Staff were friendly. Grounds and salt water pool were well maintained. Additional pool was closed and being refurbished. Meals were a la cart and very good as it was off season. Drinks were very good and service was great. Walking trail beside the beach was nice. Sunsets were beautiful.

The resort is fine if your goal is to simply unwind and relax by the pool or beach. However, there’s not much in terms of entertainment or organized activities, so it may not be ideal for those looking for a more engaging or lively experience. Dining options are also quite limited—there's only one buffet and one à la carte restaurant, which is only open for dinner. Unlike other all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed at, room service was not available, which was a bit disappointing.

Not very many amenities. Mini bar was very very minimal. Pool was dirty. Sidewalks not in good shape. Pool bars were not open. “All inclusive” did not include much!

This is a smaller property with a great, friendly staff. It is quiet and the pools at nice. Food was delicious with a number of options, but one dining area. The beach is public not a private beach so you have gate access. No big deal. There is no unobstructed views of the beach from any room as it is lined with trees, but you can see the water through them. Not a bad thing, just passing that on. I stayed in a garden room or cottage which was quaint. Air worked well, fridge stocked daily and coffee available. TV worked but didn't use it. There wasn't much of a garden area, just some grass. No place to sit outside the cottage to enjoy coffee. Could use a bit of updating of bathroom as shower head, hot tub, faucets were dated and showing age and leaving some. The grounds were well kept and the dining area was open and not crowded. It would be nice to have covered seating area around the grounds as it rained daily so you had to sit in the dining area or your room if you didn't want to get wet. I would have liked to sit outside and enjoy the rain and view with a cup of coffee but couldn't. I would recommend the resort as i enjoyed myself and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Families were there and enjoyed their time as well.

We stayed at an ocean view room right by the pool which was really convenient and nice. Loved both chlorine and salt water pools, each with a pool bar, large and relaxing. Easy access to the beach and free kayak/paddle board rental to enjoy, and their buffet food was great too. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Too bad the wall between the rooms are super thin so you can easily hear your neighbors. Pools would be better if leaves are cleaned more often.

Top notch resort that checks all the boxes. Friendly staff, excellent food and nice rooms. Property has several pools, a couple of which are salt water. Excellent beach, mostly pristine, with different entertainment options; jet skies, kayaks and more.

A very beautiful property nestled in the jungle beside the Black Sand Beach. A very quiet location for mostly retirees or seniors. The service and food was excellent. There are only one restaurant on the property. If you're going for relaxation and quiet time this is the perfect location.

Rooms were clean and nice. Pool area was dirty with lots of cracked tiles. Only restaurant open during stay was buffet where the food was good but very repetitive. A la carte was closed during our entire visit which was disappointing. Staff were friendly.

I recently stayed here with my family. The staff were all extremely kind and attentive. 10/10 for them! The food was delicious with a variety to pick from. Probably the best all inclusive food I’ve had. The resort itself can use some updating. There’s broken tiles throughout the resort, pool is dirty, soap scum in the shower.

We had a wonderful experience. The room was spotless and spacious. The food was wonderful and the chef made sure we had vegetarian options. The pool was lovely, warm and clean. Very quiet. The beach is natural with lots of trees lining the shore. We enjoyed the sea kayaks! The staff were kind and professional.

The property is old, rooms are dirty, towels were torn and worn out, pool had dirt and leaves at all times. Very limited dining options despite being all-inclusive. Food is good in buffet area, staff is very friendly. Except for front reception -Denis is rude and unfriendly. I would not go back to this property or recommend to anyone. There are several other options in the area.

Nasty! Leaky roofs that drip on your bed when it rains. And everyone I talked said the same thing. Dirty pools that need to be cleaned and skimmed. They never skim all the dead bugs and it is covering the surface.Slow bar tender service and not sanitary. Cups left for hours, dirty straws laying around- nobody cleans. Blasting music with the f-word from the pool bars with little kids everywhere. Poor housekeeping - I could go on and on. Literally wet toilet paper on the shower walls- dirt on counters, dead bugs all over the floor. The property itself is pretty, but all the infrastructure is falling apart. Do not stay here- it is gross!

We recently stayed at this small boutique hotel and had a mixed experience overall. There were some definite highlights, but also a few areas that need improvement. Pros: The hotel is small and quiet, with very few rooms, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Most of the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive especially when it came to accommodating my son’s food allergies. On several occasions, they prepared special meals just for him, which we deeply appreciated. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Because the hotel wasn’t crowded during our stay, it felt private and easy to enjoy the space. Cons: Requests took a long time to be addressed, and communication wasn’t always the best. It took two days to get bottled water refilled in our room. We ended up needing to leave the resort just to buy water ourselves. The pool was dirty the entire time we were there. We only saw someone attempt to clean it on the last day of our stay. Bug issues were a major problem at night. The resort charged $30 for bug spray, which felt excessive considering how bad the bugs were. Iguanas were a constant presence, even jumping on our table and eating our food, which was disruptive but also unsanitary. There was a large group and the hotel would reserve most tables at the only restaurant for them. The hotel has potential and some really caring staff, but a few key areas,particularly the cleanliness of shared spaces and basic guest comfort.

The property need a make over. The rooms and furniture were old and dark. The staff was amazing and the food was great. Absolutely nothing to do at the resort. There’s no music played throughout the property and there is no daytime or nighttime activity. The only thing you can do is go to the pool or lay out by the beach. The lobby is small and dated and very hot no air condition available in the lobby or dining area.

Enjoyed our stay and would recommend. In the master suite it would’ve been nice to have cups, plates and silverware. Also paper towels and dish towel. Reserved dining was delicious but not all options on menu were available. Maybe wait staff could announce at first before making dinner selection. Overall though room and property were very nice and staff always welcoming and helpful.

It would be nice to have covered seating area around the grounds as it rained daily so you had to sit in the dining area or your room if you didn't want to get wet. I would have liked to sit outside and enjoy the rain and view with a cup of coffee but couldn't. I would recommend the resort as i enjoyed myself and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Families were there and enjoyed their time as well.
This is a smaller property with a great, friendly staff. It is quiet and the pools at nice. Food was delicious with a number of options, but one dining area. The beach is public not a private beach so you have gate access. No big deal. There is no unobstructed views of the beach from any room as it is lined with trees, but you can see the water through them. Not a bad thing, just passing that on. I stayed in a garden room or cottage which was quaint. Air worked well, fridge stocked daily and coffee available. TV worked but didn't use it. There wasn't much of a garden area, just some grass. No place to sit outside the cottage to enjoy coffee. Could use a bit of updating of bathroom as shower head, hot tub, faucets were dated and showing age and leaving some. The grounds were well kept and the dining area was open and not crowded. We stayed at an ocean view room right by the pool which was really convenient and nice. Loved both chlorine and salt water pools, each with a pool bar, large and relaxing. Easy access to the beach and free kayak/paddle board rental to enjoy, and their buffet food was great too. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Too bad the wall between the rooms are super thin so you can easily hear your neighbors. Pools would be better if leaves are cleaned more often.
We stayed at an ocean view room right by the pool which was really convenient and nice. Loved both chlorine and salt water pools, each with a pool bar, large and relaxing. Easy access to the beach and free kayak/paddle board rental to enjoy, and their buffet food was great too. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. We stayed 4 nights at CC Beachfront Papagayo. We can’t say enough about this resort. We stayed in unit 303 across from one of the pools. The room is older, had wooden doors and cabinetry and tile floors. I believe this area was the original resort which was very nostalgic and we loved it. As an all inclusive there was no wanting since you have as much food and drink as you need. We basically had private servers. Thanks to Young Carlos and Reny for taking very good care of us! The dining experience was phenomenal! Buffet style was the style, but you have a variety of food to suit everyone’s tastes. We had traditional fare as well as sushi night and Italian night. You can reserve seating at Santa Rosa’s for a more private experience and a specialty menu. Also, you can order pizza and burgers for a snack outside of dining hours. There are three bars. The main bar at the restaurant and two swim up pool bars. The list of tropical drinks is amazing so try them all. As an older couple, there were many amenities that we didn’t use. The resort is kid and family friendly with a lot of things for the younger crowd. There is volleyball, kayaks, yard games, a movie and arcade room, a fire pit, gym and a really unique trampoline and climbing area. The kid friendly atmosphere was nice! We watched and enjoyed the families that we met. We only have one issue that could be better. Staying in room 303, we had guests in rooms on either side of us. We could hear their conversations.

We booked a master suite with a wonderful patio overlooking the pool area. The included kitchen was worthless as there were no dishes, utensils or cooking equipment. We prefer a more luxurious resort experience so would not stay here again.

My husband and I booked a nine day stay via Expedia at this boutique resort and paid for a partial oceam view 2 bed suite. The noise from the nearby sports bar was so loud, we could not sleep - even with first class ear plugs. In addition, the walls between units are so thin, we could clearly hear our neighbors conversations and even their snoring! Two nights of no sleep resulted in my becoming ill, so we had to change rooms. We asked for and were granted rooms as far from the sports bar as possible - the cheapest rooms at the resort with a single double bed. Finally, we could sleep. Unfortunately, the resort will not refund us the difference in price - almost $100 USD per night! This is unacceptable to us given the noise levels of the "upgraded" room almost ruined our trip and resulted in illness.Despite the noise levels, the staff are exceptional. They are friendly, hard working and try their best to make their guests happy.The food is good for a buffet style. Generally fresh, good variety and plentiful. Our favourite is the per cup made fresh Costa Rican drip coffee. A great way to start the day. The resort is aging, so some of the facilities and services are dated, can work intermittently, but are adequte. On a number of occasions the power went out to the resort and the water to our room stopped flowing. In all cases, however, these services were restored in a short time. This is definitely not a first class resort, but ok if satisfied with the basics.

This was a very cute boutique hotel. The staff were friendly. Kevin in the main dining, Larry at the pool bar, and the sweetest girl in the private dining. She is hoping to attend university and play soccer. The Master Suite was spacious and beautiful. Plenty of room and updated. There were no pots, pans or cups in the kitchen. The mini fridge was stocked on arrival but not restocked until the last day, despite daily attempts to have it refilled. We were given multiple excuses like oh they only get filled every other day, or we're waiting for the truck to come it comes today should be refill tomorrow or the night person doesn't have access to the stuff the day person will do it tomorrow but it never got done. The disappointing part was I took an excursion everyday so when I got back I was hoping that I would have cold drinks in my fridge since the pool bar closed at 5:00 p.m. and the dining hall had certain hours. The biggest negative I would say was definitely housekeeping outside of that the excursion crew Geo was fantastic The wait staff was friendly and fantastic The groundskeepers were working the bar attendance for fantastic everything was good except for housekeeping.

This is a must stay kinda property. Everything about it is perfect! the environment, food, rooms, location, the staff. I recommend this hotel to everyone looking for the unforgettable place to stay. A huge shout out to Anita the front desk agent who welcomed me and made me feel at home, to Evelyn my amazing housekeeper, Eric bartender number 1 who always knew what I wanted to drink ( Expresso Martini baby lol ), the chefs who came to my table to make sure I was enjoying my meals, the grounds staff who always had smiles on thier faces. It was truly Pura vida....

Everyone was so friendly… I actually felt like I was family to all of the staff at the resort. My only suggestion is to have additional fans throughout the entire eating area and around the bar.

I think CC Beach Front Papagayo resort is a gem. Staff are wonderful, polite and very customer service oriented. Daniela, Chef Cristian, Kendy, Jimena, Charo, Gabriela, and Victoria are outstanding. The tropical forest between the resort and the beach is a real treat with trail and a canopy. The beach is out of this world with still water and ver gentle waves.

Thank you to the entire team of CC beach front Papagayo. From the time we arrived to the time we left they made my mom and I feel pampered; food is great! And the entire establishment is clean. The entire team is super nice and care about small details. They are professional and caring specially this supervisor named Victoria she was so sweet and took care of us well. I really hope to be back soon my stay was awesome!

Beautiful Resort, Poor Reservation Experience Stayed May 7–13 at CC Beach Front Papagayo after flight delays made us miss our original May 6 arrival. The resort itself is stunning, the food is amazing, and the on-site staff — especially Christian, Kendy, Suzi, Luna, and Danny — are warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. But our experience was soured by how poorly the central reservation office handled our delay. Despite paying for 7 nights, we were denied the ability to shift our stay and were told we’d have to pay for an extra night just to get what we already paid for. One supervisor even said we “should be punished” for arriving late due to a flight delay — incredibly unprofessional. If you go, just be aware that while the staff at the resort are top-notch, their booking/reservation management is not.

I stayed at this beautiful resort the first week in July. From checking in to checking out I experienced the nothing but excellent service from all areas of the resort. I must mention that, Anita, who worked the front desk was not only accommodating but went way beyond. We had an unexpected situation come up at another location. My Nephew lost his deceased fathers Rolex watch. Due to Anitas persistent communicating with the other property(not related to The CC Beachfront) the watch was found and thankfully returned. Besides the watch situation SHE was unbelievable with handling every request i brought to her. Your resort is extremely lucky to have such a dedicated employee and I can wholeheartedly attest to that as I myself am in the hospitality business. Cant wait to return!

Very quiet boutique type resort with only 50 rooms. Beautiful grounds with massive trees for shade. Wonderful beach for getting in your 10,000 steps. This was our second visit and we will be back next year!

Our dream trip to Costa Rica was fantastic and highly recommend this resort. The service in the private dining room by Sebastian made our visit even more special and a dream. Location to the beach and the beach is amazing. Garden rooms are a little basic and dated but beds are comfy and very clean. This resort is private so not close to most tourist activities, airport or within walking to anything. Want to unwind and relax highly recommend a stay here but if you want to explore Pura Vida I recommend renting a car.

Activities for all ages included board games, billiard, ping pong, obstacle course on the tree, 2 huge swings, bonfire. This resort is great for families, couples, elderly and solo travelers. One area where the resort could use some improvement is its infrastructure. While everything was clean and well-maintained, some buildings and common areas felt a bit dated and in need of renovation. Great place for the value. Good location, clean, quiet and good service. The staff was very attentive. The food was good. It’s not an upscale resort but that is not what I paid for. Good place for families.
Great place for the value. Good location, clean, quiet and good service. The staff was very attentive. The food was good. It’s not an upscale resort but that is not what I paid for. Good place for families.

I loved this property and would definitely stay again if I visit this part of Costa Rica. The buffet menu changed every day so you could try different dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner. The restaurant had a set menu but the options were delicious. The staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, there’s A LOT of wildlife. In terms of entertainment on property (I stayed during the off season) there’s two pools that play music, a gym, a game room/volleyball net, and a pool table in the lobby. I would recommend booking an excursion for at least one of the days you’re there which can be done by AMSTAR who’s on the property or on the beach with another company.

The property was clean and the staff was very friendly and kind. The selections for the breakfast and lunch menu was a miss. The same thing everyday but dinner was always a hit. The selections and options was good. The iguanas roaming the property was a bit annoying. The room was kept clean and comfortable.

The resort is fine if your goal is to simply unwind and relax by the pool or beach. However, there’s not much in terms of entertainment or organized activities, so it may not be ideal for those looking for a more engaging or lively experience. Dining options are also quite limited—there's only one buffet and one à la carte restaurant, which is only open for dinner. Unlike other all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed at, room service was not available, which was a bit disappointing.

The property is beautiful. We walked on the beach every morning with coffee. The pools were nice and staff was very nice and attentive. A variety of food choices would have been nice. Breakfast didn’t change much. Lunch and dinner were ok. Costa Rica is amazing!!

La nourriture était excellente surtout au restaurant Santa Rosa (poisson, fruits de mer). Plage tranquille et idéale pour la marche. Personnel très aimable et serviable. Félicitations au barman Carlos, à Stephen (préposé aux chaises longues, serviettes et kayaks), à la serveuse Victoria, aux serveurs Roberto et Isaiah ainsi qu'au barman du buffet.

Stayed here in one of the suites with our infant. They provided a crib which was nice. It was hard having an infant with nap times because of the cleaners schedules (they tried to accommodate when they could). It was a beautiful, gated resort. Small but perfect size for our family. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. We stayed in June which was quiet but filled up on the weekend. Pools were kept clean, daily and the swim up bars were wonderful. There's a gate to walk out to the beach which they provided chairs on the beach if you wanted as well as kayaks. There's a gym and plenty of kids areas. The food was ok, as expected for an all inclusive. Breakfast had a variety for all, lunch was pretty standard (chicken/fish tenders, nacho bar, seemed like leftover hot food options), dinner rotated in what type so you're not necessarily getting authentic costa rican cuisine but it was good enough. They also had snack bar items that you can order from the pool bar which was nice. It was a jungle vibe but on the water. Would stay here again and recommend. We had perfect weather. Lots of boat excursions right outside our resort on the beach.
