Cute little lodge with cabins. Room was just what we needed for the night - bed, tv, ac, warm showers, coffee and mini fridge. Slight downfall is the room(s) have a sloped ceiling which we bummed our heads on a few times while trying to maneuver around the bed. But other than that, the place is super clean and cozy. Definitely will stay here again.

I stayed in the lake view cabin and was very impressed with cleanliness, the amenities, and the cabin itself was very nice. Staff was very pleasant and would definitely go again.

Very nice place to stay. The cafe is very cute but was a bit surprised when they did not offer bacon or sausage for breakfast and the belgian waffle was not as expected. Service was excellent!

Cozy Lodge with Stunning Views and a Rich History We stayed in the #1 McGee Canyon room at McGee Creek Lodge, and it was such an amazing experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful rustic-modern touches that made it feel both cozy and stylish. I especially loved the cute electric fireplace and the fact that all the furniture was so comfortable—it was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Our medium dog’s crate fit perfectly in the room, and the ground-floor access made it super easy to take her on walks outside. Plus, the views from the windows were absolutely breathtaking. Beyond the comfort of the room, there’s something truly special about this lodge. It’s not just a beautiful place to stay—it has a story. The lodge itself was built in 1929 by State Senator Karl Keough, and you can feel that history when you’re there. It’s incredible to think of all the people who have passed through this spot over the years, from pioneer families to travelers seeking the same peace and beauty that we enjoyed. The staff here are wonderful—super friendly and warm, which made the stay even better. It’s clear they care about this place and the people who visit. The location was great for us—it’s just a short drive to Mammoth Village and Bishop, where you’ll find plenty of dining and shopping options I’ll definitely be coming back.

I decided at the last minute to attend a family function over the 4th. I have stayed at McGee previously, last in 2018. I was able to secure room #3 for the two days I would be attending. The property has been upgraded substantially, and the bathroom, tiny as it was, was very clean. Beds have been upgraded from full to Queen. Due to the fact the room is on the second floor, and the design has gabled windows, there is a slanting roofline that impinges on the room, and I smacked my head three times attempting to maneuver around the room. If and when I return, I will secure a cabin or a room without gabled windows. Otherwise, the property is fine.

The rooms were nicely updated and decorated. The staff was very helpful; however, we had major issues with our air conditioning not functioning and putting off hot air during our stay making our room 87F in late april / early May. They tried to fix it and did offer that we could move to a different room after two nights of issues. It’s in a great walkable area.

Great place. Large rooms in a beautiful area. A nice option when visiting Mammoth and wanting to avoid the crowds. I did somehow get locked out of my room and it took an hour to regain access. But, I'd stay there again.

Cozy Lodge with Stunning Views and a Rich History We stayed in the #1 McGee Canyon room at McGee Creek Lodge, and it was such an amazing experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful rustic-modern touches that made it feel both cozy and stylish. I especially loved the cute electric fireplace and the fact that all the furniture was so comfortable—it was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Our medium dog’s crate fit perfectly in the room, and the ground-floor access made it super easy to take her on walks outside. Plus, the views from the windows were absolutely breathtaking. Beyond the comfort of the room, there’s something truly special about this lodge. It’s not just a beautiful place to stay—it has a story. I stayed in the lake view cabin and was very impressed with cleanliness, the amenities, and the cabin itself was very nice. Staff was very pleasant and would definitely go again.

Great place. Large rooms in a beautiful area. A nice option when visiting Mammoth and wanting to avoid the crowds. I did somehow get locked out of my room and it took an hour to regain access. But, I'd stay there again.

Very cute and clean!! Gorgeous views. My only complaint was no soap, possibly an oversight? But we really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.

Very nice place to stay. The cafe is very cute but was a bit surprised when they did not offer bacon or sausage for breakfast and the belgian waffle was not as expected. Service was excellent!

We enjoyed our stay and the 2nd floor lodge room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The drawback is no balcony or dedicated outdoor space to enjoy the surroundings and cool weather. The spot we thought we found was meant for the cabins and their assigned hot tub/spa. Also, for the price being paid, it would be nice if ice was provided. We had to buy ice for almost $6.00 per bag. We weren’t packing our ice chest just needed some for our beverages. We enjoyed a meal at the cafe (dinner), but it only serves dinner Friday & Saturday. We would stay again but only if we could stay in a cabin or studio.

Our room was wonderfully appointed and looked great. The furnishings were in great shape. The bathroom was delightful with a large walk-in shower and cute, spacious closet. After a couple of days of drabby motel rooms, this gem was most welcome and provided a welcome jump in our stay for one night.
