Lovely old fashioned hotel with direct access to the beach via staircases and a tunnel! Room was dated but very clean with plenty of room for storing clothes, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. The staff were all extremely helpful and welcoming. There was an indoor and outdoor pool to use. The indoor pool also had a steam room and jacuzzi. We found food a little pricey.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast were excellent. The heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and gym were well worth visiting. The sea view rooms offered some spectacular sunrises. The hotel location is ideal for discovering the English Riviera.

Have stayed here before, this is a great hotel with fantastic views, friendly staff and several social spaces to relax in, especially enjoy the indoor pool however on this occasion it was out of action for the entire weekend so we did not get to use it at all. Disappointing we were not made aware beforehand but these things happen. Overall still a pleasant, relaxing break from the working week with stunning views of the sea.

Overall I had a great four night stay. The restaurant/bar/lounge are lovely period rooms with great sea views. All the staff were very helpful (and mainly English). In the bedroom it was good that the windows could be opened (unlike in a lot of modern hotels). I'm very sensitive to noise but it was nice and quiet. A lot of the other hotels are on busy roads. The gym was average - fairly old equipment and didn't seem that clean. But a good sized room. However there were no exercise mats so had to lie on the carpet. Finally, minor complaint about breakfast but the vegetarian sausages were not good (they were basically tasteless deep fried vegetables) - most hotels serve quorn or soya sausages (which taste better and have some protein)

The area is ok. Beach is lovely.. The swimming pool was great. It was a shame that the jacuzzi jet were not working. The sauna was very very hot the seat were burning, this needs to looked at.. The breakfast was fabulous. We had a main meal and this could be better..

I liked the included guaranteed parking. The great included breakfast overlooking the sea. The indoor included swimming pool. A nothing , expensive hidden extras hotel. Great friendly team. An older charming hotel with style. No not plastic box....with plus ...plus...and maybe!! We would definitely stay again.

A delightful place to stay. Right on the sea with a splendid terrace. Restaurant, bar service, swimming pools, a gym and lots of free parking. A splendid hotel for a base to explore south Devon. A lift is available for most floors.

Overall the hotel was spotless and staff were excellent. The food and service were very good. Our room was excellent with sea views. Really hot though but that wasn’t the hotels fault. Only slight issue was the cleanliness of the swimming pool. Will the changing rooms were spotless the pool itself needed quite a bit of attention. The rails and walls around the edge of the pool itself were quite dirty. Just let down the overall experience but would still highly recommend.

We had a fab night. Overall the stay was great, staff are amazing and helpful. The pool was heaven. The food tasted great and good quality although would of been better if hot. The room..... amazing view, bed was supper comfy but the cleanliness wasnt great. Stains on the bedding, glass with marks on, rubbish under the bed and the carpet was stained. We saw past this as we just cleaned up before settling in. We would stay again.

This hotel is in the perfect spot,great parking availability, friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast , best place in paignton to enjoy an evening drink by the ocean. Rooms clean, bathroom clean. I would recommend this hotel for your stay.

Breakfast always good and staff happy and friendly Nice room with a good view of the promenade and pier. Spa and gym well equipped and clean, the hot tub jets were a little tired though. A couple of small things with the room, few hairs in th draws, stains on the carpet and dust and fluff on the bedside lights

Everything was very good. Excellent breakfast, friendly and efficient staff, spotlessly clean. Our experience was extremely positive and if we were to visit the area we would definitely stop at the Redcliffe Hotel again. We highly recommended it.

The Hotel was an excellent building kept in good state of cleanliness and friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Unfortunately Paignton as a town has seen better days and there were lots of obviously homeless people milling around, several of whom were only begging for money from passers by. The comparison with Torquay for instance was stark. There were very few places worth visiting in the evening in Paignton either for food or entertainment. Toirquay was the place to go.

Only issue was noise from above room. Obviously children running and jumping. Not good first thing in the morning and early evening. It meant that the room wasn’t a place to relax.

We had a lovely family stay at the Redcliffe Hotel. We stayed here with our family members also from the north. Parking was great, location to the beach and pier was perfect. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We were a party of 9 and we were able to sit tighter at breakfast, in the bar and even had a private dining room where we were able to welcome family in who lived locally. The pool was an added bonus for the children, just need to remember your own shampoo and shower gel for the showers. The hotel it’s self was rather warm for February and we did struggle with this but I suppose it’s better than it being cold. We had a sea view family room which had two rooms including a fridge which was convenient. The only issue was with the shower head it just didn’t reach high enough for my tall husband. Oh and no safe in rooms. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely old hotel that would have been very grand in its day, but is still clean and comfortable with good facilities. Swimming pool was lovely to use after a days walking the SW coast path. Breakfast was lovely with excellent views from the dining room across the bay of Paignton. Room was clean and comfortable, but i would say if you can run to it, book a sea view room (we didn't), because we peeped into one and they appear to have been renovated and have the most amazing views across the bay. The only criticism would be that the bed was how I would imagine a mortuary slab to feel, it was rock hard!

It is like being transported back to the 1970s and what was considered sophisticated at that time. The hotel is a Grade II listed building, situated on a headland between Paignton and Preston beaches, with fabulous views from the gardens of the whole of Torbay, and yes the gardens and those views are to die for. There is a new and good indoor pool with sauna area, and a gym, which I didn’t use so cannot comment on. There is also an outdoor pool, but this is only open late July through August. The rooms are uninspired at best. We had a standard twin. (I had originally booked a double with a sea-view, but we need a walk in shower, and s9 had to switch). The fittings and furnishings resemble my student accommodation at the halls of residence, from the 1970s. No air-con, no fridge, no hair dryer, no vanity mirror. Yes you could ask for a hair dryer and a fan, but the hair dryer really should be integral to the room, and whilst the Grade II listing may make it difficult to install air-con in the rooms, they could at least have put in ceiling fans. Breakfasts were actually pretty good. A selection of cereals, melon, yoghurts and fruit drinks, followed by a cooked breakfast, and the scrambled eggs were excellent and we had them every day of our stay and they always looked freshly prepared. Evening meals, if you wanted to dine in the hotel, were not as good. The menu is again uninspired, and the food perfunctory. Also I would say, not a hotel for anyone under 50.

Staff were great looked after us well, extremely friendly . Bedroom was lovely , great view . We just found the bed to hard to sleep on , had a bout 4 hours sleep and just sat in the chairs watching the sun come up .

Trouble with the boiler, according to the reception, caused the heating to be on permanently making it extremely hot in the room to be able to sleep. Couldn’t turn the radiator off!

Lovely Hotel, with fantastic friendly staff, very comfortable beds, and the most wonderful restaurant looking out over the sea with views to Paignton and Torquay, breakfast was delicious! We will definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay but there were a couple of things that didn’t go unnoticed, the staff were very slow in the breakfast area with 2 of the mornings being made to wait an hour before we had even received our breakfast. We waited 40mins and we still hadn’t been asked if we wanted a tea or coffee so we did have to ask the staff a lot for the basic things which included asking for more of the buffet style food to be replenished as most mornings not everything was there to grab. The bed was very uncomfortable and definitely due a new mattress as I could feel the springs in my back and you heard them every time you slightly moved on the bed. On one of the days our room was missed on the room cleaning as when we returned in the evening our bedroom hadn’t been cleaned. Apart from this, the hotel is in a perfect location to the seaside and other towns nearby and we still had a lovely stay but definitely some points need to be changed :)

Loved the atmosphere of the hotel! Just feels warm and cosy and the staff are very nice and helpful. Perfect location by the sea with incredible sea views from the lounge. The first room I received was not soundproof so I was moved to another room. They actually upgraded me which was a very nice gesture. The room cards were easily loosing their coding so from time to time I needed to request it to be coded again. Very nice and generous cooked breakfast with again amazing sea views. I would stay again

This is our 4th visit to the Redcliffe and we generally enjoy our stay as the staff and the service they give is always very good. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although we have noticed that they are becoming a bit tired and could do with some renovation. We know there are plans to do alterations in the coming months but also hope that it keeps it character. The food is always good , especially the breakfast, and the staff are always very attentive.

The hotels location on the see front is superb with great views across the bay from the extensive terraces. The hotel staff were exceptional providing outstanding customer service it without a doubt what makes this hotel so special, the staff are a credit to the Redcliffe Hotel. We will definitely be returning, a big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable

Staying at the Redcliffe Hotel Paignton is an enjoyable experience with professional, friendly and helpful staff. Situated right on the sea front the gardens & hotel overlooks the wonderful Torbay. No roads between the Hotel and the sea is brilliant and there is plenty of free parking on site. Close to Paignton town centre means it is only a short walk to the shops & the excellent Vue cinema complex. Whilst the Hotel is of age it still offers a very comfortable environment and we believe that major renovations are in the pipeline which hopefully won’t take away from its wonderful charm. Having stayed B&B the choice of food is good on the buffet table and the cooked breakfast is excellent & cooked to order which means that the eggs etc are fresh.

It's in an amazing loaction. Not far from the train or bus station. Very easy accessible. Definitely would go again. The dining experience was top notch, silver service dinner and the food qas amazing. The staff are very friendly and the hotel has a warm welcoming atmosphere.

I stay in lots of hotels and I prefer to stay in non corporate ones if possible. But, you do get consistency in them. A few little niggles prevent this lovely hotel from getting 5 stars from me. Wouldn’t stop me coming back , but for no cost , could be that bit better. No info in the room at all about hotel facilities, pool, mealtimes, menus etc. I had to return to reception to get dinner menu. Three course set meal good value and lovely food. Next night bar meal, fish n chips £17. I’ve had bigger fish fingers! Very disappointed. My partners light bite was a bigger meal. I did mention it and the bar man apologised. I was still hungry though! Lovely breakfast overlooking the sea. Heating was off in room all day making it a bit chilly but comes on late at night? TV has lots of channels but most of them are blank. As I said, small but annoying niggles that don’t need to be .

Not a great choice on the evening menu, I had the vegetable lasagne and it was mainly white sauce and tomato sauce, no noticeable vegetables! Very disappointed!

The hotel is situated right on the water/beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was excellent and the view from the room was amazing. The food, especially the breakfast, was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our two day break.

The area is ok. Beach is lovely.. The swimming pool was great. It was a shame that the jacuzzi jet were not working. The sauna was very very hot the seat were burning, this needs to looked at.. The breakfast was fabulous. We had a main meal and this could be better..

Ggreat seafront location close to pier, town centre and other facilities. Very efficient and friendly staff. Choice and quality of food very good. Would prefer to have a choice of two or three courses for dinner rather than three courses. Some common areas needed cleaning particularly around the edges. All that said I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a comfortable convenient and pleasant stay in the South Devon area.

Very good all round. Limited menu. A few point just not quite right to make it exceptional. 4 night stay. We needed to ask (almost daily) for an item including Coffee sachets, Body wash, Toilet tissue.

We had a three night stay and found the hotel to be very quiet and comfortable. It was very well heated and the facilities well cared for. It is however in need of some sympathetic updating to preserve its character. We had a room with a sea view and small balcony which we enjoyed. The Breakfast was nicely cooked although some may find the choice a little bit limited compared to Buffet style breakfasts in other hotels.

Lovely old hotel, staff service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome and valued as customers. The room was comfortable and pleasing with superb sea views immediately overlooking the beach there was even a small balcony area to stand out on.
