Expected so much more from a highly rated property. Extremely inconvenient parking that requires carrying luggage a long way, narrow stairwell to the top floor at far end of horseshoe shaped courtyard makes carrying luggage a chore, no luggage carts available, noise from pool until 10+ p.m., rattling AC cover required some ingenuity to improve, bathroom exhaust so anemic that steam stayed in room, slightly damp feeling bedding, no light switch near the beds, just a single bedside table for a room with 2 beds, small table with 2 chairs so squeezed into a corner that one chair was unusable, sandy floor. Will never stay there again!

The good: The staff is great, and for an older property the room was very clean and nicely updated. We had a balcony room and the balcony was spacious. The not-so-good: the lobby is very strangely located, you cannot pull up to the lobby for check in like you do at other hotels. You will have to park out on the street and walk into the property to access the lobby. The onsite parking is behind the property, with no easy access to the rooms. Again, it’s easier to park on the street beside the property to get to your room rather than use their parking lot. Many of the rooms are on the second floor - there is NO elevator. Not so great if you have a lot of luggage or small kids. We had both. Combine that with the inaccessible parking, and getting up to the room was a pain. last, and worst of all in my opinion, this property is NOT on the beach and it does NOT have its own beach access. It’s on the opposite side of the very busy Main Street from the beach. It’s more than a half mile walk across a super busy street with no crosswalks. Again. Very inconvenient and unsafe if you have beach gear and kids. You’ll likely have to drive to the beach and hope you find a parking spot which are virtually nonexistent. Moral of the story: the rooms are comfortable and clean, but the location and layout of the hotel are terrible if your goal is to have a beach weekend at Padre with your kids.

Good clean room and pool with convenient location. Only parking was at rear and away from the check in desk.

Very clean one complant the swimming pool really needs to be heated wanted to daily laps but was freezing cold

Establishment was clean as expected. Staff was welcoming and helpful when I lost my parking pass. Lots of parking in the back. Very well lit all around making me feel safe. Pool was cleaned everyday. No complaints here.

Extremely clean. Wonderful pool with waterfalls and available pool toys.

Hotel served the purpose, a cool clean place to sleep close to the island attractions. Parking is very limited first come first serve. Water is very hard. Bedding and towels are due for an upgrade. Shower head needs to be updated along with the yellowish shower curtain.

Quick check-in. Clean room. Claimed pool closed at 10. It was 1 in the morning and I looked out the window and saw the table in the pool area with 5 guys drinking by pool. I was woken by how loud they were. Called to complain but nothing was done. They finally left at 4 in the morning got 3 hours of asleep, was there for my daughters cheer competition so we had to be up at 7. Ugh

Check in was fast!! A/C freezing cold.. pool was BiG and crystal clear water .. highly recommend..will be back

They just remodel this place and it’s super clean and very nice. The only thing I didn’t like is that there is no parking in the front of the hotel or sides the parking is in the back of the hotel and you can’t see your vehicle, But we still enjoyed our visit good pricing and very clean.

Nothing but a glorified Motel 8. Rooms are filthy and disgusting. Floors were sticky all over and socks were black from just walking on them. Bath towels were also stained and paper thin. Not worth the high price tag we paid for a room at all.

5 stars isnt enough for cleanliness. They really go the extra mile. Bed was new and clean. Rates were super cheap as well. Definetly a great stay

Very clean, both inside and outside

The bed sheets where all dirty and we were so exhausted that just wanted to sleep i let the front desk employee know and even showed pictures. I was showering and the towel i got was dirty with dark spots .

The hotels in this area are completely overpriced. The rooms were dirty, the shower water was cold, the towels were very dirty, there were no blankets, and the bed linens had a bad smell and were grimy. In addition, the person in charge of cleaning the rooms treated us poorly, practically throwing us out.

Staff not interested in customer's needs. Bad attitude when dealing with the customer. Staff evidently offended when asked to assign us a room as quiet as possible. Barhroom was poorly cleaned, with hairs all over. The room was clean, though, and very noisy (not people, but mechanical noises). We were not able to sleep well.

This was my 3rd stay at El Delphine. It's not a fancy hotel but clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be staying again!

The room didn’t feel clean there was hair all over the floor and bed, stains on the sheets. There was no hot water in the shower. The tv apps on their Roku didn’t work so you couldn’t watch the tv.

Close to the beach, shops, and dining options. Rooms were spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. My Major complaint was the loud and obnoxious noise from the 2nd floor occupants above us. From check in to checkout day/night the stampede was ridiculous. I’ll request a 2nd floor option next time if I return.

The rooms are very clean. It’s in a good area. The air conditioner works good. You do hear the noise from the pool though. There is no coffee maker in the room either.

The walls seem thin - I could hear the neighbors, seagulls, music, etc...

Great place. My wife and I were very pleased with the jacuzzi room and the very nice, clean pool.

Great interior renovation. Spacious rooms with nice beds, 50" Roku TVs, new flooring and paint. Fridge and microwave

Hotel was very recently updated and the staff was super friendly. It was clean and comfortable, although the bed was a bit soft for my liking. Only issue we had was the room next-door blasted Tejano music until 2 AM.

I would book again! My only big complaint about the room was that there seemed to be some electrical issue with the light in the restroom. When the AC would turn on it would dim or sometimes flicker. Also, there didn’t seem to be enough light in the room. Not great when you’re trying to put makeup on. All the rooms face the pool, so if you’re not an early riser be prepared to be woke up by kids screaming. Outside of that, the room was very comfortable and clean. Not sandy at all considering you’re on South Padre.

Rooms are renovated, and bed was nice. However beyond that there was little care. No blankets in the room, only the thin bedcover. Super cheap soap and shampooing conditioner. The towels were made for a small child, were thin and so rough… we called them exfoliating rags. If you’re looking for just a comfortable bed bring a blanket, shampoo and conditioner you will be ok, and your sunburned skin will be nice and exfoliated when you leave.

First, I would stay here again, it was a good deal. The price was very reasonable, and it was new, clean and quiet. Second, there was a large "Smart TV", but there was no Cable TV attachment. And this was very frustrating to me, Third, this room is described as a "Honeymoon Room - King Bed with Jacuzzi" or a "King Jacuzzi Suite". And the tub is very small, not large enough for 2, not Jacuzzi and not a Suite, But with all of that in mind, it was still a very reasonable price. And I highly recommend it.

Great front desk staff!

I’m happy to say this was a great hotel to stay at! It was last minute but a great option. Very clean. Nice hotel staff. We had to checkout later and they had no issues with that. And it was a 9 minute walk or so but near everything you need! 10/10

I didnt like the loud parties at the pool after 10pm but otherwise staff awesome! Very helpful, would go back!!!

Front desk staff were to tell us different information. Originally I had booked a stay for two nights and then wanted to add a third night. I was informed that this wasn’t a problem. However, they wanted me to check in twice and leave my credit card twice and show my ID twice. OK that’s annoying and unnecessary, but then the room was not clean. As a matter of fact the furniture was so stained that we wouldn’t even touch the couch. Luckily the sheets were clean however they were also stained. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. We got room 102 which had a jetted bathtub in it. However, the tub did not have hot water and when I tried to address it with the staff, they simply told me that I should’ve addressed it a long time ago. I’m not sure how I could do that since I’ve never been at this hotel before. Additionally, while I was there the room had an overpowering chemical smell. So I had to keep the window opened so I didn’t get a headache, even though it was hot outside. At one point I was getting ready by the mirror, and I noticed a person peeking in through the window, literally leaning their face against the screen in order to see inside. It was creepy and gross. In retrospect, I should’ve called the police. I did talk to the front desk and they brushed it off and as a matter of fact, even though it was on camera, they tried to tell me I was lying. Although I felt safe in the community, I did not feel safe there because he could have slashed open that screen in a second.

Great Room, great prices, excellent customer service!!

Tried to scam a “100$ deposit fee” that was no where on the online, or provided in person policy. On top of that I had called 2 weeks prior to my check in to make sure they don’t require a deposit and was assured they don’t (mind you they state a spring break deposit fee but this was in July). Once I proved to the receptionist that it’s not in their policies or anywhere written online or on their own copied version of the policies, after she rudely gaslit me into thinking I had “overlooked” that policy she still then threw her hands up and insisted upon a deposit. Just in case you were trying to budget for your vacation, expect hidden fees and policy changes on a whim! Oh and of course the classic strangers pubic hair and head hair clump in shower upon arrival.

Gentlemen, at the front desk was helpful, polite, and overall provided great service.

Front desk receptionist went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. Recommend this hotel.

There scammers and charged me an xtra night after I left

Clean spacious rooms. 7 min walk to the beach. The room was very cold so bring an extra blanket. Also the neighbors are roudy, nothing a sound machine won't fix

My go-to on the Island for when I need to stay cheap. No frills besides a pool (no breakfast, basic toiletries, etc.), but the room was clean, the staff is good, and you can get where you need to go easily
