Maui Sunset B-115

I have to give kudos to the maintenance and grounds teams as Maui Sunset. They work non stop to make sure the pool area , BBQ's and the lawn are immaculate . Not just once a day...everyday.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The complex was very well cared for. The (1 bedroom sleeps 5) condo at 732sf was surprisingly large enough for us and our three teenage grandchildren. Queen bed in the bedroom, Queen pullout sofa bed, along with a 1 person murphy bed. It had two bathrooms with showers and everything worked. The kitchen was well equipped with even a rice cooker and deep fat fryer. The outdoor grills made great steaks and ribs. The pool was a cooling temperature and kept all the children active. The hot tub was at a very comfy level. The beach had a few small rocks and coral pieces whish made it a bit hard for swimming. Walking on the beach was always a new experience. Crabs, lobster shells, Green sea turtles sunning themselves, people fishing, and catching octopus, kayaking or paddle boarding. So much to do!! The pool area had a locker which houses a large array of yard games and beach toys.We didn't encounter any rain during our 11 days here. It was 88 every day and in the 70's at night.The staff here was very helpful and kind as if you were their neighbor. We had a great experience at the aquarium and the road to Hana. Make sure you swim under the waterfalls. Extra invigorating. We had the chance to take in a parade in Lahaina where 9 Islands were displayed. The costumes and flowers were very impressive. On fathers day we went to a car show at Wailea malls. Fantastic!! The blowhole on the north end was crazy. The Lau Lau is very tasty.Chickens RULE the island**It says I'm from Seattle but NO, I'm from Minnesota.

Great location, big condo for price, condo in good condition, big pool, excellent beach-going accessories, older building. Beautiful view, nice that it was not exactly west-facing as this left the lanai nicely shaded for much of the day. Bedroom windows along corridor side, so could hear people coming in and out of neighbouring.

The room was very nice and accommodated our needs well. It smelled good upon arrival, the amenities (washer / dryer, kitchen, spices, cookware) etc. worked well for us. There were plenty of beach chairs (7?). There was snorkeling gear for 4 adults, so I ended up renting a set for the week from the activities desk below. The pool / hot tub area was great and the kids enjoyed the shuffleboard and tennis. I would only note 2 drawbacks. One was the beach: ok for walking distance, but very narrow and rocky so not good for "hanging out" so we had to drive to other beaches. The second and biggest frustration was apparently our week stay was during the 1 time of year the property scalps and reseeds all the grass. This happened for 3 days of our stay and we heard nothing but yard equipment all day and grass was everywhere. It was disappointing we weren't aware of this schedule. We had such a nice room and the property was so wonderful, only to be overshadowed by the work going on. I'd definitely go back though.

I’ve stayed at Maui Sunset three times now and it’s always a pleasure. Great condo, great property, haven’t had a bad experience. This is a perfect ground floor unit. We were there Jan 1-7 and there were a ton of people the first day or so (a given bc of new years) so it could be loud as the condo is across from the pool but we weren’t around during the day so this wasn’t an issue for us. After the holiday crowd left it was fine. This also made a slight issue with parking. I suppose a lot of people had more one than one vehicle in the lot so the first two nights we had to park in the street but not far. Again, once the holiday crowd left, this was no longer an issue. Very clean. AC is great. Two bathrooms were very convenient. The bed was a tad uncomfortable but we were so tired after adventuring in the sun everyday, we really didn’t mind. It was decent enough. Laundry always a PLUS!! kitchen is stocked with basics, enough for quick small meals. No complaints. Check in and check out were a breeze as well! They also had a new thing going this time — live music during the week on the grounds! It was really cool!!

We had a fabulous time celebrating a birthday, love the pool area and will be back!

Condo was great size for family of four. Two nice size bedrooms, and two bath. As with many of the condos here in Maui, definitely needed some maintenance completed And a good deep cleaning. The pool and surrounding grounds of the property were absolutely pristine. Location fantastic to get to all parts of the island.

The unit was clean, accessible and had pretty much everything we would need and more. Nice lanai balcony to hang out and right on the beach, which was super Convenient. Close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Location was a perfect midpoint to explore the island from all directions while still being in the best place on Maui, which is Kihei in my opinion. Price was very reasonable and had a nice pool and hot tub, tennis courts, shuffleboard, workout room and a huge park area for me and my son to play catch and run around which was great. Been to several other places on Kihei, which were nice as well, but didn’t have the amenities that Maui sunset did. Highly recommend

This is the second time we have stayed at Maui Sunset and it was just as great as the last. The property and condo were clean and just as advertised. The kids absolutely loved the pool and most afternoons were spent there with the kids swimming and playing while I read a book or socialized with others staying on the property. The beach on the property was great for taking in the sunrise and sunset, and there was great oportunities to walk along the beach and see trutles in the evening and early mornings. The location of the property in Kihei is great, with easy access to the main highways to get to the various other towns and points of interest on the island and a short drive to the many beaches and shops to the south. Overall I would recommend this property and condo to others looking for a two bedroom accommodation in Kihei.

Parking was good. There are a lot of parking spots that you can park in front of the property. It’s a little outdated and maybe need a little of TLC and update. The view was perfect. The beach and amenities are just in front of the condo. The only downside was cleanliness. I was told the property was not ready yet bc they are cleaning but I still saw lizard “poops” on top of the counter, floor and beside the fridge. It was so visible. I was able to sweep it but the expectation of they cleaned it was so disappointing.

We were there in August 2022 and the unit was in bad need of a deep clean and a paint job wouldn't hurt. Some new furniture inside and out wouldn't hurt either - master bed, living room furniture and patio furniture.WIFI instructions were wrong, office couldn't help had to wait around for tech to figure it out. Washer would only fill about 3 inches of water, called office, said they would send repair guy, nada. Not sure how cleaners get the unit ready for next renters.Maui Sunset is awesome, the grounds don't have the same wow factor as our first visit 8 years ago but still great area and would go back again in a heart beat!

The grounds and pool are beautiful. The unit we stayed in has not been kept up and needs to be refurbished. It was dirty, missing tiles, mold and rust in the shower. The refrigerator leaks water from the freezer down into the fridge everyday. Really worn and I will not stay again.

Overall I’d rate my experience a 3.5-4 out of 5. The location was quite central in Kihei, access to a pool and beach. The condo could use a deep clean, new bedding, and some more basic items such as garbage bags, paper towel etc. The condo grounds and bbqs are nicely maintained. My biggest suggestion is just a more comprehensive clean of the apartment.

this condo is so lux! clean, stocked with all the vacation necessities, comfortable beds and pullout couch. so so so clean. breathtaking views. love the push button access, no worries about lost keys. management company is professional and responsive.

I did take pictures, but I wasn't able to upload them. Kitchen/Laundry area: The stainless steel appliances are very dirty, the laundry area needs cleaning, and the washing machine sounds like a jet taking off! The recessed lights are very dirty. Bathroom not master: The shower rod fell off and can not be reattached; it is too old and deteriorated. The baseboards and air conditioners throughout the whole unit are very dirty. The curtains are dirty and torn.We decided to stay. This was a short stay and close to family. On a positive note, there are new bamboo cabinets in the kitchen, which are beautiful but sadly seem out of place compared to the rest of the condo.

The space was so tight. The furniture were too old and not clean. No response from management when calling or texting.The AC so noisy and not properly functioning. Overall not a good experience. Will never choose this place again and will never recommend to anybody else.

Our family enjoyed a four night stay here. The property is beautiful. I liked the murphy beds which were a good use of space in the living room. The condo is very convenient on the first floor and has everything you need provided. The bedroom is small but comfortable and is next to the parking lot and outer walkway with a sliding glass door that’s concealed with drapes. Sometimes people were loud in this parking lot during the night and you could hear them talking and yelling. That is the only minor thing that was an issue.

I thought this was a handicapped accessible unit. It did have a ramp from the parking lot. However the tiny bathrooms with low toilets and no safety bars make the bathrooms ineffective. The high dining room table and tall chairs for the dining room and bar make it difficult to eat.

Amazing views from living and balcony area. The place was decorated really nice and had a closet full of beach chairs, towels and snorkel gear. The main living area was large and was a nice open space. the two bedrooms and bathrooms were on the smaller size , but the private large balcony and spacious living area were great. The property was well maintained and kept up nice. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Very peaceful and relaxing, our kids probably contributed to most of the excitement that weekend, LOL. Grocery stores are located near by, Kahului isn’t too far either. Down falls, the refrigerator and oven did not work properly. Our food froze up after the second day, ended up having to toss most out before we left. Wendi from Kumulani was great! She assisted us with all our needs and concerns. We’ll be back!

It was close to the ocean

AMaui Sunset review booklet was missing this time...need it for TV direction. Asked for and received one.Some type of door lock mixup at the end of my stay but was resolved pretty quickly. Plan to return... hope I can make it happen. Nice property but too close to road as the noice was very noticeable this time.
