Our stay at Shangri-La The Shard, London was truly unforgettable. The room was gorgeous with incredible views, and every detail was perfect. We loved the gym, spa, pool, and the food—everything exceeded expectations. The staff were outstanding—kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The location is also unbeatable, with easy access to public transport and walkable to so much of the city. One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

It is our second time to stay at shangril London and it was a perfect choice for celebrating my husbands birthday. The staff were great and thank you the celebration cake and card and bday greetings for my husband. We had an excellent stay we loved our upgraded corner room with city views and complimentary breakfast. We did however missed using the spa as it was under maintenance but we were assured they will provide us sky pass at a convenient time at some point this year. We love the breakfast choices and the views we highly recommend this hotel.

The big thing about this hotel are the views. Whether its from your room, the lobby, one of the 2 bars or the restaurant, the views are terrific and are what you are paying for. Yes the hotel is now 10 years old and is showing its age in a few places (the odd thing here and there did not work) but you would forgive it anything. And the prices mean that you will be tested for forgiveness. 50 quid for a cocktail is fighting talk. And I thought the "discretionary room cleaning" tip of 40 a day a bit sharp. But treats never seem to come cheap.

Excellent all round hotel. The one thing i did notice at breakfast was the inconsistent service from some members of staff. Although they were all very professional, some were less inspired than others. Gong bar was absolutely amazing. Special thanks to Holly who was an absolutely excellent, kind and professional host. The pool and sauna was well maintained and a lovely place to unwind.

The staff here was amazing, the room and hotel itself could use some updating. The cushions on all seats in the restaurants and lounges need to be deep cleaned or replaced. The offerings at the in house restaurant could be better. The view was spectacular but it definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

Great location. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast buffet was very nice. Room was clean and bright. Bathrooms were modern and luxurious. Really enjoyed our stay.

Although it is a beautiful property, the furniture, walls, carpet, etc are worn, chipped, and seriously need an update. The decorator is average, we were there during its beautifully decorated woodsy/forest theme. Which was stunning and fantastic. But then they switched it to the hotel’s 10 year anniversary with cheesy paper fans, clouds and the pillows were cheap Chinese pillow covering that I didn’t even buy to decorate on my yacht because they looked cheap. I would have thought for a 10 year anniversary it would have outdone the woodsy theme decor prior. The breakfast was adequate but service for coffee and beverage was so slow. We would be half way through finishing our first plate before getting a simple black coffee and orange juice. Would I stay there again… probably not, but I guess I’ve become jaded over hospitality and white glove service after staying at the Josun Palace and Signiel in Seoul, Korea.

Warm welcome. Efficient check-in. Spacious “City View” room. Shame the tv is in front of the view! Comfortable bed and bedding. Our room was on a corner and the room was overlooked by the room next door and the room above us. To gain privacy we had to lower the blinds which meant the view we paid highly for was partially obscured- odd design fault! Delicious breakfast with extensive options. Pleasant, friendly service throughout the hotel.

Terrible service from check in onwards. Constant unnecessary interruptions. Everything we asked for was a burden to the staff. Prices has gone up, decor, service and friendliness has gone down. Many cheaper and frankly much better hotels now. 5 years ago it was something not anymore

We had a wonderful time and the staff were amazing. We had a little issue with some kind of maintenance work happing in a room above us and they gave us a different room as soon as we told them. Service was fantastic

We were very grateful to Joan Tam at the reception who had kindly arranged to change our room the next day. When we came back the next day, our luggage had been moved from previous room to our new room. We had really enjoyed our stay in our second room. Excellent all round hotel. The one thing i did notice at breakfast was the inconsistent service from some members of staff. Although they were all very professional, some were less inspired than others. Gong bar was absolutely amazing. Special thanks to Holly who was an absolutely excellent, kind and professional host. The pool and sauna was well maintained and a lovely place to unwind.

Phenomenal property and experience! I booked the Shangri-La for my birthday trip because of the exceptional views, and they did not disappoint! The service at this hotel is unparalleled and the best I've ever experienced. The breakfast every morning was sensational and the French toast was the most delicious I have ever had. A huge shout out to Jessica, the duty manager who went out of her way to accommodate me and made my stay unforgettable! It’s luxury hotel and your definitely paying for the service and luxury. They definitely exceeded all service expectations. I will say I did need a late checkout which they unfortunately weren’t able to accommodate. I know if I booked through Amex travel however I would have got a 4pm checkout. Oh and I definitely recommend taking the train to Gatwick, even if you have a lot of bags as long as you have the people. The drive is crazy long. Also the drop off is not convenient vs the train drops you right off on the same floor as check in. Ting is overrated. But there are great restaurant options close by. Hawksmoor is a must for steak lovers! I will note, it is not convenient if you are trying to shop on bond street/etc. however there are other options.

The views from every part of the hotel were great! From the time we arrived until the time we left, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very nice and comfortable! The location was great for local food and the train station was directly below the hotel which made getting around town very easy.

Fantastic hotel with unmatched views of London. This is now my goto hotel when in London. It is conveniently located right above the London bridge station so you can easily catch the tube or national rail.

Overpriced breakfast buffet - £42 a head without service charge and they’re serving Hovis bread and juices from concentrate. I’d expect more from a buffet of that price. Room was nice, but didn’t feel very luxurious apart from the view. Just looked like a standard 3* hotel room. Staff were lovely and attentive, but this hotel is not worth the price you pay. I’ve stayed in other 5* hotels that are faaaar nice.

Excellent hotel with fabulous views of the city of London from all rooms. Also beautiful infinity swimming pool. Expensive but worth the price. However breakfast was also expensive but dreadful. The supposedly hot breakfast was stone cold served on cold plates and so not edible. The croissant was so hard it could not be cut. When asked if everything was alright on check out I fedback that the breakfast was inedible, the receptionist apologised but did not refund the cost. So advice is do not eat in the Ping restaurant at Shangri-La

Beautiful relaxing experience in a top London city hotel in the sky. Staff all very attentive and friendly. Breakfast & dinner views unrivalled as are the view from Your room and even your bath & shower! Totally recommend. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience from start to finish

Extra charge for an omelette!! We booked a room with a great B&B deal through Expedia. The room was great, bathroom exceptional sonno complaints which there shouldn't be at this standard of hotel. However in the common parts some issues, and that omelette! Not enough lifts considering reception is on floor 35 (only 2 lifts). We have stayed in Shangri La hotels and similar all over the world and never been told that you can have poached, boiled or fried eggs as part of the breakfast (which is normal) but being told there's a charge for an omelette is disgraceful when one considers the cost for a room etc. at this hotel. Finally the area outside Ting restaurant stunk of fish. Unforgivable in a 5 star property. I certainly won't eat in that restaurant until they sortboutvthe extraction.

My wife and I had the opportunity to stay for 4 nights at the Shanghai-La, The Shard in London, and the experience was truly remarkable. The hotel was stunning. The hotel staff were incredible. We were even upgraded to an Iconic King Room with City View for which we were truly grateful. The view from the room was simply breathtaking, absolutely stunning. I had an amazing three-night stay at this hotel and it was a great experience. It was very clean and luxurious. It was the quietest room I’ve ever stayed in; there was no noise from the corridors, and the air conditioning was super quiet. The views from the room were stunning and the binoculars provided were a great touch, which we used every day for ages looking at the many landmarks. The Sauna and pool on level 52 are a must, and we were lucky enough to book a time when it was empty. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Given the price, I expected a real treat, but the cooked food was dried out and shriveled from the hot plates. I would suggest that, since guests have to order their eggs through the server, they should offer a plated breakfast to keep the food fresh. The juices and fruit were nice, so we ended up sticking to those. That said it didn't ruin our stay and we would definitely stay again.
