just spend time in. 24 hour coffee, wonderful.

A little dated, but great value for the money. Attentive staff, basicbagel breakfast included. A pleasant ten-minute walkto the Nelson-Atkins Museum. In 2915 will be served by the Main Street streetcar

Hotel is convenient distance from great restaurants and most local attractions. Gas station is right beside hotel, friendly staff and affordable rates.

Great location if you are planning anything around the Plaza area of KC. Lots of attractions, shops, and restaurants within walking distance. Be aware that there is a multi year project to extend the light rail to UMKC. The roads are torn up, some sidewalks are inaccessible in the area right around this property, likely through 2024/25. This impacts the plumbing including some sulfur odors in the hotel, and I suspect all buildings along the course of the work. The hotel is appropriate for what you pay for. It's a bit dated, but everything works fine for the most part. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of parking. The staff are all super friendly, which is a big plus. And again, for the area it's hard to beat the price.

The hotel was great but what wasn’t great was my window being busted out and waking up to that and not even getting a call from manager. No sorry nothing!! Several cars got broke into.

Road work around the hotel was very inconvenient. Arrived around midnight and door was locked. Took time to open.

Good location close to lots of restaurants in Westport area!

Older hotel, but our room was clean with a nice comfortable bed and nice towels. I believe they're planning to renovate the hotel at some point, but it is a good place to sleep and relax. Don't expect a full breakfast bar, but they did have bagels, toast, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc. which was satisfactory for us. Literally a 5 minute walk to the plaza and we were able to walk to Westport also. No complaints about the stay here - clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a swanky, modern hotel, don't pick this one, but if you're looking for an affordable place that is a great location from the plaza and Westport and is comfortable and clean, this is a great choice!

Someone broke into our truck, broke a window and stole some stuff. This happened at the hotels property and they did nothing to help us

They have notices via social media and throughout the facility renovations are coming, however service is still required. You could see the dust in the rooms, dirt along the baseboards/carpet. They offer bagels, toast, coffee, juice complimentary but they did not replenish the food. Two of the three mornings they ran out of coffee having to wait 10/15 minutes for coffee ONLY after we asked to make more coffee. The toasters took forever to toast the bagels and the lever to push the toast/bagel down was broke. The area was not maintained. The lobby has a tv, we asked to turn the tv on to watch the football game as our group had 6 people, the girl at front desk did not even know there was a tv and then said did not know how to work it. Maybe she was new but made no offer to help. Customer service, maintaining areas makes a HUGE difference. There was one girl at the front desk (pm shift) on two of three nights we were there, she was AMAZING. She provided excellent service, engaged in conversations, offered assistance. She was the ONLY reason we stayed. I wish I would have asked for her name because she was GREAT.

Convenient location. Wish there was something besides carbs for the breakfast.

Hotel needs a complete renovation of facility and staff

Good location in that it was in walking distance of several tourist activities. When I got in the room, the toilet didn't flush. Discovered the water valve was turned off. Turned on the valve and the toilet worked, but slowly the entire stay. The sink and tub had a slow drain, so they would eventually start to fill with water. The hotel did not have blankets, only sheets for the beds, so had to compensate with room temperature. The breakfast was a lame continental breakfast like the mid-range hotels of the 80's and 90's. Didn't even have cereal. On Saturday night it was very noisy in that area, with sirens, loud cars and parties.

Breakfast was horrible. Coffee bar was scant. Room was outdated and dingy. The bathroom was gross.

Nice enough, could improve cleanliness. Handy to Country Club Plaza and areas of interest. Breakfast is basically a bagel bar.

I booked a room that said “breakfast included” and on check in found out that means “bagels” and then the next morning there was Nothing but juice and coffee. The front desk said “Well there was a large group of young people here from Denmark.” ??? Then volunteered that there would not be a problem the next day. But the next day we watched more than one couple walk in to the dining area to find Nothing. The staff can only provide what is provided to them. But this hotel should not be advertising “breakfast.”

Water in shower took 10 minutes to get warm, never got hot. Breakfast was sad, stale bagels, shriveled apples, the coffee tasted bad and the urn was frequently empty
