The Grand Scarborough

Disappointing no wash hand basin in toilet. Down other end of room. Room quite stuffy, window did not open at all.

The room off of the bathroom was covered in makeup not cleaned from previous people, no soap in shower, nails coming up through the carpet, no knob on shower deverter

The room was clean on arrival. We were there for several nights. You are advised to leave your towels outside your room if you need them changed . Please be aware this is not always so and you may return later in the evening and be stepping over other guests dirty towels. We were also in a room on the lower floors which was not a problem until the lift was out of service and we had to use the stair . If you have mobility problems this could cause you difficult also it like a maze and there's steps where you aren't expecting their to be. So you have to be very careful. Lucky they had the lift fixed by the time we checked out with our suitcases.On saying all that the staff couldn't have been more helpful and were a pleasure. Max the young singer was great. The hotel is lovely and located brilliantly for town and beach.

Very clean family room on floor 1, had to go and ask for decaf coffee to be told they didn't stock it slightly disappointed. Then spoke to a member of staff who actually went above and beyond and went and got me some. Entertainment didn't happen due to sound technical problems but bingo went ahead slightly later than it was ment to. Evening meal was ok all you can eat buffet but half of the kids menu wasn't available no drinks available other than Very small glasses of water Bar prices reasonable. Only thing I will say staff need to ask the people thats sat in the lobby after 11pm to keep the noise down or returning to the hotel drunk after a night out

This place was such a disappointment. Should be closed down during renovation as have Travelodge opposite. Not clean, dust and dbrus everywhere. Builders in lifts and corridors while getting to and from rooms. A shambles. Residents bar closed at 10pm ! We went across road for late drink and they closed at 12. Breakfast was cold, dry, rubber eggs cold. Bread for toast was damp and the thinnest bread I have ever seen. No way will we return at least for next 5 years which will be how long it takes to make it decent. Shame, once the jewel of Scarborough!!
