Wingate by Wyndham Somerset

Check in was horrible. Nobody at front desk. Supposed to ring bell and look into a camera. Did that for over 15 min, as well as called a customer service phone number. Parking lot had not been plowed after PA received about 6" of snow. Good thing I had a 4-wheel drive vehicle, which I needed.

Property driveway and parking area not plowed after winter storm earlier in the day, and still not plowed the next morning. My car was stuck in the driveway. No staff at the front desk in the morning. I found a snow shovel in the entrance and dug unsuccessfully for an hour until a random passing snowplow (not contracted with the motel) took pity on me, cleared a path, and the driver helped me push my car out. Appalling.

Elevatpr areas need cleaned and refreshed. Room was freezing until i turned yhe heat on, hallways remained cold. No security to access the interior of building and hallways.

Building was old. Slow loud elevator. Flat pillows. No one at the front desk 1/2 the time. Old lighting. I love Wingate properties and frequently stay in them but this was a 1/2 baked conversion from another property. Elevator permit posted is also out of date.

The internet/WiFi was not working. Could not get a paper receipt at check out.

The grass needed cut. I did like where we could park our car at. Very good idea. There was a lot of places to go get something to eat near by. We would stay there again in the future.

The back glass door to the hotel was propped open from the parking area, which is unsafe. The curtain on the window was ripped, and breakfast service was not available even though all the equipment was there. The grass outside the hotel looked like it had not been mowed in months. I felt like I was in Schitt's Creek. EW DAVID!

Very nice staff, but awful hotel. Former Motel 6? Iron burn on the carpet, torn curtain, uneven/unsafe bathroom tile, horrible pillows. Terrible continental breakfast with spoiled milk. Parking under the hotel where the door was open with access to the elevator at all times for anyone wandering through; no need to go through the lobby! We chose it for the Wyndham name; I won’t make that mistake again.

Older property questionable internet unable to reach desk from room phone and no ice machine on 2nd floor. Go elsewhere.

Place smelled like pesticides. Smoke prevalent everywhere except the room. Breakfast was terrible. Elevator out of order.

The room was a little dirty. The shower curtain had a huge rust stains. The breakfast area was dirty, counters filthy. Came in late to check in and took forever for someone to show up at the front desk. Finally had to call then hotel to get someone to come down.

It was safe, but the property was not kept up, the rooms were not all that clean. I should have not had high expectations because it was very inexpensive. You do get what you pay for here.

The hot water wasn’t working. The shower and the shower curtains were dirty. The beds and the beddings smelled musty. Place isn’t clean at all.

Dirty glove and someone’s dirty sock on the air unit when I pulled back the curtains. Shower had someone’s hair from shaving their legs all over one shower wall and brown scum on the wall. Hot water was a mere drizzle in the shower. Bedding smelled very stale. No one at front desk to share concerns with on check out.

The room was unacceptable. Towels were clean and hung up however they were not suitable for shop rags. the sheets, blankets etc. were washed but had stains. The room was musty and did not smell good. We did end up not staying and were refunded for the room.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. I have never left a review for a hotel, but this one absolutely needs a review!! Sheets were stained and had holes. Pillow cases had makeup from the previous person, so obviously not washed. The place stunk, the lamps were broken. The sink in the bathroom did not drain. We also did not have to provide any identification when checking in, which makes me wonder what types of people they are renting to. Place should be condemned...

Very dirty, everything had to go and buy stuff to put on top of bed and pillows. Was afraid to even take our shoes off inside the room. And mold was in the AC unit and bathroom, the sink was leaking on the floor no towels in room at all. And lights didnt work.

The pros: The front desk person was great, but I don't know their name. The beds and pillows were comfy. The cons: The room and bathroom were dirty. There was garbage on the floor, stains in the carpet, hair on the bathroom floor. The hotel needs a major overhaul.

We did not sleep. The mattress was awful. There were damage marks that had been plastered over but not painted on several areas of the wall. It was a king room but there was only 1 recliner. No sofa or second recliner. The desk chair was so lopsided I was afraid the whole thing would tip over.

The room was fine, though the TV was offline and had to get a young lady to fix that. Breakfast was pretty sparse, and lighting in breakfast room was bad. There was nobody at the front desk when I tried to check in. This place is in transition, so you've been warned!

The heating unit didn’t work. The hair dryer didn’t work either.

Despite saying it’s a smoke-free environment, our room reeked of smoke. Housekeepers should have noticed this. Also, the desk is unmanned. It took at least 10 for someone to come to check us in.

The night manager assured us we wouldn't hear traffic she was mistaken or... otherwise the stay was as we hoped...a place to sleep enroute.

Property was clean and pleasant, but outdated looking. However, for the money, it was just what I needed for a one night stay.

Problems in the bathroom problems with the microwave

No one was there to greet us. After an 8. Hour drive and ringing the bell several times, a man in worn out jeans and a shirt gave us our door cards. Didn't ask for my ID or anything. 2 towels in the room.

The manager (John) bent over backwards to help me with a problem with Hotels.com. Earned himself a loyal customer.

Check in staff very nice.

No one was manning the desk. Client before me had been waiting 35 minutes. I finally found my key behind the desk on a sticky note with my name. The office was littered with trash and boxes. Wont stay at this place again

I am greatly disappointed and very dissatisfied. From the moment I arrived at Check-in to when I checked out. It was a completely horrible stay to say the least. I walked into the lobby and it was dark and no one was at the front desk. I had to call a number and about 10 minutes later a woman shows up dressed in a hoodie and jeans no name tag; and very unprofessional. Hands me my room keys. I get to my room and my key didn’t work. I had to call the same number and the same lady shows up about 5 mins later with another key that worked. Get into my room which smelled like smoke enen though it’s signage indicate it’s a non-smoking room and the pillow cases had makeup or something on them. I brought my own with me though thankfully. The bathroom mirror had a heavy film all over it.(likely smoke film) which I wiped down. The mattress had springs ok’ing through it and was very lumpy and uncomfortable. The comforter was only a duvet comforter which was wrapped in a white sheet. When I pulled the sheet away, the comforter was yellow and dirty looking. )had my own blankets too. The door from the parking lot into the building was literally non existent! No door at all. The halls and floors were dirty and had nothing on them. I was quite fearful. When I checked out and went for the free breakfast, again no one at the front desk to even speak too and I wasn’t calling that number again! So I left my key in a tray on the dirty desk and left. I won’t ever stay there nor recommend

Hotel was quiet even though it was completely booked. Pet friendly. But i had an issue with check out. Nobody at the counter. After waiting a little some helped me by speaker

I have stayed at other Wyndham properties before and therefore expected a particular standard. This hotel is run down - the elevator inspection paperwork was dated from 2018. I arrived late at the location, and an employee came to check me in. At the front desk there was a sign saying that they were short staffed and therefore no breakfast would be available. I suspect that my sheets were not clean - but it was late and I had no other option. I would not stay here again. There are better options in Somerset.

Convenient to restaurants and points of interest

Place is a dump in a very depressed area.

Staff is great. Stop is so convenient off and on 70.

Lots of places to go eat, really close .

Room was clean & the staff was limited but friendly. Off season so no breakfast. Great value for the cost and easy off highway

Overall nice stay. The price was great, location is convenient to needs. The staff was friendly and offered assistance if needed. Room very clean and comfortable.

1) Despite the listing saying “Free Breakfast”, there was no free breakfast. 2) Bathroom light didn’t work. Tried to call front desk, but no answer. Just dealt with dark bathroom. 3) Nightstand had dried liquid on it. Clearly not cleaned. 4) Outlet cover broken and exposes wires from outlet. Simple fix, but hotel chose to ignore it. This hotel is the epitome of “you get what you pay for”. It is old, not very clean, no breakfast, and the beds are uncomfortable. That said, I paid $55/night, so maybe I shouldnt be surprised.

This was an unusual stay. The first 2 nights, we were the only people staying in the motel. The room was clean and served its purpose. There was some nasty coffee in the morning, but no other type of breakfast. There were a few rooms on the 2nd floor that had the doors propped open. It didn't look like anyone was staying in them but sometimes the room lights were on other times off. It did have a kind of creep factor.

The hotel was a great price for what we got only thing that was disappointing when we got there there is no free breakfast which was what I was looking for with getting a hotel for 3 nights. It said on this site there was with a nice picture of it but it was closed the whole time due to short staff. Still a nice place for the price.
