Positives: Great central location and near bus stops and a metro station. Staff were friendly, and price was great compared to other hotels in the area. Room was quiet and had air conditioning (I requested a room at the back of the building). Negatives: No elevator and reception is on the first floor, so all luggage has to be carried up the stairs. Overall: The hotel is basic so don't expect anything beyond this. It is reasonable for the price paid. Breakfast was included - it includes toast, cereal and fruit only but is adequate.

The location is excellent however we should have been advised that it is on a pedestrian only street. During the summer it is sure to be noisy and crowded. The parking they recommend is on St. Urbain, close by. 27 steps up to the lobby so beware of heavy suitcases.

The standout feature of this hotel is definitely its fantastic location in the heart of Quartier Des Spectacles. You can easily reach all major tourist attractions within a 20-minute walk. On the downside, there is no elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage up to the 2nd or 3rd floor. However, the prices here are very competitive, making it a great choice overall.

Parking is so far and expensive

Great location. Very affordable. Difficult to enter property with narrow staircase. Would definitely stay there in the future.

No elevator

The location overall wasn’t bad — actually, it was quite decent. That being said, the entrance to the hotel was... creepy. It honestly felt like I was going into a shady place for some kind of illegal business. Right below the hotel, there’s a huge adult store, and to get to the hotel, you have to walk past it and enter a small, dark glass door. From there, you go up some really uneven stairs — no elevator — and either ring the bell or wait for the staff at the front desk to buzz you in (they probably do this to keep non-guests out, since there seemed to be a lot of homeless people around the area). Check-in was kind of unusual, and the layout of the building was a bit confusing. After checking in, you need to go up or down more stairs to reach your actual room (still no elevator), and the floors are so uneven that at times I felt like I was hiking uphill — and then suddenly going downhill again. The room itself was small but had most of the essentials. Cozy, even. However, the shower booth in the bathroom was extremely small — like, barely enough space for one person. Also, you need to turn the water on in advance, but if you do that, it splashes right outside the booth, which is not ideal. I stayed for two nights, and there was no cleaning service in between. All in all, it was a strange but kind of interesting experience. Not terrible, but not sure I’d stay again.

Great price, good location to explore Montreal with easy and multiple access points to the metro. Unique old building which we loved. Plenty of stairs and no elevator which is clearly stated on their website that this building is not accessible, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. 24 hour locked door so we felt very safe. Would definitely stay here again. Did not make use of the continental breakfast but it looked decent.

Not sure that the City of Montreal knows about section D. Need to exit building on a terrace where there are rats and then get in a scary stairwell to access a dead end corridor with four rooms that are not sprinklered. Very scary location.

Hotel has 3 stories and two buildings. this is inconvenient if you have heavy luggage, as there is no elevator. I liked that the breakfast was open until 10 or later. The location is very good.

Great location, not a super clean room. Sheets and towels were kind of dirty. But it gets the job done. Probably wouldn't go back but didn't have any major problems. Continental breakfast wasn't great. Plenty of places to eat around though so not a huge problem

Room was very clean, quiet with full accessories. Staff were nice and cooperative. Air conditioning was working great Lots of foods and shopping malls were at walking distance from the property.

Property needs updating, it’s old. There was a cockroach on the wall in the breakfast area. Not a good sign for cleanliness. When we arrived there was no electricity, it did come on eventually. Would not stay there again.

the stairs to go up to the lobby smell soooo bad, not inviting. the person at the lobby was nice, gave us our key and explained well how to get to the room. as we entered, there was a smell in the room, the sheets were dirty (multiple hairs, different color spots on the bed sheets), the sofa and chair looked overused - there were marks on the walls. 5 min later we went back to the lobby to check-out, the person at the lobby was not surprised. We asked for a reimbursement at this point - he asked us to go through Hotels.com, which we did, to no avail unfortunately. The hotel decided to uphold the original cancellation policy and have declined the waiver request. I think Hotels.com need to compensate and promptly unlist that hotel.

Dirty, sheets have not been changed, no sheets under the blankets and they were covered in blood stains. Disgusting and it’s so not worth the price

Le déjeuner était très simple, pain sec lait laisser sur un comptoir non réfrigéré depuis jcp trop combien de temps et cereal pleine d’humidité. Le coin fumeur est très mal entretenu, des vieux meuble qui traîné des matelas empilés bref pas super propre

Room was dark and feels dirty. The hotel needs 360 degrees cleanup and maintenance. Dust everywhere in the cabinets (room and toilet)... we had to use sanitary wipes to clean the floors, tables and cabinet with too much hair and dust and who knows what!!! TV was not working. There was a broken outlet which is a safety issue. Front desk offered to switch room but who knows how much problem and cleaning I have to do in that room! I was told that manager can fix the TV and outlet at 7am the following day. But we are out going around. I do not want anyone in our room while we are out. I am not on vacation to wait for that person to fix problems in the hotel. The management has to pay me for cleaning our room and doing inspection for them. Completely disgusting and disappointing!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!

Sink in room was gross , shower curtains stained as well

O hotel fica bem localizado com restaurantes próximos e estação de metrô a alguns metros. Chegamos sábado à noite e a rua estava super movimentada com muita gente bebendo e fumando.. tinha boate nas proximidades. Não tem elevador no hotel e tem várias escadas dependendo de onde ficar seu quarto. Eles oferecem café da manha básico (pão, cereal, leite, café e suco de laranja). O quarto em si era pequeno, o banheiro também, para tomar banho era apertadinho.. mas o chuveiro era bom. A cama não era muito confortável.. não sei se eram dois colchões juntos que formavam uma de casal. O atendimento da recepção foi bom, pedi secador de cabelo (que não tinha no quarto) e elas me deram. É possível deixar as malas no hotel após o check out e depois buscar.. eles tem luggage room. Apesar dos pontos negativos, para se hospedar por uma noite foi uma boa opção.

Staff was welcoming and friendly. Area is very close to restaurants and attractions . Rooms are tiny, dated and beds are extremely squeaky and uncomfortable.

The room cleanness was ok. There is no elevator and my room was on the third floor. So keep that in mind if you are traveling with big luggages or kids. The area is almost core downtown so expect a lot of noise at night. My room was facing the street and the noise woke me up several times after mid night. But it is really close to everything downtown has to offer.

Zona centrale. L’hotel è datato, senza ascensore. La nostra camera era grande e pulita però il divano letto terribile! Per fortuna ci abbia passato solo 1 notte, aveva un materasso a molle vecchio che facevano malissimo alla schiena. Climatizzatore rumoroso. Colazione minimal.

The hotel generally is a bit run down. The rooms were in rough shape. The beds were terrible. There is no elevator at this hotel, so something to be aware of. It is very central to old Montreal and some tourist attractions. If you are on a budget, then it can fit the bill.

Night staffs have terrible service, the picture is not match with the place, amenities are not work properly, poor sound insulation

The room has enormous and spacious with tall ceilings Full kitchen with full fridge The bathroom door didnt fit the space (or the space didnt fit the door) so the bathroom door didnt close. Cleanliness was acceptable, but not immaculate. Parking not included, an awkward lot was $24 a day. I did not like having to be buzzed in every single time, but it was fine. I felt reluctant to have friends over We were comfortable, generally pleased. I would say this is a good value choice and I would be willing to stay here again.

This hotel is very accessible. The area is very good. Staff is friendly. Room is clean and the bathroom is new and well-maintained.

Always quick check in. Friendly staff. Probably why i always stay here when i have an event downtown. 15 minute walk to the bus or train station. Metro just around the corner

Good for an affordable stay in Montreal. Building is kind of sketchy but the rooms were clean enough. Pillows were flat as a board, so bring your own if you can. Also a bit noisy outside. The complimentary breakfast consisted of toast and cereal, better than nothing! Didn’t hear any other guests in the rooms Nextdoor. Was in good walking distance to the concert we were going to see. Staff were friendly enough. Overall, if you’re looking for a budget hotel, this will suffice!

Unless you're gearing up for special athletic training don't book here.STAIRS STAIRS AND MORE STAIRS. NO Elevator. So if you have luggage besides a purse or backpack steer clear of this one. The guy who was working the front desk, gave the WORST guest service on the planet. He was more interested in his phone conversations than with assisting the fuest. I spoke of the stairs previously, well he then put me on the third floor (Again no Elevator) . The room I had been fiven may have been okay, but it had no telephone or any way to operate the tv. Sooo, I had to walk the three flights back down to guest service to let him know the issues. I asked him for another room, to which he replied that I should have checked in at 3pm and that the previous guest had taken the remote control when they departed. His lack of concern was appalling. Another guest was checking in and we were ask to switch rooms. We did and this room(103) was terrible. The mattress was so thin ,that you could feel tge spring coils in it. The tv only had 1 working channel and it was hockey only. I had had enough. I checked out and found better accommodations.

Our stay at Hotel Quartier des Spectacles was amazing and smooth from start to finish. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Montreal, close to everything. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A special shoutout to Salma at the reception! She was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind. Her warm attitude truly made a difference and added a personal touch to our experience. Highly recommend this hotel! Will definitely be back!

Location, location, location! We stayed in a "superior" room and enjoyed the character of the hardwood floors and brick walls of this quirky, nicely renovated building - not at all the corporate commercial feel, yet comfortable and clean. Walk out the front door and you are practically in the Place Des Arts, pedestrian only. We parked in the Complex Desjardins, so convenient, and traveled light with just backpacks. This is not at all accessible to those who cannot climb stairs. But for sightseers on a budget we found it very pleasant!

O melhor do hotel é a localização, perto da maioria das atrações. Ficamos no 3º andar, tuvemos que subir com as malas pela escada. Café da manhã razoável. Gostei da estadia

The room was nice and quiet, with double paned windows, but I would have preferred the shower to have a hose. I liked all the colored lights on the street outside, and that the location was in a cultural district.

Bon accueil Dejeuner à revoir, un peu trop de mouchettes à mon goût. Chambre plus ou moins propre. La literie est à revoir. Mais l hôtel est central, tout est accessible à pied.
