Elevators didn’t work. 1st room - toilet didn’t flush, smelled like mold, floor felt nasty, lamps didn’t work 2nd room (suite due to having to move me) had mold and cracks everywhere, a nasty wall, empty space with no furniture and a AC unit that made noise. The only positive I can give is that the staff was friendly and they approved my refund.

Fire alarm went off at 5:00 am! Otherwise,a nice stay in a clean hotel.

This hotel was decent...it was clean & the breakfast was pretty decent. However the only reason we chose this hotel was for the pool. Purchased through expedia so didnt know the pool was out of commission until after we had already checked in. Major bummer for a hot summer day, would have definitely stayed somewhere else & wished we had known. I tried to call the hotel before i booked but never could get anyone on the phone... also the elevator was super sketchy & the stairs were out of order.

Stayed in two separate rooms, both had dirty floors. Housekeeping knocks on your door before the 11a check out. Immovable curtains prevent you from blocking out the outdoor lights. Pool is seasonal, despite it being 75 degrees out.

Nice hotel. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great! Room was clean, nice furnishings, and beds comfortable. Toilet was leaking at base, safety bar was loose, lighting in bathroom was very dim-not good for makeup application, and only one elevator was working and that elevator was shaky and made a lot of noise!

I just have problems with the food. I also had a problem that we were not informed until we had paid the elevator was out. I come often to this hotel and have paid several different prices over the last 2 years.

Shortly after midnight the fire alarm was set off and woke us up. It went off for 5-10 minutes. It was extremely loud. The elevator was broken and had to take 4 flights of stairs. Was not alerted until arrival time at 10pm, if I would have known of this beforehand I could have had time to find another hotel but I was tired and ready to rest.

Carpet soaked near window. Outside wall had separation between walls. Sheets are worn and even looked a little dirty. The had a flood further down the hall before we arrived. I had to walk around the building to get access to the front entrance, eating area and gym.

This place is a mess. There are no pillows for those allergic to feathers. So we slept without pillows after driving 800 miles. One morning there was not hot water. So we couldn't shower. The workout room cooling wasn't working, so it was super hot in there. A large boys basketball team was very loud and making noise all night so we didn't sleep. We stayed in the suite. The furniture was FILTHY stained and gross! We had to put towels on it to sit down. There are massive opportunities for improvement here. Theresa and Linda were lovely and helpful. The other staff were not concerned with our inconvenience. For real, there are other choices to stay in Columbus and we will choose something other than this LaQuinta the next time.

Elevator didn’t work, the whole place was dirty, everything was loud.

Filthy bathroom. It was not cleaned. Old soap left in the shower. Hairball in the garbage can, dirt on the floor.

Front staff nice and polite. Breakfast area is very nice. Pool was average. Pretty dirty around it. Our room floor was super dirty. I clorox wiped it and it was black. My kids feet were black from the floor. So i made them wear socks. If the room was clean and we didnt have mold in the bathroom. It would have been a pretty decent stay. Unfortunately, this is not a non smoking hotel though. By the pool with my kids there were men arounda table smoking. So that wasnt pleasant. And the parking lot sadly smelled of Marijuana. Not totally the hotels fault obviously. But just wasnt great for my kids.

Upon pulling down the covers to get into bed, we discovered a stain on the fitted sheet. Investigation of the stain showed the mattress underneath has something that resembled dried blood. Front desk advised that they were sold out and could not provide another room. At our request, they provided new sheets that we could put over the mess. Additionally, the shower had rust/dirt in the track the shower doors ran through. Horrible experience.

Damp. Green eggs for breakfast. 3 dying/dead roaches in room. Shower door off track. Feet soles got black, tracked into bathroom. Room key didn't work 2nd day, never worked for back entrance at stairs.

Hotel has cockroaches in the rooms and gym area.

We were in town for a track meet at Mississippi State. We checked in with no issues except the $250 incidental fee, which is absurd! We went to our room and left to grab supper. Upon returning, our bathroom was a MESS!! Urine stains on the toilet seat, hair everywhere and the shower drain was backed up! Took 15 minutes to drain. Called the front desk to ask for someone to come clean and was told “I don’t have anyone to come clean nor do I have a room to move you to.” Explained I didn’t want someone coming into our room the next morning to clean unless I was present. Of course no one showed so my husband and I checked out at 9:30 and canceled our 2nd night. Luckily, Teresa was at the desk and refunded us both nights stay due to the conditions! I would not recommend staying in this hotel!!

Bathroom had visible trash on floor. Drains were practically clogged and barely drained. Room looked as if It had not been vacuumed. Room smelled very stale.

Maid staff could do a better job. There were black hairs in the tub. (Not mine) the carpet made my bare feet black and I had to lay towels down from the bathroom to the bed as I forgot to bring slippers. The carpet had sticky spots too.

They were under staffed. First night the front desk staff were very friendly. But I found blood on my comforter. Was offered a room changed declined and requested a bed change. Was then brought a comforter with brown stains. Then we accepted the room change. New room door looked like it had been kicked in but by now I’m tired and want to go to bed having been on the road for 10 hrs. 2nd night staff was very rude and told me to come down stairs to get towels that were never in the room to begin with. Breakfast was ok but ran out early. Overall I would give it two stars only because the staff member from our first night stay was overwhelmed but her attitude was so sweet & she was as accommodating as she could bebut it was downhill from there

Not clean at all. Nasty

How does the saying go.. You get what you pay for…. It was just that. At the rate I got / I was expecting much & the property showed. If feel like it’s one of those we are doing the bear minimum to say we did it. The rooms were clean but gives you an erry feeling. Our room was one right in front of the pool- so the outside lights were shining through. The see through panels are the only thing that closes a that helped none. The heavy duty dark panels did not close. I didn’t feel safe & felt like at any moment anyone could walk by and stare into our room. Ended up talking a hanger and closing it together so my children could sleep. Also at 430 in the morning the fire alarm goes off and on off and on. No ONE called or texted to say nothing! No accommodations for waking up my sleeping children. I will say that their breakfast food was pretty decent & had a few available good options. The staff I encountered was very friendly.

Staff was friendly and quick with checking in/out. Bed skirt and headboard had visible stains, but high-touch surfaces were clean

For our one night stay, we found our room to be spacious, very clean and comfortable. Even though our room faced a busy highway, we found it to be very quiet and the bed very comfortable.

We love this place have stayed probably 20 times but the room last night had non functioning ac.

My room was comfortable for the most part but there were some small issues. The smoke detector was missing from the ceiling with the wires just hanging down, the bathroom sink's tap was loose and moved when turning the water on and off, and the toilet didn't flush well.

I liked how clean the property was and how convenient shopping is. The only thing I did not like was how noisy the AC unit was. I didn't get a good night's sleep from that.

The room looked like it was going through a remodel, the desk and tv stand were away from the wall, and the baseboard was part way off. The wall thermostat did not work, had to use the old-fashioned unit controls, and the unit sounded like a jet plane taking off. The carpet needed vacuuming, bathroom floor needed sweep and mop, the covers on bed were stained. The Tv kept going dark the longer it was on. We were only there to sleep, so we did not complain. I would not use this hotel again.

We had a good stay. The service was top notch and the room was clean. The beds were very comfy. Breakfast was good and the attendant was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the curtains would not close to black out the light from outside.

Our stay at Columbus LaQuinta Hotel was a pleasant and enjoyable experience for the first three days of our stay. The room was spacious, and the glass enclosed shower was great. The mirrored closet door was a nice addition, except the position of the handle should have been on the opposite side for easier access. A continental breakfast was included. The king-size bed was fairly comfortable, but the television in our room was very dark, and we could barely see the picture, but it had ShowTime. Everything was going fine until our last night. That's when our peace and quiet was interrupted by loud hip hop music, people yelling and running up and down the hallway next to our room. After it got progressively worse, we reported it to the front desk clerk. We tried to get to sleep but it was impossible with the loud voices and music coming from the room next door. My husband and I were very disappointed, but we did not blame the hotel or the staff. Some people just don't care about anyone but themselves. Luckily the chaos stopped about 1am in the morning and peace was restored. Other than that, unfortunate incident, we enjoyed our stay, and would consider staying there again because of the convenient location to shops and restaurants.

Big, spacious room. A/C unit was loud when turning on and off.

The customer service is always awesome! The front desk,person who prepares breakfast,the persons who clean rooms. My room was on the third floor this stay.When I entered the hotel there’s a clean fresh smells that greeted us.When I stepped off the elevator to the third floor. This clean fresh odor wasn’t there.I immediately noticed and the person accompanying me does as well.I usually caring neutralizing air fresheners as I travel.Not this time. The hotel should have that clean fresh scent throughout.My two night stay would have received 5 stars this visit. It would be a benefit to customers if management would could or would research the area.Looking for drivers willing to take people to and from the airport. Delta Airlines only has two flights per day.One more flight with another airline coming soon.Small towns and large cities prosper by meeting the needs of the people. Shuttle services by car or van to and from the Greater Regional Airport is needed.The small town could profit and needs could be met.I will have stay in Starkville,Ms when there’s no family available to pick me up. This most like will be my concern each time. Because the fresh scent complaint will be taken of by my next visit. I do believe.It’s an easy fix.

Check in was at 3, my room wasn't ready until 8 pm, the floor on half the room is soaking wet and the bathrooms not very clean. Rusty lamp. The air conditioner is extremely noisy.

Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Front desk staff was great.

Old food was behind the entertainment center. The staff was not friendly at all and had what I can only assume as friends in the lobby. Ignoring their customers when we were entering or exiting the hotel. As a woman traveling alone I will NEVER stay there again. I did not feel safe and will question whether we stay at another La Quinta.

Room 103 smelled like a damp and dirty locker room. The odor was so bad not even the can of Lysol I used helped. I would have asked for a different room when I first entered but it was late and we were ready for bed. It appeared that the smell grew worse as the night went on. The AC unit, when the compressor kicked on it sounded like a jet engine taking off ( this occurred every 20- 25 minutes and lasted 2-3 minutes each time it cam on). While attempting to watch the tv, the longer it was on, the darker the screen became making it very hard or enjoyable to watch. However the worst part came the next morning at 9:30 am. Housekeeping came into our room, without knocking or announcing herself. One party member was still in bed while the other was in the shower. We went to the front desk about this behavior and they replied they would call housekeeping staff and tell them to knock before entering.

Employees Star and the one I had this morning at the front desk were excellent. Star was extremely professional even though an unruly person was in the lobby and was trying to interrupt her while she was dealing with me.

Thanks it was a great stay. It was a lady that went out of her way to give us needed towel and she was not our person who was there this week. She was a black lady that had short hair and was in the laundry room.

Very personable staff. Hotel was very modern and well maintained.

Staff was excellent and accommodating. Everyone was polite and front desk put me in a room very close to desk and breakfast area, because I was a single female traveling. It is a decent hotel, but not in the greatest part of town and I noticed unloading my car at the front, the pool was absolutely disgusting. It had not been cleaned for the season yet. Not that I planned to swim, But that is one of the first things you see to the left when you pull upfront to unload your bags and walk into the front desk area. Breakfast was your basic Continental hotel breakfast, but the staff was very sweet and hospitable. My room faced out back to a parking lot with a walkway, and the shades were semi transparent, which made made me nervous. I cannot close the main blackout shades.

The property itself is clean and neat; however, the location means there is noise from the highway. Additionally, the physical property around the hotel is old and not very attractive. I just want to be honest; however, the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel make it worth the stay. Also, the breakfast is really good. Some hotel-included breakfasts really miss the mark. This one does not. The waffle station is the best. There is a pretty good variety of items, including healthy choices like fruit and yogurt.

Property was clean, friendly staff, quiet, accessible to shopping, and restaurants. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Convenient. Right off the hwy. Nice town. Room a little tight, but not bad. Nice breakfast.

Convenient to the highway.

This hotel was very accessible to the highway, which allowed us to easily travel to friends and family in the area. We also found local attractions to explore, as well as places to walk (a Riverwalk and bike path) and shop.

The location was very central to our needs (right next to Hwy 45/ Hwy 82 intersection), meeting up with friends from different areas. Great eateries all around. Handicap parking was poor, and I'm not sure legal. There were 5 parking spaces closest to the front entrance. The few that were handicap, were the fartherest away, and two others (not handicap) were closer and the same vehicles parked there daily.

Average hotel. The breakfast was limited no fruit at all and seemed to limit how much gravy etc they placed out. Later diners had very limited choices or no choices at all.

Great breakfast! Room was decent too! Lady at desk was acting funny because we needed a plastic spoon but overall okay stay. Fire alarm went off mid night.

Mrs. Carolyn was especially great and helpful. Everyone was very polite and the property was very well maintained and clean. Smelled amazing, and the breakfast was top notch!

Our family has traveled from Georgia and stayed in this particular hotel a couple of times even though we were visiting another city which is 30 minutes away. We didn't have many issues on our prior visits, not to say we didn't have any at all but, this time took the cake. We came for a relatives funeral and stayed here. When we first pulled up, there was lack of parking, we had to park in the parking lot at the next building over, the desk attendant didn't seem friendly, we had stained wash towels, no shower caps provided in the bathroom, and the breakfast situation was the worst...there was no coffee, no hot water for tea/oatmeal, and the food was scarce. There was an attendant there, but she was moving too slow for the amount of people that needed to be served. The restock of food was very slow on her end, food went very quickly, or it was cold and we were there EARLY! It was so bad that we didn't even try for breakfast anymore on the followings days.

The carpets were wet. The room had a terrible smell. The toilet didn’t flush. The elevator made a terrible sound like it was going to breakdown every time we got on it, only one elevator was operational. At 9 am, I went to get breakfast and they were out of several items and were not refilling them. Breakfast was supposed to be until 10.
