Enjoyed our stay here. Great location in the quarter just off Bourbon Street but surprisingly quiet. This is an old quirky inn. Every room is different. People with mobility issues should check first to make sure the room is accessible, our room was lofted with the beds upstairs. Our room had a little kitchenette. There is a cute parlor on the first floor with free coffee, tea, and cold water, a piano, and a guitar. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The little courtyard pool was in excellent condition. Sadly we saw no ghosts - maybe next time!

The outside didn't look like much and we were worried about parking but I called and was met with a "just park where you can and we have valet that will park for you". Now you pay per night to park (like $37 or $38 I believe but that's everywhere). The staff (everyone) was amazing and the hotel inside was historic and absolutely beautiful. I actually think the hotel was our favorite part of our time in NOLA. Staff give recommendations on places to eat. I wish I could remember names but it doesn't really matter because from check in to valet to check out they were all so helpful and nice and made our stay so much better than any chain hotel could have. If ever back in NOLA, this is where we will stay.

The Olivier House was a wonderful experience. With centuries old decor, world tiniest elevator, creepy ghosty histroy story, charming indoor/outdoor vibe, refreshing clean pool, and sweet lovable cats living as full tenants. It is only 1 min from noisy loud Boubin Street but you cannot hear all that noise. The parlor room makes you feel like you have walk right into your own home because its that comfortable. I highly recommend this wonderful place. It has that old world Louisiana charm that I was hoping to experience. And I did and much more. I loved exploring every nook and cranny of the place.

Absolutely amazing. Perfect New Orleans aesthetic. Awesome pool. The rooms are so comfy and so so cute. The balcony’s are shared which was fine but the cats and coffee / espresso station made the trip extra special! Will no doubt be back here next year!!

Chris was awesome! A surprise upgrade that made my whole visit. A very cool property with unique rooms. Beautiful courtyard and lovely saltwater pool with fountain.

Very cool old place lots of different rooms, antiques, great snacks and coffee, very helpful staff , a bit noisy with balcony room morning street sweepers but no noise from Bourbon street just 2/2 block away, nice pool but not heated

Excellent hotel option in the French Quarter. Right off of Bourbon Street but quiet at night. The rooms have an awesome French Quarter flare and the pool in the courtyard is refreshing. The staff is amazing and available to help when needed. There is always coffee, water and snacks to grab before enjoying your time in New Orleans. Highly recommend staying here.

This is the most authentic new orleans property. So unique and beautiful. Our bathtub had a drain issue which caused it to flood up through the separated shower. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They even refunded my stay without even asking. If you're looking to really experience true authentic New Orleans. This is the place. Beautiful paintings hang all over the property. They stair case and lobby is so beautiful. The lobby cats are firendly and adorable. The staff is so nice. The pool is absolutely gorgeous. I will be back, you won't find a more unigue stay anywhere. I've traveled all over the country and this to me is the most beautiful and unique and history rich property that I have ever been to (the coffee was good too) all in all, minus the bathtub incident ((which they said they are going to fix today. Oh, and the bathtub is huge)) - this is an absolutely amazing property and i will be back.

This is an absolute gorgeous historical landmark, one of hundreds in the French Quarters. The check in process was so simple and so personable. My understanding is each room on property has its own unique flavor and flair and look. Some rooms with balconies overlooking Toulouse Street with tables and chairs to sit during the days or evenings and take it all in. If you’re looking for something reasonably prices and centrally located, this is definitely the spot for you. Our room was a queen with balcony. The room was so spacious and all we’ve talked about since we got home two days ago was just how comfortable the mattress/bed felt and slept. We were just so incredibly comfortable and slept better than I have in many years!!! I’d be willing to return just to sleep all weekend on Room 301’s mattresses. I just can’t rave enough about our lovely time, although much too short. We plan to return very soon!! Next time we’ll check out that in ground swimming pool we saw as we got onto the elevator. Speaking of the elevator, my husband is 6’0” tall and weighs approximately 225 lbs. Seeing him carrying our bags and getting on and off the elevator was comical each time. The elevator is quite small and room for two max I’d say. But there are stairs easily accessible directly in front of elevators and easier to access and climb than what you’d see in a traditional hotel/motel location. We absolutely adored this location and can’t wait to visit again soon!!’

The rooms were very unique, the views out the balcony were spectacular. My main complaint would be around some of the little details - like scratchy, old (or maybe cheap) bedsheets, holes in towels, stains on a couch, that sort of thing. That being said, the staff was lovely, there were complimentary snacks in the lobby/lounge, the building and rooms are just fascinating, and the hotel is very conveniently located for everything. If the hotel just got new sheets/towels and maybe switched out a few of the old, worndown upholstered furniture, it would be excellent.

Good, quiet location in the French Quarter. Lovely courtyards inside. Room was musty and not very clean. Strange black residue in the sink kept appearing after we repeatedly removed it. Front desk attendant laughed when we mentioned it. We had to ask more than once to get our room cleaned. Attendants were friendly but not warm/welcoming. It would have been okay for a one or two day stay, but six days was too many to put up with these inconveniences. Cat’s were the best part of the stay.

There is nothing that we did not like about the Olivier House. The grounds and rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were all very nice and polite. We will definitely be staying here again!

Olivier House is located in the heart of the French Quarter and within walking distance of everything. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. We felt safe in the area…someone was at the front desk 24/7 and always available. There was water bottles, coffee, hot chocolate and oatmeal available as well as tangerines and assortment of snacks free to guests. A lovely courtyard with fountains was a nice touch. They store luggage if you need accommodated. The hotel is definitely not modern and retains the appearance of an old quaint environment. However, the shower was wonderful with hot water and all the convenience of modern day. There is a microwave, coffee pot and fridge. The bedspread and curtains are worn but sheets were clean. Remember, this is an old house and walls are not soundproof so be respectful of your neighbors. Also, noise from the street can be bothersome….bring earplugs. Daily housekeeping always made the beds and supplied towels but occasionally missed replacing coffee and hair products. We would recommend some places to eat…for breakfast, we liked Wakin Bakin on Dumaine and Dauphine and Ocena on Conti….nothing fancy but good breakfast. Also, try The Royal House Oyster Bar on Royal…..wonderful for any meal. .The Tipsy Trumpet and Buffas for jazz. WWII museum is a must see, Swamp tour is great, cemetary tour a must and Hop on Hop Off bus is a good start to all of it. Just wear comfortable shoes and start exploring!!

Very lovely old hotel with wonderful front desk staff, funky old NOLA surroundings and well located in the FQ. Loved the private courtyards and pool. As a single woman traveling I felt very safe. The hotel itself is a little tired …. But really my only complaint was the old shower in the bathroom, didn’t work well, unable to switch from shower to bath and drain did not close. Overall a lovely stay.

Property was a little rundown. There was an odor in the room and stained carpet. Also, housekeeping forgot to remove a box of things that the previous guest left. Which made me unsure of the cleanliness of the room/sheets. Just a weird vibe overall.

The hotel was amazing! Very friendly staff and such a unique and beautiful historic building. Our suite was very spacious and clean. I didn’t hear any sounds from outside of our room the entire weekend and the hotel was busy. That made it very easy to relax.

The Olivier House is a unique, charming, historical hotel. The property is filled with antiques and around every corner there seems to be a hidden courtyard or beautiful garden. It is very close to Bourbon Street which makes it conveniently located in the middle of the French Quarter and all of the shops and restaurants that the area has to offer. That also means it can be very loud into the middle of the night which can make sleep difficult. Our room, while comfortable, had a very strong musty smell (overwhelming smell) and the floor was dirty, especially an area rug that was filthy, The bathroom was updated and the shower had good water pressure and 2 shower heads. The beds were very comfortable and the property as a whole was unique and a fun place to stay for a few nights. The house cats were a huge hit for our child. The cookies were a huge hit for my husband.

Enjoyed our stay here. Great location in the quarter just off Bourbon Street but surprisingly quiet. This is an old quirky inn. Every room is different. People with mobility issues should check first to make sure the room is accessible, our room was lofted with the beds upstairs. Our room had a little kitchenette. There is a cute parlor on the first floor with free coffee, tea, and cold water, a piano, and a guitar. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The little courtyard pool was in excellent condition. Sadly we saw no ghosts - maybe next time!

Hotel with character. Looking for modern conveniences, book elsewhere. The AC, unlike our previous hotel, was quiet and worked flawlessly. Maybe we encountered a ghost, closet door mysteriously closed when both my wife and I swore we left it open. If you get a court yard facing room, the noise of New Orleans is quite subdued. I would not book online if you are tall as my room had a loft, I am 5’9” and had probably 6-8 inches of clearance.

The staff was excellent! The rooms were big and very neat. Had a weird shower in our room that was actually framed out of wood, but it worked great. Just lots of really cool things about this place and we loved the stay.

Absolutely amazing. Perfect New Orleans aesthetic. Awesome pool. The rooms are so comfy and so so cute. The balcony’s are shared which was fine but the cats and coffee / espresso station made the trip extra special! Will no doubt be back here next year!!

Our stay was great! Staff was always pleasant and available to assist if we needed anything. The room was quiet and spacious and seating was comfortable. We had a private balcony that overlooked the pool courtyard and even that was quiet despite being a 2 minute walk from Bourbon St. The bathroom was well-appointed and shower was huge with 4 shower heads. The only thing we really had issues with was how firm the bed was, but that's not necessarily a bad thing for everyone. We just prefer a softer mattress. Location was fantastic as well and within walking distance of just about everything. Frenchman Street was the furthest walk (about 15 minutes if you aren't distracted), but still very doable. Overall we highly recommend the Olivier House to couples looking for a nice getaway.

I loved this hotel! It was charming and so much character. It was a little loud but I stayed during Mardi Gras so that was too be expected. I think having the spiral staircase in the Petite Loft was challenging to maneuver as well so you if think that'll be an issue just choose a different room. :) I would definitely start here again, I would just choose a run without stairs.

This a great example of a historic boutique hotel. Each room is different and only the bathroom amenities and windows have been modernized. It is a confusing hodge-podge of rooms and corridors to find the tiny elevator and your room. The WiFi and TV were great. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and the location less than a block from Bourbon Street and a short walk to Jackson Square can't be beat. Just make sure that, unlike us, you don't come for the weekend when Taylor Swift is performing 3 shows in the Superdome. The prices were sky-high (at all hotels) and the attractions and restaurants were extremely busy.

This is one half block off Bourbon Street, so there are a lot of things that come with that. Room was really clean and quiet from the inside, my room had a balcony facing the street (which I asked for) so there was some noise from that, however, we did sleep well. Only real complaint, receptionist did not greet, she stayed on her phone as we passed her in the main lobby. The males who serviced the desk were great.

The hotel was amazing! Very friendly staff and such a unique and beautiful historic building. Our suite was very spacious and clean. I didn’t hear any sounds from outside of our room the entire weekend and the hotel was busy. That made it very easy to relax.

Well, this was a bit of a surprise. We came with another couple but I was in charge of the lodging. Based on previous guest’s reviews, the front desk staff were supposed to be super friendly and helpful. Not so upon checkin. Barely got acknowledged after standing there for a couple of minutes. Desk person was doing something on the computer and obviously that was more important. We eventually got checked in and used the valet service. We were on the 4th floor but had to ask where the elevator was. Pointed to that area, pool and snack room. Very poor first impression. The other reason we picked this hotel was because of the ratings for cleanliness and charming rooms. To be fair, we always like a high floor away from elevators and ice machines which is why they must have put us on the 4th floor. Both women were pretty freaked out when they opened their doors. VERY dated furniture and the rooms were quite quirky. Our comforter was badly stained with God knows what on the inside cover. Everything in the room worked ok but not anything like the pictures on the booking site. In all fairness, there were probably nicer rooms but both of ours were not. Bed was comfortable. Location great and fairly quiet considering how close we were to Bourbon Street. The hotel snack area was well equipped and the sitting areas on the main floor were very comfortable. Cool courtyard. Believe it or not, we aren’t too fussy but this is not a do over. Desk person at checkout A+.

Outside of how cute this place is and the awesome location, I think what really makes this hotel great is how friendly and helpful the staff are. From the moment I walked I felt like I was treated like family. They were helpful, kind, and accommodating and put my experience over the top. I stay in a good number of hotels each year and I’d say this one is one of the best. Will definitely return next time I find myself in NOLA.

Staff could not have been nicer. We were offered a map, dining suggestions, and an overview of the neighborhood. Great location to walk to restaurants and the WW2 museum. Though the location was central, our room was quiet and cozy. Valet had our car ready and waiting for an early flight along with fresh coffee available. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great stay, location is perfect in the center of the actions and not too noisy, about 2 mins walk to Bourbon street, 5 mins to Jackson square. Hotel decor is very unique make it feel like a vintage old style home back in the day. Would definitely go back to stay there again next time I visit New Orleans.

The Olivier House was a wonderful experience. With centuries old decor, world tiniest elevator, creepy ghosty histroy story, charming indoor/outdoor vibe, refreshing clean pool, and sweet lovable cats living as full tenants. It is only 1 min from noisy loud Boubin Street but you cannot hear all that noise. The parlor room makes you feel like you have walk right into your own home because its that comfortable. I highly recommend this wonderful place. It has that old world Louisiana charm that I was hoping to experience. And I did and much more. I loved exploring every nook and cranny of the place.

Free waters, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit (and a piano and guitar if you are so inclined) are available all day in the lobby. The location is great, being in the very walkable French Quarter and a few blocks from the street car stops on Canal. The staff is attentive and very helpful, we would definitely stay here again.

There were even 3 resident cats that roam around and are the cutest. There is a fridge full of waters along with a coffee station in the lobby. It can be a bit loud on weekend nights with bourbon being 2 blocks away, but that comes with the territory. The hotel was also very accommodating and provided us with a late checkout.

General review: Beautiful decoration and 3 lovely cats on premise [hello Magnolia and Tajie (sp?) who was the employer of the month]. The decoration is like out of a fairy tale. Each floor has a balcony area for people to sit and enjoy the view of New Orleans. We enjoy the walk through the hotel every time we exit and come back. There's a bit of quirkiness in the signages as well in the elevator and staircase :) They provide free water, coffee, and cookies in the kitchen area which is a huge plus. Room review: Pros: We had a quiet room on the 4th floor. Comfy bed, cozy decor, and large, clean bathroom. Cons: The bathroom door was more like a coat closet panel door. General review: Beautiful decoration and 3 lovely cats on premise [hello Magnolia and Tajie (sp?) who was the employer of the month]. The decoration is like out of a fairy tale. Each floor has a balcony area for people to sit and enjoy the view of New Orleans. We enjoy the walk through the hotel every time we exit and come back. There's a bit of quirkiness in the signages as well in the elevator and staircase :) They provide free water, coffee, and cookies in the kitchen area which is a huge plus. Room review: Pros: We had a quiet room on the 4th floor. Comfy bed, cozy decor, and large, clean bathroom. Cons: The bathroom door was more like a coat closet panel door. No ventilation or way to open the window in the bathroom. No shelves in the shower to put shampoo, face wash, body wash, etc. And the sink is a bit too high up. We would come back again in the future!

This is the most authentic new orleans property. So unique and beautiful. Our bathtub had a drain issue which caused it to flood up through the separated shower. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They even refunded my stay without even asking. If you're looking to really experience true authentic New Orleans. This is the place. Beautiful paintings hang all over the property. They stair case and lobby is so beautiful. The lobby cats are firendly and adorable. The staff is so nice. The pool is absolutely gorgeous. I will be back, you won't find a more unigue stay anywhere. I've traveled all over the country and this to me is the most beautiful and unique and history rich property that I have ever been to (the coffee was good too) all in all, minus the bathtub incident ((which they said they are going to fix today. Oh, and the bathtub is huge)) - this is an absolutely amazing property and i will be back.

This is an absolute gorgeous historical landmark, one of hundreds in the French Quarters. The check in process was so simple and so personable. My understanding is each room on property has its own unique flavor and flair and look. Some rooms with balconies overlooking Toulouse Street with tables and chairs to sit during the days or evenings and take it all in. If you’re looking for something reasonably prices and centrally located, this is definitely the spot for you. Our room was a queen with balcony. The room was so spacious and all we’ve talked about since we got home two days ago was just how comfortable the mattress/bed felt and slept. We were just so incredibly comfortable and slept better than I have in many years!!! I’d be willing to return just to sleep all weekend on Room 301’s mattresses. I just can’t rave enough about our lovely time, although much too short. We plan to return very soon!! Next time we’ll check out that in ground swimming pool we saw as we got onto the elevator. Speaking of the elevator, my husband is 6’0” tall and weighs approximately 225 lbs. Seeing him carrying our bags and getting on and off the elevator was comical each time. The elevator is quite small and room for two max I’d say. But there are stairs easily accessible directly in front of elevators and easier to access and climb than what you’d see in a traditional hotel/motel location. We absolutely adored this location and can’t wait to visit again soon!!’

Funky Victorian decor, fresh coffee and biscotti all day in the parlor, and staff who love the city and offer great advice on music, restaurants, and logistics. Probably the most beautiful and unusual hotel I’ve stayed at in the US apart from the Parker House in Chicago. You can walk easily to points of interest all over downtown. One block from Bourbon Street but quiet, even on Friday night.

The shower stall was very slippery, my husband is handicap and I am 66 years old and we both almost fell and Therese's no place to put you soap and essentials in the shower. No soap or shampoo was provided, and I had to ask for washcloths and hand towels.

Amazing hotel to stay at in a historical building with beautiful court yards and a nice pool to cool off in. The balcony that faced the court yard was a nice highlight. If you are looking for a stay that give a different vibe then your modern hotel this is it! Their lobby cats, especially the “copy cat” made it feel even more welcoming. A coffee bar and unlimited water bottles to have on hot days were a great touch! Our favourite staff was the fellow on the night shift, we never did catch his name, but loved how he was strumming the guitar during slow times as we came in and was very eager to help make our stay amazing. 100% recommendation if you are looking for a unique stay, within walking distance of everything in the French Quarter
