It is a nice place with LOTS of pickleball! A bit run down. The gym has great equipment but also serves as a storage dump. The restaurant, BayView is fabulous! Also had a fabulous massage at the spa. Unfortunately someone stole my shoes at the pool. Otherwise it was exactly as I expected.

This resort is quiet, right on the beach and has a beautiful pool with a swim up bar. The 2 restaurants on site are great! Nice place for groups celebrating a special event or a family trip.

Beautiful beach, and the view is awesome. The pool was cold for me, but good for others. The only thing that I didn’t like is that the hotel does not have any umbrelas or chairs at the beach, there are no shadows to hide from the sun. The hotel has a Disc golf course (5 baskets) but they need to clean some trash from the field. Nice jacuzzi!!!

Great location right on the beach. You are really paying for the location. This is a very quiet hotel and community in general located about an hour from Cabo. The restaurants they have offered a variety of options and the staff at the restaurants were very friendly and accommodating. It was a little cooler and windier during spring break than Cancun. The gym was closed during our stay with no alternative options offered. They do suggest a 10 percent gratuity for the entire stay, which seems high. I’d recommend this property for travelers looking to be away from the hustle of Cabo.

Really nice pool, bar, restaurant and the beach is amazing. 5 star cleanliness. The only issue we had was a 5 day stay with no hot water in the shower. It was reported with no follow up. I would have given 5 stars across the board if they would have taken care of it. If they communicated back with me I would have given the staff 5 stars

El lugar siempre es muy tranquilo, siempre para poderse relajar, la recepción siempre nos recibe excelente pero hay que mejorar el servicio en restaurantes. No estaba funcionando el jacuzzi (solo estaba caliente sin burbujas) La habitación es limpia son embargo hay lugares donde hay polvo, el sillón que están dentro de la habitación. Las TV son viejas y el sillón dentro de la cabaña tambien. El costo beneficio se obtiene realmente por la tranquilidad del lugar, acceso a la playa, regaderas y baños cerca de alberca y buen servicio del bar de alberca principal.

Feels dated, rooms are like prison bunks, people next to us smoking so we could smell it in our room, eerie lack of people, FOOD BITS IN THE POOL (which was also murky and overwhelming smell of chlorine), beach access was nice. Overall a bizarre experience and fine if you are wanting to go to Mexico, but not be in Mexico.

Feels dated, rooms are like prison bunks, people next to us smoking so we could smell it in our room, eerie lack of people, FOOD BITS IN THE POOL (which was also murky and overwhelming smell of chlorine), beach access was nice. The hotel is typical third world—building items unfinished with not much design. We had to insist upon being moved to another room since the first room was dirty. Breakfast was inexpensive but quite nice. Bar was good but pools filter did not work.

The property seems as if its hey day has passed. The rooms are ok but there were issues with small bugs. The common areas are somewhat kept up but the small pool in the garden area was never cleaned or operational but it didn't have a sign stating it was closed only staff sayin when asked that it wasn't operational. The rinse shower from the beach is barely operational b/c the handles fall off the valves. Not having complimentary coffee or a way to get ice for the room seemed cheap. The inability to charge dining or other items to the room besides the pool bar is inconvenient.

Overall the pool area was nice, kid friendly access, grounds were clean. Our room was dirty, mold growing on ceiling of our bathroom, damaged tiles in our bathroom that were jagged and unsafe, room had a very bright television outside of it that lite it up at night. We were moved to a different room the following day which was better. Food menu was kid friendly but pricing was not, expect to pay $75 CDN for family of 4 (breakfast) and dinner was $150 . They need a kids menu option and more affordable options for breaky. Service was great, staff is friendly and helpful. I would not stay here again.

We stayed there for a week, and everything was ready and clean when we arrived. Each day, we were given two bottles of water, which was a nice touch. The pool and hot tub area were always clean and well-maintained, and there was never any noise after 10 p.m.—even before that, it was pretty quiet. The best part was being right on the beach with easy access. It made our stay really relaxing.

I had ants all over my bathroom. I reported it and was told that they would put in a work order. After 3 days i bought a can of bug spray myself and sprayed them' I paid for a room $230/night with a view, it had a huge marlin on top of a building in front of me. The restaurant had a new manager who was Very arrogant when I met him. Overall I expected the care and service I had the year before, it Didn't. Twice I had the "make up" sign on the door and they didn't clean the room. I will NEVER go there again!!!

We enjoyed a one night stay in early December. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and engaging. Overall the hotel room was very nice and the ocean view was worth the extra cost. The bathroom and overall size of the room was very comfortable. The resort clean and well kept, but certain aspects were dated, and the landscaping lighting at night could really use an upgrade. Much of the service and amenities were closed, as occupancy seemed very low. The front desk provided hours of operation for the restaurants and bars, but then never opened, such as the sushi restaurant we hoped to dine at or the snack bar. We’d stay again.

Nice rooms, great view of pool area & ocean. Balcony was lovely. Unfortunately, wifi did not work in room, only on balcony or pool side. Had a good supper in restaurant. Overall, very nice.

It’s a little run down in parts, maybe past it’s prime. Also our room was very dark, almost a cave, and when the room above used their bathroom you heard the drains loud and clear. But the staff were all friendly and helpful. And the beachfront setting is quite special, amazing sunsets and sunrises.

Don't be fooled by the response to this review. This hotel is quick to respond to poor reviews as if they care about your stay, but that is not the case. The room was full of an ant/termite type bug? The bed was awful the pillow was a sheet, the food was very expensive and awful. If you want to lay on the beach, you will need to pay 25.00 to rent an umbrella and a chair. I was unable to stay the second night of a four night stay. I communicated to the front desk that I was unable to stay another night and I was told that they would refund the three nights. When Travelocity called the front desk they refused to refund the three nights but did refund two of them. They claimed that we took a tour and used that as an excuse to not refund the three nights. We never took a tour? We were not expecting a 5 star experience but we were not expecting a total disregard for hygiene and such poor customer service?

The property was fine, a nice location. The front desk and checkout stole $5,000 pesos from me and did nothing to correct this. I am not sure but it seemed to be a joined effort at checked charging me for incidentals. Too bad because it is a nice property.

What a beautiful resort with breathtaking sea views. The staff was outstanding from the front desk to the restaurant with great customer service, prompt response to all requests and helpful tips around the city. Really nice pool, bar, restaurant and the beach is amazing. 5 star cleanliness. The only issue we had was a 5 day stay with no hot water in the shower. It was reported with no follow up. I would have given 5 stars across the board if they would have taken care of it. If they communicated back with me I would have given the staff 5 stars

Overall the pool area was nice, kid friendly access, grounds were clean. Our room was dirty, mold growing on ceiling of our bathroom, damaged tiles in our bathroom that were jagged and unsafe, room had a very bright television outside of it that lite it up at night. We were moved to a different room the following day which was better. Food menu was kid friendly but pricing was not, expect to pay $75 CDN for family of 4 (breakfast) and dinner was $150 . They need a kids menu option and more affordable options for breaky. Service was great, staff is friendly and helpful. I would not stay here again.

Hotel Palmas is a nice resort property on the beach. All the staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff and the restaurant staff were very nice and made us feel welcome. The room and premises were very clean and we enjoyed walking to shops and restaurants in town. We also enjoyed treatments at the small spa at the hotel.

Great location right on the beach. You are really paying for the location. This is a very quiet hotel and community in general located about an hour from Cabo. The restaurants they have offered a variety of options and the staff at the restaurants were very friendly and accommodating. It was a little cooler and windier during spring break than Cancun. The gym was closed during our stay with no alternative options offered. They do suggest a 10 percent gratuity for the entire stay, which seems high. I’d recommend this property for travelers looking to be away from the hustle of Cabo.

Great hidden gem! Not too busy for such a large resort. Practically had the place all to ourselves. Felt very safe and not too far to explore other places around the area.

Great location, right on the beach and walking distance to center of town. Sport fishing fleet is based here and pickle ball Club is nextdoor. I think there’s decent fishing right on the beach in front of hotel. Restaurants in hotel are excellent but not cheap and staff is friendly. We would come back here anytime!

We stayed there for a week, and everything was ready and clean when we arrived. Each day, we were given two bottles of water, which was a nice touch. The pool and hot tub area were always clean and well-maintained, and there was never any noise after 10 p.m.—even before that, it was pretty quiet. The best part was being right on the beach with easy access. It made our stay really relaxing.

My husband, dog and I stayed in Hotel Palmas de Cortez in December 2023. The ground floor room was a little older but very clean and well maintained. The breakfast which was included and made to order (Mexican and North American dishes) was fantastic and the restaurant is right on the beach with outdoor tables on a deck. The front desk, cleaning and restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful and they were super welcoming to our dog. We were able to walk to great restaurants for dinner along the beach a couple of times and had a glass of wine and a beer at a scenic bar on the water that was associated with the hotel.

We we’re pleasantly surprised with the charm and the facilities of the hotel Beautiful beach comfortable pool side area A large sprawling property sitting on an expensive beach Tennis courts pickle ball courts a well equipped gym Saw a driving range Not sure if there was a golf course Food was great Can’t think of 1 thing to complain about Will definitely return to enjoy this hotel

This resort is quiet, right on the beach and has a beautiful pool with a swim up bar. The 2 restaurants on site are great! Nice place for groups celebrating a special event or a family trip.

The entire property was clean and safe. The staff was excellent and helpful. It was close to the center of town and it was nice to be right on the beach The food and drinks on site were very expensive. I would not purchase food or drinks if I stayed there again. Coffee was $5 each and not great. Free coffee in the morning would have gone a long way in wanting us to visit again. We could have bought a coffee maker and saved money over our 7 day stay.

We enjoyed a one night stay in early December. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and engaging. Overall the hotel room was very nice and the ocean view was worth the extra cost. The bathroom and overall size of the room was very comfortable. The resort clean and well kept, but certain aspects were dated, and the landscaping lighting at night could really use an upgrade. Much of the service and amenities were closed, as occupancy seemed very low. The front desk provided hours of operation for the restaurants and bars, but then never opened, such as the sushi restaurant we hoped to dine at or the snack bar. We’d stay again.

Limited pool towels - sink fell out and smashed with 2.5 days left without sink. One whole day without shower water. Pool bar drinks high priced, small cups and inconsistent quality.

My teenage daughters and I had a wonderful and adventurous stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms cleaned daily, amenities plentiful for a nice relaxing stay. Friendly shuttle service roundtrip from airport , on-site car rental for trips into town like Malecón. Only down was not being able to enjoy a swim in the beautiful ocean water due to JellyFish in the waters. Wasn't aware but this is usual between May-June months

This property is in a fantastic Oceanside location. Our group of 4 stayed for 2 nights in a standard room. We were next to one of the hot tubs and by a gate to the sea. Great food, great drinks and the staff was very helpful. We had a problem with our door lock and it was taken care of within 15 minutes. We would stay here again.

Firstly, I rarely review any business good or bad, but Hotel Palmas de Cortez was simply appalling. When checking in, the woman at the front desk would only cut us one key card for the room for 3 people. She said come back tomorrow if you want more. She was incredibly rude. When we got to the room, it was a dump. We had a Presidential suite and it was anything but! It was so run down and disgusting we went back to the front desk and asked for another room. We were subsequently shown room that was covered in more dust, had dead insects on the window sills, stunk of mold and didn't look as if it had been cleaned in months! We eventually stayed in the original room as we had no choice. We went out and bought cleaning products from the local supermarket and cleaned the room ourselves to where it was livable. Housekeeping only made the bed and folded the used towels. I deliberately left dust on one of the sofa arms to see if housekeeping would wipe it off during the 6 nights we were there - it was not! The overall hotel is tired and desperately in need of a facelift and someone who cares about the property. The restaurants on site were terrible however the staff at least were pleasant and helpful. The pool bar doesn't serve food - you have to get takeout! The gym was disgracefully filthy - couldn't use it! We've stayed at many properties in Mexico, some good, some bad, but nothing like this! The website portrays the hotel as something entirely different to reality. Stay away!
