Great location to see the main sights. Used the gym.and Haman. Nice rooms. Good 4 star hotel.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. It is a brilliant location for all the major sites - the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are a 5-10 minute walk away. Being so central but still having an outdoor pool is an unusual and good combination. The hotel spa facilities are available for all guests and staff are welcoming, the treatments cost extra.

I had a wonderful stay. I want to give a special thanks to the bellman Acuman, who went out of his way to always make is feel comfortable and helped with bag ect. The one concerning thing is if you can do some stairs then ask the hotel of the main floor elevator is fixed. Over the week I was there, they kept saying it was getting fixed but it never got fixed. So you have to do one flight of stairs to get to lobby. Great location and as a result many of the surrounding streets are closed during day. Hotel is a golf cart that can help pick you up from down the hill when you arrive. They don’t tell you that but the service is there. Lots of stuff to do within walking distance such as the blue and Sophia mosque. Lots of food options (all Turkish). Overall, great stay

Stayed for 5 nights together with my 17year-old daughter, first-time sightseeing tour in Istanbul. Wonderful hotel, amazing food, helpful staff, clean, best possible location for sightseeing and public transport...has a swimming pool, sauna, and steam room - all included, our room was quiet, no complains... can certainly recommend as a great family-friendly hotel.

A great location to visit all the sites in the Old Town of Istanbul! The elevators were odd in the entry point for our rooms required going up a flight of stairs. The concierge was very helpful, especially as we didn’t speak Turkish.

Need to be a bit more accomodating. Had to wait 5 hours to get a room after a long flight. Food in restaurant was good. Coffee not so much. Good location. Room and bathroom adequate. Pool too small and crowded for swimming. Internet slow.

Great hotel. Location perfect for sightseeing and getting around the city. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff really helpful and the pool was great to relax by after busy days in Istanbul

I’m not sure how this can be considered to be a 5-star hotel. The whole place needs to be refurbished. Rooms and common areas are all extremely tired and very outdated (80’s decor), everything very worn. Tea and coffee facilities with paper cups!?! Breakfast ok but poorly set up. Difficult to move around serving counters, with staff and cleaners in the way. No servers asking what you’d like (cooked breakfast possible). My room faced what looked like a building site. Bathroom needs upgrading, dirty grout on tiles, shower head clogged up with limescale so squirting all over the place. Unsightly parts of room/bathroom covered up with picture frames or metal cover…. Usual loose toilet roll holder on wall, taps dirty and limescaled, 5 star it is not! Good location and ok pool, spa outdated and shabby though.

Property was in a convenient and great location. Room bathroom was smelly and not clean. And not worth what I paid for it.

Super dirty rooms overall, sheets, tables, bathroom, cruise size bathroom, no one single hook for towels, poor A/C not sound proof youbcan hear everything outside, the only good thing about this hotel is location everything else 1/10 NOT RECOMMENDED

I really loved the location & the staff. The only thing I did not like was the comforters were dirty with stains on them. Even though housekeeping would come daily the stains were still there meaning they did not change them. 😞however our trip was fabulous & I would stay there again just pls for future plz change the bedding. Thx

Medium service minded staff with reception being all time low. Good breakfast with nice selection, but very crowded and loudly. Cleaning in room and bathroom especially not satisfying.

Les chambres ne sont pas propres, Le ménage est bâclé. Pendant plusieurs jours, le personnel ne passait pas l’aspirateur, nous avons dû demander à la personne peu aimable de revenir faire le ménage. Le pire est la piscine: les transats sont cassés, les matelas degeulasses totalement tachés sans protection, les sols sont très sales,… il y’a de la vase dans toutes les évacuations autour de la piscine. Enfin, cet établissement n’est pas adapté aux personnes à mobilité réduite … nous devions impérativement prendre les escaliers pour rejoindre l’ascenseur… un ascenseur sombre étroit …

Clean room and amenities.

The rooms were in bad condition such as damaged floor tiles, dirty curtains and Bed headboard with blood marks and buggers. The shower door was damaged. The shower door was damaged and hanging and was not safe. The room entry door lock did not work the first day.l and as a result our room was unlocked while we were out. The breakfast had many options but the only fresh item was the egg made in order among more than 20 dishes.

Amazing location in key historic sites and grand bazaar. Lots of restaurants and friendly crowds. Hotel is a little run down and the walls are paper thin affording all kinds of noise.

Extremely Disappointing – Definitely Not a 5-Star Hotel We stayed for two nights and honestly couldn’t wait to leave. The room was tiny, uncomfortably hot, and smelled of sewage. The air conditioning was completely useless—blowing out hot air in the middle of a very hot country. To make matters worse, our window faced directly into nearby residential flats, and we actually saw someone watching us while we were getting changed. It felt intrusive, unsafe, and completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 5-star. We raised these issues with reception, but the staff were rude and uninterested. Instead of trying to help, they made lazy excuses, claiming the hotel is a historical monument and nothing could be done. That’s not a valid reason for failing to provide basic comfort, privacy, or decency. A refurbishment or proper room layout is still possible—they just didn’t care. Breakfast was also a complete disaster. The area was severely understaffed, tables left dirty, food not replenished, and flies were hovering around or even inside some of the dishes. There was no coffee available for over an hour. The food was bland, limited, and cheap—like something from a budget 2-star motel. This hotel is all show and no substance. At best, it deserves 2 stars. Don’t waste your money—you’ve been warned.

We loved our stay at this property. Reviews had me worried but we ended up staying in 2 nights as part of a tour then 2 nights in a family garden suite. All the rooms were great, we loved the patio of the garden suite that also had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a living room. The hotel was in a super convenient area, walkable to all major attractions. The staff went out of their way to accommodate guests and the breakfast had tonnes of options. A great hotel in Istanbul.

Great Hotel to stay it if you are planning on seeing Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and surrounding sites. Staff was very helpful and the room was spotless upon arrival. Would highly recommend if you are having a short stay. Due to the room size, I would not recommend staying for an extended duration but other than that it was excellent.

It was in a good location. Although the room we had, had a HUGE pole in the middle of the room which made it inconvenient and hard to move around . When asked if we could move, they said no

The location is very good, walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia in less than 10 minutes. It is also closed to the tram station. Many restaurants next to the hotel, but they server almost all the same foods. Property is good. Room is on the small size for standard room. The shampoo dispenser is broken and they did not fix it after I told them for the 4 days that I stayed there. The AC does not seem to be that cool. Overall, it is OK but have room for improvements.

The hotel was advertised as 5-star but the hotel was really not 5-star standard, more like a 3 or 4 at best. The rooms are poorly designed, there is very little space around the bed, there isn’t a proper desk or chair if you want to work from the room. The hotel was noisy, we were woken up at midnight by the guests above us being really loud. The television is very old and has no hdmi connection, reception told us that guests ask for this all the time but they haven’t bothered to upgrade the televisions. The bathrooms look quite worn and could do with an upgrade. Generally just low quality for the price paid. Expected a lot more and wouldn’t stay again.

We arrived using the airport transfer at the hotel at around 6:00 AM. I had discussed our arrival time in advance and said we would need an early check in which was confirmed. But when we arrived, we realised that this was not passed on. The staff kept promising it will be soon and we had stay at the lounge for hours before deciding to go out sight seeing without freshening up. The staff at the time of checking in were extremely rude, they were very busy but thats no excuse to be rude to a family who have been given false promises by their own team. It was also my daughter's 18th birthday. Needless to say they ruined it for her. But we were able to salvage a little bit by taking her out in the evening. Additionally, we had booked a room with a Queen bed and a single, instead we were given 3 singles ! The air conditioner wouldnt work and after calling multiple times they switched it on and minutes later somebody came in saying they were there to fix it - almost to say that we had kicked up a fuss when the air conditioner was working and the staff made us feel embarassed and silly. I wouldnt recommend the hotel at all, the only thing going for the hotel is its location, but despite that i wouldnt stay there ever again !

Front desk girl with braids in her hair was terrible. She doesn’t smile, doesn’t seem like she wants to help guests. Asked her for a wall adapter, she told me to go buy one?! Asked “you guys don’t have any?” She then opened a drawer FULL of them and gave me one. Why? Why are you purposely making guests stay difficult? On top of that, the front desk people are trained to lie (yes I say lie) to every guest by saying “sorry we don’t have an extra key card right now, come back tmrw” which at first I thought was weird until I came back next day and was told same thing. I forcefully asked for an extra key card for the room. Heard others ask for one upon check in only to be told same thing. Pool is very tiny; only about 10 tanning beds and about 5-6 chairs. Went down at 10:10 am (opens at 10am) only to find people put their towels/belongings on the beds to reserve them while they ate breakfast etc. That was super annoying. Also, the view from the room was terrible. You either get a view of the “garden” which is just the sitting area in between the hotel lobby and the pool or at the building across the hotel which is old and nasty. Also, room was very small; smallest of the 3 rooms I have stayed in at 3 different hotels during my stay in Turkey (all being 2 twin bed basic rooms). The only good part of this hotel was location, very close to Hagia Sophia Mosque, the Blue Mosque, train station, and shopping/food districts.

It’s beautiful, you’ll find everything around it within walking distance, service is excellent but it will be easier if staff spoke more English, overall it was a very good experience.

The guest relations, reception team and housekeeping are 2nd to none. They were very welcoming, helpful and make sure that your stay is perfect. Special thanks to Hikmet and Samet who came to my rescue when I needed help and they really are a credit to the hotel. We had to move rooms three times in the space of a 2 night stay due to rodents in the walls. The majority of the staff were rude and lacked understanding. The breakfast contained no information about the ingredients so if you have an allergy it is not safe to eat there. The staff were unable to communicate the ingredients in the food. The buffet selection was generally poor. Tables and cutlery were dirty, handrails were sticky. Overall unhygienic and the majority of the staff lack hospitality. We had a good hospitality from Emily and the night manager on the 29th sept who moved us room whereas the reception person named Eid provided incorrect information by stating there were no rooms available and we would have to stay in a room with rodents. The hotel manager explained that he will follow up regarding our complaints but there were no follow ups. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

No beans, fried egg etc. I hated the breakfast every morning such a lack of choice. This hotel is not 5 star! At best 3-4 and I’ve only given that because of the location is the best for historical sites. Check out was a joke! No bye, thank you or anything just took my room Card and that was it.

We had a wonderful stay at Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel. The location is absolutely unbeatable — just steps away from iconic landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. It made exploring the historic heart of Istanbul so easy and enjoyable. The staff was incredibly warm, helpful, and professional from the moment we arrived. They helped us with local tips, transport, and even arranged a smooth airport transfer. The hotel itself is elegant and comfortable, with beautiful Ottoman-style decor and a peaceful garden area that's perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast spread was generous, fresh, and offered plenty of variety each morning. A special mention for the little touches — welcome drinks, evening tea, and the warm hospitality that made our stay feel truly special. Checking was poor we emailed to say we were arriving on an early flight 9am would it be possible to have an earlier checking upon arrival the lady at reception was very unhelpful the room wouldn’t be ready till 2pm as that was checkin no smiling we came back at 1.30pm hoping it might be ready but no 2pm is check in no effort was made to accommodate room was not ready till 2.20pm Location was good overall average hotel

We booked 3 rooms in the Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel (Istanbul) based on a family review; and needless to say, we were not disappointed with our stay there too. We had a really warm welcome when we first got there, and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional in every aspect all the way to the end of our stay, We would also like to extend our many thanks to the following staff who made our trip exceptional: Mohammed Reza (Captain), Daminda Arachchi (Waiter), Muhammet Yusuf (Bellboy), Ali Yilmaz (Bellboy) and Dolphine (Room service staff). 10/10 for the stay and experience and we will definitely be passing on our personal recommendations to our family.

Sura hotel was amazing! The hotel was so homely & comfortable. It was so clean, modern, high quality hotel. The hotel management & staff were so friendly, lovely & helpful. They really looked after us, like we were family! The standout people at the hotel were: Hassan the manager was terrific, he sorted out minor issues for us with a click of his finger! Mohammed nadeer & uurgh were a great management team. Mohammed Ali Abbasi at the food service & bar was absolutely amazing! He & his colleagues Yasin & Barut really served us with a 5 star service at all times. Professional polite & extemely caring people. Yusuf at the reception was so helpful at all times, always smiling and welcoming with the most lovely greetings at all Times. He was very attentive & helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. The management team & staff really look after you. As a bonus, the hotel is located in the best possible place, near all the main attractions & transport links. Making your stay 10/10. Big shoutout to Hassan, Mohammed Nadeer, Urrgh, Abdul Kadar, Yasin, Barut & especially Yusuf & Mohammed Ali Abbasi who really made our stay absolutely amazing. Best location of the city.

Great four days spent Sura hotel. Location is great with tram stop at the end of the street and great restaurants close. Breakfast is good.

The hotel is perfectly set within 5 minutes from Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque. Plenty of restaurants around the property, as well as activities (e.g. Hop on/Hop off bus). It’s near Sultanahmet Square, about 10 minutes from the Grand Bazaar. The property itself is very cute and has a feeling of an art piece of some sort. Staff are helpful, friendly, eager to help. I would recommend this property.

The hotel was in the perfect location within walking distance to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, etc. The street where the hotel is located was full of restaurants, very pretty at night with all the lights and very inviting with all the smells. The hotel staff all professional, well spoken and extremely helpful. The hotel amenities were excellent, very comfortable beds and beautiful clean sheets with fluffy pillows. We were very happy with our short stay there, will definitely choose this place again in the future.

Great location, this hotel is within walking distance from Sultanahmet Square where Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque are located. The Big Bus departs from this square as well, as everything seems to start from this location. The staff and premises were fantastic, and there are restaurants everywhere around the hotel. It is a great hotel to stay at, especially if it is someone's first time in this Magnificent city of Istanbul.

Everything was wonderful except breakfast. The breakfast buffet was monotonous, with just a lot of bread and fruit and no meat. The location was perfect, and the pool, though small, was nice. And most importantly, the hotel staff, especially the doorman, were incredibly helpful.

There were many things to like about this hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. We chose to have the buffet breakfast at the hotel which gave us the option to have breakfast on a ground floor restaurant near the lobby, or on a top floor restaurant across the street at an affiliated hotel. We ate breakfast at both place but we loved the view from the top floor restaurant. We could see the Blue Mosque and part of the Egyptian obelisk only a couple of blocks away as well as the straits that connects the Black Sea with the Mediterranean. Our servers (Sezgin, Daminda, Trem?, and others) made omelettes to order and the variety of options was excellent. We had cappuccinos and teas to our hearts delight. My wife loved the salep (hot tea with boiled milk). I was surprised to see how safe it felt throughout the whole Old City even when we were out past midnight. The restaurants around the hotel were excellent. One even had a Michelin rating (next door) but we didn't try that one. We had one meal at a restaurant across from the hotel and our tour guide helped us order some great Turkish food. Highly recommend it and we will return with family.

There was no breakfast menu.

A nice hotel in a great location - we walked to pretty much all the site we wanted to see from here. The room as functional and clean, a little on the small side but fine for us. The facilities are good. The service varied between excellent and grumpy. I personally would avoid the breakfast as it is expensive for what it is and there's a lot of choice nearby.
