Large reception/entrance area with access to various seating options (couches, tables/chairs, and bar). Check-in is via computers at the front, however, staff are always there to help if needed. They are so friendly and helpful - they are happy to answer any questions. X1 bar and a small shop are in the same area - they offer various drinks and food (excellent). Another bar (rooftop) which is gorgeous and again has access to various seating options. The room itself is as pictured online and very clean. There is access to an iPad which controls lighting and the blinds (you can also do this via normal switches). The iPad also has the hotels menu and various city guides (i.e. attractions, dining suggestions, etc). The bed is very comfortable and cosy. The shower is excellent, however, can become very slippy when bending to wash feet (there are no railings to hold onto). The toilet is in the same cubicle and although there is a shower curtain, the whole cubicle becomes wet - this can become annoying when using the toilet and feet becoming wet. The location is excellent - a 2 min walk to timesquare (i.e. red steps). There are various restaurants and shops close too.

I’ve stayed here several times before, and it’s always been great. But this trip had a few issues. First, one of the elevators was down, which left only two working elevators. Waits got so long on several occasions that I just ended up using the stairs. The other issue was non-stop loud bass from a stereo. I couldn’t tell if it was coming from a room next-door, or from the hotel's night club… but it was loud and annoying. Overall, though, I didn’t spend much time in the room… so it didn’t really impact my overall trip.

No hot water to take a shower this morning! Only ONE elevator worked yesterday. Horrible stay!

Fix the elevators please as it took me 20 min to get to my room

Came in during the time when they were upgrading the elevators and the gym. The gym was a big part of why I booked this and was told only a week out that it was going to be closed starting the day before I was supposed to check in.

Gym was being redone. And Elevator as well. Other than that it was a wonderful stay.

Hotel elevators limited and long waits; ease of self checking with iPads late at night; room had non functional iPad to control lights, tv, temperature; 3 out of my 4 nights iPad didn’t work; last night stated it needed to be serviced by admin; 1 day they were servicing my room at 4:30 pm when I returned from being out in the city; bedding comfortably but excessive use of bleach; best part location, but many other hotels to choose from in the area; for the price, not worth it;

Love this hotel right on time square , excellent location , steps away from broadway shows, restaurants, bars. Beautiful art deco style lobby with plenty of lounging areas, fun, suiting colors, big, comfortable sectionals, 24/7 open bar, great cocktails, and some food too. Friendly , professional staff . Comfortable bed with high quality sheets and pillows, color changing mood lights, blackout curtain, all digital. Smart design. I will definitely stay here in the future again! Highly recommend!

Best roof top bar with amazing view of Times Square.

My stay was good overall. The room was tiny(im talking small!) but clean. The staff was friendly and helpful but there were some issues with the elevators. I was made aware but didnt expect it to be that much of a hinderance. Overall for the price and location i give my stay a 7/10

People working here are super friendly and make you feel like home. The location is super! Literally few minutes from Times Square. They offered us free drinks as soon as we arrive after hours and hours of flight and we really appreciate that! BUT, there were some issues that need improvement. During our stay there were two fire alarms. One at 1.30 in the morning and the other at 5.00 in the morning. There wasnt any fire but we had to wake up and go downstairs for safety reasons. On one day of our stay, there was no hot water during morning hours, they were trying to fix it but couldnt tell us the time needed to fix the problem so we had to skip morning shower. And what needs a serious improvement is the cleaning of rooms. Second day of our stay, the cleaning lady didnt put new towels, just took the old ones, so i had to go to the reception and ask them for towel plus to fix room phone cause it wasnt working. They did it immediately . For the next two days we had an issue with the cleaning hour, because they didnt clean the room until 3.00-3.30 in the afternoon- it was the time we arrive at the hotel so we had to wait outside of the room until the cleaning lady finishes the room. So i arranged with the reception to clean the room by 11.00 Morning. And they solve that too! But the cleaners really didnt do an efficient job in the room. Everyday we found hair on the floor and on the bed sheets . Its sad because all the employees downstairs are really nice, friendly and helpful

Vibe and efficiency was amazing. However some of the linens and towels were not entirely clean. The rooftop bar had an amazing view but the elevators were a bit slow. There was an iPad where you can control the light, temperature, media and curtains of the room. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who wants to be close to the city and good vibes.

Perfect location for exploring that part of the city. Room was cleaned great every day, the property is extremely clean and well kept. The service from the staff is incredible. Even the maintenance staff spoke to us in the elevators. I was in town for the NYC marathon and definitely would stay here again!

My daughter and I had an amazing stay at CitizenM New York Times Square! The hotel was super clean, the staff was great, and everything we wanted to see was just a short walk away. The location couldn’t be better, and the rooftop views were awesome. Definitely recommend staying here!

Very close to the subway! You can take the subway anywhere! Felt very safe and the location felt and was safe too. Hotel is walkable to tons of foodie places. You can also drop your luggage off early if you get there too early for check in to a room. Get your chilled bottle of water from the downstairs bar ^_^ yes the room and bathroom are small -literally no more than two people per room like I wouldn’t even recommend two adults and a child. It is smalll! Trying to store two checked in bags was Tetris. Also beware the drawer under the bed if you pull that out too fast it will clip your toes. Also it’s very tech savy which is a plus but can be a con too if WiFi goes out. The shades on the room would open up without touching any buttons too (only happened like twice though) the shower pressure was amazing and hot water kept coming! The tech stuff was super neat controlling everything from the iPad ^_^ pretty fun!! - citizenM is overall a great hotel to stay in! Would do again!!!!

Small and cute boutique hotel in the heart of the broadway action

Everything about this hotel was amazing, especially the staff and the breakfast! On the negative side, the elevators were a problem. Only one of the three elevators worked during our 3 night stay. As expected, the room was small. The placement of the bed was troublesome. The bed was only accessible on one side. My husband had to crawl over me to get out of the bed. Due to this, we will not be returning to this hotel. It is a shame as the staff and everything else was amazing. The location in reference to the theatre district was perfect!

Great and a very inviting lobby. Breakfast was very good too. Great view from the rooftop bar. But rooms are tiny and not particularly intimate with a bathroom area encroached into the room. Area around really busy and noisy.

Rooms are very small and you shower with the toilet in one pod. Felt like we were staying in an RV. Property is excellent location and staff are very helpful.

I love CitizenM’s modern and well thought out designs. Everything is controlled by the iPad and the set up of the room is efficient. Replace all the toilets with bidet toilets is my only recommendation for the room. Other pluses about this CitizenM: good location (if you don’t mind the crowd); easy access to metro stations; fluffy pillows; great selection of TV channels; super welcoming front desk crew.

In general our stay was good however having a double bed that is only accessible from one side is not ideal The room was small but functional

Loved the communal spaces! Our room was a bit small…we had a corner bed against the wall…had to crawl over my husband to get to the floor. Kind of funny!!

I will definitively book again. The lobby was so beautiful and inviting and the staff was great. We walked and the staff immediately welcomed us and held our suitcases in a safe place while we waited for our room since we got there early. The rooftop was a highlight and the drinks were amazing and they give you a ticket for a free drink. The room was perfect and clean. We literally were in the middle of everything walking distance and the subway at the corner. I’ve been there 5 times and this hands down was one of my favorite hotels. Thank you staff for your kindness and great customer service.

This has been my 4th time in NYC now and CitizenM has been the most wonderful experience yet. CJ and Ben truly made this trip the most special and incredible time. I am beyond thankful for their hospitality and hard work. The hotel is extremely modern and in the most convenient location to visit all of the NYC musts; the service is 5/5 gold stars, I wish I could add another because of the exceptional experience they provided. Truly a brilliant hotel and I cannot recommend it enough.

Staff make this place an absolute 10 out of 10. Honestly, haven’t had such seemingly sincere friendliness and client service in a very long time. After a terrible travel day everybody ar rhe desk and that I talked was chill and went above and beyond. I had asked for toothpaste and the person forgot to mention when I called down that they don’t have room delivery for that kind of stuff so I ended up waiting for a bit expecting it to come but nothing. I called and it was clarified but I was a bit annoyed cus by now I was already in the shower but understood the slight blip. Nevertheless 5 mins later the same support person did indeed bring it up. They were covering the desk and made an error and felt so bad and apologized repeatedly. It was really kind if them tbh. Would book here again in a heart beat.

I like that everything was within walking distance. Hotel was very clean, food was horrible and most staff were rude with an exemption of two employees Grace and John that were very kind and helpful and always had a smile on their faces.

Terrible Experience - Poor Service and Maintenance Issues Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Here’s what happened: • Building Issues: On the very first day, maintenance had to visit our room twice due to a building issue. Not a great start. • Water Outage: On the second day, we received a notice saying the water would be off for an hour. It ended up being off for most of the day, completely disrupting our plans. • Housekeeping Neglect: Despite multiple visits to neighboring rooms, our room was skipped for housekeeping during half of our stay. We called to request it, were assured it would be done, but it never happened. • Rude Service: When we asked for new towels, the staff member delivering them literally threw them at us without saying a word. Completely unacceptable. • Room Tech Failure: The room runs entirely off an iPad, but our iPad charger didn’t work. For two days, we repeatedly asked for a replacement and were told it was “on its way,” but it never came. We had to go out and buy our own charger just to use basic room features. This stay was nothing short of a nightmare. Between the poor communication, lack of service, and overall dismissive attitude of the staff, it’s clear this hotel does not prioritize its guests. We won’t be returning and would strongly advise others to avoid it.

The staff were not friendly, my room never got cleaned, no towels no garbage was ever picked up! Called everyday Finally on the last day, they dropped two towels ! Terrible The lobby looked nice, but the rooms are soooooosmall

I booked CitizenM NYC via Expedia and stayed at the hotel for one week. While I had booked weeks in advance, the hotel notified me just 3 days prior to arrival that one out of the three elevators was out of service for some time and would be out of service for my entire stay. I contacted the hotel frustrated about the potential delays in elevators due to the hotel being 90% plus booked. They offered me a credit back via Expedia. When I was at the hotel, I met the manager and he acknowledged that he was the one that talked to me and would put the credit in place. Expedia has not seen the credit and they have contacted the hotel and the hotel is now saying they will not issue the credit. I just called the hotel and they refused to let me talk to the manager and hung up on me. Terrible service

Loved our stay here. Right in midtown manhattan with everything going on steps away from the hotel. Rooms were very quiet, street noise as to be expected but I didn’t hear any once my earplugs were in! Highly recommend this hotel for a first trip to New York where you want to do all the tourist attractions - they’re all within walking distance and transit is so close.

The room was Tiny but adequate. They made good use of small space. The check in was self check in so no staff was there to give information about the hotel, the room or amenities. The breakfast and coffee in the morning were wonderful!!

CitizenM Times Square is my home away from home. It’s walking distance to Broadway and many other tourist attractions. Breakfast is outstanding and they make great drinks! Love the staff! At the front desk and the two bars. The ladies downstairs were extremely personable and helpful.

One of my favorite hotels ever. Super clean, breakfast buffet is great & the staff are all super welcoming & friendly.

Great vibe. Modern and practical. Everything in the room is controlled from an IPad. I enjoy that but can see how someone wouldn’t love it. Restaurant offer isn’t great. Ordered a pizza to go and the split it in 8 containers, one per slice . That ruined the whole pizza experience!

The hotel had a very fun vibe and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar was gorgeous, but the bartenders didn’t really know how to make drinks. Wish there were more food offerings in the canteen and in the rooftop bar. No food is available up there at all.

This is the second Citizen M we have visited (the other being Paris). Both were clean and quiet, with courteous/helpful staff. We enjoyed the restaurant, rooftop bars and morning coffee station. We would book Citizen M again!

We loved the location, being so close to the theatres. Also it is very Close to the subway. Each and every staff member we dealt with was top notch. Facility was very clean. Only thing we were a little disappointed with was no room service and when you ordered food from the bar there were not take out containers to take the food back to the room. Overall was a great place to stay and would return to.

Great stay! Def the hotel I will be coming back to in Manhattan. Too bad the rooftop bar was closed :(
