Untrustworthy Host – VRBO Should Remove This ListingOur experience with this host was disastrous, and I urge VRBO to reconsider allowing him on the platform.We were a group of 10 people across three families traveling internationally. Less than 24 hours before our flight to Munich, the host called to say he had double-booked and could not host us for the first three nights of our six-night stay. This last-minute change left us scrambling to find alternatives.The host promised to cover the cost of replacement accommodations, but failed again. When we arrived at the second property, no payment had been made at the replacement property. They accepted us on good faith but all 10 of us were forced to wait in the hotel lobby for over six hours, unable to check out while the host delayed sending funds. This was stressful, humiliating, and an enormous waste of valuable time.When we requested a refund for these repeated failures, he refused, insisting we had a “confirmed stay.” In reality, his actions showed complete disregard for his guests and basic hosting obligations.A host who double books, strands guests for hours, fails to pay for promised lodging, and then rejects a refund request is unfit to represent VRBO. His conduct was negligent, dishonest, and a clear breach of trust.To protect future travelers, I strongly recommend VRBO remove this host from the platform. No family should have to endure this level of incompetence and disregard.

The property did not have proper heat or hot water when we arrived for our September stay. The property manager did not return our email within 24 hours on this issue. Because it was too cold to stay there, we sought other accommodations. H refused to refund any of our money. The house itself is poorly laid out with very little space for congregating and the furnishings are cheap. Cristoph was difficult to work with the whole time, asking for additional signatures to house rules (despite agreeing to the rules through VRBO), and then despite having paid for 6 people to stay, he would only arrange rooms for three people as our total number resulted in that. This meant that had there been proper heat in the home, we wouldn't even have been able to choose the rooms we wanted to sleep in. This was a horrible experience all the way around. While we didn't end up staying because it wasn't habitable and the host was non-responsive, I also note that the outside of the house was unkempt, messy and not the kind of setting pictured or described. We have a long and positive record of renting with VRBO, but this was absolutely awful. Difficult right from the start.

Die Lage des Hauses ist recht ruhig und (fast) idyllisch. Die Ausstattung / Gestaltung des Hauses ist angenehm und geschmackvoll, wir haben es sauber vorgefunden. Hübsch ist auch die Außenanlage mit Frosch-Teich und Holzdeck. Leider schaut man von dort auf eine Gerümpel-Ecke.... Die Badezimmer sind renoviert, bis auf das Gäste-WC in der Wohnebene. Dieses war nicht abschliessbar, das Schloss fehlte. Ebenfalls im Gäste-WC unter dem Waschbecken hatte es offensichtlich einen Wasserschaden gegeben, der im Putz eine große ausgeblühte Stelle hinterlassen hat, der kleine Heizkörper hat eine abplatzende Lackierung, teilweise Roststellen. Die Betten in den Schlafzimmern waren für insgesamt 6 Personen (2 Paare, 2 Einzel-Personen, 1 Hund) okay, Kleiderschränke gibt es jedoch nirgends: eine Woche aus dem Koffer . . . Wo die im Inserat genannten 19 Personen hätten nächtigen sollen, bleibt absolut rätselhaft. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter nach (!) der Bezahlung der vollen Mietsumme funktionierte erst nach einem Beschwerde-Anruf bei Fewo-Direkt, dann aber prompt. Der Mietpreis ist nach unserer Auffassung deutlich zu hoch!

Wir hatten die Unterkunft für den Zeitraum vom 5. bis 9. Mai gebucht. Nachts lagen die Temperaturen nur bei 3 bis 5 Grad, tagsüber etwa bei 10 Grad.In der Anzeige stand, dass das Haus Platz für 15–19 Personen bietet – wir waren nur 10 Personen. Trotzdem reichte das warme Wasser abends gerade mal für zwei Personen, ab der dritten kam nur noch kaltes Wasser. Auf Nachfrage erklärte der Eigentümer, dass 30 Liter pro Person zum Duschen ausreichen würden – mir fehlen dazu wirklich die Worte.Am ersten Tag war sowohl die Waschmaschine als auch die Spülmaschine defekt.Ich war ehrlich gesagt einfach nur wütend …
