BIG4 Port Elliot Holiday Park

Unfortunately, the owners of this Big4 are very much letting the brilliant location sell for them. We stayed here about three years ago and it was in need of upgrading, repair and maintenance then. It’s clearly not been done and the park has been left to a state of disrepair. The cabins are in desperate need of upgrading and are generally not well cleaned or maintained. There was mould spawning on the ceiling above the shower cubicle, none of the window screens fit, hence the bug and spider problem, the floor tiles are all cracked and need replacing, the door locks and handles are faulty and the water pressure is far too strong and too hot despite trying to adjust the temperature. The park itself sports dead grass almost everywhere and the playground is a dirty sandpit of rubbish. There was also a miscommunication regarding a deposition not being taken at time of booking and at check in, the woman was rather rude when I queried it and wanted to check my banking before paying the full amount. We won’t be staying here again. Highly recommend The Beach Huts at Middleton or other local caravan parks.

Great space for kids, nice to be right by the beach. While it was busy it was still quiet. We will be back.

We loved our stay at the two bedroom cabin, which was situated close to our friends and the playground. Facilities are great - we didn’t use the camp kitchen but that looked well equipped too! Kids loved the jumping pillow and go karts.

Well set out park lots of space

Staff were very friendly. Cabin was all we needed and had everything we needed. Good borrow board games from reception which was a great bonus as the weather was not that good.

It was a lovely location but the cabin needs upgrading, especially the bathroom. You need to get in the bath to shower and there was mould around the bath. There needs to be ceiling fans in bedrooms, as the air conditioner doesn’t reach. Otherwise it was a good sized cabin

It’s old and dated, stained towels, pillow cases… hence I took my own sheet and blankets, I now have bad asthma due to mould in bathroom, will not recommend and will never stay in a cabin again

Location is good - right on a pretty beach. Cabin we had was old and a bit worn, though clean. Heater was old and very noisy. Sleep or freeze. Overall quality did not justify the price. The wifi was non-existent. It would not even connect properly, let alone provide internet. Just not good enough these days. A star lopped for this alone.

We had a one night stay at this place in a cabin. The check in person was less than friendly and very matter of fact. The cabin is old and maintenance is a bit lacking. Windows have not been cleaned for some time and the insect screens also have not been cleaned for ages and were full of dust. A water saver on the shower and given what we paid for the night (which was the highest of our trip) you would expect to be able to have a good shower. The beach is close and is beautiful. All in all a very average stay and we would not stay there again.

Property is in a fantastic location but the cabin we stayed in was clean, but in desperate need of updating. New paint and flooring would make a big difference. We also called ahead, as instructed, to let them know we'd be checking in late but had to call again when we arrived to get our room directions and key. The milk in our fridge also expired 3 months ago, not a great experience in our morning cup of tea.

We loved the location of our cabin with it being tucked away and beautifully quiet. The rooms were clean and nicely presented and the shower was lovely and hot! The only negative was that we noticed a smell of cigarette smoke in the bedroom with the bunk beds, so we left the window open most of our stay and kept the bedroom door shut.

clunking ceiling fan, dirty dishes in cupboard, blankets needed a wash, booking photos do not represent what you are booking just general park and pictures of updated units, overall nice spot close to a beach, ole girl doing the rounds a treasure,

Cabin i had was very old and the bathroom had a very strong small of mould. Air condtioner very noisy. I am aware there were other newer cabins available within the park. However great location with a great walking track for an early morning walk with all the bunnies!

Didn’t appreciate not being able to check in one hour early particular given the weather was so horrible. There is no lounge to sit on only very hard kitchen chairs. There is a constant rattle coming from the a/c. There is black mole around the hand basin. The whole place needs an upgrade urgently. We won’t be back.

This is a really great holiday location for a family. We stayed for business (out of convenience) but it is a great location. The room and features are budget oriented but the room had everything most families would need. We were comfortable and warm.

Place was ok if a little tired and overpriced. Would have liked an earlier check in even if it was just to park the car.

A brilliantly located, quiet and attractive location. Comfortable and affordable with efficient, friendly staff providing excellent personal service.
