DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill Philadelphia

My room door appeared to be previously pried into or the door kicked in for some reason. The door jam was marred, the lock was exposed from the outside and the inside safety latch was broke and hanging off the wall and inoperable.

Rooms were clean, but a bit worn. I believe they charged extra for added visitors since I had 2 rooms for 6 people, but only had 4 towels. No free coffee in the lobby, had to wait quite a while until someone showed up to man the counter. Rooms were very noisy with mechanical sounds of water running and hvac - over 60db at night. Very nice view on the river side, but I would try some where else given a choice.

The room was fine but outdated and you couldn't adjust the heat to air conditioning yourself; someone had to come up and handle that for you. It happened to be extremely warm out last week when we stayed there. The Staff were pleasant.

Very clean and everything was in working order.

I had an okay stay at this property. There definitely were a few things that kept me from giving a rave review; there was some obvious decay throughout the property (random ceiling tiles in the public spaces were patched to presumably fix leaks) and it seemed generally a bit outdated. Namely, there were just not enough staff to accomodate everyone’s needs! When I arrived I waited almost 15 minutes to get checked in because there was one person working the front desk with a long line, and the poor (singular) engineer was running around manually fixing everyone’s AC units to make it switch from heat to AC. The gym was also BURNING up - I assume from this same issue where they have to manually switch everything from heat to cool. Everyone I met there was kind and helpful, but it did seem like staff were overwhelmed and that does make an impact on the stay. Do better, Hilton.
