Sir-Whelks-A lot was a true delight for my husband and my getaway to Chincoteague. The property owner was so easy to communicate with and had everything ready for us to enjoy. It was such a value added that they provided kayaks which we enjoyed on two separate outing. Bikes were also available. The house was clean and comfortable and the decor was so fun! The location was perfect. We walked to shops and restaurants for breakfast and dinner. The beaches and surrounding areas are so beautiful. Thank you so much for a great stay!

This is a perfect beach house, close to town, easy drive to the beach and walking distance to many attractions. The house has character and is comfortable. The host is responsive to any need and the fact that they supply bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, 4 kayaks and even a folding beach wagon makes the whole experience even better. I highly recommend Sir-Whelks-a-lot to anyone looking for a great vacation cottage on Chincoteague. Thank you to the host and owner for sharing their beautiful, perfect beach house.

We had a great time at Sir Whelk-A-Lot! It was the perfect little cottage for our family of 6 and we will definitely come back!Our older boys really enjoyed having their own space upstairs, although you have to be really careful on the short, steep, carpeted stairs to the room. We had several slips when coming down. The location is great! Lots of stuff in town was within walking distance and the fact that bikes were included made everything but the beach easily accessible. For those not familiar with Chincoteague, the beach is out on Assateague Island and would be quite a hike from anywhere on Chincoteague on foot or even by beach cruiser bike. Best to drive in and bring your bikes with you to cruise around within the park on their beautiful bike trails. To save funds and maximize the fun, we decided to make most of our meals at the house. The kitchen was great and had most everything we needed for cooking and serving. The only thing it didn’t have was any cabinet space to put away our groceries that were not refrigerated, so we kept everything out on the big island countertop, which worked just fine. One thing we were really excited about was the kayaks that were included as an option with our stay. Our boys love kayaking with their dad and we totally would have taken advantage of those except we had some pretty chilly and windy days. Which just means we must come back soon to Sir-Whelk-A-Lot during our summer break to enjoy those on a sunny day!

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and in super condition, the bedrooms are great so everyone can enjoy some quiet time and privacy. Loads of beach gear provided, games as well. Location convenient to get to beach, shopping, mainland bridge, boat trips and eating out. Very much enjoyed the evening sun sitting on the swing on the front porch.

This was the perfect house for our large group. The bedrooms on the first floor were perfect for my mom as she was still recovering from hip surgery. The top floor was perfect for all the kids to stay together and have their own hang-out space. Loved the open floor plan, bc you could be in the kitchen and still have conversations across to the dining area and into the den area. It has everything you could need on vacation. Bikes, kayaks, hair dryers, all kitchen essentials you could possibly think of and more. The decor was amazing! So beachy and fun....beautiful pictures!! We loved everything!

We had a great stay with our family of six- kids aged 9-14. Having the bikes was a hit for the teens to be able to roam to get ice cream or to fish at the park. It was clean and cozy. The host did a great job communicating before and during our stay. If we get to Chincoteague again, will definitely check here for available!

My family & I really enjoyed our stay! Walkable to restaurants & shopping. Kayaking to see ponies was a highlight! We felt at home here and especially loved the porch swing. So relaxing! Would love to come back!

This Island House meets all expectations for anyone looking for a beach getaway including a couple, couples, or a family. The addition of bikes, kayaks, and everything needed for a day at the beach adds to the value. The house is an easy 5 mile drive or bike ride from the beach and the neighborhood is in an imminently walkable area of town. You will have plenty of walkable options for eating and sightseeing from this house.

It had been several years since the family visited Chincoteague and our stay at Sir-Whelk-A-Lot was a fantastic way to become reacquainted with the community. It's location and proximity to main town attractions made walking to our destinations a breeze, and for longer journeys, four bicycles are provided to use. The place is very clean and has every amenity one needs. The owners go out of their way to make one feel right at home. Too bad our stay was not longer. Highly recommend folks stay at Sir-Whelk-A-Lot if spending any time in Chincoteague.

This house served our group really well. It’s clean, spacious, and in a fantastic location to walk to shops along the main street. It’s in a quiet location, but in a perfect spot for activities. You can explore the beach and forest all day and this is the perfect place to relax and revive. There is an outdoor shower to wash the beach off after a day in the sun. You can’t go wrong staying here. It’s hard to have a bad time on Chincoteague island. This house will accelerate your wonderful stay.

Stayed in the off season when it's nice and quiet. The home was well kept, clean, and nicely situated. Owners were solid, and very responsive to the one issue we had (a sticking side entrance storm door - taken care of quickly). Comfortable bed, cozy couches, and a clean kitchen. Can't ask for better on a weekend retreat.

We booked this last min and I’m so glad we found it. Very conveniently located to downtown, it made it easy to explore the island. The property was super clean and the hosts were very organized. We only had three people but this could easily fit a larger family. Would absolutely recommend.to others.

The house was charming, clean, and well maintained. A short walk to most everything on main st, and a quick bike ride/drive to anything on maddox. Host were very responsive. Would visit again!

Stayed the here with my adult daughters for my birthday weekend. Great location for walking to many interesting shops and restaurants. The beach was lovely and we enjoyed the trails in the park. The house is comfortable, clean, and we enjoyed having three beds upstairs that we could use for a girls sleepover. We would rent this property again if in the area.

Sir Whelk-a-Lot was the cutest little cottage on Chincoteague Island. It was centrally located on the island and easily located. The house was clean and welcoming and easily accommodated the 4 of us during the weekend.The hosts were fabulous to work with and they provided everything we needed!If you're looking for a weekend getaway, this is a great place. Overall, our stay at this property was great. There were a couple of minor hiccups, but the owner/manager was very prompt with remedying the issue. The location is fantastic- we walked to most restaurants and shops and when it came time to rent some bikes to explore Chincoteague and Assateague, it was a 6 minute drive to the place to get them. The property was beyond clean and I loved that all the mattresses have covers on them for your own bedsheets. It was also nice having things available like 5 bikes to ride, blowdryers, lots of tv options, etc. Overall, a fantastic location and home to explore the islands!

My husband and I enjoyed our return to Chincoteague after several decades and this place made our visit very convenient. It’s a great location in a quiet neighborhood with a comfortable queen bed, full bath and well-equipped kitchen all on the ground floor. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this property! We had a group of 8 total, 4 kids and 4 adults. There was plenty of room for everyone! The inside was very clean and inviting. Owners are very easy to work with and respond quickly to any questions or concerns. Couldn’t have asked for a better overall experience, made it very easy to relax and enjoy the vacation!

We had a great time at Sir Whelks A Lot! The facility was great, spacious- even bigger than the photos made it look- and well appointed. The hosts were communicative and helpful. We had no complaints and had a great stay!

Sir Whelk a Lot worked out great for the 4 of us. The upstairs has 3 beds and its own bathroom, so it was like having a separate suite. The steps are narrow, so you have to be careful. Great location

This was the perfect house for our large group. The bedrooms on the first floor were perfect for my mom as she was still recovering from hip surgery. The top floor was perfect for all the kids to stay together and have their own hang-out space. Loved the open floor plan, bc you could be in the kitchen and still have conversations across to the dining area and into the den area. It has everything you could need on vacation. Bikes, kayaks, hair dryers, all kitchen essentials you could possibly think of and more. The decor was amazing! So beachy and fun....beautiful pictures!! We loved everything!

We stayed for 3 nights in this comfortable home. We very much enjoyed our stay. Easy communication with owners, too.

Stayed the here with my adult daughters for my birthday weekend. Great location for walking to many interesting shops and restaurants. The beach was lovely and we enjoyed the trails in the park. The house is comfortable, clean, and we enjoyed having three beds upstairs that we could use for a girls sleepover. We would rent this property again if in the area.

Stayed in the off season when it's nice and quiet. The home was well kept, clean, and nicely situated. Owners were solid, and very responsive to the one issue we had (a sticking side entrance storm door - taken care of quickly). Comfortable bed, cozy couches, and a clean kitchen. Can't ask for better on a weekend retreat.

We loved the location of this home. It’s within walking distance of many places and an easy drive to the beach. There was plenty of room for our family of five. The neighborhood is very quaint and quiet. Communication with the owner could not have been smoother. She was extremely responsive and couldn’t have been more accommodating. We enjoyed a lovely week there and would stay again.

Great location, good advice and information about the area, host was very responsive. Tiny hiccup involving linens, we expected them to be on the beds when we arrived. We had to put them on ourselves, which normally would be no big deal, but we were all tired from traveling all day. Once we got over that, everything was wonderful!

We had a great stay with our family of six- kids aged 9-14. Having the bikes was a hit for the teens to be able to roam to get ice cream or to fish at the park. It was clean and cozy. The host did a great job communicating before and during our stay. If we get to Chincoteague again, will definitely check here for available!

Overall, our stay at this property was great. There were a couple of minor hiccups, but the owner/manager was very prompt with remedying the issue. The location is fantastic- we walked to most restaurants and shops and when it came time to rent some bikes to explore Chincoteague and Assateague, it was a 6 minute drive to the place to get them. The property was beyond clean and I loved that all the mattresses have covers on them for your own bedsheets. It was also nice having things available like 5 bikes to ride, blowdryers, lots of tv options, etc. Overall, a fantastic location and home to explore the islands!

My husband and I enjoyed our return to Chincoteague after several decades and this place made our visit very convenient. It’s a great location in a quiet neighborhood with a comfortable queen bed, full bath and well-equipped kitchen all on the ground floor. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

This house served our group really well. It’s clean, spacious, and in a fantastic location to walk to shops along the main street. It’s in a quiet location, but in a perfect spot for activities. You can explore the beach and forest all day and this is the perfect place to relax and revive. There is an outdoor shower to wash the beach off after a day in the sun. You can’t go wrong staying here. It’s hard to have a bad time on Chincoteague island. This house will accelerate your wonderful stay.

We loved our getaway on Chincoteague island! The cottage is comfy and the front porch lovely! We rode bikes offered by the owners all around the downtown area! We could also walk to nearby shops and restaurants on Main St. The gorgeous beach of Assateague was only a 10 minute drive! Be sure to get pastries and coffee at AmaRin and delicious hand-made ice cream at Island Creamery--both on Maddox Blvd!

Great house, great location! We are a family of four and stayed for 2 nights. We enjoyed the beach, the Nature Reserve, and a creamery. If we'd had more time we would have loved to take the kayaks out! Four people can easily fit in the suite upstairs, which has a full bath, television, and living room type arrangement. Our kids felt like sleeping in one of the downstairs rooms on the second night, so they used that room as well, and were very comfortably there as well. We did not use the room with the bunk beds. The thermostat and upstairs window unit work well and the kitchen is well stocked. Due to rainy weather, we did not use the outdoor table or grill, but I'm sure that would be fun. It was easy to park in the driveway, and we found plenty of street parking right outside of the house. Laundry, stovetop, and microwave worked well. The house could easily fit 8 people, maybe even 10 as described by the owners. The stairs to the 2nd floor bedroom are very steep, and both of my elementary school aged kids slipped down the stairs despite the handrail and multiple reminders to be careful. Overall a wonderful vacation home that we would definitely visit again!

We enjoyed our stay at “Sir Whelk-A-Lot”We loved the Seashore Design Details of the home, and the spacious feel. The well equipped kitchen made making our meals simple. The only thing I missed was a blender, since I love making shakes. Will definitely consider renting this lodging again and will highly recommend it.

This house is adorable. Had a great time cooking in the kitchen, relaxing on the porch swing, etc. The place must have rubbed off on me, I took a little of the relaxation with me and chilled for another 24 hours at home. Highly recommend!
